Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure more clear, the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present disclosure will be described below clearly and completely with reference to the accompanying drawings of the embodiments of the present disclosure. It is to be understood that the described embodiments are only a few embodiments of the present disclosure, and not all embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the described embodiments of the disclosure without any inventive step, are within the scope of protection of the disclosure.
Unless otherwise defined, technical or scientific terms used herein shall have the ordinary meaning as understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which this disclosure belongs. The use of "first," "second," and similar terms in this disclosure is not intended to indicate any order, quantity, or importance, but rather is used to distinguish one element from another. The word "comprising" or "comprises", and the like, means that the element or item listed before the word covers the element or item listed after the word and its equivalents, but does not exclude other elements or items. The terms "connected" or "coupled" and the like are not restricted to physical or mechanical connections, but may include electrical connections, whether direct or indirect. "upper", "lower", "left", "right", and the like are used merely to indicate relative positional relationships, and when the absolute position of the object being described is changed, the relative positional relationships may also be changed accordingly.
To maintain the following description of the embodiments of the present disclosure clear and concise, a detailed description of known functions and known components have been omitted from the present disclosure.
A first embodiment of the present disclosure provides a display panel, a structural cross-section of which is schematically shown in fig. 1, including:
the display device comprises a flexible display device 1, a first functional film layer 2 and a second functional film layer 3; the first functional film layer 2 is arranged on the upper layer of the flexible display device 1, and the first functional film layer is close to the user side; the second functional film layer 3 is arranged on the lower layer of the flexible display device 1, and the second functional film layer is far away from the user side; a plurality of support structures 4 having a curling supporting force in a curling direction are arranged on a side of the second functional film layer 3 away from the flexible display device 1, and the plurality of support structures 4 are discontinuously distributed on two sides of the second functional film layer 3 curled in the curling direction.
The embodiment of the disclosure has increased bearing structure on the functional film layer at the flexible display device back, increases the regional support dynamics of both sides of display panel in the direction of curling through the bearing structure who increases for the stress state of both sides region is close with the stress state of middle zone, and then solves the problem that fold, deformation appear easily in display panel edge, has promoted display panel's life, has improved user experience.
In a specific implementation, the above-mentioned support structure mainly aims to support two side regions of the display panel in the curling direction, and therefore, the support structure should have a resistance in the curling direction, but if the resistance provided by the support structure is continuous, the support structure is not easy to curl when the display panel is curled, and therefore, the disclosed embodiment adopts an intermittent distribution manner to provide the support structure in two side regions of the second functional film layer, and specifically, the pattern of the support structure may be, for example, a type one, a type , a type + or a type h.
The first functional film layer may include related layers on the upper layer of the flexible display device near the user side in the existing display panel, such as a circular polarizer, a touch panel, a cover plate, and the like. The second functional film layer may include related layers on the user side of the flexible display device in the existing display panel, such as a back protective film, a graphite sheet, and the like. At this time, the support structure may be disposed on the second functional film layer in an adhering manner. The support structure may be made of metal, graphite, organic polymer, etc.
In some cases, in order to make the display panel have better support and avoid the stress of the support structure from being displayed on the first functional film layer side in a hidden manner, the second functional film layer may further include a metal sheet with a stronger support effect, and the metal sheet is disposed outside the graphite sheet, and further, the support structure may be disposed on the metal sheet in an etching manner so as to be integrally disposed with the metal sheet. Of course, the etching method may not be used, but the pasting method may be continuously used, that is, the metal sheet itself has no change.
As for the distribution pattern of the support structure, it may be arranged in accordance with a predetermined distribution pattern, which will be described in detail below with reference to specific examples in which the support structure is exemplified by model .
The display panel includes a flexible display device (e.g., an OLED) and functional film layers (a front film layer such as a circular polarizer, a touch panel, a cover plate, and the like, and a back film layer such as a back protective film, a graphite sheet, a metal sheet, and the like) attached to front and back sides of the flexible display device, only a position of the flexible display device is shown in fig. 2 (a position of an inner layer implementation frame in the figure is a flexible display device when viewed from a user side, and a position of the flexible display device is shown by a dashed frame when viewed from a side away from the user in a subsequent figure) to show the front and back sides, and other functional film layers are omitted.
Two dashed lines are shown in fig. 2, which are stress area indicators, i.e., the stress in fig. 2 is divided into two deformation areas when a curl occurs. For the deformation area I, the stress on one side or the stress on two sides is not uniform; and the deformation area II has relatively uniform stress on the area boundary and is subjected to the force generated when the deformation areas I distributed on the two sides of the deformation area II are curled. The two regions are stressed differently, so that the same film layer is deformed to different degrees in curling, and macroscopically, the edge wrinkles are shown, and the closer to the edge, the deeper the wrinkles are.
In order to eliminate the edge folding phenomenon, a support structure is added on the back of the device, the whole support structure is composed of a plurality of small type support structures, type support structures are continuously arranged, as shown in fig. 3 and fig. 4, fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of a display panel provided with the support structures (when the display panel is seen from the side far away from the user to the user side), and fig. 4 is a schematic diagram of a cross section of fig. 3 (the top is type support structure). The discontinuously distributed support structures can not cause new stress concentration problem, and can support the edge integrally, thereby realizing the elimination of the 'thin waist' problem caused by uneven stress in the curling process. The -type support structure can be made of metal such as copper foil, stainless steel, graphite, or organic polymer.
Facing different curling requirements, the arrangement, relative position and density of the -type supporting structure can be adjusted to meet different requirements.
In general, stress generated during the curling process may be concentrated at the end of the curled display panel, and the stress concentration may cause damage to the flexible display device, and as shown in fig. 5, the distribution of the -type support structures may be arranged from the beginning to the end with an increasing trend, that is, the -type support structures increase with the increase of the stress, and more arrangements may be provided based on this concept, and are not described herein again.
It is also possible to provide -type support structures at both the beginning and end of the curl, with -type support structures decreasing in number and increasing in number, as shown in fig. 6, and the -type support structures at the beginning may be the same as the end, or of course, may be different. The starting section is provided with a certain amount of types for supporting from the beginning and reducing the possibility of deformation.
The -type supporting structure may be a single layer of material, or may be etched based on a metal sheet, and a layer of metal of a part of the metal sheet is hollowed to form a metal sheet with a -type pattern, that is, the metal sheet and the supporting structure are designed as a whole, then the -type supporting structure may be a hollowed-out pattern or a pattern tending to be hollowed-out, as shown in fig. 7, which is an indication that a -type supporting structure is provided on a metal plate (when a panel is displayed from a side far from a user to the user side), where the -type supporting structure is etched on the metal sheet, and fig. 8 is a cross-sectional view of fig. 7.
According to the embodiment of the disclosure, the supporting structure is added on the back surface of the flexible 0LED display device, and the problem of uneven deformation of the edge in the back-and-forth curling process is solved by utilizing the design and specific distribution of the supporting structure; on the other hand, by setting the distribution, the effect of curling can also be adjusted.
The embodiment of the present disclosure further provides an electronic device, which at least includes the display panel in the above embodiment of the present disclosure, and details are not repeated here.
