Abstract
The invention claims an assembly method for applying a protruding support to a front part of a shelf or drawer, the front part being adapted to support the bottom plane of the shelf or drawer, the method having the following steps: -applying two or more dowels perpendicular to the surface of the shelf or drawer, -aligning the dowels along an axis, -coupling the protruding support to the dowel by inserting the dowel in turn in complementary cavities present in the support. The invention also claims a front part of a shelf or drawer, the front part comprising: an elongated support projecting from a surface capable of supporting the shelf or the bottom plane of the drawer, facing in the use condition towards the drawer or the surface of the centre of the shelf, said surface comprising a protruding element coupled to the elongated support by inserting the protruding element in a complementary longitudinal cavity present in the projecting support.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention generally relates to mounting systems and methods for shelves or drawers for furniture.
Background
Furniture shelves or drawers, in particular wooden shelves or drawers, are constructed by combining four sides to form a square or rectangular frame for supporting a bottom plane. The usual technique is to form a C-shaped piece by fixing together three sides-the bottom and sides of a drawer or shelf, followed by a connection to the front.
The front portion is often just a wooden panel, secured to the C-shaped member with some anchoring elements. In order to support the bottom plane, on the surface of the table facing the inside of the drawer, an elongated profile is fitted, which will act as a support for the edge of the shelf.
Currently, the elongated profile is attached to the plate by means of a sleeve inserted with pressure into a hole of the plate, but this mounting method has several drawbacks. The casing is very expensive and the drilling of the plate must be very precise. Even if only holes are misaligned or misaligned (out of pitch), the assembly may not be as standard.
Disclosure of Invention
The main object of the present invention is to improve the prior art, the invention being defined by the appended claims, wherein the dependent claims define advantageous variants.
Another object is to provide a shelf or drawer of the above-mentioned type which is simple to manufacture and easy to assemble.
Another object is to provide a shelf or drawer of the above-mentioned type which can be produced cost-effectively.
Another object is to provide an assembly method for a shelf or drawer of the above-mentioned type which is simple and easy to implement.
One aspect of the invention relates to an assembly method for applying a projecting support adapted to support a bottom plane of a shelf or drawer to a front part of the shelf or drawer, having the following steps:
applying two or more dowels/dowels overhangingly on the surface of the shelf or drawer, so that said two or more dowels are aligned along an axis,
the support is coupled to the dowel by inserting the dowel in turn into complementary cavities present in the protruding support.
Aspects of the invention relate to a front part of a shelf or drawer, which can be applied to three other sides to form a rectangular frame, the front part comprising:
the surface facing the centre of the drawer or shelf in the use position,
an elongated support projecting from a surface adapted to support a bottom plane of a shelf or drawer,
the surface comprises a raised element coupled to the elongated support by inserting the raised element into a complementary longitudinal cavity present in the protruding support.
The surface comprises a protruding element which is coupled to the elongated support by inserting it in a complementary longitudinal cavity present in the protruding support.
As a preferred variant, the surface comprises two or more raised elements aligned along an axis and the raised elements are coupled to the elongated support by inserting them in complementary longitudinal cavities present in the protruding support.
As a preferred variant, the surface is flat.
As a preferred variant, the elongated support is an elongated profile, for example made of plastic or metal.
As a preferred variant, the elongated support comprises a longitudinal groove extending parallel to the longitudinal cavity so as to face the bottom plane in the use condition.
As a preferred variant, the cavity and/or the longitudinal groove of the elongated support have a T-shaped cross-section.
As a preferred variant, the cavity and/or the longitudinal groove of the elongated support extends substantially over the entire length of the elongated support.
As a preferred variant, the or each protruding element is a dowel applied to said surface, for example fixed to said surface by screws.
As a preferred variant, the cross-section of the protruding element comprises a portion with a smaller cross-section and a portion with a larger cross-section, the portion with the larger cross-section being the portion further from the surface.
Aspects of the invention relate to a shelf or drawer applicable to the other three sides to form a rectangular frame, comprising a front part as defined in one or each of the preceding variants.
Aspects of the present invention relate to a shelf or drawer comprising a rectangular or square frame, the shelf or drawer being formed by:
a front part as defined in one or each of the preceding variants, and
three sides.

figure 1 shows a schematic plan view of a drawer or shelf for furniture;

figure 6 shows a vertical cross-sectional view of the component in figure 2 taken along the plane VI-VI shown in figure 4.
Detailed Description
In the drawings, like reference numbers indicate identical or conceptually similar parts, and elements are described as in use. Some reference numerals are omitted in order not to crowd the drawings.
Fig. 1 shows a shelf or drawer 12, the shelf or drawer 12 comprising a frame formed by a front section 14, a bottom section 16 and two side sections 18. The sections 16, 18 are, for example, tubular members, with the ends cut at 90 degrees to fit together. The sections 14, 16, 18 are assembled to form a generally rectangular or square frame. The bottom of the shelf 12 is indicated at 20 and in the use position lies in a horizontal plane.
To mount the shelf or drawer 12, the front section 14 is secured to a C-shaped assembly formed by the combination of a bottom section 16 and two side sections 18.
The front section 14 is constituted by a flat plate 30 or comprises a flat plate 30, the flat plate 30 having a main surface S facing the bottom section 16 in the use state, i.e. facing the interior of the drawer or shelf 12.
On the surface S, an anchoring element 42 is fixed, for example with a screw 40, near the end of the plate 30, the screw 40 and the anchoring element 42 being adapted to couple the plate 30 to the free end of the segment 18.
On the surface S, pairs of holes 50 are made centrally, by means of which holes 50 some dowels 54 are attached to the surface S with screws 52. All of the holes 50 are aligned so that the dowels 54 are on the same X-axis, see fig. 3.
With reference to fig. 6, the dowel 54 is a block, for example parallelepiped-shaped, and comprises a section or head 56, which section or head 56 has a larger or enlarged cross section, said section or head 56 projecting in an overhanging manner from the surface S.
The rows of dowels 54 form guides for coupling the elongated profile 60 to the plate 30, see fig. 4 and 6. The elongated profile 60 is a strip 62 extending elongated along an axis, the strip 62 comprising a cavity 64 and a bracket 66.
The cavity 64 is complementary in a negative manner to the shape/volume of the dowel 54, while the bracket 66 remains horizontal in the use condition.
The elongated profile 60 is coupled to the dowel 54 by having the cavity 64 facing the surface S.
The elongated profile 60 is then slid horizontally parallel to the surface S from the edge of the plate 30 towards the centre (see arrow F), inserting in sequence the dowels 54 one at a time into the cavities 64.
Referring to fig. 5, at the end, the elongated profile 60 is integral with the plate 30 on the surface S, and the elongated profile 60 cannot be disengaged from the dowel 54 (unless extracted in the opposite direction) due to the segment or head 56.
Thus, the elongated profile 60 can serve as a support for the bottom 18 when the assembly is complete. Preferably, the bracket 66 includes a longitudinal groove 68, for example, having a T-shaped cross-section. The longitudinal groove 68 is placed in front of the surface S in the condition of use, for example oriented upwards, and serves for slidingly fixing an element with a complementary T-shaped projecting head or for anchoring the internal components of the drawer or shelf 12.
It should be noted that:
the number of dowels 54 may vary, even if only one dowel 54 is required if dowel 54 is long enough; and
the shape of the dowel 54 may vary, it being sufficient if the dowel 54 protrudes from the plate 30 to support the elongated profile 60. The presence of the head 56 creates a linear prism pair between the dowel and the elongated profile, which is advantageous, since it prevents the elongated profile 60 from coming out,
but is not required.
Even the manner in which the dowel is secured to the plate 30 may vary, such as by adhesive. Alternatively, the plate 30 may be made by: on which one or more protruding parts functionally similar to the dowel 54 are integrally made. This is easy if, for example, the plate 30 is a piece molded from plastic. The plate 30 is preferably made of wood.
It should be noted that the support for the plane 20 can be a single elongated profile 60, or a group of several smaller elongated profiles arranged along the X-axis. This facilitates, for example, assembly, avoiding the insertion of many dowels 54 along the long travel of the elongated profile 60.
Claims (9)
1. An assembly method for applying a projecting support (54) adapted to support a bottom plane (60) of a shelf or drawer to a front component (30) of said shelf or drawer, having the following steps:
applying two or more dowels (54) cantilevered on a surface of the shelf or drawer such that the two or more dowels are aligned along an axis (X),
the support (54) is coupled to the dowel by inserting the dowel in turn in complementary cavities (56) present in the protruding support.
2. A front part (30) of a shelf or drawer, applicable to three other sides to form a rectangular frame, comprising:
the surface facing the centre of the drawer or shelf in the situation of use,
an elongated support (60) protruding from a surface adapted to support a bottom plane of said shelf or drawer,
the surface comprises a raised element (54) coupled to the elongated support by inserting it in a complementary longitudinal cavity (58) present in the protruding support.
3. The component according to claim 2, wherein said surface comprises two or more raised elements aligned along an axis (X), said raised elements being coupled to said elongated support by inserting them in complementary longitudinal cavities present in said protruding support.
4. A component according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the surface is flat.
5. A component according to any preceding claim, wherein the elongate support is an elongate profile, for example of plastics or metal.
6. A component according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the elongate support comprises a longitudinal groove extending parallel to the longitudinal cavity so as to face the bottom plane in a use condition.
7. A component according to any preceding claim, wherein the cavity and/or the longitudinal groove of the elongate support has a T-shaped cross-section.
8. A component according to any preceding claim, wherein the cavity and/or the longitudinal groove of the elongate support extends substantially the entire length of the elongate support.
9. A component according to any preceding claim, wherein the or each raised element is a dowel applied to the surface, for example secured thereto by means of a screw.
