Abstract
本发明涉及一种低成本且高效能的数据中心,采分层异构储存,其中包括至少三群伺服器,相应存取频度不同的三种数据,提供三种储存媒介。三群伺服器彼此以网络连结。相应中度存取频度的数据,对应的该群伺服器是以多个阶储存单元建构的一种固态硬盘为储存媒介,全盘以一伪单阶储存单元模式操作。
Description
技术领域
本发明有关于分层异构数据中心。
背景技术
随着连网装置普及、云端技术发达,数据中心(data center)需求大幅提升。因应爆炸增长的数据量,数据中心可采分层异构储存(hierarchical and heterogeneousstorage)。
数据中心需要处理的数据很多,但仅有部分数据需要持续的实时处理,也不是所有数据都需要永久保存。根据数据的使用频度或/以及重要性,数据可被分为三种:频繁存取的热数据;久久才被读取的冷数据;以及存取频度位于热数据以及冷数据之间的温数据。分层异构储存是将数据分类、并以不同特性的储存介质储存。
然而,分层异构储存架构中,适应特定层级的储存介质可能相当昂贵,导致数据中心建构成本过高。如何低成本地建立数据中心,乃本技术领域一项重要工作。
发明内容
本发明揭示一种分层异构储存的数据中心,其中以全盘采伪单阶储存单元(pseudo single level cell)模式操作的固态硬盘实现特定层的储存媒介。
根据本发明一种实施方式实现的分层异构储存数据中心包括:第一群伺服器;第二群伺服器;以及第三群伺服器。第一群伺服器相应第一种数据提供第一种储存媒介。第二群伺服器相应第二种数据提供第二种储存媒介。第三群伺服器相应第三种数据提供第三种储存媒介。上述第一群伺服器、第二群伺服器以及第三群伺服器彼此以网络连结。上述第一种数据的存取频度高于上述第二种数据。上述第二种数据的存取频度高于上述第三种数据。上述第二种储存媒介为高阶储存单元建构的一种固态硬盘,是全盘以一伪单阶储存单元模式操作。
一种实施方式中,使用者经网络上传的数据经辨识属上述第二种数据后,是经上述第二群伺服器,以该伪单阶储存单元模式,程式化至上述第二种储存媒介。
一种实施方式中,上述第一群伺服器自上述第一种储存媒介经网络传递给上述第二群伺服器的数据,是以该伪单阶储存单元模式,程式化至上述第二种储存媒介。
一种实施方式中,上述第三群伺服器自上述第三种储存媒介经网络传递给上述第二群伺服器的数据,是以该伪单阶储存单元模式,程式化至上述第二种储存媒介。
一种实施方式中,该第二种储存媒介是将垃圾回收的数据以该伪单阶储存单元模式程式化。
一种实施方式中,该第三种储存媒介同为该种固态硬盘,对数据的储存采用一高阶储存单元模式。
一种实施方式中,数据是经该伪单阶储存单元模式写入该第三种储存媒介后,再经垃圾回收以该高阶储存单元模式储存。
一种实施方式中,该第一种储存媒介采挥发式储存。
一种实施方式中,该第一种储存媒介为双倍数据率同步动态随机存取存储器。
一种实施方式中,该第一种储存媒介的存取速度高于该第二种储存媒介,且该第二种储存媒介的存取速度高于该第三种储存媒介。
一种实施方式中,该第一种储存媒介的容量小于该第二种储存媒介,且该第二种储存媒介的容量小于该第三种储存媒介。
一种实施方式中,上述第二群伺服器为云端日志的浏览提供上述第二种储存媒介。
下文特举实施例,并配合附图,详细说明本发明内容。

具体实施方式
以下叙述列举本发明的多种实施例。以下叙述介绍本发明的基本概念,且并非意图限制本发明内容。实际发明范围应依照权利要求书范围来界定。
快闪存储器(flash memory)为常见的一种非挥发式存储器,提供长时间数据保存。现今数据储存装置常以快闪存储器为储存媒介,实现固态硬盘(SSD)…等产品。固态硬盘(SSD)可用于建构数据中心(data center)。
本发明因应爆炸增长的数据量,采分层异构储存(hierarchical andheterogeneous storage)实现数据中心。数据中心可根据存取频度或/以及重要性将数据分类,并将不同类的数据以不同的储存媒介储存。本发明固态硬盘(SSD)可操作在高速模式并作为分层异构储存的数据中心的其中一种储存媒介。
快闪存储器可依照其单元储存能力分成多种型号。SLC(Single Level Cell,单阶储存单元)快闪存储器的储存单元各自对应一个位元的数据。MLC(Multiple Level Cell,多阶储存单元)快闪存储器的储存单元各自对应两个位元的数据。TLC(Triple LevelCell,三阶储存单元)快闪存储器的储存单元各自对应三个位元的数据。QLC(Quad LevelCell,四阶储存单元)快闪存储器的储存单元各自对应四个位元的数据。
图1A、图1B、以及图1C分别对应单阶储存单元SLC、多阶储存单元MLC、以及三阶储存单元TLC,其中以闸极浮动电子进行划分,图解不同逻辑意义下,储存单元分布概率。四阶储存单元QLC的分布概率图类似,其中对应16种数位数值分布。
如图所示,储存单元的逻辑定义与其闸极浮动电子量相关。单阶储存单元SLC的逻辑分界较多个阶储存单元(MLC/TLC/QLC)明确;不仅可靠度较高、写入速度也较快。多个阶储存单元(MLC/TLC/QLC)则是在储存容量上有其优势。
然而,成本考量下,目前市面上主流使用的是多个阶储存单元(MLC/TLC/QLC)快闪存储器。单阶储存单元(SLC)的快闪存储器相当昂贵。
面对高准确度与高速需求,多个阶储存单元(MLC/TLC/QLC)快闪存储器提供一种伪单阶储存单元(pseudo SLC)操作模式,同样提供高准确度、且可以高速操作,却不像实在以单阶储存单元建构的快闪存储器如此昂贵。
图2以一个三阶储存单元(TLC)快闪存储器200为例,说明根据本发明一种实施方式所实现的伪单阶储存单元(伪SLC)操作。本发明固态硬盘(SSD)具有SSD控制器201以及TLC快闪存储器200。TLC快闪存储器200提供备用区块202,备用区块202由三阶储存单元(TLC)所构成。主动区块204选自于备用区块202的区块池,SSD控制器以SLC模式对主动区块204进行数据编程及读取。主动区块204不再进行数据编程后则成为伪SLC区块206,SSD控制器以SLC模式对伪SLC区块206进行数据的读取。最后,伪SLC区块206经回收后则成为备用区块202。每一备用区块202包括多个页面(page),一个页面(page)包括多个个区段(sector),一个区段(sector)可储存一个数据单位大小的数据,例如:512B大小的数据。
备用区块202被选取来做为主动区块204,以SLC模式进行数据编程以应付外界写入要求,使数据准确且快速地写入TLC快闪存储器200。当主动区块204被关闭或不再进行数据编程后则成为伪SLC区块206。数据经更新之后,SSD控制器将更新后的数据写入空白的区段或页面中,并使旧数据无效化,因此,伪SLC区块206可能仅零星留存有效数据。由于快闪存储器的储存空间需经抹除(erase)后方能再次使用,当备用区块202逐渐消耗而使备用区块202数量不足时(如,低于阀值),垃圾回收(Garbage Collection)需求产生。SSD控制器将伪SLC区块206所留存的零星有效数据经由垃圾回收程序而复制(伪SLC方式)至主动区块204,此时徒留无效数据的伪SLC区块206则予以回收成为备用区块202(抹除可在成为备用区块202之前或之后进行抹除),提升备用区块202数量。
特别是,为了确保本发明固态硬盘能提供较佳的数据存取效能,本发明固态硬盘较佳提供高容量的超额配置(Over-Provisioning),例如:本发明固态硬盘的数据储存量为400GB,超额配置为112GB,如此一来,可降低垃圾回收程序的启动时间,亦可增加垃圾回收程序所能释放的伪SLC区块206的数量,亦可因为降低备用区块202的抺写次数而直接增加本发明固态硬盘的使用寿命。甚至,在某些应用上(例如,只做日志浏览),伺服器应付的数据只有暂态使用需求,无须垃圾回收,可以直接抹除再使用。
图3图解分层异构储存数据中心300。分层异构储存数据中心300所处理的数据可依照存取频度或/以及重要性分为至少三种:高频率存取的热数据;低频率存取的冷数据;以及中等频率存取的温数据,其中,频率的分级较佳以每小时作为区分,也可以以每分钟或每天作为区分,次数例如高于20为高频率、次数例如低于2为低频率,次数例如介于2到20则为中等频率。
分层异构储存的架构乃是将数据分类、并以不同特性的储存介质储存。如图所示,数据中心300包括伺服器302、304以及306,彼此以网络连结通信。伺服器302负责热数据,储存介质为动态随机存取存储器,例如:双倍数据率同步动态随机存取存储器DDR,提供快速但是小容量的数据储存能力。伺服器304负责温数据,储存介质为本发明固态硬盘,提供中速、中等容量的数据储存能力。伺服器306负责冷数据,提供的储存介质为一般固态硬盘、硬盘、光碟或磁带,提供慢速但是大容量的数据储存能力。实现伺服器306的一般固态硬盘可以伪单阶储存单元模式接收数据,再经垃圾回收以多个阶储存单元模式储存。
以存取速度观之,伺服器302所采用的双倍数据率同步动态随机存取存储器DDR速度最快,伺服器304所采用的本发明固态硬盘居中,伺服器306所采用的储存介质最慢。
以容量观之,伺服器302所采用的双倍数据率同步动态随机存取存储器DDR最小,伺服器304所采用的本发明固态硬盘居中,伺服器306所采用的储存介质最大。
伺服器304的数据可以来自伺服器302或306,也可来自数据中心300的中央处理单元。数据中心300的中央处理单元可直接判定数据为温数据,并将此温数据传送至伺服器304。随着数据的存取频率的改变,SSD控制器可将温数据转标为热数据或是冷数据,此时,伺服器304可将温数据传送至伺服器302而成为热数据,或者,伺服器304可将温数据传送至伺服器306而成为冷数据。另外,数据中心300的中央处理单元亦可命令伺服器304将温数据传送至伺服器302而成为热数据,或者,命令伺服器304将温数据传送至伺服器306而成为冷数据。
采用本发明固态硬盘可有效地降低分层异构储存数据中心300的建置成本,并且达到分层异构储存的目的。另一方面,本发明固态硬盘可由一般固态硬盘进行小量韧体修改而成,设置的成本低廉且技术成熟,较采用其他新储存介质的数据储存装置而言,具有显著的吸引力。
一种实施方式中,伺服器304被用来应付云端日志的使用需求。本发明固态硬盘的存取速度与储存空间可游刃有余地应付云端日志的高频度存取以及使用量。当备份日志时,伺服器304会日志传送至伺服器306,以降低本发明固态硬盘的数据储存量─确实实现分层异构储存。
前述实施方式是以三阶储存单元(TLC)固态硬盘为例。事实上,伺服器304所使用的储存媒介还可以使用多阶储存单元(MLC)、或四阶储存单元(QLC)、或更高阶固态硬盘的全盘伪SLC操作实现。
数据中心300虽然仅标示伺服器302、304以及306,但也可以有更多群设计,达成更多层级的分层异构储存。凡是将本发明固态硬应用于非伺服器302或伺服器306,都应当属于本发明技术范围。
虽然本发明已以较佳实施例揭示如上,然其并非用以限定本发明,任何熟悉本技术领域者,在不脱离本发明的精神和范围内,当可做些许更动与润饰,因此本发明的保护范围当由权利要求书界定为准。
Claims (11)
1.一种分层异构储存数据中心,包括:
第一群伺服器,相应第一种数据提供第一种储存媒介;
第二群伺服器,相应第二种数据提供第二种储存媒介;以及
第三群伺服器,相应第三种数据提供第三种储存媒介,
其中:
上述第一群伺服器、第二群伺服器以及第三群伺服器彼此以网络连结;
上述第一种数据的存取频度高于上述第二种数据;
上述第二种数据的存取频度高于上述第三种数据;
上述第二种储存媒介为多个阶储存单元建构的一种固态硬盘,是全盘以一伪单阶储存单元模式操作;且
该第二种储存媒介是将垃圾回收的数据以该伪单阶储存单元模式程式化。
2.如权利要求1所述的分层异构储存数据中心,其特征在于:
使用者经网络上传的数据经辨识属上述第二种数据后,是经上述第二群伺服器,以该伪单阶储存单元模式,程式化至上述第二种储存媒介。
3.如权利要求2所述的分层异构储存数据中心,其特征在于:
