Copper and copper alloy have good physical and chemical properties and are widely applied to various fields, but copper is unstable in air and is easy to corrode, so that nowadays, people no longer meet the monotonous brass color in the past as the surface decoration color tone, but tend to have richer colors and more elegant and unique surface decoration.
The coloring of the copper ware can be directly carried out on the surface, or can be carried out after the surface is oxidized or anodized to obtain an oxide film layer or is plated with a proper plating layer, and the current commonly used coloring processes comprise a chemical oxidation coloring process and an electrochemical coloring process. The chemical oxidation coloring process is that the copper ware is put into a chemical reactant, and a conversion film and coloring are formed on the surface through the loss of electrons of metal or the chemical reaction of the metal and oxygen; the electrochemical coloring process is to color the oxide film or coating on the surface of the metal by the action of an electric field during electrolysis of the metal with anodized surface or coated metal, and the two methods cannot achieve the effect of high-temperature color development during heat treatment.
