Abstract

A conversion device, an electronic device using the same and a color display screen device are provided, wherein the conversion device comprises: a plurality of hardware circuits electrically connected with each other for receiving the input data provided by the control circuit and drawing according to the input data to generate color frame data to the color display screen; wherein the input data includes a control signal, a string signal, a digital signal or a symbol signal. The conversion device provided by the invention can convert black-white or gray-scale image frames displayed by the electronic device in the prior art into color display screens for display, and the color display screens are used for replacing a black-white liquid crystal display and a pixel display.

Technical Field
The present invention relates to a conversion device for converting black and white or gray scale frames displayed by an existing electronic device into color display screens, and an electronic device and a color display screen device using the conversion device.
Background
In the prior art, the home appliance, the machine tool, the processing machine, the watch, the computer or other electronic devices may use a black and white or gray-scale pixel display or a black and white liquid crystal display (e.g., a seven-segment black and white liquid crystal display or a black and white dot matrix liquid crystal display) to display some information, and therefore, the signal output by the electronic device to the pixel display or the black and white liquid crystal display may be a plurality of black and white or gray-scale pixel signals of a frame, a control signal, more than one character string signal, more than one digital signal or more than one symbol signal. However, as color display panels (e.g., color liquid crystal display panels) are popularized, the number of pixel displays or black and white liquid crystal displays is reduced, so that the manufacturing cost of the pixel displays or black and white liquid crystal displays is higher than that of the color display panels.
First, referring to fig. 1, an electronic device 1 of the prior art includes a control circuit 11 and a black and white liquid crystal display 12, wherein the control circuit 11 is electrically connected to the black and white liquid crystal display 12 (or a black-and-white or gray-scale pixel display), and outputs a control signal, a digital signal, a string signal or a symbol signal to control the black and white liquid crystal display 12 to display a black and white frame with corresponding information. For example, the electronic device 1 may be a local telephone device, and the control circuit 11 may control the black and white liquid crystal display to display numbers according to the touched key. As can be understood from the descriptions of fig. 1 and fig. 2, the color lcd cannot be directly substituted for the pixel display or the black-and-white lcd due to the different data formats. Therefore, when the pixel display or the black and white liquid crystal display of the electronic device is broken or failed and needs to be replaced, the technical problem of expensive maintenance cost may be faced.
Disclosure of Invention

The embodiment of the invention provides a conversion device capable of converting black and white or gray scale image frames displayed by an electronic device in the prior art into color display screens, so that even if a pixel display or a black and white liquid crystal display of the electronic device in the prior art is damaged or fails, the pixel display or the black and white liquid crystal display which is damaged or fails can be replaced by the existing color display screen (for example, a color liquid crystal display screen) through the conversion device as an intermediate interface, thereby achieving the purpose and the effect of reducing the maintenance cost.
When the input data received by the conversion device is a control signal, more than one character string signal, more than one digital signal or more than one symbol signal, the conversion device draws according to the control signal, more than one character string signal, more than one digital signal or more than one symbol signal to generate color frame data; when the input data received by the conversion device is a plurality of pixel signals of black-white or gray-scale image frames, the conversion device converts the plurality of pixel signals of the black-white or gray-scale image frames into color image frame data and directly provides the color image frame data to the color display screen to display the corresponding color image frames. More specifically, the frame refresh rate of a color display panel is usually at least 30 frames per second, but the input data output by the control circuit of the electronic device in the prior art does not correspond to the frame refresh rate in the prior art, and usually the input data output by the control circuit may be slower, so that the prior art generates the corresponding reference clock and increases the output rate of the color frame data to make the output rate of the color frame data consistent with the frame refresh rate in the prior art. The conversion device of the embodiment of the invention does not receive the input clock and generates the reference clock to adjust the output rate of the color frame data. When the input data received by the conversion device is changed, the color display screen displays the color frame of the existing color frame data before the color frame data of the new frame is completely received by the color display screen, and the new color frame is not displayed until the color frame data of the new frame is completely received by the color display screen, so that the color display screen changes the displayed color frame in a manner similar to an interruption. Although this method will cause the user to feel the frame discontinuity, the black and white lcd or pixel display of the electronic device in the prior art is mainly aimed at displaying information, so that the user's experience of the dynamic frame quality is not considered, and the user's experience of the dynamic frame quality is not considered. Furthermore, the above method can use a hardware circuit with lower cost and lower processing speed, so that the manufacturing cost of the conversion device of the embodiment of the invention is not high, and the overall cost of the conversion device and the color display screen is far lower than that of the conventional black and white liquid crystal display and the pixel display.
Having described the inventive concepts of the present invention, further details of various embodiments of the invention are set forth. Referring to fig. 3, in the first embodiment, the electronic device 3 includes a control circuit 11 and a color display device 30, wherein the control circuit 11 is electrically connected to the color display device 30. The control circuit 11 is used for outputting a control signal, a digital signal, a character string signal or a symbol signal to control the black-white liquid crystal display to display a corresponding black-white image frame, or the control circuit 11 is used for outputting a pixel signal of a black-white or gray-scale image frame to drive the pixel display to display the black-white or gray-scale image frame with corresponding information.
The color display device 30 has a conversion device 31 and the color liquid crystal display 2, wherein the conversion device 31 is electrically connected to the timing controller 21 of the color liquid crystal display 2. The color liquid crystal display 2 includes a timing controller 21, a source driver 22, a gate driver 23 and a liquid crystal display panel 24, wherein the functions and connections of the timing controller 21, the source driver 22, the gate driver 23 and the liquid crystal display panel 24 are as described above, and thus are not described herein again.
The conversion device 31 includes a plurality of hardware circuits electrically connected to each other, and the conversion device 31 can convert the input data (i.e. the control signal, the digital signal, the string signal, the symbol signal or the pixel signal of the black-and-white or gray-scale frame outputted by the control circuit 31) received by the conversion device 31 to generate the color frame data to be provided to the frame buffer of the timing controller 21 for buffering. Thus, the color liquid crystal display panel 2 can display a color frame corresponding to information corresponding to the control signal, the digital signal, the character string signal, the symbol signal, or the pixel signal of the black-and-white or gray-scale frame outputted from the control circuit 31. In short, the color display panel device 30 formed by integrating the conversion device 31 with the color liquid crystal display panel 2 can be directly used to replace a black-and-white liquid crystal display or a pixel display. In addition, when the input data outputted to the conversion device 31 by the control circuit 11 is the pixel signal of the black-and-white or gray-scale frame, the conversion device 31 performs the color gamut conversion on the pixel signal of the black-and-white or gray-scale frame to obtain the corresponding color frame data, wherein a plurality of hardware circuits of the conversion device 31 can be configured as a computing unit to realize the color gamut conversion on the pixel signal of the black-and-white or gray-scale frame. Furthermore, the conversion device 31 itself does not receive the input clock and generates the reference clock to adjust the output rate of the color frame data so that the output rate of the color frame data corresponds to the common frame refresh rate, so that the color liquid crystal display 2 changes the displayed color frame in an interrupted manner when the input data of the conversion device 31 changes.
Referring to fig. 4, in the second embodiment, the hardware circuits of the conversion device 31 include an instruction decoding unit 311, a font searching unit 312, a rendering unit 313 and a display control unit 314, wherein the instruction decoding unit 311 is electrically connected to the font searching unit 312, the font searching unit 312 is electrically connected to the rendering unit 313, and the rendering unit 313 is electrically connected to the display control unit 314. The command interpretation unit 311 interprets the commands issued by the control circuit according to the commands, such as: updating fonts, updating strings, text whitereversing … …, and the like. The font searching unit 312, the drawing unit 313 and the display control unit 314 can be directly controlled to perform corresponding operations.
The command interpretation unit 311 can interpret the command issued by the control circuit, i.e. can interpret the type of the input data and analyze the command. For example, when the input data is determined to be a control signal, a digital signal, a string signal or a symbol signal, the command interpretation unit 311 controls the font searching unit 312 to search the font to find out the corresponding character pattern, the drawing unit 313 embeds the resolution of the character pattern and the lcd panel to the appropriate position of the screen bottom frame according to the result found by the font searching unit 312 with programmable scale and transparency to complete the drawing operation and generate the corresponding frame, and the display control unit 314 converts the frame drawn by the drawing unit 313 directly or after rotating the frame into a timing control signal (i.e., color frame data) acceptable for the color lcd.
