Description

Rearview mirror system for prompting lane change possibility of vehicle and application method thereof
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of vehicle driving safety, in particular to a rearview mirror system for prompting lane change possibility of a vehicle and a method for prompting the lane change possibility of the vehicle by means of the rearview mirror system. The rearview mirror system at least comprises at least one vehicle-mounted camera, at least one rearview mirror with a prompting device and a controller. The method according to the invention for making a lane change possibility notification for a vehicle is carried out by means of a wing mirror system according to the invention, wherein, in particular, after a visual notification to the driver, the driver is prompted by voice while still turning the turn signal to be turned.
Background
According to the road traffic safety regulations, the vehicle needs to follow the indication of the lane line when driving on the road, for example, the ground marks such as a double yellow solid line, a single yellow solid line, a white solid line, etc. cannot be pressed. However, during driving, the driver often makes a violation such as a line press to a lesser extent due to negligence or misjudgment. Many of these violations are not subjective, but are recorded by the traffic violation snapshot monitoring system, which results in a financial and psychological loss to the driver.
For such lane departure behaviors, in the present automotive industry, more and more driving assistance functions are integrated in the vehicle, for which various sensors are generally required, for example, a sensor such as a camera or a radar is mounted on the outside rear view mirror of the vehicle for detecting the environment in which the vehicle is traveling, and particularly, when the vehicles are merged, a prompt is given to the outside rear view mirror for an adjacent vehicle at the side rear to avoid, for example, a collision accident.
Currently, extensive studies are being made on lane departure behavior based on image analysis in order to provide timely notification of the lane departure status to the driver by various methods, however such notification is usually presented on, for example, an in-vehicle central control display or other types of notification devices in the vehicle, and the driver must change his/her line of sight from head-up to an in-vehicle display to be able to notice the relevant notification while driving the vehicle. The prompt is often untimely or has the hidden trouble of distracting the attention of the driver, and has certain negative influence on the driving safety.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention aims at the problems and provides a rearview mirror system for prompting lane change possibility of a vehicle and a method for prompting the lane change possibility of the vehicle by means of the rearview mirror system. The rearview mirror system and the method for prompting the possibility of changing the lane of the vehicle can improve the possibility of the driver unconsciously violating the traffic regulations, and particularly reduce the violation behaviors of unconsciously driving the vehicle to press the line.
According to a first aspect of the present invention, a rear view mirror system for indicating a possibility of a lane change of a vehicle is presented, said rear view mirror system comprising at least: the vehicle-mounted camera is used for acquiring a target lane line image of a lane where the vehicle is located; at least one rear-view mirror with a prompting device, wherein the prompting device can generate visual prompting information for a driver; and the controller is used for receiving the target lane line image, evaluating the target lane line image and sending a signal needing to generate prompt information to a prompt device of the at least one rearview mirror according to an evaluation result.
In the wing mirror system according to the invention, the controller is preferably integrated in a vehicle Control system, such as an Electronic Control Unit (ECU), also commonly referred to as "driving computer", "on-board computer", or the like. The controller can however also be a single control device or a group of control devices, e.g. comprising an application specific integrated circuit, one or more processors, a non-transitory memory storing instructions.
Within the framework of the invention, the at least one vehicle-mounted camera can preprocess the acquired image information of the target lane line to form image data and transmit the image data to the controller. The controller is capable of evaluating the image data from at least one vehicle-mounted camera, preferably from one vehicle-mounted camera on each of the two sides of the vehicle, and of issuing a prompting signal for generating a prompting message, in particular a visual prompting message, to a prompting device of at least one rear-view mirror in dependence on the result of the evaluation. The prompting device can generate corresponding prompting information according to the prompting signal.
In the rearview mirror system according to the present invention, it is preferable that a speaker is further included for making a voice prompt to the driver, the voice prompt being generated after the visual prompt. The speaker is advantageously arranged inside the vehicle so that the driver can easily hear the voice prompt of the speaker.
Within the framework of the invention, the voice prompt is generated after the visual prompt, in particular when the prompting device on at least one rear-view mirror generates a visual prompt message, for example in the case of a driver who is not aware of the prompt message and still has a turn signal for turning, a voice prompt is emitted via the loudspeaker, for example a rapid warning sound or a speech prompt. The control unit can therefore also collect the information necessary for the driver to operate the vehicle, in particular the signals for the driver to operate the steering lamps, which are advantageously obtained by a direct connection of the control unit to the driving computer. Through the scheme, the prompt for the driver can be improved, so that the driver is less prone to neglect the target lane line which is easy to cause violation in the driving process.
According to a preferred embodiment of the wing mirror system according to the invention, the visual prompting information generated by the prompting device relates to a positional relationship between the vehicle and the target lane line. In particular, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is, for example, less than 50 cm, a pattern related to the target lane line is displayed on the presentation device of the rear view mirror.
Within the framework of the inventive wing mirror system, it is also possible to display a pattern relating to the target lane line on the display device of the wing mirror, in particular flashing at a certain frequency, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is below a certain distance, for example. It is particularly preferable that the frequency of the blinking becomes gradually faster if the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is continuously decreased to better draw the driver's attention to the relevant information. Conversely, if the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line continues to increase, the blinking frequency of the displayed pattern gradually decreases until the pattern is no longer blinking and/or no longer displayed above a certain distance. However, during driving, the pattern is advantageously not displayed if the spacing remains constant for a certain time or if the spacing remains within a certain range (for example between 30 cm and 50 cm) for a certain time. By "reaching a certain time" is meant, for example, that the distance is kept constant or within a certain range for a length of time, for example, 10 seconds. Here, in a case where the pattern is not displayed any more, if a further reduction in pitch occurs, the pattern is displayed again, and the pattern is flickered at a different frequency according to the speed of the reduction in pitch. Those skilled in the art will be able to set other spacing values or time values as desired. It is further advantageous if the driver can set the distance value and/or the time value individually, for example, via a control interface in the vehicle. It is also possible that the driver can be set by other means, for example by an application on a mobile terminal connected to the vehicle, without going beyond the scope of the present disclosure. Through the mode, the corresponding prompt information can be generated for the driver when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is too low, and the corresponding prompt information cannot be generated frequently or too long to cause excessive interference to the driver.
Within the framework of the invention, the visual prompting information presented by the prompting device can also be combined with the voice prompt of the loudspeaker. For example, in addition to the case where the driver turns the turn signal to prepare for turning as described above, in the case where the driver does not turn the turn signal to prepare for turning, if the pattern presented by the prompting device shows that the vehicle has pressed the target lane line, the driver is simultaneously given a voice prompt, particularly a warning sound or a voice prompt, through the speaker.
According to a preferred embodiment of the rearview mirror system of the invention, the prompt message includes at least a prompt for at least one of a double solid line, a single solid line, and a grid line. This means that after the at least one vehicle-mounted camera has acquired the image information of the target lane line, it is preprocessed into different image data to distinguish different target lane lines, for example, to distinguish a double solid line, a single solid line, a grid line, etc. After receiving the different image data, the controller further evaluates the different image data to find the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line, for example, and sends different prompting signals to the prompting device on the rearview mirror, so that the prompting device can display different patterns for different target lane lines. Therefore, the driver can conveniently know the type of the related target lane line through the displayed different patterns.
According to a preferred embodiment of the mirror system of the present invention, the prompt message is displayed in yellow when the vehicle is not pressing the target lane line, and in red when the vehicle is pressing the target lane line. For example, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is less than, for example, 50 cm, the pattern related to the target lane line is displayed in yellow, and in the case where the distance continues to decrease, the pattern is displayed in blinking at an accelerated frequency. When the spacing is reduced to zero, the pattern is preferably displayed in a normally bright red color. However, it is also conceivable to display the pattern in red at a higher blinking frequency when the spacing is reduced to zero.
According to a preferred embodiment of the mirror system of the invention, the prompt message comprises information on the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line. The distance information means in particular numerical information. For example, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is reduced to 50 cm, the word "50 cm" or "0.5 m" is shown in addition to the display of the pattern related to the target lane line on the presentation device of the corresponding rear view mirror, and when it is further reduced to, for example, 30 cm, the word "30 cm" or "0.3 cm" is shown. It is particularly preferred that the different writings are displayed in different colours, for example the "50 cm" writings are displayed in yellow and the "30 cm" writings are displayed in red. However, the distance information may not be numerical information, but may be different patterns, for example, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is reduced to 50 cm, a first pattern (for example, two parallel lines having a larger distance) is displayed on the presentation device of the corresponding rear-view mirror, and when the distance is further reduced to, for example, 30 cm, a second pattern (for example, two parallel lines having a smaller distance) is displayed on the presentation device of the corresponding rear-view mirror.
According to a preferred embodiment of the wing mirror system according to the invention, the evaluation result is also related to the current speed of the vehicle and the change in the distance of the vehicle relative to the target lane line. For example, if the current speed of the vehicle is greater than, for example, 40km/h, the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is lower than a certain value, and a corresponding prompt is issued on the prompt device and/or the speaker. Or, for example, if the current speed of the vehicle is greater than, for example, 40km/h, the distance of the vehicle from the target lane line is below a certain value and decreases continuously, a corresponding warning is issued on the warning device and/or on the loudspeaker. The current speed can be set, in particular, at the time of shipment of the vehicle, or can be set by the driver himself via a control interface in the vehicle control, or by the driver via other meaningful ways, without exceeding the scope of the disclosure of the invention.
According to a preferred embodiment of the rear view mirror system according to the invention, the at least one rear view mirror comprises a left outer rear view mirror and a right outer rear view mirror, and/or the vehicle camera comprises at least a camera arranged on the left outer rear view mirror and on the right outer rear view mirror. Since the left and right outer mirrors are targets that the driver often needs to pay attention to during driving, the prompting devices are arranged on the left and right outer mirrors, and accordingly, the driver can be given corresponding prompting information without causing the attention of the driver to be diverted. The target lane lines on both sides of the vehicle can be conveniently and reliably detected by the cameras, especially the wide-angle cameras, respectively arranged on the left and right side exterior mirrors. The onboard camera can in particular be a camera already present on the vehicle, which is required for the 360 ° image synthesis of the vehicle, i.e. the invention can preferably make use of an already existing camera on the vehicle, without a corresponding additional cost increase. However, it is also feasible to provide an in-vehicle camera that is dedicated to the inventive rearview mirror system.
According to a second aspect of the invention, a method for indicating a possibility of a lane change of a vehicle is also proposed, wherein the method is indicated by means of a wing mirror system according to the invention.
According to the method for prompting the lane change possibility, particularly after the driver is visually prompted, the driver is prompted in a voice mode under the condition that the driver still turns the steering lamp to prepare for steering. It is further preferred that the voice prompt is also given to the driver in the case where the driver does not turn the turn signal, but the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is reduced to zero, i.e., the vehicle presses the target lane line.
Drawings
The following schematically illustrates a rearview mirror system for indicating a lane change possibility and its working process according to the present invention in an embodiment.
Fig. 1 shows a schematic view of a rear view mirror system according to the invention.
Detailed Description
In an exemplary embodiment, the rear view mirror system has: the system comprises at least one vehicle-mounted camera, particularly a wide-angle camera arranged on the outer rearview mirrors on the left side and the right side of a vehicle, and a camera module, wherein the wide-angle camera is used for acquiring a target lane line image of a lane where the vehicle is located, and the target lane line is the lane where the vehicle is located and is located on the two sides of the vehicle; the rearview mirror system comprises at least one rearview mirror, in particular to outer rearview mirrors on the left side and the right side of a vehicle, wherein prompting devices are respectively arranged on the outer rearview mirrors and can generate visual prompting information for a driver; and the controller is used for receiving the target lane line image, evaluating the target lane line image and sending a signal needing to generate prompt information to the prompt device of the at least one rearview mirror according to an evaluation result.
Since the left and right outer mirrors are targets that the driver often needs to pay attention to during driving, the prompting devices are arranged on the left and right outer mirrors, and accordingly, the driver can be given corresponding prompting information without causing the attention of the driver to be diverted.
According to the illustrated embodiment, the vehicle-mounted cameras collect images of target lane lines located on the left and right sides of the vehicle, pre-process the collected image information of the target lane lines to form image data, and then transmit the image data to the controller. The controller is capable of evaluating the image data from the vehicle-mounted camera and, depending on the evaluation result, sending a prompting signal to a prompting device of at least one rear-view mirror for generating, in particular, visual prompting information. For example, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line on one side is smaller than a value, for example, 50 cm, according to the evaluation result, the controller sends a prompt signal for generating visual prompt information to the prompt device on the corresponding side rearview mirror, so that the prompt device on the corresponding side presents a corresponding pattern.
According to the mirror system of the present embodiment, the prompting device is a display device mounted on both side mirrors of the vehicle, which is capable of presenting different patterns on the respective mirrors, which can represent different types of target lane lines. Advantageously, the display area of the display device overlaps with the mirror surface for reflection on the respective rear view mirror.
The rearview mirror system according to the embodiment further comprises an in-vehicle speaker for giving a voice prompt to the driver, and the in-vehicle speaker enables the driver to easily hear the corresponding voice prompt.
For example, the voice prompt is generated after the visual prompt, which means that, for example, when the driver does not notice the pattern presented by the prompting device on the corresponding side (in fig. 1, the dotted arrow indicates the prompt of the prompting device on the rearview mirror to the driver, and "X" indicates that the driver ignores this prompt information), the controller collects a signal that the driver operates the turn signal lamp, and then emits, for example, a prompt warning sound or a voice prompt through the in-vehicle speaker. Through the scheme, the prompt for the driver can be improved, so that the driver is less prone to neglect the target lane line which is easy to cause violation in the driving process.
In the rearview mirror system according to the present embodiment, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is less than a pitch, a pattern related to the target lane line is blinked at a certain frequency on the presentation device of the rearview mirror. If the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is continuously decreased, the frequency of the flicker gradually becomes faster. Conversely, if the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line continues to increase, the blinking frequency of the displayed pattern gradually decreases until the pattern is no longer blinking and/or no longer displayed above a certain distance. Furthermore, during driving, if the distance remains constant for a period of time of, for example, 10 seconds, or the distance remains in a range of, for example, 30 cm to 50 cm for a period of time of, for example, 10 seconds, the pattern is no longer displayed. Then, in a case where the pattern is not displayed any more, if a further decrease in the pitch occurs, for example, to within 30 cm, the pattern is redisplayed, and the pattern is flickered at a different frequency according to the speed of the pitch decrease. Through the mode, the corresponding prompt information can be generated for the driver when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is too low, and the corresponding prompt information cannot be generated frequently or too long to cause excessive interference to the driver.
In the rearview mirror system of the embodiment, the driver can set the personalized distance value and/or time value by the control interface in the vehicle or the application program on the mobile terminal connected with the vehicle.
In the rearview mirror system according to the present embodiment, in addition to the case where the driver turns the turn signal to prepare for steering, if the pattern presented by the prompting device shows that the vehicle has pressed the target lane line in the case where the driver does not turn the turn signal to prepare for steering, the driver can be given an alarm sound or a voice prompt through the in-vehicle speaker.
According to the rearview mirror system of the embodiment, in addition to the target lane lines (e.g., double solid lines, single solid lines) on both sides of the vehicle in the lane where the vehicle is located, the vehicle-mounted camera can recognize the prompt of the grid lines below the vehicle. When the controller receives the image data which is sent by the vehicle-mounted camera and is positioned below the vehicle and represents the grid lines, the controller determines whether to send a prompting signal to a prompting device on the rearview mirror or not by combining the current speed of the vehicle. For example, when the current speed of the vehicle is zero, or when the current speed of the vehicle is less than a speed value (e.g., less than 15km/h) and continues to descend, the prompting devices on the outside mirrors on, for example, both sides are caused to present a pattern of grid lines. This allows the driver to know that the vehicle is in the grid line and should be driven out of the area as quickly as possible by means of the displayed pattern. It is further advantageous that the pattern of cue grid lines is presented in a normally bright manner and that the cue is stopped after a certain period of presentation. This is because, when a situation such as traffic congestion occurs, the driver cannot travel away from the grid line area in time even if the driver notices the prompt for the grid line, and at this time, if the prompt is continuously presented, negative interference is generated to the driver.
According to the rearview mirror system of the embodiment, when the vehicle does not press the target lane line, the prompt information display information is yellow, and when the vehicle presses the target lane line, the display information is red.
According to the rearview mirror system of the present embodiment, when the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is reduced to, for example, 50 cm, it is also possible to display the wording "50 cm" or "0.5 m" on the presentation device of the corresponding rearview mirror, and when it is further reduced to, for example, 30 cm, it is possible to display the wording "30 cm" or "0.3 cm". It is further advantageous that different typefaces are displayed in different colors, for example, a typeface of "50 cm" is displayed in yellow and a typeface of "30 cm" is displayed in red.
According to the rearview mirror system of the present embodiment, the evaluation result of the controller further depends on the following cases: when the current speed of the vehicle is more than 40km/h, for example, the distance between the vehicle and the target lane line is less than a certain value, and then a corresponding prompt is sent out on a prompt device on the rearview mirror and/or a loudspeaker in the vehicle; alternatively, if the current speed of the vehicle is greater than, for example, 40km/h, the distance of the vehicle from the target lane is below a certain value and decreases continuously, a corresponding warning is issued on the warning device on the rear-view mirror and/or on the loudspeaker in the vehicle. The current speed can be set, in particular, when the vehicle leaves the factory, or can be set by the driver himself.
In this specification, the terms "mounted" and "connected" are to be construed broadly unless otherwise explicitly defined or limited. For example, it may be a fixed connection, or a removable connection, or an integral connection; can be a mechanical connection, or an electrical connection; either directly or indirectly through intervening components, or both may be interconnected. The meaning of the above terms in the present disclosure can be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art as appropriate.
It should be understood that the above-described embodiments of the present invention are intended to be illustrative, but not limiting, of exemplary implementations of a rearview mirror system for indicating a possibility of a lane change for a vehicle in accordance with the present invention. In addition to the embodiments described above, a large number of variants which are obvious to the person skilled in the art and which are produced by combining the individual features of the invention are likewise possible.
