When electronic settlement is performed, authentication or confirmation of the person is generally required. There are a plurality of authentication methods, for example, fingerprint authentication, face authentication, password authentication, and the like. The user can set the authentication method required for electronic settlement in the in-vehicle device in advance, and can save the time and effort for selecting the authentication method. When the person is authenticated, the electronic settlement button is pressed on the electronic settlement screen such as (a) of fig. 1, and the electronic settlement is completed.
However, the authentication method selected in advance in electronic settlement may be difficult to use depending on the situation or the vehicle-mounted environment. For example, when the face authentication is set as the authentication method, the face authentication may not be performed if the driver wears a mask or sunglasses. In addition, if the interior of the vehicle is too bright due to irradiation of sunlight or too dark at night, face authentication may not be performed. When the fingerprint authentication is set, if the driver wears the glove, the driver needs to take off the glove specifically at the time of electronic settlement. When the password authentication is set, if a fellow passenger is present, the fellow passenger may see the fellow passenger or the fellow passenger must be shielded from the view.
The present invention has been made to solve the above conventional problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an electronic device, an authentication method determination method, and an authentication method determination program, which can automatically switch to an authentication method according to the status of settlement.

Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Fig. 3 is a block diagram showing an internal configuration of the in-vehicle device 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention. The in-vehicle device 100 is, for example, the in-vehicle device 20C shown in fig. 2. The in-vehicle device 100 includes an input unit 110, a position detection unit 120, a navigation unit 130, a communication unit 140, a settlement status acquisition unit 150, a display unit 160, a voice output unit 170, a storage unit 180, and a control unit 190. However, the configuration shown here is an example, and the in-vehicle device 100 may include other functions such as an audio/video function, a television/broadcast receiving function, and the like.
The input section 110 includes an input key device, a voice input recognition device, a touch panel, a camera, and the like, receives an instruction from a user via these devices, and supplies it to the control section 190. The in-vehicle device 100 of the present embodiment has an electronic settlement function as described later, and the input unit 110 functions as an interface for inputting authentication information for confirming the identity of the person at the time of electronic settlement. For example, when the authentication method is fingerprint authentication, the input unit 110 acquires a fingerprint of a user who is in contact with a touch panel or a dedicated authentication button. In addition, when the authentication method is face authentication, the input unit 110 includes an imaging element or a camera, and acquires image information of a face of the user. In the case where the authentication method is a password, the input unit 110 acquires number information input from the input key device.
The position detection unit 120 detects the current position using a GPS signal and/or detects the current position using an orientation sensor such as a gyro sensor. The navigation unit 130 displays, for example, a road map around the current location of the vehicle detected by the position detection unit 120 on the display unit 160, or searches for a route from the current location to the destination and displays the searched route on the road map to guide the vehicle to the destination. The navigation unit 130 displays a road map or searches for a route to a destination using the road map database held by the in-vehicle device 100. When the vehicle-mounted device 100 does not hold the road map database, it accesses the road map server via the network 30 as shown in fig. 2, and acquires necessary information including road map data therefrom.
As shown in fig. 2, the communication unit 140 can wirelessly communicate data with the server 40 and other electronic devices. The communication unit 140 may be a communication module, for example, a TCU (remote control unit), which integrally includes a 4G/5G public wireless network, a GPS receiving function, a short-range communication function, and the like. The communication unit 140 may use a communication function built in the in-vehicle device 100, or may use a communication function of an electronic apparatus (for example, a smartphone 100A) connected to the in-vehicle device 100 as shown in fig. 4.
In one embodiment, when the smartphone 100A is connected to the in-vehicle apparatus 100, the in-vehicle apparatus 100 operates in a specific mode in cooperation with the smartphone 100A. In the specific mode, the in-vehicle apparatus 100 functions as an input/output device of the smartphone 130. For example, an icon related to an application installed in the smartphone 100A is displayed on the display unit 160 of the in-vehicle device 100, and the user can activate the application of the smartphone 100A by touching the displayed icon. In addition, the video signal or the audio signal that is streamed and reproduced with the smartphone 100A is transmitted to the in-vehicle apparatus 100, and these video signal or audio signal is output to the display section 160 or the voice output section 170.
The status acquisition unit 150 acquires information on the status of settlement when electronic settlement is performed (hereinafter referred to as settlement status information), and supplies the acquired information to the control unit 190. The in-vehicle device 100 is loaded with an application for executing an electronic settlement function, and the settlement status information is used to determine whether the authentication method is appropriate at the time of electronic settlement.
The situation acquisition unit 150 may include a camera for capturing images of the interior space and/or the exterior of the vehicle, an illuminance sensor for detecting the brightness of the interior space, a seat sensor for detecting the presence or absence of a passenger, and the like. The camera captures images of the face, hands, brightness of the inside and outside of the vehicle, and the like of the driver as the settlement status information, and supplies the image data to the control unit 190. The illuminance sensor detects the brightness of the space in the vehicle (if necessary, the brightness of the outside of the vehicle) as the settlement status information, and supplies the detection result to the control unit 190. The seat sensor detects whether or not the passenger seat or the other seat is occupied with the passenger as the settlement status information, and supplies the detection result to the control unit 190.
The display unit 160 displays a road map or the like generated by the navigation unit 130, or displays an image related to the road map or the like when executing various applications mounted on the in-vehicle device 100. For example, when an electronic settlement application is started, an image related thereto is displayed. The voice output unit 170 outputs the audio signal generated by the navigation unit 130 or outputs a voice related to the application when the application mounted on the in-vehicle device 100 is executed.
The storage unit 170 stores data (for example, a road map database) required by the in-vehicle device 100, and various application software, programs, and the like executable by the in-vehicle device 100. In the present embodiment, an application for electronic settlement is installed, and the electronic settlement function is provided to the in-vehicle device 100 by operating the application.
The control unit 190 controls operations of the respective units of the in-vehicle device 100. In one embodiment, the control unit 190 includes a microprocessor or microcontroller including a ROM/RAM, and the like, and the control unit 190 controls each unit by executing a program stored in the ROM/RAM. Further, the control unit 190 executes the application stored in the storage unit 180.
Next, the electronic settlement function mounted on the in-vehicle device will be described in detail. In one embodiment, the electronic settlement function of the present embodiment is realized by operating an application for electronic settlement as described above. In another embodiment, when the smartphone 100A is connected as shown in fig. 4, the in-vehicle device 100 operates in a specific mode, and the electronic settlement function of the in-vehicle device 100 is realized by operating the application for electronic settlement of the smartphone 100A. In this case, the image data related to the electronic settlement is transmitted from the smartphone 100A to the in-vehicle device 100 and displayed on the display unit 160.
Fig. 5 shows a functional configuration of the electronic settlement function 200 of the present embodiment. As shown in the figure, the electronic settlement function 200 includes an authentication method setting unit 210, a settlement status information acquiring unit 220, an authentication method determining unit 230, an authentication method switching unit 240, and an authentication executing unit 250.
When electronic settlement is performed, an authentication procedure for confirming the person is required. The authentication method setting unit 210 sets an authentication method in advance, and prioritizes the set authentication method over other authentication methods when performing electronic settlement. In one example, a user selects a desired authentication method from among a plurality of authentication methods, and registers the setting. For example, when any one of face authentication, fingerprint authentication, and password authentication can be used, the user can set a desired authentication method from among them. This can avoid a complicated procedure for the user to select the authentication method at the time of electronic settlement.
The settlement status information acquisition unit 220 acquires settlement status information via the status acquisition unit 150 when electronic settlement is performed (for example, when a user activates an application for electronic settlement). The settlement status information is used to determine whether the authentication method set by the authentication method setting unit 210 is suitable for settlement. As described above, the settlement status information includes information necessary for determining the status of settlement, such as an image of the vehicle interior, an image of the face and hands of the user (driver), the detection result of the illuminance sensor, and the detection result of the seat sensor.
The authentication method determining unit 230 determines whether the authentication method set by the authentication method setting unit 210 is appropriate or can be easily implemented based on the settlement status information acquired by the settlement status information acquiring unit 220. For example, when face authentication is set, if the vehicle interior space is too dark or conversely, if the vehicle interior space is too bright due to sunlight incidence, face authentication may not be easily performed. In addition, when the user wears sunglasses or a mask, there is a fear that the face authentication cannot be performed. In addition, when the fingerprint authentication is set, if the user wears gloves, the fingerprint authentication cannot be performed as it is, and therefore, the user must take off the gloves or switch to another authentication method by himself or herself. When the password input is set, if there is a passenger such as a passenger seat, the user must switch to another authentication method by himself or herself so as to avoid seeing the password as personal information.
When the authentication method set by the authentication method determining unit 230 is determined to be inappropriate, the authentication method switching unit 240 automatically switches the set authentication method to another authentication method. For example, when it is determined that the authentication method of the set face authentication is not appropriate, the authentication method switching unit 240 switches to fingerprint authentication or password input.
The authentication execution unit 250 executes authentication in the authentication method switched by the authentication method switching unit 240. The authentication method switching unit 240 returns the authentication method to the authentication method set as it is after the authentication execution unit 250 executes the authentication.
Next, the electronic settlement operation according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart of fig. 6. First, the user sets an authentication method to be used for electronic settlement (S100). In one embodiment, the authentication method setting unit 210 is included in an electronic settlement application, and displays a setting screen of the authentication method when the application is started. The user sets a desired authentication method from the setting screen. In another embodiment, the authentication method setting unit 210 may be mounted as an application different from the application for electronic settlement and shared by the application for electronic settlement and another application.
When a user purchases drinks or the like in a store such as a car-shuttle restaurant while traveling, the user can perform an electronic settlement procedure in the car. At this time, when the user starts an electronic settlement application installed in the in-vehicle device 100 (S110), authentication of the user is started. The settlement status information acquiring unit 220 acquires the settlement status information via the status acquiring unit 150, and the authentication method determining unit 230 determines whether the set authentication method is appropriate based on the settlement status information (S120). When it is determined that the set authentication method is not appropriate, the authentication method switching unit 240 automatically switches the set authentication method to another available authentication method (S130). When it is determined that the set authentication method is appropriate, the authentication method switching unit 240 does not change the set authentication method. In this way, authentication for confirming the person is performed by the set authentication method or the switched authentication method (S140). If the person is authenticated, electronic settlement is performed. After the electronic settlement is completed, the authentication method switching unit 240 restores the authentication method after the change to the authentication method that was originally set (S150).
Fig. 7 shows a first example of switching the authentication method according to the present embodiment. Here, as the authentication method, face authentication is set. Fig. 7 (a) shows an example of an authentication method of face authentication. A camera 300 for capturing the face of the driver is attached to the display unit 160 of the in-vehicle device 100, and image data captured by the camera 300 is supplied to the control unit 190. Alternatively, as shown in fig. 7 (B), a camera 310 for capturing the face of the driver may be mounted behind the steering wheel 310, and the image data captured by the camera 310 may be supplied to the control unit 190 via the input unit 110 of the in-vehicle device 100. The control unit 190 analyzes the image data captured by the camera 300 and supplies the analysis result to the authentication execution unit 250. The authentication execution unit 250 compares the face after the image analysis with the face of the driver registered in advance, and determines whether or not both of them match.
When the driver wears sunglasses as shown in fig. 7 (C) or wears a mask as shown in fig. 7 (D), face authentication may be difficult even for the same person. Alternatively, if the sun is irradiated too strongly or the space in the vehicle is too dark, the face represented by the image data captured by the camera 300 is not clear, and face authentication becomes difficult. Regarding the statuses of the users in fig. 7 (C) and (D), the image data captured by the camera 300 can be used as the settlement status information. In this case, the authentication method determining unit 230 determines that the face authentication is not appropriate, and the authentication method switching unit 240 automatically switches to another available authentication method. The authentication method switching unit 240 switches to fingerprint authentication as shown in fig. 7 (E) or to password input as shown in fig. 7 (F), for example. Fig. 7 (E) shows an example of fingerprint authentication using the touch panel of the display unit 150, but in addition, fingerprint authentication may be performed using a dedicated authentication button. Fig. 7 (F) shows an example in which a password is input using a dedicated input key, but a password may be input using a touch panel of the display unit 150.
Fig. 8 shows a second switching example of the authentication method according to the present embodiment. Here, fingerprint authentication is set as an authentication method. As shown in fig. 8 (a), when the driver wears gloves, the authentication method determination unit 230 determines that fingerprint authentication is not easy. The image data of the camera 300 can be used as settlement situation information regarding the situation in which the driver wears gloves. In this case, the authentication method switching unit 240 automatically switches the authentication method from fingerprint authentication to face authentication shown in fig. 8 (B) or password input shown in fig. 8 (C).
Fig. 9 shows a third switching example of the authentication method according to the present embodiment. Here, as the authentication method, password input is set. As shown in fig. 9 (a), when the passenger seat is occupied by a passenger, the authentication method determining unit 230 determines that the password input is not appropriate in order to protect privacy. The presence or absence of the passenger can be used as the situation determination information by using the image data of the camera 300 or the detection result of the seat sensor. In this case, the authentication method switching unit 240 automatically switches the authentication method from password input to face authentication shown in fig. 9 (B) or fingerprint authentication shown in fig. 9 (C).
As described above, according to the present embodiment, when electronic settlement is performed in a vehicle-mounted environment, if a preset authentication method is not suitable for electronic settlement, the authentication method is automatically switched to another authentication method, and therefore, the convenience of the authentication method required for electronic settlement can be improved.
As a modification of the above embodiment, for example, when face authentication is set, when a driver wears sunglasses and gloves during electronic settlement, it is difficult to perform face authentication, and even if switching to fingerprint authentication is made, it is difficult to perform fingerprint authentication. In this case, the authentication method determining unit 230 may determine that the fingerprint authentication, which is a candidate for switching the authentication method, is not appropriate, and the authentication method switching unit 240 may automatically switch to the password input. Similarly, when the driver wears sunglasses and the fellow passenger is present at the time of electronic settlement, the authentication method determination unit 230 may determine that the set face authentication is not appropriate and that the password input as the switching candidate is not appropriate, and the authentication method switching unit 240 may automatically switch to the fingerprint authentication.
In the above-described embodiment, the face authentication, the fingerprint authentication, and the password input are shown as the authentication methods, but these are just examples, and other authentication methods may be used. For example, even in the case of vein authentication of a hand, authentication using a capillary vessel of a fundus, or voiceprint authentication, whether or not these authentications are appropriate for electronic settlement can be determined based on information on whether or not the driver wears sunglasses, a mask, or gloves, and if not appropriate, the authentication is automatically switched to another authentication method.
In the above-described embodiment, the example in which the authentication method for performing electronic settlement in the in-vehicle environment is automatically switched has been described, but the present invention is not limited to the electronic settlement in the in-vehicle space or in-vehicle environment, and can be applied to electronic settlement in other spaces or environments. For example, an electronic settlement function may be mounted on a smartphone, and when a user performs electronic settlement in a store or the like while holding the smartphone, the user may determine whether or not a set authentication method is appropriate based on image data of a camera mounted on the smartphone, and when it is determined that the authentication method is not appropriate, the user may automatically switch to another authentication method. For example, when face authentication is set, if the user wears sunglasses, the face authentication is automatically switched to fingerprint authentication or password input.
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments, and various modifications and changes can be made within the scope of the invention described in the claims.
