Description

Torque tool
Technical Field
The invention relates to a torque tool, in particular a switchable ratchet wrench, according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.
Torque tools, such as ratchet wrenches or torque wrenches, are manually operated screwing tools with which a torque can be applied to a workpiece (usually a bolt or a nut).
In particular, the present invention relates to a switchable ratchet wrench. In this case, it is a bolt-and-nut setting tool with which a rotary movement in a certain direction is produced by repeated, segment-by-segment operations over a limited working space, mostly for loosening or tightening a threaded connection. Such ratchet wrenches (often also referred to as ratchet mechanisms) produce a cyclical rotational movement of the ratchet. The direction of rotation can be reversed by means of an externally operable switching device.
Background
A ratchet wrench with thin teeth is described in EP 2851155 a 2. EP 1118433B 1 also describes one such ratchet wrench. These ratchet wrenches have a tool head with a tool shank and a handle. A ratchet is rotatably mounted in the tool head. The ratchet has teeth on its outer periphery. Further, a lock member is provided, which has teeth facing the external teeth portion of the ratchet. The locking element can be moved in the circumferential direction of the ratchet wheel between a first switching position and a second switching position by means of a switching device. In the first or second switching position, a respective one of the tooth segments of the locking element engages with a tooth of the ratchet wheel for the purpose of ratchet drive in the first or second rotational direction, while a respective other tooth segment of the locking element is separated from the tooth of the ratchet wheel.
A ratchet mechanism having a ratchet, a switching device and a lock is disposed in a chamber within the tool head. The chamber has a chamber wall, a bottom and an opening. The opening of the chamber is closed by a cover.
In the ratchet tool known from DE 69930339T 2, the cover is fixed on the open side of the tool head by means of screws.
US 2013/0180366 a1 discloses a torque tool in the form of a switchable ratchet wrench in which a closure is secured by a retaining ring.
US 6,776,071B 1 and US 2003/0205113 a1 also describe a method of locking the closure and ratchet arrangement unit by means of a stop ring or snap ring.
Furthermore, EP 2813322B 1 describes a ratchet tool of the prior art in which the edge of the housing cover has a clamping lip which clamps as a fastening element into a slotted recess of the housing for closing.
Disclosure of Invention
Starting from the prior art, the object of the present invention is to provide a torque tool, in particular a switchable ratchet wrench, with a closure cap which is improved with regard to assembly technology and function.
The solution to achieve this object is a torque tool, in particular a switchable ratchet wrench, according to the features of claim 1.
Advantageous constructional designs and developments of the torque tool according to the invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims 2 to 10.
The torque tool has a tool head with a cavity including a cavity wall, a bottom, and an opening. A ratchet wheel is rotatably mounted in the chamber or a ratchet wheel chamber belonging to the chamber. The ratchet has a follower, in particular in the form of an outer polygon. The chamber is covered on the open side by a cover.
According to the invention, the closure has a cover plate and a cover disk. The cover plate has a side edge directed towards the outside of the cavity wall, which side edge has at least one protruding tongue. A recess is provided in the chamber wall, into which recess the cover plate is inserted with one or more tongues. The cover plate is fixed in position in this inserted position by the fitted cover disk.
The closure of the present invention makes it possible to efficiently assemble the components of the ratchet mechanism. The component of the switching mechanism is fitted in a cavity of the tool head belonging to the chamber. Next, the cover plate is inserted into a recess in the cavity wall above the switching mechanism. In this way, the opening portion located above the switching mechanism is closed. The cover plate is fixed after being inserted to prevent falling off by the structural design of the cover plate with the tenon part. The ratchet is then loaded. The lid tray is then assembled. The cover disk has a central opening with which it surrounds the outwardly projecting follower of the ratchet wheel. The cover plate is held in place by the cover plate. The cover disk itself is fixed by a snap ring.
The stop ring engages with a first outer circumferential section in a groove extending in the chamber wall above the cover disk. The second peripheral section of the locking ring acts on a support provided or formed on the rear edge section of the cover plate. The abutment may be formed by a groove provided in the rear edge section of the cover plate. There is also the possibility: the abutment is formed by a projection or step in the rear edge section of the cover plate.
The recess in the chamber wall above the cover disk and the recess in the rear edge section of the cover plate complement each other to form an annular groove and are at a height. The cover plate is inserted with one or more tongues into a recess in the wall of the chamber, which recess is at a different height from the aforementioned recess, in particular at a lower height with respect to the bottom of the chamber.
The locking ring is preferably a spiral ring which is formed by a strip-shaped wire which runs in a circular path in a partially overlapping fashion in a spiral manner. The recess in the cavity wall and in the rear edge section of the cover plate constitutes a seat for the stop ring. To assemble the snap ring, one end of the wire helix may be pulled slightly apart and inserted. By rotating the locking ring, the helical thread is inserted into a groove in the cavity wall and into a groove in the cover plate.
The cover plate has a rear edge section directed toward the cover disk, which edge section is profiled to complement the outer circumference of the cover disk.
In practice, the cover disk is round or circular. The rear edge section of the cover plate is correspondingly designed in the shape of a circular arc.
Another aspect of the invention provides for: the underside of the cover plate has a bearing receptacle in which the inner end of the switching lever of the switching device is supported.
The bearing receptacle is particularly advantageously formed by a recess in the bottom side of the cover plate. The inner end of the switching lever has a bearing block, which is supported in a bearing receptacle or recess.
As an alternative, the cover plate can additionally be fixed by means of an adhesive. The adhesive is used in particular in the region of the groove/tongue connection between the cover plate and the tool head.
The lid panel may be a separate component of the closure. There is also the possibility: the cover disk is an integral part of the ratchet or is connected to the ratchet, preferably inseparably. In this way, the cover disc and the ratchet wheel constitute one unit and can be assembled together.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 to 3 show a torque tool in the form of a switchable ratchet wrench 1. The ratchet wrench 1 has a tool head 2 which is connected to a tool shank 3. A handle 4 is present at the end of the tool shaft 3 opposite the tool head 2.
A chamber 5 is formed in the tool head 2. A ratchet 6 and components of a ratchet and switching mechanism are assembled in the chamber 5. The chamber 5 has a chamber wall 7, a bottom 8 and an opening 9 (see also fig. 4 and 5). The chamber 5 in the tool head 2 comprises a circular ratchet cavity 10. The ratchet 6 is rotatably supported in the ratchet cavity 10. The ratchet 6 has a circular support projection 11 which is supported in a hole 12 in the base 8 of the tool head 2. Furthermore, a cavity 13 which is open toward the ratchet chamber 10 and has a circular-arc-shaped rear wall section 14 also belongs to the chamber 5. A locking member 15 has been or will be received in the cavity 13. The shank-side section 16 of the tool head 2 in the chamber 5 is stepped. The cavity 13 is delimited in the direction of extension towards the tool shaft 3 by a bearing section 17 of the tool head 2. Above the cavity 13, a substantially U-shaped recess 18 is provided, which extends on the bearing section 17 towards the tool shank 3. A hole 19 traverses the support section 17.
A follower 20 in the shape of an outer quadrilateral is used to transmit the torque about a rotational axis generated by the force on the handle 4 via the tool shank 3 on the tool head 2 and the ratchet 6 located therein to a workpiece. The follower 20 is in the embodiment of the ratchet 6 shown here an integral part of the same material as the ratchet 6. The ratchet 6 has on its outer circumference teeth 21, which here are thin teeth on the outer circumference of the ratchet 6.
The direction of rotation of the ratchet 6 can be adjusted by means of an externally operable switching device 22. The locking element 15 is arranged in the cavity 13 which is open towards the ratchet cavity 10. By means of the switching device 22, the locking member 15 is movable in the cavity 13 along a peripheral section of the chamber 5. The locking piece 15 has a toothing on its side facing the ratchet 6. The engagement of the toothing of the locking element 15 with the toothing 21 of the ratchet 6 can be adjusted by means of the switching device 22 in order to achieve a torque transmission in one rotational direction.
The switching device 22 comprises a switching lever 23 having a pin body 24 which is rotatably mounted in a bore 19 in the tool head 2. The pin body 24 has a nipple 25 projecting towards the locking element 15. The nipple 25 is inserted into a concave recess 26 on the rear side of the locking element 15. A longitudinal bore is provided in the sleeve 25, into which a spring sleeve, which is formed by a sleeve and a compression spring and is not shown in detail here, is inserted. The spring sleeve is spring-loaded with its end face against a support face in the recess 26.
Furthermore, a latching mechanism 27 is provided, by means of which the switching lever 23 can be latched in a switching position. The locking mechanism 27 has a ball 28 and a compression spring 29. The ball 28 and the pressure spring 29 are arranged in a bore 30 in the tool head 2. The pin body 24 has two detent recesses, not shown here, on its rear side facing the ball 28. These detent pockets have a profile that matches the profile of the ball 28. The detent recesses are arranged at a distance from one another on the circumference of the pin body 24 and each define a switching position.
The opening 9 of the chamber 5 is covered by a cover 31. The closure 31 has a cover plate 32 and a cover disc 33. The cover 32 is formed in a U-shaped or tongue-shaped manner. The cover plate 32 is inserted in the recess 18 and covers the part of the chamber 5 above the cavity 13 and the switching device 22. Details of the cover plate 32 are shown in fig. 6,7 and 8. Fig. 9 shows a cover disk 33.
The cover plate 32 has an outer side edge 34 directed towards the chamber wall 7. Projecting tongues 35 are formed on this side edge 34. These tongues each extend on the side of the cover plate 32 from the cover plate 32 in the direction of a rear edge section 36 of the ratchet wheel 6 in the direction of a front arc 37. A recess 38 is provided in the chamber wall 7. The groove extends circumferentially in the wall section of the cavity wall 7 that defines the recess 18. The cover plate 32 is inserted into the groove 38 with the tenon 35. The cover plate 32 is then fixed in position in this position by the cover disk 33. For this purpose, the cover disk 33 is inserted with its central opening 39 onto the follower 20 and is placed over the front neck portion 40 of the ratchet 6.
The assembled cover disk 33 is fixed by a retaining ring 41. This snap ring is shown in fig. 10.
The rear edge section 36 of the cover plate 32, which is directed toward the cover disk 33, has a contour which is configured complementarily to the outer circumference of the cover disk 33. As shown in fig. 9, the cover disk 33 is of annular design. The rear edge section 36 of the cover plate 32 is correspondingly embodied in the form of a circular arc or circular arc segment.
During assembly, the components of the switching device 22 and of the catch mechanism 27 are assembled together with the locking element 15. The cover plate 32 is then inserted with the tongue 35 laterally into the groove 38 in the cavity wall 7 (see fig. 11). The cover 31 fills the recess 18 and covers the cavity 13 and the bearing section 17 together with the hole 19. In this way, the components of the switching device 22 or of the catch mechanism 27 are already positioned.
As is shown in particular in the illustrations of fig. 7 and 8, the cover plate 32 has a bearing receptacle 43 in the form of a recess on its underside 42. The support receptacle 43 has parallel side walls 44, which are connected to one another by a circular arc segment 45. It can be seen that the lateral tongues 35 of the cover plate 32 are interrupted or separated from one another by slot-like recesses.
The inner end 46 of the switching lever 23 is supported in the bearing receptacle 43 (fig. 5).
After the cover 32 has been assembled, the cover disk 33 is guided with its central opening 39 onto the driven polygon 20 and rests on the end face of the ratchet 6. As mentioned before, the rear edge section 36 of the cover plate 32 matches the contour of the outer periphery of the cover disc 33. In this way, the cover plate 32 is fixed in its position by the cover disk 33. The cover disk 33 is positioned by the snap ring 41.
Above the cover disk 33 in the chamber wall 7, a groove 47 is provided which extends over the circumference of the chamber wall 7 in the region of the ratchet chamber 10. Furthermore, a support in the form of a recess 48 is provided in the rear edge section 36 of the cover plate 32. The two grooves 47 and 48 correspond to each other and complement each other to form a seat for the stop ring 41. The locking ring 41 is designed as a helical ring which is wound from a strip-shaped metal wire. The screw rings can be inserted into the recesses 47, 48 functioning as seats by opening the ends of the screw rings. In the assembled state, the locking ring 41 engages with a first peripheral section in an extended recess 47 in the cavity wall 7 above the cover disk 33 and with a second peripheral section in a recess 48 provided in the rear edge section 36 of the cover plate 32. In this way, an efficient, simple and stable assembly of the components of the ratchet mechanism of the ratchet wrench 1 is ensured. The assembled arrangement with the snap ring 41 inserted can be seen in fig. 4.
In the above embodiment, the cover plate 33 is a separate member, and constitutes the cover 31 together with the cover plate 32.
Fig. 13, 14 and 15 show an embodiment of a ratchet 6 'and a ratchet wrench 1' equipped with the ratchet. The cover disk 33 'is an integral component of the same material of the ratchet 6'. It can be seen that the cover disk 33' is arranged above the circumferential toothing 21. Accordingly, the cover disk 33 'is assembled together with the ratchet 6'. After the insertion of the ratchet 6 ', the cover disk 33' rests against or in the rear edge section 36 of the cover plate 32 and fixes the latter in its position, so that the cover plate 32 cannot slide out of its assembled position. The position fixing of the ratchet 6' is then carried out again-as described above-via the stop ring 41. This is illustrated by fig. 15.
Fig. 16, 17 and 18 show another design of construction of the tool head 2 of the torque tool or ratchet wrench 1 of the present invention having a cover plate 49 of an alternative design of construction. Otherwise, the ratchet wrench 1 corresponds to the above-described embodiment, and thus the members corresponding to each other are given the same reference numerals. The above description applies accordingly.
The cover plate 49 has an abutment in the form of a projection 51 in its rear edge section 50. For this purpose, the rear region 50 is stepped over its circular arc-shaped or fan-shaped extent.
The second peripheral section of the locking ring 41 overlaps the projection 51. In this way, the locking ring 41 acts on an abutment or projection 51 formed in the rear edge section 50 and holds the cover plate 49 in its position.
