A protection method of a steam pocket water level control system when a steam inlet regulating valve of a steam feed pump has a fault relates to the technical field of steam pump control of thermal power plants. The invention aims to solve the problem that the air inlet regulating valve of the air pump is completely closed due to the fact that an LVDT position return rod of the air pump regulating valve loosens and falls off or an MOGE valve instruction plug loosens. The method comprises the steps of firstly judging whether a steam inlet regulating valve of the steam-driven feed pump of the steam pocket water level control system has a fault, if so, adjusting the two-way LVDT position return rods to the maximum value, then sending the deviation between the maximum value in the two-way LVDT position return rods and a control instruction of the steam inlet regulating valve into an MOGE valve, controlling the opening degree of the steam inlet regulating valve, enabling the steam inlet regulating valve to be completely closed, tripping the steam-driven feed pump, and simultaneously delaying for 3s and then starting a standby electric pump in an interlocking manner. Otherwise, the deviation between the maximum value in the two-way LVDT position return rods and the control instruction of the steam inlet regulating valve is directly sent to the MOGE valve to control the opening of the steam inlet regulating valve.

The rated power of the generator set of the current power plant at I, II is 330MW, a steam drum water level control system adopts a 100% steam-driven water supply pump, and two standby 50% electric pumps are used as boiler water supply. When the steam pump operates normally, a steam source is provided by the steam extracted by the five sections of the steam turbine, and the water level is controlled by controlling the opening degree of the regulating valve.
However, once the position feedback rod of the air pump governing valve LVDT (differential variable pressure displacement sensor) loosens and falls off or the instruction plug of the MOGE valve (external control one-way sequence valve) loosens, the air pump steam inlet governing valve is completely closed, and therefore the air pump is cut off, the water level of the steam pocket cannot be controlled, and unsafe events are caused.
