An efficient heat-gaining agent for delaying the solidification of molten metal in casting is prepared from aluminium (or Al alloy, or magnesium) powder, Si-Ca powder, oxidizing heat-gaining agent, refractory slag-forming material and metallic oxide (or ore) powder through mixing in proportion. Said metallic oxide powder may be the one of Cu, Fe, Ni or Co, which are respectively used in casting of Cu or Cu-alloy, alloy steel, stainless steel, refractory Fe-base alloy, Ni-base alloy, or Co-base alloy. Its advantages include high finished product rate, basically eliminating shrinkage cavity and loose defects, and no pollution to metal.
Description
