The corresponding relation between the port and the hard disk serial number is stored in the cache region, so as to prevent misoperation. The BIOS needs to reserve a location for storing the serial number of the hard disk in the flash cache region, and through the storage of the corresponding relationship, it is equivalent to bind the SATA port and the hard disk on the port. Therefore, when the hard disk needing to be formatted is selected in the subsequent steps, the BIOS can be compared to judge whether the hard disk needing to be formatted is the hard disk on the SATA port.
And step three, receiving the selection of the user to the hard disk required to be formatted, wherein the BIOS can be used for formatting different file system types, such as FAT, EXT4 or other file system types.
Fourthly, the BIOS acquires the serial number of the hard disk which needs to be formatted currently from the disk inserting port again, and compares the serial number with the serial number stored in the BIOS cache region; if the two are consistent, the next operation is carried out; if the serial numbers are not matched, the popup makes a prompt that the serial numbers are not matched, formatting is not suggested, and the process is ended.
For example, if the hard disk 1 needs to be formatted, the hard disk 1 formatting option is selected, and the BIOS automatically matches whether the serial number of the hard disk that needs to be formatted is consistent with the serial number stored in the cache region.
In a preferred embodiment, when the serial numbers are judged to be consistent, a popup window can be firstly performed to prompt a user whether to format the hard disk; if so, then entering the step five, and executing the hard disk formatting operation; otherwise, the flow is ended.
And step five, formatting the selected hard disk according to the selected hard disk.
The step of executing the hard disk formatting operation comprises the following steps: the BIOS automatically executes a plurality of formatting operations to ensure complete formatting; each formatting process displays the formatting percentage in the BIOS configuration interface. In the formatting process, the BIOS continuously waits for a command, and if an esc key pressed from the outside is received, the hard disk formatting function is exited; if a pause key pressed from the outside is received, the formatting action is paused; in the pause state, if an external push down of an enter key is received, the hard disk formatting function is continuously started.
The formatting operation follows the standard ATA/ATAPI-8Spec, and all 0 s or all F s are randomly written into the hard disk.
In order to implement the above method, the present invention further provides a device for formatting a hard disk under a BIOS configuration interface, as shown in fig. 3, the device includes a serial number obtaining module, a human-computer interaction module, a determination module, and a formatting processing module, which are arranged in the BIOS.
