Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of powder coating preparation, and particularly relates to a weather-resistant powder coating.
Background
The powder coating is a solid powdery synthetic resin coating composed of solid resin, a filler, an auxiliary agent and the like; it has no solvent pollution and thus may be used widely. The Chinese invention patent CN113321992A discloses an antibacterial powder coating, which takes polyester resin and epoxy resin as composite raw materials, takes single nano-silver as an antibacterial agent, and is added with high-temperature resistant filler; therefore, the prepared antibacterial powder coating not only has antibacterial performance, but also has high temperature resistance.
Although, chinese invention patent CN113321992A discloses an antibacterial powder coating with antibacterial property and high temperature resistance; but the photo-oxidative aging resistance is required to be further improved, and the salt spray resistance is not good. Therefore, the powder coating prepared by the Chinese invention patent CN113321992A has poor outdoor weather resistance, and is easy to age and corrode by salt fog.
Disclosure of Invention

In the process of preparing the powder coating by using the epoxy resin and/or the polyester resin as main raw materials, the weather-resistant composition consisting of the light stabilizer, the antioxidant and the titanium dioxide is added; the prepared powder coating has certain photooxidation aging resistance, and the outdoor weather resistance of the powder coating prepared by taking epoxy resin and/or polyester resin as main raw materials is improved; in addition, the inventor researches and discovers that the salt spray resistance of the powder coating can be improved by adding titanium dioxide.
Preferably, in the weather-resistant composition, the weight ratio of the light stabilizer to the antioxidant to the titanium dioxide is 1-3: 1-5: 20-40.
Preferably, in the weather-resistant composition, the weight ratio of the light stabilizer to the antioxidant to the titanium dioxide is 2:3: 30.
Preferably, the titanium dioxide is modified titanium dioxide;
the modified titanium dioxide is prepared by the following method:
(1) uniformly mixing titanium dioxide and polydimethylsiloxane to obtain a mixture;
(2) calcining the mixture for 1-3 h under the oxygen-enriched condition to obtain a solid; and grinding the obtained solid product uniformly to obtain the modified titanium dioxide.
After a great deal of experimental study, the inventor surprisingly found that: in the weather-resistant composition, the modified titanium dioxide obtained by modifying polydimethylsiloxane through the method replaces titanium dioxide, so that the salt spray resistance of the powder coating can be greatly improved.
Further preferably, the weight ratio of the titanium dioxide to the polydimethylsiloxane in the step (1) is 1: 1-2.
Optimally, the weight ratio of the titanium dioxide to the polydimethylsiloxane in the step (1) is 1: 1.5.
Further preferably, the oxygen-enriched condition in the step (2) means that the volume content of oxygen in the air is 30-40%;
preferably, the oxygen-enriched condition in step (2) means that the volume content of oxygen in the air is 35%.
Further preferably, the weather-resistant composition further comprises a dispersant; the dispersing agent is composed of microcrystalline paraffin and calcium stearate; wherein the weight ratio of the microcrystalline paraffin to the calcium stearate is 2-3: 1.
The inventor further shows in the research that under the condition of a certain dosage of the weather-resistant composition, the dispersing agent plays an important role in further improving the salt spray resistance of the powder coating by the weather-resistant composition; the research shows that: the dispersing agent consisting of microcrystalline paraffin and calcium stearate is added into the weather-resistant composition, so that the salt spray resistance of the powder coating can be further greatly improved; and the salt spray resistance of the powder coating is not obviously improved by adopting other dispersing agents.
Further preferably, the weight ratio of the light stabilizer to the antioxidant to the dispersing agent to the titanium dioxide is 1-3: 1-5: 1-3: 20-40.
Most preferably, the weight ratio of the light stabilizer, the antioxidant, the dispersing agent and the titanium dioxide in the weather-resistant composition is 2:3:2: 30.
Further preferably, the weight of the weather-resistant composition accounts for 20-40% of the total weight of the weather-resistant powder coating raw material.
Preferably, the light stabilizer is bis (2,2',6,6' -tetramethylpiperidyl) sebacate; the antioxidant is pentaerythritol dioctadecyl diphosphite.
Has the advantages that: the invention firstly prepares the powder coating by taking the epoxy resin and/or the polyester resin as the main raw materials, and adds the weather-resistant composition consisting of the light stabilizer, the antioxidant and the titanium dioxide; after the weather-resistant composition is added, the prepared powder coating has certain photo-oxidative aging resistance and salt spray resistance; greatly improves the outdoor weather resistance of the powder coating prepared by taking the epoxy resin and/or the polyester resin as main raw materials.

Respectively spraying the powder coating prepared in examples 1-7 and the powder coating prepared in proportion 1 on iron plates with the length, width and thickness of 30cm, 20cm and 0.2mm by using an electrostatic spray gun, placing the iron plate to be tested into a salt spray experimental box after the coating is cured, placing the test iron plate at an angle of 25 degrees, spraying according to the spraying amount of 10%, and observing the result after 168 hours; the results are shown in Table 1.
TABLE 1 salt spray resistance test results for weather resistant powder coatings of the present invention
As can be seen from the experiment in Table 1, the powder coating prepared from the epoxy resin and the polyester resin in the comparative example 1 has the coating falling off and the salt spray resistance is poor without adding the weather-resistant composition. However, the weather-resistant composition consisting of the light stabilizer, the antioxidant and the titanium dioxide is added, and only slight falling occurs, so that the falling condition of the coating is improved; this shows that the addition of the weather-resistant composition comprising the light stabilizer, the antioxidant and the titanium dioxide in the process of preparing the powder coating by using the epoxy resin and the polyester resin as raw materials can improve the salt spray resistance of the powder coating.
It can also be seen from the experiments in table 1 that the modified titanium dioxide modified from polydimethylsiloxane by the method of the present invention is used in the weatherable composition described in example 2 in place of titanium dioxide, and the coating layer is only slightly bubbled; this indicates that: the modified titanium dioxide obtained by polydimethylsiloxane through modification by the method of the invention is adopted in the weather-resistant composition to replace titanium dioxide, so that the salt spray resistance of the powder coating can be greatly improved.
As can also be seen from the experiments in table 1, the weatherable composition described in example 3 was further prepared by adding a dispersant consisting of microcrystalline paraffin and calcium stearate; the coating thereof is unchanged; this demonstrates that the dispersant plays an important role in further improving the salt spray resistance of the powder coating for weatherable compositions; the research shows that: the dispersant consisting of microcrystalline paraffin and calcium stearate is added into the weather-resistant composition, so that the salt spray resistance of the powder coating can be further greatly improved.
As can be seen from the experiments in Table 1, the coatings obtained in examples 4-7 after the experiments have slight bubbling as in example 2; this indicates that: the dispersant plays an important role in whether the salt spray resistance of the weather-resistant composition can be further improved; by adopting the weather-resistant composition, the salt spray resistance of the powder coating prepared by taking the epoxy resin and the polyester resin as raw materials can be improved without randomly selecting a dispersing agent or randomly selecting a combination of the dispersing agent; the salt spray resistance of the powder coating prepared by taking the epoxy resin and the polyester resin as raw materials can be further greatly improved only by adding the dispersant consisting of the microcrystalline paraffin and the calcium stearate into the weather-resistant composition.
