Detailed Description
[ embodiment ]
The embodiments are described in detail below with reference to the drawings. The following embodiments are not intended to limit the invention according to the claims, and all combinations of features described in the embodiments are not necessarily essential to the invention. Two or more of the plurality of features described in the embodiments may be arbitrarily combined. The same or similar components are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description thereof is omitted.
In one embodiment described below, an example in which the present invention is applied to a game device capable of providing two types of articles as an example of the game device will be described. However, the present invention can be applied to any device configured to be able to supply a plurality of kinds of articles, respectively.
The game device of the present embodiment is explained with the following configuration: the items that can be provided with information are classified into two categories, i.e., a first item and a second item according to the present invention, but both are game pieces. The game card is composed of: in the game play experience of the game provided in response to the price payment, the game element corresponding to the game card can be made to come out in the game by acquiring the information of the game card. Both of these game pieces are provided from the game device while playing the game.
The two kinds of game cards are attached with information (card information) that may be in the same form, for example, and by acquiring the information at the time of playing the game, the game device can be caused to hold information for progress control of the game. The card information includes at least information that can specify a game element corresponding to the game card. The addition of card information to the game card can be realized, for example, by: the two-dimensional code is attached by printing the card information in a predetermined code form on the surface of the game card using invisible or visible ink. In the present embodiment, for simplicity, the game cards are associated with characters among the game elements, and the characters are configured to be presented in the game by acquiring card information when the game is played.
In the present embodiment, the description is given assuming that the game element corresponding to the game card is a character, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the game element corresponding to the game card may be another game element such as a prop or a launch effect.
In the present embodiment, the first article and the second article provided by the game device are both game pieces, but these articles need not be the same type of article, and may be different types of articles. The article is not limited to a game card, and may be any article as long as it can acquire information attached to the game device, and the method of attaching information may be different depending on the form.
Structure of Game device
Next, the functional configuration of the game device 100 having the appearance shown in fig. 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the block diagram of fig. 2.
The control unit 101 is, for example, a CPU, and controls the operation of each block included in the game device 100. Specifically, the control unit 101 controls the operation of each block by reading an operation program of each block recorded in the recording medium 102, for example, and expanding and executing the operation program in the memory 103.
The recording medium 102 is a recording device capable of permanently holding data, such as a nonvolatile memory or an HDD. The recording medium 102 stores, in addition to the operation programs of the respective blocks included in the game device 100, information such as parameters necessary for the operation of the respective blocks, and various graphic data used in the game executed by the game device 100. The memory 103 is a storage device for temporarily storing data, such as a volatile memory. The memory 103 is used not only as an expansion area of the operation program of each block but also as a storage area for temporarily storing data and the like output during the operation of each block.
The payout detecting unit 104 detects whether or not a payout of a price is made in the game apparatus 100. For example, it is possible to determine that the price payment has been made by detecting that a predetermined amount of medal or a corresponding game medal has been inserted into a medal insertion slot (not shown) or that a settlement process based on communication with a chip related to predetermined electronic money has been completed. The game device 100 of the present embodiment is described as performing the service involving providing the game card to the user based on the start of the price payment, but the price payment is not an essential requirement and the service may be started based on a predetermined start instruction.
The presentation control unit 107 is responsible for control of presenting various information to the user in the game device 100. In the game device 100 of the present embodiment, the description is given by providing the first display unit 121 and the second display unit 122 for displaying images (game screen, menu screen, and the like) as means for presenting various information to the user, but the means for presenting information is not limited to this, and may be replaced or added, as a matter of course.
The presentation control unit 107 includes a rendering device such as a GPU, for example, and performs a predetermined rendering process when generating a screen to be displayed on the first display unit 121 and the second display unit 122. Specifically, the presentation control unit 107 performs appropriate arithmetic processing on a necessary drawing object based on processing and commands performed by the control unit 101 during operation of the game apparatus 100 (during a game play period and during a standby state), thereby drawing a screen. The generated screen is output to the first display unit 121 or the second display unit 122, and is displayed in a predetermined display area to be presented to the user, and the first display unit 121 or the second display unit 122 may be a display device that is in the same housing as the game device 100 or is detachably connected to the outside of the game device 100.
The game device 100 of the present embodiment displays a game screen, and includes two types of display devices (the first display unit 121 and the second display unit 122) as shown in fig. 1, and the presentation control unit 107 generates a game screen for each display device. As shown in the drawing, in the present embodiment, the second display unit 122 has a board (placement board 123) on which game cards can be placed in its display area, and is integrated with the board. In the game providing the game playing experience in the game device 100 according to the present embodiment, the user can interfere with the progress of the game by performing the movement operation of the game piece on the placement panel 123.
The second display unit 122 of the present embodiment is configured to display various game screens that are changed over, and to enable the acquisition unit 105, which will be described later, to acquire an invisible code attached to a game card placed on the placement panel 123. For example, when the second display unit 122 is a liquid crystal display device, the configuration may be as follows: a light-transmitting liquid crystal panel layer and a light guide layer are provided on the lower layer of the mounting panel 123, and a light source is disposed around (on the side surface of) the light guide layer so that the bottom surface of the second display portion 122 does not have a housing as a shield. Thus, the image pickup unit (not shown) included in the acquisition unit 105 can acquire an image from the inside of the second display unit 122 (inside the casing of the game device 100) from which a code for picking up an article placed on the placement panel 123 can be extracted. The configuration of the second display unit 122 is not limited to this, and an image from which a code of an article placed on the placement panel 123 can be extracted can be captured by the rear projection method, for example.
The acquisition unit 105 acquires card information from a game card placed on the placement panel 123 for a game in which the game device 100 of the present embodiment provides a game play experience in response to the price payment. The acquisition unit 105 recognizes a plurality of pieces of card information, and also has a function of detecting at least one of the position, rotation, and movement thereof. The acquisition unit 105 includes, for example, an imaging unit that images the second display unit 122 from the inside as described above, and acquires card information by extracting and converting a code attached to an article by applying a predetermined operation to the captured image. In the present embodiment, the acquisition unit 105 is configured to be able to photograph the entire area of the placement panel 123, and the placement panel 123 is configured to be able to detect whether or not a game piece is placed.
The character DB 106 is a database for managing information (character information) on each character which is determined to be present in the game in advance. In the game provided in the game device 100 of the present embodiment, a plurality of characters can be present in a game relating to one game progress. In the game device 100, when the user uses a game card during game play, a character corresponding to the card information is made available (operated) for use in the game, for example, as a user character.
Here, in the game according to the present embodiment, it is assumed that a plurality of kinds of game pieces exist for the same character, for example, a game piece is provided in a different version, a different pattern, a different degree of treasure, and the like, and a type ID is provided for each character so as to identify which kind of game piece is provided for the character. Therefore, as shown in fig. 4 (a), the card information attached to the game card has a character ID 402 that uniquely identifies a character corresponding to the game card and a type ID 403 related to the character corresponding to the game card, in association with a card ID 401 that uniquely identifies the game card.
Also, the character information managed for one character in the character DB 106 may have a data structure shown in fig. 4 (b), for example. As shown in the figure, the character information can be specified by a combination of the character ID 411 and the type ID 412, and as shown in fig. 4 (b), the drawing information 413 and the progress parameter 414 are included in association with the character ID 411 and the type ID 412, the drawing information 413 includes graphic data and the like used for generating a screen when the character is present in the game, and the progress parameter 414 describes the capability inherent to elements such as a predetermined physical strength (stamina), an offensive power, a defensive power, an engine skill, and a special move. Here, the progress parameter 414 is information referred to in the progress control of the game for leaving the corresponding character, and the information differs for each character, so that the progress of the game can be changed according to the use of the character.
In the present embodiment, the description is given assuming that the character DB 106 stores therein graphic data and the character information includes these data, but the implementation of the present invention is not limited to this. The character information may include information indicating a storage location of the corresponding data.
In the present embodiment, the following configuration is explained: the character information managed for each character in the character DB 106 is associated with a character ID and a type ID, and various information necessary for controlling the progress of the game relating to the character corresponding to the game card is acquired from the character DB 106 based on the card information acquired from the game card by the acquisition unit 105, whereby the character present in the game can be registered. That is, the card information attached to the game card may be configured not to have only information for specifying character information such as a character ID and a type ID, but to include various information necessary for controlling the progress of the game.
The supply control unit 108 performs control as follows: for one game played based on the payment of value, one game card is generally provided. The game pieces provided by the game device 100 are provided from one of the first providing unit 131 and the second providing unit 132 after a game sequence related to the provision of a predetermined game (a game part in which a character is operated: a match-up game) is started, for example.
In the present embodiment, the first providing part 131 and the second providing part 132 are, for example, card dispensers, and may have the following structure: the game machine includes a not-shown storage box for vertically stacking and storing game cards, and a mechanism for supplying one game card stored in the lowermost part of the storage box in accordance with a supply command issued by the supply control unit 108. That is, the game card provided from the game device 100 of the present embodiment is an off-the-shelf card that is printed in advance, and the design such as the character image and the parameters printed on the surface of the game card is fixed.
The first and second supply units 131 and 132 are arranged side by side inside the casing of the game device 100, and when each of the first and second supply units 131 and 132 performs an operation related to the supply of a game piece, the game piece is guided to a common take-out port 133 (see fig. 1) accessible from the outside of the game device 100 and supplied to the user. That is, regardless of which of the providing units provides the game pieces, the user can receive the provided game pieces from the common ejection port 133.
In the present embodiment, the first supply unit 131 and the second supply unit 132 are described as being incorporated in the casing of the game device 100, but the practice of the present invention is not limited to this. That is, at least one of the first supply unit 131 and the second supply unit 132 may be provided outside the game device 100 and connected to the game device 100, or may be a device that further requires an operation input to a handle or the like to supply a game card.
In addition, although the description has been given assuming that the game cards provided in the present embodiment are ready-made cards, the game cards provided may be cards whose design can be dynamically changed by so-called on-demand printing. In this case, at least one of the first supply unit 131 and the second supply unit 132 may be a printing device that performs printing on a predetermined paper medium, and may generate a game card with card information corresponding to information of a character selected by a user or selected by a lottery process according to the progress of a game, for example.
The operation input unit 109 is, for example, a user interface of the game device 100, such as an operation member for direction input, an operation member for determination input, and various sensors. When detecting that an operation input to the operation member is performed, the operation input unit 109 outputs a control signal corresponding to the operation input to the control unit 101. In the present embodiment, the game device 100 is described as including various interfaces as physical operation members, but may include, for example, a touch input detection sensor for detecting a contact operation (touch input) of a human body on the screen of the second display unit 122, that is, on the mounting panel 123.
The communication unit 110 is a communication interface with an external device included in the game device 100. The communication unit 110 can be connected to an external device via a network (wired or wireless) to transmit and receive data, and the network may be a communication network such as the internet or a cable connecting devices. The communication unit 110 converts information input as a transmission target into data of a predetermined format, for example, and transmits the data to an external device via a network. When receiving information from an external device via a network, for example, the communication unit 110 decodes the information and stores the decoded information in the memory 103.
Game card offering
Next, the provision of a game card by the game device 100 of the present embodiment will be described.
The game device 100 of the present embodiment includes a first supply unit 131 and a second supply unit 132, and the operation of which is controlled by the supply control unit 108 to supply game pieces previously stored in these storage boxes. In the present embodiment, the supply control unit 108 determines which of the first supply unit 131 and the second supply unit 132 supplies the game piece, according to the state of the game being executed. Here, the state of the game is a situation set to change according to the progress of the game, and the state of the game changes by the control unit 101 sequentially updating the corresponding information stored in the memory 103 in response to a situation determined according to, for example, what progress the game has been, what result has been achieved, whether or not a specific condition has been satisfied, or the like.
Kind of game cards provided
As described above, the items provided by the game device 100 are game cards, but the types of the items are different depending on which storage box is stored in the first providing unit 131 or the second providing unit 132. In other words, the game pieces stored in the storage box of the first supply unit 131 as the first article according to the present invention and the game pieces stored in the storage box of the second supply unit 132 as the second article according to the present invention are configured to be different in kind.
The game cards accommodated in the respective supply units may be classified according to the practicality in the game. In the present embodiment, the degree of deterioration (rareness) determined for each game piece is used as a criterion for determining the usability, and the game pieces are classified according to the degree of deterioration. More specifically, the game pieces are classified according to whether or not the game pieces belong to a grade higher (less) than a predetermined value set for the game. In the present embodiment, the setting is performed as follows: if a game is played using a game card with a high degree of treasure set for the same character, the game can be advantageously progressed. That is, the progress parameter 414 referenced when the game piece corresponding to an arbitrary character is used is set to a value that allows the game to progress more favorably than the progress parameter 414 based on the game piece with a low degree of deterioration.
Alternatively, the following may be simply provided: the progress parameter 414 of the character corresponding to the game card with a high degree of treasure is set to a value that makes the game progress more favorably as a whole, compared to the progress parameter 414 of the character corresponding to the game card with a low degree of treasure. More specifically, for example, the following may be provided: as the degree of the deterioration is higher, the larger the value determined for each degree of the deterioration as the reference of the setting progress parameter 414 is, and thus, a difference in the practicability is generated between the degrees of the deterioration regardless of the character. Or may be further configured to: the higher the grade of the degree of the treasure, the larger the total value of the values of the items included in the progress parameter 414 is determined to be, thereby creating a gap in practicality among the grades.
In general, game cards with high value are manufactured by special processing. That is, since the manufacturing cost of one game card, which is a highly valuable card, is higher than the cost corresponding to the special processing, the cost can be suppressed if the manufacturing quantity or the supply quantity of the game cards requiring the special processing is reduced. On the other hand, the presence of game pieces subjected to such special processing increases the interest of the game or increases the interest of the user, and therefore the reduction in the number of manufactured pieces and the provision of the pieces are not always more advantageous than those on the side of the issuer.
Therefore, in the game device 100 of the present embodiment, the game cards belonging to a grade higher than the predetermined value and the game cards not belonging to the grade are separately stored in the first supply unit 131 and the second supply unit 132, and supply control is performed. More specifically, the former game cards are stored in the storage box of the second supply unit 132, and the latter game cards are stored in the storage box of the first supply unit 131. Hereinafter, the game cards received and supplied by the first supply portion 131 will be referred to as normal cards, and the game cards received and supplied by the second supply portion 132 will be referred to as special cards.
Providing conditions
As described above, the game device 100 according to the present embodiment is configured to basically provide one game piece for one game progress, and determine from which providing unit the game piece is provided, that is, which of the normal card and the special card is provided, based on the state of the game.
In the game device 100 of the present embodiment, in the game sequence of the provided game play experience, a match-up game is provided between users or between a user and a CPU, and the state of the game is determined according to the win or loss of the match-up game. More specifically, when the result of the match-up game is north-loser, the control unit 101 determines the state of the game as the first state in which the normal card can be provided, and when the result of the match-up game is winner, the control unit 101 determines the state of the game as the second state in which the special card can be provided. That is, the state of the game is controlled in the following manner: a special card with a high value can be provided to a user who has acquired a good result (win) in a battle game.
When the processing advances and the timing for providing the game piece comes, the providing control unit 108 controls which providing unit provides the game piece according to the state of the game. Here, when the game state is the second state, the second supply unit 132 may supply the special card, but as described above, the special card is more expensive to manufacture than the normal card. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the providing control portion 108 controls the second providing portion 132 to provide the special card on the condition that further payment of the consideration is completed, in addition to the consideration paid for starting providing the game play experience. Here, the further consideration payment means: the consideration payout additionally detected by the payout detecting part 104 after the game play experience starts to be provided is recognized as a corresponding further consideration payout by the control part 101. In the present embodiment, the price of the additional counter is described in consideration of the specification of the exchange machine in the gaming machine shop, and the price is the same as the counter paid for the start of providing the game play experience.
In this way, it is possible to provide an article that increases the interest of the user while ensuring the increased manufacturing cost of recovering a special card. In addition, when a game using special cards is played, the progress parameter of a character who is present is a value that favorably progresses the game, and therefore, in the case where such a character is present only on one side, imbalance in the progress of the battle game may occur, but according to the game device 100 of the present embodiment, the number of special cards to be provided can be suppressed by adding a condition for obtaining further consideration payment to the special cards.
In addition, when the state of the game is in the first state, or when the state of the game is in the second state but further payout of the value is not completed within a predetermined period, for example, the supply control unit 108 controls the first supply unit 131 to supply the ordinary card. Thus, the following structure can be provided: at least a normal card is surely provided for one game progress, and a special card is provided in place of the normal card only when the state of the game is changed to the second state, subject to further payment of a consideration.
In the present embodiment, the description is given assuming that the state of the game is determined based on the result of the battle game, but the practice of the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the state of the game may be determined based on a lottery result of a predetermined lottery game such as a roulette game, a slot machine game, or the like, which is performed during the game play experience or after the battle game. More specifically, the control unit 101 may be configured to: when the result of the drawing game is a drop game, the state of the game is determined as a first state, and when the result of the drawing game is a winning game, the state of the game is determined as a second state. In this case, whether or not the state of the game is to be the second state, that is, the state in which the special card can be provided may be determined only by the drawing game, or by both of the competing game and the drawing game (satisfying either condition, winning in the drawing game performed after the competing game is won, or the like).
Game processing
The game process executed by the game device 100 of the present embodiment having such a configuration will be described specifically with reference to the flowchart of fig. 3. The processing corresponding to this flowchart can be realized by reading a corresponding processing program stored in the recording medium 102, for example, by the control unit 101, and then expanding and executing the processing program in the memory 103. For example, the present game process is started when the payout detecting unit 104 detects a payout of a price for starting the provision of the game play experience.
In S301, the control unit 101 starts a registration sequence for registering characters used in the match-up game. In the registration sequence, the user can register a character that is present in the game as his or her own character to be used by placing a game card on the placement panel 123. The control unit 101 reads corresponding character information from the character DB 106 based on card information acquired from a game card placed thereon, and adds the character information to, for example, a use character table in the memory 103, thereby performing registration.
In S302, the control unit 101 determines whether or not the end condition of the registration sequence is satisfied. The end condition of the registration sequence may be decided based on completion of an operation input related to determination of the use role, elapse of a time corresponding to a prescribed time limit, and the like. The control unit 101 moves the process to S303 when determining that the end condition of the registration sequence is satisfied, and repeats the process of this step when determining that the end condition of the registration sequence is not satisfied.
In S303, the control unit 101 starts a game sequence related to the battle game in which the character is used. When the processing of the game sequence is started, the control unit 101 performs progress control of the match game based on the information registered in the use character table. The presentation control unit 107 performs presentation control for presenting a game screen related to the battle game on the first display unit 121 and the second display unit 122 under the control of the control unit 101.
In S304, the control unit 101 determines whether or not the end condition of the game sequence is satisfied. The end condition of the game sequence may be satisfied by achieving the result of either one of win and loss in the battle game. The control unit 101 moves the process to S305 when determining that the end condition of the game sequence is satisfied, and repeats the process of this step when determining that the end condition of the game sequence is not satisfied.
In S305, the control unit 101 changes the information of the state of the game based on the result of the match game. More specifically, the control unit 101 updates the information assuming that the state of the game is the second state when the result of the match is winning, and updates the information assuming that the state of the game is the first state when the result of the match is losing.
In S306, the control unit 101 starts a supply sequence related to the supply of the game pieces.
In S307, the presentation control unit 107 determines whether the state of the game is the first state or the second state. The presentation control unit 107 moves the process to S310 when determining that the state of the game is the first state, and moves the process to S308 when determining that the state is the second state.
In S308, the presentation control section 107 determines whether or not further consideration payment related to the provision of the special card is completed. In the determination of this step, the presentation control unit 107 performs control as follows under the control of the control unit 101: for example, the first display unit 121 displays a display indicating that additional payment for a special card is required. The presentation control unit 107 moves the process to S309 when determining that the further consideration payment is completed, and repeats the process of this step when determining that the further consideration payment is not completed. If it is determined that further price payment has not been completed within the limit time set to accept further price payment, the presentation control unit 107 moves the process to S310.
In S309, the presentation control unit 107 controls the second supply unit 132 to supply the special card.
On the other hand, in a case where it is determined in S307 that the state of the game is the first state, or in a case where it is determined in S308 that further consideration payment is not completed, the presentation control portion 107 controls the first supply portion 131 to supply the ordinary card in S310.
In S311, the control unit 101 ends the providing sequence, and completes the game process after performing the process related to the end of the predetermined game play experience.
As described above, according to the game device of the present embodiment, the game can be played with increased interest and at an appropriate cost. More specifically, the game device can control the plurality of providing units according to the state of the game in the process related to the game started based on the price payout, thereby realizing the provision of the article with high interest. At this time, the game device is controlled as follows: the first item is provided in the case where the state of the game is the first state, and the second item is provided on condition that further payment of the price is completed in the case where the state of the game is the second state.
In the present embodiment, the following description is assumed: in the case where the state of the game is the second state, the provision control section 108 performs control so that the special card is provided instead of the ordinary card on condition that further payment of the value is completed, but the implementation of the present invention is not limited thereto. In the case where the price of the completed further consideration payment is larger than the price of the consideration required for providing the special card (for example, a price 2 times the price related to the start of the provision of the game play experience), the provision control unit 108 may control the first and second providing units 131 and 132 so that both the normal card and the special card are provided.
[ modified examples ]
In addition, as described above, if game pieces (special pieces) that favorably progress the game are provided in large numbers, the game balance may collapse. In this regard, the offered amount can be suppressed to some extent by adding a condition for further consideration payment, but the following is conceived: users who are particularly interested in the game do not parsimoniously pay further consideration to obtain a special card.
Therefore, the game device 100 may be configured to limit the number of offers more directly, in addition to the condition for further paying the consideration. That is, it is also possible to: the control unit 101 controls the progress of the game itself based on the state of the supply of the special cards, and the like, thereby adjusting the occurrence of the state in which the state of the game is set to the second state, and as a result, reducing the number of the special cards supplied. More specifically, the control unit 101 may control the probability of winning the battle game by adjusting a character or a progress parameter of the character as a battle opponent of the battle game or by controlling the progress of event processing in the battle game based on the adjustment. Alternatively, the control unit 101 may control the winning probability of the drawing game. The basis for such an adjustment may be determined, for example, as follows: the number of special cards provided in a predetermined period such as one hour or one day is made to fall within a predetermined range of number, or the number of ordinary cards provided in a predetermined period is simply made to be larger than the number of special cards provided.
[ other embodiments ]
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various changes and modifications can be made within the spirit and scope of the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. The game device according to the present invention can be realized by a program that causes one or more computers to function as the game device. The program can be provided/distributed by being recorded in a computer-readable recording medium or by being transmitted through an electric communication line.
