Detailed Description
The present invention will be described in further detail with reference to the accompanying drawings and examples. It is to be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are merely illustrative of the invention and are not limiting of the invention. It should be further noted that, for the convenience of description, only some of the structures related to the present invention are shown in the drawings, not all of the structures.
As mentioned in the background art, the conventional display panel has uneven display during display, and the inventor has found that the reason for this problem is that the sub-display area such as UDC is provided with a camera module and needs high transmittance, the luminance data of the sub-display area contains about 75% of invalid luminance data, the value of the invalid luminance data is very low, about 10% to 20% of the valid luminance data, and since the driving chip IC of the conventional display device cannot filter the invalid luminance data of the sub-display area such as the under-screen camera display technology (UDC), the invalid luminance data with low value induces the demura algorithm of the IC to generate a high compensation amount, so as to perform luminance compensation on the sub-display area, thereby causing abnormal display effect of the display device. When the existing display panel carries out display compensation, the mura problem of the main display area can be compensated, and the problem of uneven display still exists in the auxiliary display area when the auxiliary display area is displayed.
Based on the above technical problem, the present embodiment proposes the following solutions:
fig. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 1, since the sub display area 11 such as UDC is provided with a camera module, high transmittance is required, the luminance data of the sub display area 11 contains about 75% of invalid luminance data, the value of the invalid luminance data is very low, about 10% to 20% of valid luminance data, sub pixels corresponding to the invalid luminance data account for about 75% of all sub pixels of the sub display area 11, sub pixels corresponding to the valid luminance data account for about 25% of all sub pixels of the sub display area 11, and it is required to set the valid luminance data of the sub display area 11 to be higher than the luminance data corresponding to the sub pixels of the main display area 12. It should be noted that fig. 1 only illustrates the case where the sub display area is U-shaped, and the sub display area may be rectangular, circular, or the like as needed, and is not limited herein.
Fig. 2 is a flowchart of a mura compensation method of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to fig. 2, the mura compensation method for a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention includes:
s101, acquiring screen brightness data under a preset gray scale; the screen brightness data comprises main display area brightness data and auxiliary display area brightness data.
Specifically, the screen brightness data under a preset gray scale can be obtained by taking a picture and the like, the preset gray scale can be any one or more gray scales from 1 to 255, and for example, the preset gray scale can be 255 gray scales to obtain the screen brightness data.
S102, searching invalid brightness data in the brightness data of the auxiliary display area.
Specifically, from the first row to the last row, each row may sequentially search for invalid luminance data in the luminance data of the sub-display region from left to right, and the searched invalid luminance data of each sub-pixel may be in one-to-one correspondence with each sub-pixel.
S103, resetting the invalid brightness data to preset brightness data.
Optionally, the preset luminance data is equal to an average value of effective luminance data of the set sub-pixels; wherein the set sub-pixels comprise n × m sub-pixels around the sub-pixel corresponding to the invalid luminance data; n m is an integer greater than or equal to 2.
Specifically, the sub-pixels include n × m sub-pixels around the sub-pixel corresponding to the invalid luminance data, and the sub-pixel corresponding to the invalid luminance data may be located at the center position of the n × m sub-pixels or other positions except the center position. The brightness data of the sub-pixels corresponding to the reset invalid brightness data are equal to the mean value of the valid brightness data of the set sub-pixels, so that the valid brightness data in the set sub-pixels can be jointly fitted to the brightness data of the sub-pixels corresponding to the reset invalid brightness data, the brightness data of the sub-pixels in the auxiliary display area are all valid brightness data, and the uniformity of the brightness data of the sub-pixels in the auxiliary display area is good.
S104, reducing the reset auxiliary display area brightness data according to the reset auxiliary display area brightness data and the reset main display area brightness data.
Specifically, since the brightness data of each sub-pixel of the reset sub-display area is effective brightness data, the brightness data of the reset sub-display area is reduced according to the brightness data of the reset sub-display area and the brightness data of the main display area, and the brightness data of each sub-pixel of the sub-display area can be consistent with the brightness data of the main display area, so that the brightness data of the reduced sub-display area is closer to the brightness data of the main display area.
And S105, performing demura compensation according to the reduced brightness data of the auxiliary display area.
Specifically, the driving chip analyzes the brightness data of the main display area and the brightness data of the reduced auxiliary display area, calculates a compensation value under a preset gray scale according to mura, performs demura compensation according to the compensation value, ensures that the display consistency of the main display area and the auxiliary display area is better after the demura compensation, ensures that the compensation effect of each sub-pixel is better, and better compensates the display unevenness of the display panel. On the other hand, the difference of the brightness data of the main display area and the auxiliary display area is solved through the preprocessing of the brightness data, the special setting and processing of the auxiliary display area UDC in the driving chip part are not needed, and the cost of the driving chip is reduced.
It should be noted that the sub display area may include a transparent area and a transition area, and when the sub display area may include the transparent area and the transition area, the mura compensation method of the display panel according to the embodiment of the present invention may improve the problem of uneven display at the boundary between the transparent area and the transition area of the sub display area.
The mura compensation method for a display panel provided by this embodiment resets the invalid luminance data to the preset luminance data. And reducing the brightness data of the reset auxiliary display area according to the brightness data of the reset auxiliary display area and the brightness data of the main display area, and performing demura compensation according to the reduced brightness data of the auxiliary display area, so that the invalid brightness data in the brightness data of the auxiliary display area is reset into the valid brightness data, and the brightness data of the auxiliary display area is closer to the brightness data of the main display area. According to the reduced brightness data of the auxiliary display area, demura compensation is carried out on the sub-pixels of the main display area and the auxiliary display area, the compensation precision is higher, the compensation effect of the reset set sub-pixels is close to that of the effective brightness data of the auxiliary display area, the compensation effect of the sub-pixels corresponding to each effective brightness data of the auxiliary display area is better, the display uniformity of the display panel is improved, and the problem that the display is uneven in the auxiliary display area of the existing display panel during display is solved.

S201, dividing the brightness data of the auxiliary display area into effective brightness data and ineffective brightness data according to the comparison result of the brightness data of the auxiliary display area and a preset threshold value.
Specifically, the preset threshold may be set according to needs, for example, the preset threshold is equal to the average value of the luminance data of the main display area, or 1.5 times or 2 times of the average value of the luminance data of the main display area. If the brightness data of the auxiliary display area is larger than or equal to a preset threshold value, judging the brightness data of the auxiliary display area to be effective brightness data; and if the brightness data of the auxiliary display area is smaller than the preset threshold value, judging that the brightness data of the auxiliary display area is invalid brightness data.
