Description

Non-combustion heating smoking article and non-combustion heating smoking system
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a non-combustion heated smoking article and a non-combustion heated smoking system.
Background
A general combustion smoking article (tobacco) for smoking by combustion includes a tobacco-containing segment formed by winding a tobacco filler into a cylindrical shape with a paper-made packing material, and a mouthpiece segment formed by winding a fiber formed of cellulose acetate or the like or a paper roll provided with wrinkles into a cylindrical shape with a paper-made packing material, in which a flavor, a humectant, an appropriate amount of moisture, and the like are added to dry tobacco leaves cut to a width of about 1 mm. The tobacco-containing section and the cigarette holder section are connected together through lining paper. The smoker takes a cigarette by igniting the end of the tobacco-containing segment with a lighter or the like and drawing the tobacco from the end of the mouthpiece segment. The front end of the tobacco-containing segment is burned at a temperature exceeding 800 ℃.
As an alternative to such a general combustion smoking article, a non-combustion heating smoking article and a non-combustion heating smoking system have been developed, in which combustion is replaced by heating (for example, patent documents 1 to 6). The heating temperature is lower than the combustion temperature in a burning smoking article, for example at 400 ℃ or lower. In a non-combustion heated smoking article, the tobacco segment-containing tobacco filler comprises an aerosol-generating substrate such as glycerin, Propylene Glycol (PG), triethyl citrate (TEC), triacetin, and the like. The aerosol-generating substrate is vaporised by heating and moved by suction to a cooling segment within the mouthpiece segment, after cooling more reliably generating an aerosol. When the aerosol is sucked from the filter segment provided at the end portion on the suction side in the mouthpiece segment, the aerosol is also sucked together, and hence the satisfaction of the smoker can be ensured.
The non-combustion heating smoking system generally includes: a columnar non-combustion heating smoking article having a shape similar to that of a general combustion smoking article, and a heating device including a battery, a controller, a heater, and the like. Examples of the heater include a heater using a resistor and a heater using IH. Examples of a heating method of the heater using the resistance include: a method of heating from the outside of a non-combustion heated smoking article with a heater; a method of inserting a needle-like or blade-like heater into a tobacco-containing segment containing tobacco filler from the tip of a non-combustion heating smoking article to heat the smoking article, and the like.

Disclosure of Invention
Problems to be solved by the invention
As described above, the aerosol-generating substrate (hereinafter also referred to as an aerosol-vaporized component) vaporized by heating is cooled mainly in the cooling stage, and condensation from vapor to particles occurs to become an aerosol. Here, the aerosol-vaporizing composition is required to be sufficiently cooled so that the smoker can draw from the filter segment provided at the mouthpiece-side end portion. As a cooling stage for a non-combustion heating smoking article, for example, patent document 4 discloses the following configuration: the outer periphery of the cylindrical portion of the cavity is provided with perforations, and external air is introduced from the perforations during suction, so that the aerosol vaporization component is cooled by contact with the external air.
However, the smoker's lips also feel hot when smoking. That is, even if the temperature of the aerosol vaporization component is lowered by cooling, the smoker feels discomfort when the temperature of the mouthpiece is transmitted to the lips. Therefore, in order to obtain a satisfactory smoking sensation, the smoker must experience a temperature suitable for smoking on the lips. In view of the above, an object of the present invention is to provide a non-combustion heated smoking article in which a smoker feels a temperature suitable for smoking on the lips during smoking, and a non-combustion heated smoking system including the non-combustion heated smoking article.

Detailed Description
[ non-burning heating smoking article ]
The non-combustion heating smoking article of the present invention comprises: a tobacco-containing segment comprising tobacco and an aerosol-generating substrate, a cylindrical cooling segment having perforations on the outer periphery, and a filter segment. This filter tip section possesses: a filler, an inner filter rod forming paper for winding the filler, and an outer filter rod forming paper for winding the filler, wherein at least one of the inner filter rod forming paper and the outer filter rod forming paper has a weight per unit area of 40g/m2The above paper having a thickness of 100 μm or more. Fig. 1 shows an outline of the present invention. In fig. 1, 1 is a tobacco-containing segment, 3 is a cooling segment, 5 is a filter segment, 5in is inner filter rod forming paper, and 5out is outer filter rod forming paper. The aerosol-vaporized component generated in the tobacco-containing segment 1 is cooled in the cooling segment 3 to become an aerosol, and introduced into the filter segment 5. In the present invention, the packing material constituting the filter segment 5 has a specific weight per unit area and thickness, and therefore exhibits excellent heat insulation properties. Thus, the smoker's lips experience a temperature suitable for smoking.
Figure 2 shows a preferred embodiment of the non-combustion heated smoking article of the present invention. In the figure, 20 is a non-burning heated smoking article, 1 is a tobacco-containing segment, and 2 is a mouthpiece segment. The mouthpiece section 2 includes: cooling section 3, centre bore section 4, filter tip section 5. The central bore section 4 is sometimes referred to in combination with the filter section 5 as a "filter section". When smoking, the tobacco-containing segment 1 is heated and is drawn from the end of the filter segment 5.
The tobacco-containing segment 1 has: a tobacco filler 6 containing tobacco and an aerosol-generating substrate, and a tubular wrapping material 7 covering the tobacco filler 6. The tobacco filler 6 may further contain a volatile flavor component and water. The size of the tobacco used as the filler and the method of producing the same are not limited. For example, cut tobacco in which dried tobacco leaves are cut into pieces having a width of 0.8 to 1.2mm can be used. When the shredded tobacco is cut into the above width, the length of the shredded tobacco is about 5-20 mm. Further, the dried tobacco leaves may be pulverized into a uniform material having an average particle diameter of about 20 to 200 μm, and then processed into pieces, and the pieces may be cut into tobacco shreds having a width of 0.8 to 1.2 mm. When the shredded tobacco is cut into the above width, the length of the shredded tobacco is about 5-20 mm. Further, the tobacco sheet may be collected and processed without being cut into pieces, and used as filler. Further, the plurality of cylindrical pieces may be arranged concentrically. Similarly, when the dried tobacco leaves are cut and used, and when the tobacco leaves are used in the form of a sheet after being pulverized and homogenized, various types of tobacco can be used as the tobacco contained in the tobacco filler. Yellow seed, burley seed, oriental tobacco seed, indigenous variety, and other tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) line varieties, and yellow flower tobacco (Nicotiana rustica) line varieties can be appropriately mixed and used to achieve the target taste. The details of the above tobacco varieties are disclosed in "the tobacco classics, the tobacco general research center, 2009.3.31".
There are a number of conventional methods for pulverizing tobacco and processing the same into a homogenized sheet. The first is a sheet made by a papermaking process, the second is a cast sheet prepared by mixing and homogenizing a sheet with a suitable solvent such as water, casting the sheet into a thin homogenized product on a metal plate or a metal plate belt, drying the cast sheet, and the third is a rolled sheet prepared by mixing and homogenizing a sheet with a suitable solvent such as water, and then extruding the sheet. Details of the types of the above-mentioned homogenized sheets are disclosed in "the tobacco classics, the center for tobacco general research, 2009.3.31".

In addition, these volatile perfume ingredients may be used singly or two or more kinds may be used in combination.
The content of the aerosol-generating substrate in the tobacco filler 6 is not particularly limited, and is usually 5 to 50 mass%, preferably 10 to 20 mass%, from the viewpoint of sufficiently generating aerosol and imparting good taste. When the tobacco filler 6 contains a volatile flavor component, the content of the volatile flavor component in the tobacco filler is not particularly limited, and is usually 10000ppm or more, preferably 20000ppm or more, more preferably 25000ppm or more, and usually 50000ppm or less, preferably 40000ppm or less, more preferably 33000ppm or less, relative to the amount of the tobacco filler, from the viewpoint of imparting a good taste.
The method of filling the tobacco filler 6 into the wrapping material 7 is not particularly limited, and for example, the tobacco filler 6 may be wrapped with the wrapping material 7, or the tobacco filler 6 may be filled into the cylindrical wrapping material 7. When the tobacco has a rectangular shape and a longitudinal direction, the tobacco may be filled so that the longitudinal direction of the tobacco is in an unspecified direction in the wrapping material 7, or may be filled so that the tobacco is aligned in the axial direction of the tobacco-containing segment 1 or in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction. By heating the tobacco-containing segment 1, the tobacco components contained in the tobacco filler 6, the aerosol-generating substrate, and water are vaporized, and these are moved to the mouthpiece segment 2 by suction.
The cooling stage 3 is constituted by a cylindrical member 8. The cylindrical member 8 may be, for example, a paper tube obtained by processing thick paper into a cylindrical shape. The cylindrical member 8 and a mouthpiece paper 15 described later may be provided with a through hole 9 penetrating both. Through the perforations 9, air is introduced into the cooling section 3 from the outside during the suction. As a result, the aerosol-vaporized component generated by heating the tobacco-containing segment 1 comes into contact with the outside air, and the temperature thereof is lowered, so that the aerosol is liquefied and formed. The diameter (diameter length) of the through hole 9 is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 0.5 to 1.5 mm. The number of the perforations 9 is not particularly limited, and may be one, or two or more. For example, a plurality of perforations 9 may be provided on the outer circumference of the cooling section 3. The amount of the external gas introduced through the perforations 9 is preferably 85 vol% or less, and more preferably 80 vol% or less, based on the volume of the whole gas drawn by the smoker. The lower limit is preferably 55% by volume or more, and more preferably 60% by volume or more. By setting the ratio of the amount of external gas in this range, the reduction in the smell of fragrance due to dilution with external gas can be sufficiently suppressed.
The central hole section is formed by a filling layer with a hollow part and inner filter rod forming paper covering the filling layer. For example, the central hole section 4 is constituted by a first filling layer 10 having a hollow portion and a first inner filter rod-forming paper 11 covering the first filling layer 10. The central bore section 4 also has the function of increasing the strength of the mouthpiece section 2. The first filling layer 10 is filled with, for example, cellulose acetate fibers at a high density, and a plasticizer containing triacetin is added in an amount of 6 to 20 mass% based on the mass of the cellulose acetate fibers, and the mixture is cured to form a hollow rod. Since the packing density of the fibers of the first filler layer 10 is high, air or aerosol flows only in the hollow portion during suction, and hardly flows in the first filler layer 10. The first filling layer 10 inside the central hole section 4 is a fibrous filling layer, and therefore, the feeling from the outside in use is less uncomfortable for the smoker. The central bore segment 4 is preferably further wrapped with outer plug wrap 14. As shown in fig. 2, the outer plug wrap 14 may wrap around both the central hole segment 4 and the filter segment 5.
The filter segment of the present invention is not particularly limited in its structure, and includes, for example, a second filler layer 12, a second inner plug wrap 13 (5 in fig. 1) wrapping the second filler layer 12, and an outer plug wrap 14 (5 out in fig. 1) wrapping the second filler layer 12, as in the filter segment 5 of fig. 2. In the filter segment 5, the second filler layer 12 is present up to the end of the mouthpiece, and therefore the end has the same appearance as a conventional combustion smoking article.
At least one of the inner plug wrap 13 or the outer plug wrap 14 has a weight per unit area of 40g/m2The above paper having a thickness of 100 μm or more. Such paper has a relatively large weight per unit area and is thick, and therefore, has good heat insulation properties and is suitable for smokers during smokingThe lips will experience a temperature suitable for smoking. From this viewpoint, it is preferable that both the inner plug wrap and the outer plug wrap be formed of the paper. The weight per unit area is more preferably 60g/m2The upper limit is not limited, but is preferably 150g/m2Hereinafter, more preferably 130g/m2The following. The thickness is more preferably 110 μm or more, and the upper limit thereof is not limited, but is preferably 150 μm or less, and more preferably 130 μm or less. When the weight per unit area and the thickness are in such ranges, the production of the non-combustion heating smoking article is also facilitated. In order to further improve the insulation efficiency, it is preferred that one or both of the inner plug wrap 11 or the outer plug wrap 14 constituting the central bore section 4 also be composed of the above-mentioned paper. The central bore section 4 and the filter section 5 may be joined together by an outer plug wrap 14.
The circumference of the filter segment 5 is not particularly limited, but is preferably 16 to 25mm, more preferably 20 to 24mm, and still more preferably 21 to 23 mm. The length of the filter segment 5in the axial direction (horizontal direction in fig. 2) is not particularly limited, but is preferably 3 to 15mm, and more preferably 5 to 10 mm. The shape of the cross section of the filter segment 5 is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, circular, elliptical, polygonal, or the like.
The tobacco-containing segment 1 and the cooling segment 3, as well as the joined central bore segment 4 and filter segment 5, are joined together by a tipping paper 15. These can be connected by, for example, applying a paste such as a vinyl acetate paste on the inner surface of the mouthpiece lining paper 15, and wrapping the three pieces and winding them.
The length of the non-combustion heating smoking article of the present invention in the axial direction, i.e., in the horizontal direction in fig. 2 is not particularly limited, but is preferably 40mm to 90mm, more preferably 50mm to 75mm, and still more preferably 50mm to 60 mm. The circumference of the non-combustion heating type smoking article is preferably 16mm to 25mm, more preferably 20mm to 24mm, and still more preferably 21mm to 23 mm. Examples thereof include: the tobacco-containing segment 1 has a length of 20mm, the cooling segment 3 has a length of 20mm, the central hole segment 4 has a length of 8mm, and the filter segment 5 has a length of 7 mm. The length of the filter section 1 can be selected within the range of 4-10 mm, and the ventilation resistance of each section of the filter section 1 at the moment can be selected to be 15-60 mmH2O/seg. These segment lengths may be appropriately changed according to manufacturing suitability, required quality, and the like. Further, even if only the filter segment is disposed downstream of the cooling segment without using the central hole segment, it can function as a non-combustion heating smoking article.
[ non-combustion heating smoking System ]
The non-combustion heating smoking system of the present invention comprises: the non-combustion heated smoking article of the present invention, and a heating device for heating a tobacco-containing segment. The above-described non-combustion heating smoking system is provided with the non-combustion heating smoking article of the present invention, and therefore, the aerosol vaporization component can be sufficiently cooled without impairing the flavor of the aerosol. The non-combustion heating smoking system of the present invention is not particularly limited as long as it includes the non-combustion heating smoking article of the present invention and the heating device, and may have other configurations.
Fig. 3 shows an example of a non-combustion heating and smoking system according to the present invention. The non-combustion heating smoking system shown in fig. 3 includes: the non-combustion heating smoking article 20 of the present invention and the heating device 21 for heating the tobacco-containing segment of the non-combustion heating smoking article 20 from the outside. The heating device 21 shown in fig. 3 includes: a body 22, a heater 23, a metal tube 24, a battery unit 25, and a control unit 26. The main body 22 has a cylindrical recess 27, and the heater 23 and the metal pipe 24 are arranged on the inner side surface of the recess 27 at positions corresponding to the tobacco-containing segment of the non-combustion heating smoking article 20 inserted into the recess 27. The heater 23 may be a heater using a resistance, and the heater 23 is heated by supplying power from the battery unit 25 in response to an instruction from the control unit 26 that controls the temperature. The heat emitted from the heater 23 is transferred to the tobacco-containing segment of the non-combustion heated smoking article 20 through the metal tube 24 of high thermal conductivity. In fig. 3(b), although a gap is schematically illustrated, between the outer periphery of the non-combustion heated smoking article 20 and the inner periphery of the metal pipe 24, it is actually desirable that no gap is provided between the outer periphery of the non-combustion heated smoking article 20 and the inner periphery of the metal pipe 24 for the purpose of efficiently conducting heat. The heating device 21 may heat the tobacco-containing segment of the non-combustion heating smoking article 20 from the outside, or may heat the tobacco-containing segment from the inside.
The heating temperature by the heating device is not particularly limited, but is preferably 400 ℃ or lower, more preferably 150 ℃ or higher and 400 ℃ or lower, and further preferably 200 ℃ or higher and 350 ℃ or lower. The heating temperature refers to a temperature of a heater of the heating device.
Examples
[ example 1]
A non-combustion heated smoking article having a total length of 55mm, which was formed by joining a tobacco-containing segment, a cooling segment, a center hole segment, and a filter segment in this order as shown in FIG. 2, was prepared. The dimensions of the individual segments are shown in table 1.
[ Table 1]
TABLE 1 dimensions of the sections
Tobacco-containing segment Cooling section Central bore section Filter segment
Length (mm) 20 20 8 7
Outer diameter (mm) 7.0 6.9 6.9 6.9
Inner diameter (mm) - 6.5 4.0 -
At the periphery of the cooling zone, 15 perforations were arranged in a row in a circle around the periphery. The perforations are arranged at equal intervals so that Vf becomes about 70 vol%. Vf is defined by the amount of external gas introduced from the perforations 9/the amount of gas pumped by the user as a whole. The distance from the joint surface of the cooling section and the central hole section to the through hole is set to be 2-4 mm.
Smoking tests were conducted on a group of 5 persons who had been fully trained with respect to sensory evaluation of smoking articles obtained by heating non-combustion heated smoking articles. The sensory temperature felt in the lips was evaluated according to the following criteria.
1: is very suitable for smoking
2: is well suited for smoking
3: is suitable for smoking
4: slightly adapted for smoking
5: not suitable for smoking
Specifically, a 5-person group smoked conventional commercially available tobacco burned, and the sensory temperature felt by the lips was set to "1: very suitable for smoking ", the standard was unified, and then the non-combustion heating smoking articles of each example were evaluated.
The filter section of the non-burning heated smoking article is connected to the smoking machine by a tube. A thermocouple was inserted from the outer periphery of the tube, and the tip of the thermocouple was disposed 7mm from the mouth end and on the central axis of the non-combustion heated smoking article. Heating the tobacco containing segment of the non-combustible heated smoking article by a heater and smoking by the smoking machine. The heating by the heater was maintained at 230 ℃ for 50 seconds, at 200 ℃ for 130 seconds, and then at 170 ℃. The pumping is performed as follows: based on the CIR method (canadian forced smoking conditions method), an average of 55ml/2 sec per puff (30 sec interval between puffs, i.e., 2 sec puff and 28 sec standby) was set, and three puffs were performed in total. The maximum temperature was recorded from the temperature of each puff as the smoke temperature. The results are shown in Table 2.
