Description

Gelatin sponge strip conveying system for temporary arterial embolism
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of medical instruments, in particular to a gelatin sponge strip conveying system for temporary arterial embolism.
Background
The vascular embolization is an important technique for interventional medicine, and has a wide range of clinical applications. For example, the treatment of pelvic fractures, internal iliac artery embolism for postpartum hemorrhage, the treatment of internal mandibular artery embolism for skull base fractures, the treatment of visceral rupture of the liver artery, spleen artery, renal artery embolism, etc.
The selection of suitable embolizing materials is the basis for ensuring the success of embolization. At present, the embolization materials are various, and comprise solid spring rings, gelatin sponges, polyethylene particles, liquid absolute ethyl alcohol, medical glue and the like. Among them, gelatin sponge is the most commonly used solid temporary embolization material, and is widely used for the treatment of tumor and hemorrhagic diseases because of its low cost, non-toxicity and good biocompatibility, and gelatin sponge in the body degrades for about 14 days, and blood vessels are restored, which is a characteristic that permanent embolization materials such as a spring ring do not have.
However, the currently available gelatin sponge embolization products are only gelatin sponge particles, which have diameters varying from 150 μm to 2000 μm and do not fully satisfy clinical requirements. For larger vessels, temporary diversion of blood flow, simple central embolization, etc., larger and easily deliverable gelatin sponge embolization materials are needed.
Clinically, doctors adopt self-made gelatin sponge strips to deal with the situations. However, the intraoperative homemade process is time consuming, (volume) unstable, and easily violates sterility requirements. More importantly, an effective delivery system is not available, the gelatin sponge expands when meeting water, and the tube is easily blocked or the embolism is easily failed by directly injecting the gelatin sponge by a syringe.
Aiming at the problems, the invention provides the gelatin sponge strip conveying system for temporary arterial embolism, which meets the requirements, can be widely applied to interventional therapy of central embolism, blood flow diversion and the like of thick and large peripheral blood vessels, and has a very wide prospect.
