Description

Sliding rail assembly
Technical Field
The invention relates to a slide rail assembly, in particular to a slide rail assembly which can be arranged on two different machine frames.
Background
For example, U.S. patent No. 6,655,534 B2 discloses an adjustable rack slide for a double mount configuration. The rack slide rail comprises a first rail and a second rail which are opposite in position. Each of the rails includes a first bracket (front bracket), a second bracket (rear bracket), and a third bracket detachably connected between the first bracket and the second bracket of each of the rails. Wherein the third bracket of each rail is capable of being in a first position, and each rail is capable of being mounted to a first type of mast (such as shown in fig. 1 and 2 thereof) via the third bracket in the first position; alternatively, after the third brackets of each rail are turned 180 degrees and exchanged, the third brackets of each rail may be in a second position, and each rail may be mounted to the second type of column (for example, as shown in fig. 3 and 4) by the third brackets in the second position. However, the bracket disclosed in this publication has a pair of long holes on the body, which affects the structural strength of the bracket and is not suitable for being installed on a four-column frame.
For example, U.S. Pat. No. 8,083,298 B2 discloses a slide rail comprising a bracket support, a first tool-less connecting bracket, a second tool-less connecting bracket, a first tool-requiring connecting bracket and a second tool-requiring connecting bracket. The first and second tool-less connecting brackets are connected to the bracket support, and the first and second tool-requiring connecting brackets are connected to the bracket support. The first and second tool-free connecting brackets are used for connecting to a first column and a second column of the four-column type rack, and the first and second tool-required connecting brackets are used for connecting to two opposite sides of a column body of the two-column type rack. In particular, a rear bracket mount is adjustably displaceable relative to the bracket support, and the rear bracket includes the second tool-less attachment bracket and the second tool-requiring attachment bracket. When the rear carriage mount is in a first rear support position, the second tool-requiring attachment carriage is located approximately at a rear of the carriage support and supports an information handling system in a tool-requiring manner (e.g., as shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B); when the rear carriage mount is in a second rear support position, the second tool-less connection carriage is located approximately at the rear of the carriage support and supports the information handling system in a tool-less manner (e.g., as shown in fig. 2A and 2B). However, the limited adjustment travel of the bracket disclosed in this case is not conducive to use in a four-column server rack having a relatively deep installation depth. The above problems are also encountered in the two publications of US 7,134,558B1 and US 7,866,488B2.
In recent years, with the difference of market demands, it is sometimes not desirable to achieve that the slide rail assembly can be mounted on at least two different types of racks in the manner of the four patent publications, and therefore, how to develop a different slide rail product to allow the market to have more different choices becomes an issue to be discussed.

As shown in fig. 5, the second bracket device 26 is adjustable to a first predetermined position P1 relative to the rail member 22. When the second bracket device 26 is in the first predetermined position P1, the resilient member 89 and the first opening 87a of the first bracket device 24 (the first longitudinal portion 54) are at a predetermined longitudinal distance from each other.
As shown in fig. 5 and 6, the second bracket device 26 can be adjusted and displaced from the first predetermined position P1 to a first direction D1 to a second predetermined position P2 (see fig. 6) relative to the rail 22. When the second bracket device 26 is at the second predetermined position P2, the elastic member 89 provides the elastic force F1 for detachably engaging with a retaining wall 104 of the first opening 87a of the first bracket device 24 (the first longitudinal portion 54) and/or the second opening 87b of the rail member 22. For example, when the latching feature 98 of the elastic member 89 is latched to the first opening 87a and/or the second opening 87b in response to the elastic force F1 of the elastic portion 96, the latching end 99 of the latching feature 98 can abut against the blocking wall 104 to prevent the second bracket device 26 from being displaced from the second predetermined position P2 to the first direction D1. It should be noted that the second bracket device 26 can be displaced from the second predetermined position P2 to the first predetermined position P1 in a second direction D2 opposite to the first direction D1 relative to the rail 22.
As shown in fig. 7 and 8, when the second bracket device 26 is to be detached from one of the rail member 22 and the first bracket device 24, a user can apply an operating force F2 to the operating portion 94 of the elastic member 89 to overcome the elastic force F1, so that the latching end 99 of the latching feature 98 of the elastic portion 96 of the elastic member 89 is unlatched from the blocking wall 104 of the first opening 87a and/or the second opening 87b, and the second bracket device 26 can be detached from one of the rail member 22 and the first bracket device 24 from the second predetermined position P2 in the first direction D1.
As shown in fig. 9 and 10, two slide rail assemblies 20 according to the embodiments of the present invention can be applied to a first type of rack. This first type of frame is for example a four-column frame with four columns. Specifically, the first type of frame has a first side and a second side, both of which are provided with a first post 106a and a second post 106b spaced apart from each other by a longitudinal distance. The two rail assemblies 20 can be mounted on the first side and the second side. For example, the first bracket device 24 and the second bracket device 26 of each slide assembly 20 can be used to provide mounting of the rail member 22 to the first type of rack. The at least one first mounting member 30 of the first bracket device 24 is configured to be correspondingly mounted to the at least one first column hole H1 of the first column 106a, and the at least one second mounting member 38 of the second bracket device 26 is configured to be correspondingly mounted to the at least one second column hole H2 of the second column 106b.
Preferably, the first bracket device 24 and the second bracket device 26 are provided with fasteners, and in the case of the second bracket device 26, the fasteners 44 of the second bracket device 26 can be retained in the locking position K1 in response to the elastic force of the elastic member 46, such that the fastening portions 52 of the fasteners 44 are adjacent to the at least one second mounting member 38, and the fastening portions 52 of the fasteners 44 can be used to lock the second posts 106b. It should be noted that the second carriage assembly 26 is displaceable relative to the rail member 22 (or the first carriage assembly 24) to any position, as illustrated in fig. 10, such as the second carriage assembly 26 being in the second predetermined position P2.
As shown in fig. 11, the second carriage device 26 is displaceable relative to the rail member 22 (or the first carriage device 24) to be in the first predetermined position P1. A first length L1 is defined between the second mounting portion 38 of the second bracket device 26 and the first mounting portion 30 of the first bracket device 24, such that the slide rail assembly 20 can be used for the first type of rack having a first longitudinal depth relative to the first column 106a and the second column 106b. In contrast, as shown in fig. 10, when the second bracket device 26 is at the second predetermined position P2 relative to the rail member 22 (or the first bracket device 24), a second length L2 defined between the second mounting portion 38 of the second bracket device 26 and the first mounting portion 30 of the first bracket device 24 is longer than the first length L1, so that the slide rail assembly 20 can be used for the first type of rack having a second longitudinal depth between the first column 106a and the second column 106b.
As shown in fig. 12 and 13, when the slide rail assembly 20 is mounted to the first column 106a and the second column 106b of the first type rack via the first bracket device 24 and the second bracket device 26, if the slide rail assembly 20 is to be dismounted from the first type rack, the fastener 44 can be operated from the locking position K1 to pivot to an unlocking position K2 in a tool-free manner, so that the fastener portion 52 of the fastener 44 fails to lock the second column 106b, the second bracket device 26 can be dismounted from the second column 106b, and the first bracket device 24 can also be dismounted from the first column 106 a.
As shown in fig. 14 and 15, the slide rail assembly 20 further includes a first bracket member 108 and/or a second bracket member 110. Further, when second bracket device 26 is removed from one of rail member 22 and first bracket device 24 (as can be seen in fig. 8), first bracket member 108 and second bracket member 110 are removably mounted to one of rail member 22 and first bracket device 24, e.g., first bracket member 108 and second bracket member 110 are removably mounted to first side wall 28 of first bracket device 24, and first bracket member 108 and second bracket member 110 are adjustable to be displaceable along the length of rail member 22.
Preferably, first bracket member 108 and second bracket member 110 have substantially the same structural configuration. Taking first bracket member 108 as an example, first bracket member 108 includes a base 111 and a mounting portion 112 that are bent substantially perpendicular with respect to base 111, wherein base 111 is provided with at least one longitudinal feature 114 (e.g., without limitation, a slot) having a boundary, and mounting portion 112 is provided with at least one mounting feature 116 (e.g., without limitation, a hole).
Preferably, first bracket member 108 and second bracket member 110 are mountable to first side wall 28 of first bracket assembly 24 along second direction D2, and each bracket member 108, 110 is lockable to mounting feature 58 of rail member 22 by at least one fastener, such as a first fastener 118a and a second fastener 118b (e.g., bolts or screws), passing through a portion of longitudinal feature 114, such that first bracket member 108 and second bracket member 110 are adjustably displaceable relative to rail member 22 in either of first direction D1 or second direction D2 within a limited range.
