Detailed Description
It is easily understood that various embodiments of the present invention can be conceived by those skilled in the art according to the technical solution of the present invention without changing the essential spirit of the present invention. Therefore, the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings are merely illustrative of the technical aspects of the present invention, and should not be construed as all of the present invention or as limitations or limitations on the technical aspects of the present invention. The present invention may be embodied in various forms and the embodiments are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete. The preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, which form a part hereof, and which together with the embodiments of the invention serve to explain the innovative concepts of the invention.
The figures illustrate the present invention, a wading device adapted to be worn by a user. The wading device comprises an upper part made of neoprene. Under the condition that a user falls into water, the upper cover can prevent water from flowing into the wading device.
Figure 1 is a schematic front view of a wading device 10 according to an embodiment of the invention, showing the wading device 10 in a closed configuration. As shown in figure 1, the wading device 10 includes a lower mounting portion 20 and an upper mounting portion 30. The lower garment portion 20 includes a pair of legs 22, each of which is attached at its lower portion to a boot 24. The upper portion 30 includes shoulder straps 36 defining a pair of arm openings 32 and a neck opening 34, the arm openings 32 and the neck opening 34 being configured to fit closely about the arm and neck of the user, respectively. In some embodiments, each of the shoulder straps 36 may further include a free end 37, the free end 37 being provided with a fastener 38, the fastener 38 being used to fasten the upper mounting portion 30, as shown in FIG. 2 and discussed below.
The upper fitting part 30 is made of neoprene rubber and is connected to the lower fitting part. Neoprene is comfortable and flexible, but in some embodiments the material may be further elasticized to ensure a comfortable fit while also being substantially waterproof. For the purposes of the present invention, the primary waterproof function may be defined as including waterproof materials, as well as other materials that allow only slow leakage, so that a user falling into the water will not fill the device quickly with water.
The upper garment portion 30 may be connected to the lower garment portion 20 by waterproof stitching 28. In this way, the neoprene material may be suitably attached to the underlying material. If sewn, the waterproof stitching 28 may be applied with waterproof tape to encapsulate the needle holes. However, in other embodiments, any other attachment means known to those skilled in the art (e.g., strong adhesives, other methods of stitching, sealing, bonding, etc.) may be used.
Figure 2 is a schematic view of the wading device 10 in an open configuration. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and discussed above, the upper portion 30 may further include shoulder straps 36 having fasteners 38 for securing the shoulder straps 36 and defining arm openings 32 and neck openings 34 between the arm openings 32.
In this embodiment, shoulder straps 36 extend from a rear face 40 of the upper-mount portion. Each of the shoulder straps 36 includes a free end 37. The free end 37 is provided with a catch 38. Fasteners 38 are used to removably attach shoulder straps 36 to front face 42 of upper-mounting portion 30. In this embodiment, the fasteners 38 are of a hook and loop fastener construction, wherein the upper portion 30 comprises a material that can be secured to the hooks of the shoulder straps 36, or the front face 42 of the upper portion 30 can have a strip of material 44 attached thereto for fastening to the shoulder straps 36. In other embodiments, other configurations of fasteners may be used, such as staples, clips, pull strings, etc., or fasteners may be added for fastening the upper body of the user to prevent water from rushing into other parts of the wading device 10. In some embodiments, a second pair of shoulder straps 39 extend from a front face 42 of the upper-garment portion 30, wherein the shoulder straps 36 fold over the second pair of shoulder straps 39 when fastened. Of course, the front face 42 of the upper portion 30 may not include the second pair of shoulder straps 39 and may terminate adjacent the neck opening 34.
Figure 3 is a schematic view of a person wearing the wading device 10. As shown in figure 3, the waterproof material of the legs 22 and boots 24 may be somewhat loose, while the upper body portion, as described above, may be somewhat tight to the user to prevent leakage, but the elasticity of the material allows freedom of movement. However, in other embodiments, the lower garment portion 20 may be more snug or otherwise cosmetically or practically adjustable to suit the needs of the user. As shown in the figures, the lower garment portion 20 may be augmented with pockets 26 (e.g., large pockets, zippered pockets, etc.), utility attachments, reflectors, or any other desired function known in the art.
In use, a user may put on the wading device 10 by first opening the fastener 38 at the free end 37 of the shoulder strap 36, so that the upper portion 30 is opened. The trouser legs 22 and boots 24 are stepped on and the neoprene upper portion 30 is pulled up, and the upper portion 30 may then be secured to his or her upper body with the shoulder straps 36, fasteners 38, arms through the arm openings 32 and head through the neck opening 34. The wading device 10 may be used in water.
In this application, the terms "having," "including," "containing," and similar terms are defined as: "including", unless specifically stated otherwise. Moreover, the terms used in the foregoing description are defined herein to include similar and/or equivalent terms, and/or alternative embodiments are considered to be apparent to those skilled in the art in view of the teachings of the present application.
