Description

Printing plate gripping system
Technical Field
The invention relates to a printing plate gripping system comprising a gripper and a first gripper support.
Background
The printing plate gripper system is used to transport printing plates from the store to a printing unit of the printing press and, after a printing operation, from the printing unit back into the store. The problem here is that during the return (storage) of the used old plate, ink residues can pass from the old plate onto the gripper support and can contaminate the new plate during the subsequent transfer of the new plate to the printing unit, thereby possibly causing disturbances during the subsequent printing process.
In EP 0336904 a2, an apparatus is described with which printing plates are transported from a conveyor chain, on which grippers are mounted pivotably at an interval of about two meters, to a discharge station. No solution to the above-mentioned problems has been found in the prior art.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a printing plate gripping system with which contamination of the printing plate is avoided.
This object is solved by a printing plate gripping system comprising grippers and a first gripper support, characterized in that at least one second gripper support is provided; and the first and second gripper supports are arranged or supported such that (gelagert) can be adjusted in sequence into a position for cooperation with the gripper.
It is possible with the printing plate gripping system according to the invention for the first gripper support to be directed only to clean new plates and for the second gripper support to be directed only to contaminated old plates, so that the two gripper supports are used alternately, so that in practice no ink residues are transferred from the old plates via these gripper supports onto the new plates. If the two printing plates are transported with their image-bearing side toward the gripper supports, this does not lead to contamination of the new plate by ink residues of the old plate.
Different modifications are possible: the first gripper support and the second gripper support may be arranged on the slide.
Preferably, however, the first gripper support and the second gripper support are arranged on a turret (revoluter). The turret may be rotatable in a stepwise manner by a step-by-step switching mechanism. The step-by-step switching mechanism may have a free turn portion (Freilauf).
The step-by-step switching mechanism can be driven by a gripper shaft on which the gripper is arranged. The turret can be rotated by means of a gripper shaft, on which the gripper is arranged.
The first gripper support, the second gripper support and the further gripper support arranged on the turret may determine the total number of gripper supports. The total number of such gripper supports may be an even number, i.e. an integer multiple of two.
The turret and another such turret may be arranged on a common turret shaft.
The first and second gripper supports and, if present, the further gripper supports of the turret or slide can be configured as projections.
Drawings
The improvement also results from the following description of the embodiments and the attached drawings, in which:
FIG. 1: a device for holding printing plates; and
FIG. 2: side view of the apparatus of fig. 1.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 and 2 show an apparatus which keeps the printing plates stationary during transport. The device is shown in fig. 1 in accordance with the direction of view I indicated in fig. 2 and in fig. 2 in accordance with the direction of view II indicated in fig. 1. The apparatus comprises identically constructed printing plate gripping systems 3, which printing plate gripping systems 3 are held clamped at the edges of the printing plates. The printing plates are not shown collectively in the drawings.
Each printing plate gripping system 3 comprises a gripper 5 and a turret 4, on the periphery of which turret 4 an even number of gripper supports 1, 2 are arranged in an evenly distributed manner, wherein a first gripper support 1 and a second gripper support 2 are comprised. These gripper supports 1, 2 form radial projections and can be switched in a selectable manner into a position for cooperation with the gripper 5. The first gripper support 1 is switched to the cooperating position for a clean new plate, while the second gripper support 2 is for an old plate contaminated with ink residues.
A latch (rasstung) consisting of a sprung pressure block 8 and a row of index holes 9 holds the gripper supports 1, 2 in the cooperating position in such a way that the latch prevents the turret 4 from rotating.
The gripper 5 of the printing plate gripping system 3 is arranged on the gripper shaft 6 and the turret 4 is arranged on the turret shaft 7. The gripper shaft 6 is operated by a roller lever 13 for opening the plate gripping system 3 against the return action of the spring 14. The gripper shaft 6 in this case swings the gripper 5 of the respective printing plate gripper system 3 away from the gripper support 1 or 2 which has been switched into the cooperating position, so that the printing plate clamped between this gripper support and the gripper 5 is released.
When opened, the coupling transmission with the coupling element 10 transmits the movement of the gripper shaft 6 to the idle rotation 11, thereby rotating the turret shaft 7 arranged in the idle rotation 11. The turret 4 of the respective printing plate gripper system 3 is rotated by means of the turret shaft 7 through a circumferential angle determined by the index openings 9. In this switching step, the first gripper support 1 comes out of the cooperating position and the second gripper support 2 reaches the cooperating position. In the next switching step the third gripper support part, which is located in the circumferential array, is brought to the cooperating position, and in the yet next switching step the fourth gripper support part is brought to the cooperating position, and so on.
An adjustable stop 12 in the form of a bolt, against which stop 12 the coupling part 10 stops during switching, defines the switching path. The rocker 15 of the coupling gear, which is arranged on the gripper shaft 6, and the coupling element 10 are connected to one another by a hinge 16. The hinge 16 has a dead path (Totweg) between its pin and its long hole, which allows the gripper shaft 6 to rotate slightly further if the coupling 10 has come to rest on the stop 12. This structure is thus insensitive to tolerances and the stability of the switching path is ensured.
In contrast to the example shown, the switching movement of the turret 4 can also be derived from the closing movement of the gripper 5.
