Description

Subtitle previewing method on display device and display device
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of display technologies, and in particular, to a method for previewing subtitles on a display device and a display device.
Background
Subtitles refer to a representation of a video scene or a character dialog in a video by characters. Subtitles can help users to understand the content of the video in a text reading mode besides sound and pictures. The caption characters and the audio are watched together, and the content of the video can be more clearly expressed. In addition, subtitles also play a special role in helping understanding for users with hearing impairment or language differences.
For common display devices, such as computers, televisions, mobile phones, etc., corresponding players are developed to play videos. Subtitles as an integral function of the player will also provide some favorite settings to the user. Such as allowing the user to set the size of the subtitle text, the color of the subtitle text, the background color of the subtitle display area, and the like. Especially for some subtitles, correct subtitle coding needs to be set, otherwise, the subtitles may be displayed as messy codes and cannot be read normally.
For a video file, the pictures are continuously output, but the subtitles are different. Subtitles require a specific text content to be displayed at a specific time point, and the updating of the subtitles has a certain time interval. Taking a movie as an example, each subtitle is updated in synchronization with the character dialog time. Therefore, the user often cannot view the set effect immediately when the subtitle preference is set, and the user must wait until the subtitle is displayed at the time point when the subtitle is played to view the set effect of the subtitle. The time point for displaying the subtitles is uncertain, and the user needs to wait for the subtitles to appear to view the set effect, so that the waiting time is uncertain. This results in that when the user sets the subtitle, too much time is wasted to wait for the display of the effect, and further causes a problem of poor interactive experience between the user and the display device.

In addition, subtitles also play a special role in helping understanding for users with hearing impairment or language differences.
For a common display device 200, such as a computer, a television, a mobile phone, etc., a corresponding player is developed for playing video.
As shown in fig. 7, the subtitle attribute page may also be displayed on the right side of the user interface, including some options for subtitle attributes such as subtitle encoding, font size, content color, background color, and so on. The user may select any subtitle attribute on the subtitle attribute page to control the display device 200 to display the corresponding attribute page. Meanwhile, the display device 200 displays the subtitle attribute page and also displays the preset display area 201, and preset subtitle content as preview content may be displayed in the preset display area 201, for example, "i have all got this".
When the user selects the subtitle encoding option, the display device 200 may display a subtitle encoding page as shown in fig. 8, where the page includes several options of different encoding modes, such as utf8(Universal Character Set/Universal transform Format 8, 8 bits), gb (GuoBiao, national standard), big5 (big five codes), ios, windows, and so on. The encoding mode indicates a mode of storing the subtitle content in the display apparatus 200, when the display apparatus 200 needs to display the subtitle content, the stored subtitle content needs to be decoded by using a corresponding decoding mode, and the display apparatus 200 may also decode the subtitle content by using a different decoding mode through selection of a different encoding mode by a user.
In the embodiment of the application, one coding mode can correspond to a decoding mode with a unified name, and the corresponding decoding mode can be determined by determining the coding mode of the subtitle content.
When the user selects the text size option, a size page as shown in fig. 9 may be displayed on the display device 200, and a number of size options, such as four, three, etc., may be included on the page. The user can select the corresponding font size according to the preference and viewing habit of the user, and the display device 200 correspondingly adjusts the size of all the characters, letters or symbols in the subtitle content.
When the user selects the content color option, a content color page as shown in fig. 10 may be displayed on the display device 200, and several color options, such as white, black, yellow, red, blue, etc., are included on the page. The user can select the corresponding font color according to the preference and viewing habit of the user, and the display device 200 correspondingly adjusts the color of all the characters, subtitles, symbols and the like of the subtitle content.
When the user selects the background color option, a background color page as shown in fig. 11 may be displayed on the display device 200, and several color options, such as white, black, yellow, red, blue, etc., may be included on the page. The user may select the corresponding background color according to his/her preference and viewing habit, etc., and the display device 200 may set the background color of the subtitle content to be most corresponding. The background of the caption content in the embodiment of the present application refers to an area where no text, letter, or symbol is displayed in the area where the caption content is displayed, which is defined on the user interface. For example, the display device 200 normally plays video content, and usually has a fixed area for displaying subtitle content, in some cases, this area may present a rectangle, and characters, letters, symbols, or the like displayed in the rectangular area may not completely cover the entire rectangular area, and in this case, the uncovered area may be regarded as the background of the subtitle content.
It should be noted that, in the subtitle display area having the background, the color of the background cannot be the same as the color of the subtitle content, thereby avoiding the problem of inability to clearly display the subtitle content.
FIG. 12 shows a schematic diagram of a process for a display device 200 to interact with a user, according to some embodiments. As shown in fig. 12, when the display device 200 plays video content, the user may issue a control instruction to the display device 200 through the control apparatus 100 to control the display device 200 to display a subtitle attribute page. After the display device 200 displays the subtitle attribute page, the preset display area 201 is immediately displayed on the current user interface, and the user can preview the effect of the subtitle attribute setting in this area. In the process of the setting operation, if the user does not select any subtitle attribute, the acquired preset subtitle content or the subtitle attribute effect set by the user last time is directly displayed in the preset display area 201. After the user selects the target attribute on the subtitle attribute page through the control device 100, the display device 200 sets the corresponding attribute of the preset subtitle content, and displays the set display effect in the preset display area 201.
The preset display area 201 in the aforementioned contents always displays the same contents of characters, letters or symbols, except that the attributes of the contents are changed according to the selection of the user.
As can be seen from the foregoing content, the display device 200 in the embodiment of the present application can provide a function of setting subtitles for a user while playing video content, and a display effect after the subtitles are set can be displayed immediately, so that a user can change attributes of the subtitles at any time, display of the effect after the subtitles are set is accelerated, and interaction experience between the user and the display device 200 is also improved.
In order to solve the problem that the setting effect cannot be displayed in real time in the subtitle setting mode provided by the display device 200 for the user, an embodiment of the present application further provides a method for previewing subtitles on a display device, which may be applied to the display device 200 of the foregoing embodiment and executed by the controller 250 in the display device 200. As shown in fig. 13, the method may specifically include the following steps:
step S101, when the display device 200 plays the video content, in response to a user operation of selecting to open a subtitle attribute page on a user interface, acquiring preset subtitle content from a subtitle file corresponding to the video content. Wherein the user interface is displayed by the display 260 of the display device 200.
The preset subtitle content is acquired according to a subtitle content extraction condition preset in the display apparatus 200. For example, the preset condition requires the display apparatus 200 to extract a first piece of subtitle content corresponding to each video content as the preset subtitle content, or the preset condition requires the display apparatus 200 to extract a third piece of subtitle content corresponding to each video content as the preset subtitle content, and so on. In addition, the preset subtitle content, the target subtitle content, and the like in the embodiments of the present application all refer to preview subtitle content used as an effect preview, and do not refer to subtitle content played in real time during video content playing.
During the playing of the video content by the display device 200, the user may want to set the subtitles to display effects that better meet the requirements or preferences of the user. At this time, the user may operate on the user interface where the display device 200 currently plays the video content, and control the display device 200 to display the subtitle attribute page. The subtitle attribute page may be as previously described in fig. 7.
In step S101, after the display device 200 displays the subtitle attribute page, the subtitle file corresponding to the currently played video content may be immediately acquired, and the preset subtitle content may be acquired from the subtitle file. In addition, after the display device 200 displays the subtitle attribute page, a preset display area 201 is also displayed on the current user interface immediately, so that the preset subtitle content is displayed for the user to preview the effect.
Since the display device 200 needs to store the subtitle file in a specific encoding manner when the subtitle file is acquired, each piece of subtitle content also needs to be fetched from the storage space and decoded when the specific content in the subtitle file is displayed. The decoding mode and the coding mode are corresponding, otherwise, the problem that the decoded caption content has messy codes when being displayed occurs.
In some cases, the display apparatus 200 does not know the corresponding encoding method when decoding the subtitle content, and thus it is difficult to determine the decoding method. In the current display device 200, usually, a user sequentially selects a decoding mode on a subtitle coding page, the display device 200 uses the selected decoding mode to decode subtitle content and then displays the decoded subtitle content at a real subtitle playing time point, if the distance between the current decoding mode selecting time point and the real subtitle playing time point is longer, the user needs to wait for a period of time to watch the effect of subtitle display, and if the displayed subtitle is not a messy code, the user can know that the current decoding mode is correct; and if the displayed caption is messy code, the user needs to reselect the decoding mode and then waits for the display effect of the next caption.
It can be seen that, in the current display device 200, the setting effect can only be displayed when the subtitle appears, and a certain time delay exists for the display effect of subtitle decoding, which also affects the user experience. Therefore, in some embodiments, as shown in fig. 14, a preset decoding manner may also be set in the display device 200, and after the preset subtitle content is acquired in step S101, the preset subtitle content is decoded by using the preset decoding manner to acquire the decoded subtitle content. After decoding, the decoded caption content is directly displayed in the preset display area 201, so that the user can know whether decoding is successful by using the preset decoding mode in time, that is, whether the decoded caption content is scrambled. If the scrambled decoded caption content is displayed on the user interface, the user can continuously select other decoding modes on the caption coding page in the caption attribute page to continuously decode the preset caption content.
If normal decoded subtitle content which is not scrambled is displayed on the user interface, the user can continue to select other attribute pages to display on the subtitle attribute page, and further select other attributes of the subtitle to set. For example, the user selects the font size attribute, the display device 200 displays a font size page, and the user selects a certain font size option on the font size page, thereby adjusting the size of the characters, letters, or symbols in the decoded subtitle content in the preset display area 201.
In some cases, when the subtitle content is stored on the display device 200, a flag bit in the encoded subtitle content indicates the encoding mode. Therefore, in some embodiments, after the preset subtitle content is obtained in step S101, it may be determined whether the preset subtitle content includes a flag bit indicating a coding mode, if so, a decoding mode corresponding to the coding mode and the coding mode may be determined according to the flag bit, and the decoding mode is determined as a decoding mode to be selected, and then the preset subtitle content is decoded by using the decoding mode to be selected, so as to obtain the decoded subtitle content.
And if the flag is not included in the preset subtitle content obtained in step S101, decoding the preset subtitle content using a preset decoding method in the display apparatus 200, thereby obtaining decoded subtitle content.
Step S102, responding to the user operation of selecting the target attribute on the subtitle attribute page, and setting the corresponding attribute of the preset subtitle content according to the content of the target attribute to obtain the target subtitle content.
As described in the foregoing, if the decoded subtitle content displayed by the display device 200 in the preset display area 201 is scrambled, the user may continue to select another decoding method on the subtitle attribute page to decode the preset subtitle content again. Further, in step S102, it may be determined whether the user selects a target decoding manner on the subtitle encoding page in the subtitle attribute page, and if the user selects the target decoding manner, the preset subtitle content may be re-encoded using the target decoding manner, so as to obtain the target subtitle content.
Alternatively, if the display device 200 directly displays the preset subtitle content in the preset display area 201, in step S102, the user may also select a target decoding method on the subtitle encoding page in the subtitle attribute page, so that the preset subtitle content is directly decoded by the target decoding method in the display device 200.
In some embodiments, the user may set the font size of the subtitle in addition to the subtitle decoding manner. Further, after the decoded caption content is displayed in the preset display area 201, it may be determined whether the user selects a target font size on the font size page in the caption attribute page. If the user selects the target font size, the font size of the text of the decoded subtitle content can be set according to the target font size, so that the target subtitle content is obtained.
Alternatively, if the display device 200 directly displays the preset subtitle content in the preset display area 201, in step S102, the user may also select a target font size on the font size page of the subtitle attribute page, thereby directly adjusting the font size of the preset subtitle content to the target font size in the display device 200.
In some embodiments, the user may also set the color of the subtitle content. Further, after the decoded subtitle content is displayed within the preset display area 201, it may be determined whether the user selects a target color on a content color page in the subtitle attribute page. If the user selects the target color, the color of the decoded subtitle content may be set according to the target color, thereby obtaining the target subtitle content.
Alternatively, if the display apparatus 200 directly displays the preset subtitle content in the preset display area 201, in step S102, the user may also select a target color on the content color page of the subtitle attribute page, thereby directly adjusting the color of the preset subtitle content to the target color in the display apparatus 200.
In some embodiments, the user may also set the background color of the subtitle content. Further, after the decoded subtitle content is displayed in the preset display area 201, it may be determined whether the user selects a target background color on a background color page in the subtitle attribute page. If the user selects the target background color, the background color of the decoded subtitle content may be set according to the target background color, thereby obtaining the target subtitle content.
Alternatively, if the display device 200 directly displays the preset subtitle content in the preset display area 201, in step S102, the user may also select a target background color on the background color page of the subtitle attribute page, so as to directly adjust the background color of the preset subtitle content to the target background color in the display device 200.
In the above-described contents, after previewing the decoded subtitle content displayed in the preset display area 201, the user may set any one, any several or all of attributes such as subtitle encoding, font size, content color and background color. The target attribute in the embodiment of the present application refers to a target decoding mode selected by a user on a subtitle coding page, a target font size selected by the user on a font size page, a target color selected by the user on a content color page, a target background color selected by the user on a background color page, and the like.
And step S103, displaying the target subtitle content in a preset display area on the user interface.
In the above process of setting the subtitle attribute, the video content may be normally played on the user interface of the display apparatus 200. On the user interface for playing the video content, a preset display area 201 is displayed, and then a display effect for setting the subtitle attribute is displayed in real time. The subtitle content with the set attribute is the target subtitle content in the embodiment of the application. If the display effect of the target subtitle content cannot meet the user's needs or the user's preferences, the user may also re-select the target attribute on the corresponding attribute page.
In some cases, the subtitle content may be normally displayed in the video content normally played by the display device 200, and at a certain time point, the normally displayed subtitle content and the target subtitle content in the preset display area 201 may be simultaneously displayed on the user interface, which may result in that the user cannot determine which subtitle content is the subtitle content with the preview setting effect, thereby affecting the user experience of the user. To avoid this, in some embodiments, the display apparatus 200 may be controlled not to display normally played subtitle content during the process of setting the subtitle attribute by the user.
In some embodiments, in order to avoid the influence of the subtitle content in the video content normally played on the display device 200 on the target subtitle content in the preset display area 201, the video content being played may also be controlled to be paused during the process of setting the subtitle attribute by the user. For example, as shown in fig. 15, when the user selects a subtitle attribute setting operation on the video content interface being played, the display device 200 may pause playing the video content while displaying a subtitle attribute page, and display a preset display area 201 on the currently paused user interface. In addition, the real subtitle content is not displayed on the currently paused user interface.
In some embodiments, the position of the preset display area 201 on the user interface is not fixed, and may also be displayed at other positions on the user interface where the subtitle attribute page is not occluded, for example, at the left side of the user interface as shown in fig. 16, or at the top of the user interface as shown in fig. 17, and the like.
In the foregoing embodiment, if the user sets the background color of the subtitle, when the subtitle is normally displayed, a part of the video content is blocked by the area of the background color, which may affect the viewing experience of the user. To avoid this, in some embodiments, the display device 200 may also set the content for an attribute that provides the user with transparency of the subtitle background, i.e., add a background transparency attribute in the subtitle attribute page along with a transparency page. If the user wants to set the color of the subtitle background and does not want the subtitle background to shield the video content, the user can select a target numerical value on the transparency page, and then the transparency of the subtitle background is set. FIG. 18 illustrates a schematic diagram of a transparency page on a user interface of the display device 200 according to some embodiments, such as shown in FIG. 19, including a number of transparency values thereon, e.g., 0%, 10%, 30%, 50%, 80%, 100%, etc. When the user selects different transparency values, different transparencies of the subtitle background can be displayed on the display device 200. Taking the transparency of 80% as an example, the transparency display effect of the subtitle background is shown in fig. 19.
In some embodiments, different processing modules may also be disposed in the display device 200 to achieve acquisition or processing of different contents, such as a subtitle parsing module, a subtitle setting module, a subtitle display module, and the like. The caption display module can display the caption content, wherein the caption analysis module can analyze the caption content, the caption setting module can set the attribute of the caption content according to the selection of a user or the preset content and the like.
As shown in fig. 20, when the subtitle decoding mode is set, the subtitle setting module calls the subtitle parsing module to obtain a piece of real subtitle content in advance. The caption setting module sets a caption decoding mode, and the caption analyzing module decodes the caption content by using the decoding mode and then sends the decoded caption content to the caption display module for display. Through the steps, the user can immediately preview the display effect after the subtitle decoding setting, the subtitle content can be correctly displayed if the subtitle decoding mode setting is correct, otherwise, messy codes can be displayed, and the user needs to set other decoding modes again for previewing.
In addition, on the basis of the subtitle parsing module, the subtitle setting module, and the subtitle display module, the display device 200 may further add a coding identification module for identifying a coding flag bit in the subtitle content and determining which coding mode is adopted by the subtitle content.
As shown in fig. 21, when the subtitle decoding mode is set, the subtitle setting module calls the subtitle parsing module to obtain a piece of real subtitle content in advance. The caption analysis module sends the caption content to the coding identification module. The coding identification module analyzes the coding mode of the caption content and then returns the analysis result to the caption setting module. The caption setting module updates the user interface according to the analyzed coding mode, highlights the corresponding coding option in the caption coding page, and sets the decoding mode corresponding to the coding mode to the caption analyzing module. And the subtitle analysis module decodes the subtitle content according to the set decoding mode and then sends the decoded subtitle content to the subtitle display module for display.
And when the user sets other attributes, the subtitle setting module may also send the corresponding attribute values or attribute options to the subtitle display module for display.
In the embodiment of the present application, although the foregoing subtitle parsing module, subtitle setting module, subtitle display module, encoding identification module, and the like may be added, these processing modules are controlled by the controller 250 of the display device 200 to implement specific processing functions.
When the subtitle attribute setting is completed, the user may continue to operate the display apparatus 200 and the controller to close the current subtitle attribute page. Therefore, after step S103, if the display apparatus 200 receives an operation of the user selecting to close the subtitle attribute page, the display apparatus 200 may be controlled to close the preset display area 201 while closing the subtitle attribute page. And controlling all contents corresponding to the current video content on the display device 200 to be set and displayed according to the attribute selected by the user.
If the video content on the display device 200 is in a pause playing state when the subtitle attribute is set, after the display device 200 is controlled to broadcast the subtitle attribute page and the preset display area 201, the video content is further controlled to continue playing, and all subtitle content corresponding to the video content is displayed according to the attribute selected by the user.
It should be noted that the subtitle attributes mentioned in the embodiment of the present application include, but are not limited to, the attributes listed in the foregoing contents, and in the process of actually using the display device 200, the display requirements of the user for the subtitle content may be taken as the attributes of the subtitle content, and the setting manner may refer to the contents in the foregoing embodiments, which is not described herein again.
As can be seen from the above, the embodiment of the present application provides a method for previewing subtitles on a display device and a display device, so that a user can set the subtitle attributes of a video content while the display device 200 plays the video content. And after the attribute is set, the display effect after the setting can be directly displayed on the display device 200 in real time, so that the user can conveniently set the attribute in time, the subtitle setting effect can be prevented from being displayed only when the subtitle content is synchronously displayed on the video content, the time for the user to wait for the effect display is saved, and the experience of the user in using the display device 200 is further ensured.
Finally, it should be noted that: the above embodiments are only used for illustrating the technical solutions of the present application, and not for limiting the same; although the present application has been described in detail with reference to the foregoing embodiments, it should be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that: the technical solutions described in the foregoing embodiments may still be modified, or some or all of the technical features may be equivalently replaced; and the modifications or the substitutions do not make the essence of the corresponding technical solutions depart from the scope of the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application.
