At present, sonar technology is the most commonly used for underwater communication, navigation and distance measurement can be achieved, and underwater detection and communication are achieved through electroacoustic conversion and information processing. The sonar technology is the most widely used device in water acoustics, and comprises an active type and a passive type, wherein the active sonar technology is that sonar actively emits sound waves to 'irradiate' a target, then echoes reflected by the target in water are received, and parameters of the target are determined according to echo time and echo parameters. A sonar that purposefully actively emits sound waves from the system is called an active sonar. The passive sonar technology is used for passively receiving radiation noise generated by underwater targets such as ships and warships and signals emitted by underwater acoustic equipment so as to determine the azimuth and distance of the targets. The device is developed from a simple hydrophone, listens to noise emitted by a target, judges the position and certain characteristics of the target, and is particularly suitable for devices which cannot emit sound and expose the device and need to detect the position and distance of the opposite side. At present, due to continuous progress of science and technology, sonar instruments are highly miniaturized, modularized and computerized, and the shape and the size can be changed according to the power.
