The present invention provides a display panel 100.
Referring to fig. 1 to fig. 3, in an embodiment of the present invention, the display panel 100 includes a flexible substrate 1 and a plurality of pixel units 2; the pixel units 2 are arranged at one side of the flexible substrate 1 at intervals, each pixel unit 2 comprises at least two sub-pixels 21 which are attached to each other, and the sub-pixels 21 of the same pixel unit 2 are identical in color.
In this embodiment, the material of the flexible substrate includes at least one of polyimide, polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene phthalate, polytetrafluoroethylene, and aramid. The base material commonly used for the flexible substrate 1 is a PI (polyimide) film and a PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film, and in addition to these, a polymer film such as PEN (polyethylene terephthalate), PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), aramid, or the like can be used. The flexible substrate 1 is an indispensable component for some display panels having a curved display function. Here, for some folding screens, the traditional glass material is hard and fragile, and the flexible substrate 1 material is one of the key elements for realizing the flexibility of the product instead of the traditional rigid glass substrate. It is understood that the flexible substrate 1 is a PCB circuit board for controlling the display content of the display panel 100. Optionally, the flexible substrate 1 has a square or rectangular shape, and the shape of the flexible substrate is adapted to the shape of the display area of the display screen.
In one embodiment, the flexible substrate 1 is made of polyimide.
In this embodiment, the Polyimide (PI) film is a film-like insulating material obtained by polycondensation, film-casting, and imidization of pyromellitic dianhydride and diaminodiphenyl ether in a strongly polar solvent. The PI film is currently the best material for the flexible substrate 1 due to its excellent high temperature resistance, mechanical properties and chemical resistance.
The flexible printed circuit board made of the PI film has the characteristics of high wiring density, light weight, thin thickness, good bending property and the like. In this embodiment, since the flexible substrate 1 is bendable, when the flexible substrate 1 is bent, the sub-pixels 21 on the flexible substrate 1 are correspondingly deflected, and a better display angle is presented. Specifically, when the display screen is bent when a user looks at the left side of the display screen, at least two sub-pixels 21 located on the flexible substrate 1 deflect towards two bent sides of the flexible substrate 1, and the sub-pixels 21 located on the left side of the bending point deflect towards one side of the user for display, so that the user experience is improved.
In this embodiment, in order to separately control each pixel unit 2 for display, a plurality of pixel units 2 are disposed at intervals on one side of the flexible substrate 1 and display the display. Each pixel unit 2 comprises at least two sub-pixels 21 which are attached to each other, specifically, each sub-pixel 21 has a display surface and a mounting surface which are opposite to each other, and a side wall which connects the display surface and the mounting surface, and the side walls of the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 are attached to each other. For example, the sub-pixels 21 are cubic, and a sidewall of one sub-pixel 21 is attached to a sidewall of another sub-pixel 21. When the flexible substrate 1 is bent, the sub-pixels 21 in the pixel unit 2 on the bending line can be rotated to two sides, and at this time, the sub-pixels 21 are changed from the bonding state to the included angle setting state, so that the display surfaces of the sub-pixels 21 face to two sides for displaying simultaneously.
It will be appreciated that the sub-pixels 21 of the same pixel unit 2 are of the same color, for example, all sub-pixels 21 in one pixel unit 2 display red light and all sub-pixels 21 in another pixel unit 2 display green light, so that the display content of the same pixel unit 2 is the same when the display panel 100 is bent or not bent.
According to the technical scheme of the invention, the flexible substrate 1 is adopted, so that the display panel 100 can be displayed in a bending mode. Meanwhile, the flexible substrate 1 is provided with the plurality of pixel units 2, each pixel unit 2 comprises at least two sub-pixels 21, the sub-pixels 21 in each pixel unit 2 are attached to each other, when the flexible substrate 1 is bent, the at least two sub-pixels 21 in the pixel unit 2 at the top end of the bent flexible substrate 1 rotate to two sides of a bending point respectively and display towards the side face, and therefore the display effect is improved.
In one embodiment, the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 are driven synchronously.
In this embodiment, in order to avoid the difference between the display effects of the two sides when the display panel 100 is bent, the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 are driven synchronously. That is, all the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 are simultaneously turned on or simultaneously turned off to ensure the display effect. Alternatively, the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 may be connected to the same line for synchronous driving, or the control circuit board may control the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 to be driven synchronously.
As shown in fig. 1, in an embodiment, a plurality of pixel units 2 are arranged in an array on a flexible substrate 1.
In this embodiment, the plurality of pixel units 2 are arranged on the flexible substrate 1 in a plurality of rows and columns, specifically, the plurality of pixel units 2 may be arranged in a square array or a rectangular array, and the actual arrangement mode may be arranged according to the shape of the flexible substrate 1, as long as the display side of the flexible substrate 1 is full of. The circuit layout of the circuit board is convenient for the array arrangement, the production is convenient, and the control of the pixel units 2 is convenient.
In one embodiment, each pixel unit 2 has the same size.
In order to avoid the display image failure caused by the different display effect of each pixel unit 2, the sizes of each pixel unit 2 are set to be the same. Specifically, each pixel unit 2 has the same length dimension, the same width dimension, and the same height dimension. For example, each pixel unit 2 includes two sub-pixels 21, or each pixel unit 2 includes four sub-pixels 21, and the sub-pixels 21 in each pixel unit 2 all adopt the same specification, so as to improve the display effect. It can be understood that the size of each pixel unit 2 is the same, which facilitates the production of the display panel 100 and the installation of the sub-pixels 21, and improves the production efficiency.
In an embodiment, each pixel unit 2 includes two sub-pixels 21 disposed in the same layer, the two sub-pixels 21 are disposed in an attached manner, and the attached surfaces of the two sub-pixels 21 in each pixel unit 2 are disposed in parallel.
In this embodiment, the two sub-pixels 21 are located on the flexible substrate 1 and arranged left and right or up and down. When the flexible substrate 1 is arranged left and right, the display effect of the two bent sides is unchanged while the flexible substrate can be bent left and right; when the flexible substrates are vertically arranged, the flexible substrate 1 can be vertically bent, and the display effect of the two bent sides is not changed. The attaching surfaces of the two sub-pixels 21 in each pixel unit 2 are all parallel to each other, that is, when the display panel 100 is bent, the sub-pixels 21 on the same straight line can rotate synchronously, so that the display effects of the bending areas are consistent. As shown in fig. 1, in the pixel units 2 on the same row, the bonding surfaces of two sub-pixels 21 and the bonding surfaces of other sub-pixels 21 are on the same plane, which facilitates bending of the flexible substrate 1.
As shown in fig. 4, in an embodiment, each pixel unit 2 includes four sub-pixels 21 disposed in the same layer, and the four sub-pixels 21 are disposed in a checkerboard pattern or a cross pattern.
In order to further improve the display effect of the display panel 100, the four sub-pixels 21 are arranged in a grid shape, that is, the flexible substrate 1 can be bent left and right or up and down, while the display effect of the left and right sides of the bending point or the upper and lower sides of the bending point is maintained. In other embodiments, the four sub-pixels 21 may be disposed in a cross shape.
In one embodiment, the number of the sub-pixels 21 of each pixel unit 2 is two or more, and the number of the sub-pixels 21 is two or more.
In this embodiment, in order to further improve the display effect of the display panel 100 being bent, the number of the sub-pixels 21 included in each pixel unit 2 may also be set according to the actual situation, but in order to ensure the bending efficiency and the symmetric arrangement effect of the sub-pixels 21, the number of the plurality of sub-pixels 21 is a multiple of two, for example, two, four, six, eight, and the like.
In one embodiment, each sub-pixel 21 is connected to the flexible substrate 1 by a dot solder.
In this embodiment, a plurality of solder points are uniformly soldered on the flexible substrate 1 by a solder paste dispenser, and each solder point is disposed corresponding to one pixel unit 2. Specifically, the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 are connected to the same solder point, and the sub-pixels 21 in the same pixel unit 2 can be driven synchronously by this solder point.
In one embodiment, the types of the pixel units 2 include a plurality of red pixel units 2, a plurality of green pixel units 2, and a plurality of blue pixel units 2, and the red pixel units, the green pixel units, and the blue pixel units are arranged in an array on the flexible substrate; each red pixel unit comprises at least two red sub-pixels which are arranged in an attached mode, each green pixel unit comprises at least two green sub-pixels which are arranged in an attached mode, and each blue pixel unit comprises at least two blue sub-pixels which are arranged in an attached mode.
In the embodiment, the red pixel units 2, the green pixel units 2 and the blue pixel units 2 are alternately arranged, and it can be understood that each red pixel unit 2, each green pixel unit 2 and each blue pixel unit 2 adjacent to each other are combined to form a group of display units, that is, a plurality of pixel units 2 can be combined to form a plurality of groups of display units to form different display contents.
Optionally, the red pixel units 2, the green pixel units 2 and the blue pixel units 2 in each row of the pixel units 2 are alternately arranged in sequence, for example: red, green, blue, red, green, blue and so on; meanwhile, the red pixel units 2, the green pixel units 2 and the blue pixel units 2 in each column of pixel units 2 are alternately arranged in sequence, for example: red, green, blue, red, green, blue and so on. In other embodiments, the color of the pixel units in the same row is the same, for example, the pixel units in the first row are all red pixel units, the pixel units in the second row are all green pixel units, the pixel units in the third row are all blue pixel units, and so on. The red pixel units 2, the green pixel units 2, and the blue pixel units 2 are combined to form different display contents, so that the display contents of the display panel 100 are more colorful.
