One aspect of the present invention relates to a connector for connecting a wiper blade assembly to a wiper arm. The wiper arm adapted to be connected to the connector has a connector head at the end adapted to receive a connector that engages the connector. The connector may include a front sidewall, a front hook, and a rear hook. The front hook can be arranged on two sides of the connector close to the front side wall, and the rear hook can be arranged on two sides of the connector away from the front side wall. Accordingly, the connector may have front and rear opposite first and second ends. The first end is located at the rear end of the connector, where a rearwardly open catch may be provided. The card slot may be disposed near a bottom of the first end at the first end, and the card slot may be open to a side of the first end. The clamping groove can be a through groove at the first end, and two opposite side surfaces of the first end are communicated; alternatively, the clamping groove may also include a first clamping groove and a second clamping groove, and the first clamping groove and the second clamping groove are respectively and symmetrically located at two sides of the first end. The second end may be located at a front end of the connector, and the second end may be provided with a longitudinal limit portion and a transverse limit portion. The longitudinal stop may be provided by second protrusions on both sides at the front of the connector, which may extend outwardly from the sides of the connector, and which may abut against the front surface of the front side wall after the wiper arm is assembled to the connector. The lateral limit may be provided by first protrusions on both sides at the front of the connector, which may extend outwardly from the sides of the connector and whose upper surface may be a slope, at least one of the first protrusions and the front hooks being resilient such that the slope is capable of guiding the front hooks, which may hook onto the bottom surface of the first protrusions after the wiper arm is assembled to the connector. The connector of this aspect of the invention may be configured to be adapted to provide the rear hook to enter the card slot from the rear to the front in a posture in which the front hook is higher than the connector when the wiper arm is mounted, and to allow the rear hook to pivot downward in the card slot, the longitudinal stopper restricting rearward displacement of the wiper arm by the front side wall and the lateral stopper restricting upward displacement of the wiper arm by the front hook after the front hook is assembled downward to the connector.
Further, in some embodiments, the connector may further include a body and a handle portion, which may be located at a front end of the body and constitute the aforementioned second end, and which may be integrally connected to the front end of the body at a lower portion of the body through a neck portion that is elastically bent. The clamping groove may be located at the body, and the longitudinal and transverse restraining portions may be located at the handle. The clamping groove and the transverse limiting part are not communicated with each other.
Fig. 2 shows a schematic perspective view of a wiper according to one embodiment of the invention, in which the wiper arm and the connector are in a state to be assembled. Fig. 3 shows another schematic perspective view of the wiper of fig. 2, wherein the wiper arm and the wiper connector are in an initially assembled state, wherein the pivot joints of the two are engaged with each other. Fig. 4 shows a further schematic perspective view of the wiper of fig. 2, with the wiper arm and the wiper connector in the final assembly state.
As can be seen in fig. 2, the wiper includes a wiper arm having a connector 100 and a wiper blade assembly 200. Only the portion of the wiper arm and wiper blade assembly associated with the connector 210 is shown.
The wiper arm is the part of the wiper that is connected to the vehicle, the wiper blade assembly used for supporting the wiper; the connecting head 100 of the wiper arm is intended to be connected to a wiper blade assembly, which connecting head has a cavity in which a connector 210 can be accommodated. The wiper blade assembly 200 is connected to the wiper arm by a connector 210 and is configured such that the wiper blade is capable of intimate contact with the surface of an automotive windshield. When the scraping arm is driven to swing in an angle, the scraping blade sweeps across the windshield, so that rainwater, dirt and the like on the scraping arm are removed, and the driving sight is not influenced.
In the illustrated example, the connection head 100 of the wiper arm is provided at the end of the wiper arm, which has a shape adapted to receive an engagement connector. The connector includes a body 110, and a front hook 120 and a rear hook 130 extending from the body 110. The connector also has a front sidewall 216, see fig. 4 and 9. The front hooks 120 are positioned at the front of the body 110, and are disposed at both sides of the coupling head near the front sidewall. There is a front hook 120 on each side of the body. The rear hooks 130 are positioned at the rear of the body 110, and are disposed at both sides of the coupling head away from the front sidewall. There is one rear hook 130 on each side of the body. The front and rear hooks 120, 130 respectively include first extension parts 121, 131 extending downward from the bottom thereof at the side surfaces of the body 110 and second extension parts bent inward and extending from the distal ends of the extension parts 121, 131. The first extension portions 121, 131 and the second extension portions 122, 132 together constitute the front hook 120 and the rear hook 130. The interior of the connecting head 100 forms a cavity for receiving the body 211 of the connector 210 on the wiper blade assembly 200. In some embodiments, the entire connector may be received within the cavity of the header.
In this example, the wiper blade assembly 200 includes a connector 210, an adapter 220, and a wiper blade 230. The adapter 220 may be mounted on the wiper blade, and the connector 210 is an intermediate connection between the connection head 100 of the wiper arm and the adapter 220, so that the connection between the connection head 100 and the adapter 220 is repeatedly detachable. The adapter may be a metal adapter.
As shown, the adapter 220 is fixedly secured to the blade 230 and may include two juxtaposed retention tabs. The two holding tabs may be parallel to each other. The connector 210 is then placed in the adapter 220, in particular between two holding tabs, and is pivotally mounted in place by means of a pin. The position and posture of the adapter between the holding pieces can be pivotally adjusted along the pin shaft. With this wiper blade assembly 200, the wiper blade 230 is mounted to the wiper arm attachment 100, and when the wiper arm swings, the wiper blade 230 effects wiping of a target position of a window glass or the like.
As can be seen in the figures, the wiper connector 210 may include a body 211 and a handle 216.
A first pivot catch 212 and a second pivot catch (not shown) on opposite sides of the first pivot catch are provided at the body 211 of the wiper connector 210. As shown in the drawings, the first pivoting catching groove may be located at a lower portion of the rear end of the body 211, and the pivoting catching groove is located at a lower portion of the rear end of the wiper connector, and the pivoting catching groove is opened to the outside and the rear side. The second pivoting clamping groove and the first pivoting clamping groove are symmetrically positioned at two sides of the wiper connector. The first and second pivot detents are adapted to provide a mounting pivot point for the mounting of the wiper arm to the adapter or the mounting of the adapter to the wiper arm when the connector of the wiper arm is engaged to the wiper blade assembly by the rear hook. The first pivoting latch and the second pivoting latch may be provided as through slots, both ends of which are open toward the rear and side surfaces of the connector, respectively, communicating with two opposite side surfaces of the connector.
It will be appreciated that in the illustrated example, the pivot portion of the wiper connector is a pivot catch, and the pivot portion of the wiper arm is a rear hook. In alternative embodiments, the first pivot detent 212 and the second pivot detent may be replaced with other forms and shapes of pivot recesses.
The body 211 of the wiper connector 210 is shaped to be received within the cavity of the wiper arm attachment head 100, while the body 211 and the handle 216 may each be provided with a lateral stop such that the wiper arm attachment head 100 and the wiper connector 210, which are pivotally assembled together, remain in place relative to each other. For example, the above-described lateral limit portion may be provided by a stopper 213 at the front of the wiper connector 210 and a stopper 213 at the rear end of the wiper connector 210. These stops 213 may be raised portions that extend laterally outward from the wiper connector 210, respectively. In addition, the body 211 further has a longitudinal limiting portion, which may be formed by a first pivoting slot and a second pivoting slot, respectively, and is adapted to limit the relative longitudinal movement between the wiper connector 210 and the wiper arm attachment head 100.
The handle 216 may be located at the front end of the body 211 of the wiper connector 210 and integrally connected to the front end of the body by a resilient neck so that the engagement of the lateral limit with the front hook can be released by operating the handle relative to the body. As shown, the handle 216 may be connected to the lower portion of the body 211 by a resiliently flexible neck 217, which may be integrally formed. In the illustrated embodiment, a stop 213 located at the front end of the body 211 of the wiper connector 210 is located on the handle 216. In alternative embodiments, such as, but not limited to, where no handle is provided, it may also be provided at the body 211. Further, a first longitudinal limit portion 218 is further provided at the handle portion to prevent the wiper arm attachment head 100 from moving longitudinally along the connector 210.
In other embodiments, the wiper connector may not include the handle, and thus the clip groove, the lateral stopper, the longitudinal stopper, and the like of the connector may be provided at appropriate positions of the connector, such as the first end (front end), the second end (rear end), and the like, respectively, as described above. Since the catch groove and the lateral limit portion, which are adapted to engage with the rear hook and the front hook, respectively, are not communicated, the wiper connector and the wiper arm attachment head cannot be assembled by sliding in the prior art.
The process of mounting the wiper arm to the wiper blade assembly in this embodiment is described below with reference to fig. 2, 3, and 4.
In fig. 2, the connection head 100 of the wiper arm and the connector 210 of the wiper blade assembly are separated from each other and are still in a state to be assembled. At this time, the front end of the connection head 100 has been in a raised posture with its front hook being higher than the connector 210. With this posture, the connector head 100 continues to translate forward to enter the position of preliminary assembly with the connector 210, so that the rear hook enters the pivoting catch. The rear upper portion of the connector may enter the cavity of the header.
In fig. 3, the coupler head 100 and the wiper connector 210 are in an initial assembled state, and the rear hook 130 of the coupler head 100 has been engaged into the first and second pivot catching grooves of the wiper connector. The first pivoting detent and the second pivoting detent prevent continued advancement of the rear hook. Since there is a cavity in the connector, the front end of the connector can continue to act, pivoting relative to the rear hook, and the front hook 120 passes under the guide of the upper slope of the stopper 213 and receives the connector in the cavity of the connector. At this time, in order to enable the front hook to be guided through by the inclined surface, the front hook or the stopper (e.g., the front hook or the stopper itself or a part thereof to which it is attached) may be appropriately provided to be elastic. Thus, the fitting can be completed by pivoting the joint counterclockwise in the drawing at this time, and the state in fig. 4 is entered. In addition, since the connector is pivotally mounted between the two holding pieces by the pin shaft, the position of the connector can be adjusted during the mounting to match the mounting of the connecting head.
In fig. 4, the wiper arm attachment head 100 and the wiper connector 210 are in a final assembled state, the body of the wiper connector 210 and the rear portion of the handle 216 including the first longitudinal stop 218 are received within the cavity of the attachment head body 110, the first longitudinal stop 218 abutting against the inside of the front sidewall of the attachment head 100, the front hook 120 engaging with the lateral stop, i.e., the stop 213 at the handle 216, and the attachment head being fixed in position relative to the wiper connector. At this time, the first pivoting clamping groove and the second pivoting clamping groove can play the roles of transverse limiting and longitudinal limiting at the same time.
Fig. 5 shows a schematic side view of the wiper of fig. 2, with the wiper arm and the wiper connector in a final assembled state. This assembled state corresponds to the assembled state shown in fig. 4. In this assembled state, both the wiper arm attachment head and the wiper connector are in a stable engaged position and do not fall out in wiper applications.
As can be seen in fig. 5, the wiper arm attachment head 100 has been assembled to the wiper blade assembly, and in particular, has been engaged to the wiper connector 210, with a portion of the connector 210 being received within the cavity of the attachment head 100.
The rear hook 130 of the coupler head 100 is engaged at the first and second pivot catch grooves while the rear hook 130 is restrained from upward movement by an optional stop 213 (not visible in fig. 5) at the rear end of the wiper connector, and the longitudinal restraint formed by the first and second pivot catch grooves restrains the movement of the wiper arm in the longitudinal direction of the wiper connector.
The front hook 120 of the coupler head 100 engages at a stop 213 at the handle of the wiper connector, which stop 213 limits its upward movement, preventing the coupler head from accidentally pivoting in the opposite direction and disengaging from the connector.
In addition, the front end of the connector head falls at the handle portion 216 of the wiper connector and is sleeved on the first longitudinal limiting portion 218 of the handle portion 216, and the first longitudinal limiting portion 218 of the handle portion 216 and the first pivot clamping groove and the second pivot clamping groove can cooperate to avoid the longitudinal movement of the wiper arm.
Fig. 6 shows a schematic cross-section along A-A in fig. 5. The cut line A-A passes through the front hook 120. The figure also schematically shows a cross section of the wiper blade 230 or the like.
As can be seen in fig. 6, the body 110 of the wiper arm's connector head 100 provides a cavity within which the connector 210 is received. The front hook 120 of the coupler is engaged on the stopper 213. In connection with the A-A cut-away position of fig. 5, it will be appreciated that the stop is located at the shank 216. It can also be seen from the figure that the upper side of the stop 213 is formed with a bevel which provides a guiding effect for the front hook when the wiper arm is assembled, i.e. when the wiper arm connector is pivoted anticlockwise in the figure with the first and second pivoting catch grooves as pivot points, the front hook 120 is spread out towards both sides under the guidance of the bevel, after which the front hook resumes its shape and enters the position shown in the figure hooking the bottom of the stop 213. Also shown are the first extension 121 and the second extension 122 of the front hook 120. The first extension 121 extends downward from the body side of the connector, and the second extension 122 extends laterally below the stop 213. In order to prevent breakage at the time of blocking, the first extension portion 121 and the second extension portion 122 have a certain elasticity.
In an alternative embodiment, the bottom of the front hook 120 may also be provided with a guiding slope, enabling easier assembly. In addition, the shank 216 may also have suitable resiliency at the stop to facilitate assembly of the two.
Fig. 7 shows a schematic cross-section along B-B in fig. 5. The cut line B-B passes through the rear hook 130. The figure also schematically shows a cross section of a wiper blade or the like.
It can be clearly seen in this figure that after assembly, the rear hook 130 of the wiper arm attachment head 100 will hook the stop 213 at the rear end of the wiper connector, holding this end of the wiper arm in place. Also shown in fig. 7 are the first extension 131 and the second extension 132 of the rear hook, wherein the first extension 131 extends downwardly from the body of the connector and the second extension 132 extends laterally into the pivoting catch at the end of the first extension 131.
Fig. 8 shows a schematic top view along with the wiper of fig. 2, with the wiper arm and wiper connector in a final assembled state. Fig. 9 shows a schematic cross-section along C-C in fig. 8.
As can be appreciated in connection with fig. 8 and 9, in this assembled state, the rear hooks 130 of the wiper arm attachment head 100 are engaged in the first and second pivot catch grooves while they are also engaged with the stoppers 213 of the rear end of the wiper connector, respectively, while the front hooks 120 of the attachment head 100 are hooked at the stoppers 213 at the handle 216. At this time, the front side wall of the wiper arm connector 100 is respectively sleeved with the longitudinal limiting portion 218 at the handle portion 216. It will be appreciated that the intermediate portion of the front sidewall may have a notch that may ride on the handle 216 such that the front sidewall sides can nest into and engage the longitudinal stop 218 from the handle 216 sides. Under these engagement actions, the joint head 100 is in a stable fitting position with respect to the wiper connector 210.
With this structure, when it is necessary to remove the wiper arm attachment head 100 from the wiper connector 210, the wiper arm can be removed from the connector by simply pressing the top of the handle 216 in the longitudinal direction of the wiper by hand (i.e., the surface of the front end of the handle 216 having corrugations in fig. 9, which corrugations prevent the handle from slipping during operation), and by the bending neck 217 between the handle 216 and the body 211 being elastically bent by force, the handle 216 is moved backward as a whole while being moved backward together with the stopper 213 at the handle 216, the front hook 120 is disengaged from the stopper 213, and by pivoting the wiper arm attachment head in the clockwise direction in the drawing.
The invention also provides an automobile windshield wiper which is used for simply cleaning rainwater, dirt and the like of automobile windshield glass. The wiper may include a wiper arm, a wiper blade assembly, and a connector as in any of the previous embodiments. The wiper blade assembly may have a wiper blade adapter secured thereto, and the connector may then assemble the wiper arm and the wiper blade assembly together via the wiper blade adapter. The end of the wiper arm may be provided with a connector having a cavity adapted to receive a connector, and the connector may comprise: a front sidewall; front hooks arranged on two sides of the connector near the front side wall; and the rear hooks are arranged on two sides of the connector and far away from the front side wall. As shown in fig. 2, the connector 210 may be pivotally connected to a pin shaft between two holding pieces of the blade adapter, and a distance between outer side surfaces of the two holding pieces is greater than a lateral distance between ends of the front hooks 120 of the wiper arm attachment 100 and a lateral distance between ends of the rear hooks 130 of the wiper arm attachment.
As will be appreciated in connection with the foregoing description of the connector, in an alternative embodiment of the wiper, the connector may include a body and a handle, the handle may be located at a front end of the body and form the second end described above, the slot of the connector is located at the body, and the longitudinal and transverse stops are located at the handle. The handle may be integrally connected to the front end of the body by a resilient neck such that the engagement of the lateral limit with the front hook can be released by operating the handle relative to the body.
In the thus-arranged automotive windshield wiper, since the lateral distance between the ends of the front hooks of the wiper arm connector and the lateral distance between the ends of the rear hooks of the wiper arm connector are smaller than the distance between the outer side surfaces of the two holding pieces, the wiper arm connector cannot be slidably mounted to the connector along the through groove as in the related art when the connector is mounted in the wiper blade assembly. In addition, since the pivoting latch and the lateral limit portion on the connector are not in communication with each other, the wiper arm connector cannot be slidably attached to the connector.
In a further aspect the invention provides a method of mounting a wiper arm for an automotive windscreen wiper, the method comprising the step of mounting the wiper arm to a connector according to any one of the preceding embodiments. The steps include: providing the rear hook to enter the clamping groove from back to front in a posture that the front hook is higher than the connector; and enabling the rear hook to pivot downwards in the clamping groove until the longitudinal limiting part limits the backward displacement of the scraping arm and the transverse limiting part limits the upward displacement of the scraping arm. The pivot portion of the wiper arm according to the illustrated example may be a rear hook and the pivot portion of the wiper connector may be a pivot catch groove, and the rear hook may be disposed in the pivot catch groove. The corresponding wiper and method of installing the wiper brush will have the advantageous technical effects corresponding to the corresponding embodiments described above.
The technical scope of the present invention is not limited to the above description, and those skilled in the art may make various changes, modifications and combinations with the above-described embodiments without departing from the technical spirit of the present invention, and these changes, modifications and combinations are intended to be within the scope of the present invention.
