Description

Method and device for switching overlay mode of eMTC terminal
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of Communications technologies, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for switching overlay modes of an Enhanced Machine Type Communications (eMTC) terminal.
Background
The Internet of Things (IoT) is an important component of future information technology development, and is mainly technically characterized in that objects are connected with a network through a communication technology, so that an intelligent network with man-machine interconnection and object interconnection is realized. Aiming at the characteristics of the services of the internet of things, the protocol 3GPP R13 evolves based on LTE, and designs an eMTC technology specially used for the internet of things. The eMTC has the characteristics of wide coverage (coverage enhancement relative to LTE15 dB), low cost, low power consumption and support of mass connection, wherein the wide coverage of the eMTC is realized by technologies such as repeated transmission of a plurality of continuous subframes and frequency hopping, and is suitable for industrial scenes needing deep coverage, such as basements, well lids, remote areas and the like.
The modeA mode and the modeB mode are two overlay modes of the eMTC terminal. In modeA mode, the number of repetitions is small and the rate is high, typically for near-mid points, while in modeB mode the number of repetitions is large and the rate is high, typically for far points or deep coverage far points.
The inventors discovered in the course of implementing the present invention that the existing switching scheme between modeA and modeB has a problem of reducing the transmission rate. The specific reason is analyzed as follows:
currently, switching between the modeA mode and the modeB mode is triggered according to the current Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) of the terminal, and if the RSRP of the terminal is lower than a certain threshold, switching is performed to the modeB mode, and if the RSRP of the terminal is higher than a certain threshold, switching is performed to the modeA mode.
Since the wireless environment dynamically changes in practical applications, if the RSRP threshold is not set reasonably, the mode a and mode b may not be switched reasonably, for example, if the channel quality is good, the rate is too low due to too many times of repetition, and if the channel quality is poor, the rate is too low due to too high error rate.

Drawings
FIG. 1 is a schematic flow chart of a method according to an embodiment of the present invention.
Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present application more apparent, the present application is further described in detail below by referring to the accompanying drawings and examples.
Fig. 1 is a schematic method flow diagram of an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 1, a method for switching a terminal coverage mode implemented by the embodiment mainly includes:
step 101, a terminal carries out real-time monitoring and statistics on preset transmission state parameters, and determines whether a coverage mode needs to be switched currently according to the transmission state parameters and a rate estimation condition corresponding to a preset current coverage mode; the transmission state parameters include selected MCS order, repetition number, bit error rate, and Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP).
In this step, different from the existing scheme, real-time monitoring and statistics need to be performed on the selected MCS order, repetition number, error rate and RSRP, and the timing for switching the coverage mode is determined according to these parameters and the rate estimation condition corresponding to the current coverage mode. Therefore, the accuracy of the coverage mode switching opportunity can be effectively improved, the problem that the switching opportunity is not suitable due to the fact that coverage mode switching is triggered only according to RSRP traditionally is avoided, and the problem of corresponding rate reduction can be further avoided.
The number of repetitions to be monitored in real time in this step is the number of repetitions of sending a single data packet.
Preferably, the terminal may periodically perform real-time monitoring and statistics on the transmission state parameters according to a preset statistics period, that is, the transmission state parameters are monitored and counted in real time in each statistics period, so as to accurately determine the timing of switching the coverage mode according to the parameters in real time.
In practical applications, the terminal may be an eMTC terminal, but is not limited thereto, and the terminal may be applicable as long as there is a need for switching coverage mode like the above.
In practical applications, the coverage mode adopted by the terminal will include a first coverage mode and a second coverage mode. Wherein the maximum number of repeated transmissions M of a single data packet in the first overlay mode is smaller than the maximum number of repeated transmissions N of a single data packet in the second overlay mode.
When the terminal is an eMTC terminal, the first overlay mode is a modeA mode correspondingly; the second overlay mode is a modeB mode.
Preferably, when the terminal adopts the first coverage mode, the following method can be adopted to determine whether the coverage mode needs to be switched currently:
when the terminal determines that the rate pre-estimation condition corresponding to the first coverage mode is currently met according to the current transmission state parameters, the pre-estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode is calculated according to the current selected MCS order, the repetition number and the error rate, and the pre-estimated rate corresponding to the current selected MCS order and the repetition number R is calculated according to the current selected MCS order and the repetition number RiCalculating the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode; wherein the number of repetitions RiThe preset repetition times are larger than the current repetition times and the gear is the minimum repetition times;
if the estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode is smaller than the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode, determining that the current coverage mode needs to be switched to the second coverage mode; otherwise, it is determined that switching of the overlay mode is not currently required.
In the method, when the terminal determines that the rate estimation condition corresponding to the first coverage mode is currently met according to the current transmission state parameter, it indicates that the current channel quality is poor, switching to the second coverage mode may be considered, and transmission quality is guaranteed by increasing the number of repetitions.
Here, when the estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode is smaller than the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode, it is described that the transmission rate can be increased by switching to the second coverage mode, and thus, the corresponding switching can be triggered. Therefore, the switching of the coverage mode is triggered only when the transmission rate after switching is judged to be improved, so that the accuracy of the switching time of the coverage mode can be ensured, and the reduction of the transmission rate is avoided.
The specific calculation method of the estimated rate in the above method is known to those skilled in the art, and is not described herein again.
Preferably, in order to improve the accuracy of determining the switching time of the coverage mode, the rate estimation condition corresponding to the first coverage mode may include the following, and the calculation of the estimated rate is triggered only when the following conditions are satisfied:
the currently selected MCS order is 0 order, the current error rate is greater than a preset error rate threshold value, the current reference signal receiving power is greater than a preset reference signal receiving power threshold value, and the current repetition number is greater than or equal to M.
It should be noted that, when the selected MCS order is 0 order, it is indicated that the transmission quality cannot be improved by decreasing the MCS order at this time, and the transmission quality can only be improved by increasing the number of repetitions, so that it is considered to switch to the coverage mode allowing more repetitions, that is, the second coverage mode at this time.
The bit error rate threshold and the reference signal received power threshold may be configured by those skilled in the art through an operation interface of the terminal or the base station. The range of the bit error rate threshold may be [0, 100% ], and preferably may be set to 30%, and the range of the reference signal received power threshold may be [ -90 to-140 ] dBm, and preferably may be set to-125 dBm.
Preferably, when the terminal adopts the second coverage mode, the following method can be adopted to determine whether the coverage mode needs to be switched currently:
if the MCS order selected currently is not 0 order, determining that the switching to the first coverage mode is needed currently; the maximum repeated sending times M of a single data packet in the first coverage mode are smaller than the maximum repeated sending times N of the single data packet in the second coverage mode;
if the current selected MCS order is 0 order, judging whether the rate estimation condition corresponding to the second coverage mode is met according to the current transmission state parameter, if so, calculating the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode according to the current selected MCS order, the repetition times and the error rate, and calculating the estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode according to the current selected MCS order, the maximum repeated sending times M and the target error rate of the first coverage mode;
if the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode is smaller than the estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode, determining that the current coverage mode needs to be switched to the first coverage mode; otherwise, it is determined that switching of the overlay mode is not currently required.
It should be noted that, if the MCS order currently selected is not 0 order, it is indicated that the transmission quality can be improved by decreasing the MCS order at this time, and therefore, the coverage mode allowing a smaller number of repetitions, that is, the first coverage mode, can be directly switched to. When the MCS order is 0 order, it needs to further determine whether to trigger the switching of the coverage mode based on the estimated rates of the two coverage modes, so as to ensure that the switched rate is not reduced.
Preferably, the rate estimation condition corresponding to the second coverage mode includes:
the current number of repetitions is equal to or greater than RjOr less than the difference between N and a preset first adjustment coefficient offset 1; the number of repetitions RjThe offset1 is greater than or equal to 0 for the preset repetition times which are greater than M and the minimum gear;
the current error rate is greater than the difference value between the preset error rate threshold and the preset second adjustment coefficient offset2, and the offset2 is greater than or equal to 0;
and the current reference signal received power is greater than the sum of the preset reference signal received power threshold and the preset third adjustment coefficient offset3, wherein the offset3 is greater than or equal to 0.
In practical applications, a person skilled in the art may set the first adjustment coefficient, the second adjustment coefficient, and the third adjustment coefficient according to actual needs.
And 102, when the coverage mode needs to be switched, the terminal executes corresponding coverage mode switching operation.
In this step, if the first overlay mode is currently adopted, the operation of switching to the second overlay mode needs to be executed; if the second overlay mode is currently employed, an operation of switching to the first overlay mode needs to be performed.
Corresponding to the above method embodiment, the present application further provides a device for switching a coverage mode of a terminal, where the device is disposed in the terminal and includes: a processor to:
monitoring and counting preset transmission state parameters in real time, and determining whether the coverage mode needs to be switched currently according to the transmission state parameters and a rate estimation condition corresponding to a preset current coverage mode; the transmission state parameters comprise selected MCS orders, repetition times, error rate and Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP);
and when the coverage mode needs to be switched, the terminal executes corresponding coverage mode switching operation.
Preferably, the processor is specifically configured to: when the first coverage mode is adopted, determining whether the coverage mode needs to be switched currently comprises the following steps:
when the rate pre-estimation condition corresponding to the first coverage mode is determined to be met currently according to the current transmission state parameters, calculating the pre-estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode according to the current selected MCS order, the repetition number and the error rate, and calculating the pre-estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode according to the current selected MCS order and the repetition number RiCalculating the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode; wherein the maximum number of repeated transmissions M of a single data packet in the first overlay mode is smaller than the maximum number of repeated transmissions N of a single data packet in the second overlay mode; the number of repetitions RiThe preset repetition times are larger than the current repetition times and the gear is the minimum repetition times;
if the estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode is smaller than the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode, determining that the current coverage mode needs to be switched to the second coverage mode; otherwise, it is determined that switching of the overlay mode is not currently required.
Preferably, the rate estimation condition corresponding to the first coverage mode includes: the currently selected MCS order is 0 order, the current error rate is greater than a preset error rate threshold value, the current reference signal receiving power is greater than a preset reference signal receiving power threshold value, and the current repetition number is greater than or equal to M.
Preferably, the processor is specifically configured to: when the second coverage mode is adopted, determining whether the coverage mode needs to be switched currently comprises the following steps:
if the MCS order selected currently is not 0 order, determining that the switching to the first coverage mode is needed currently; the maximum repeated sending times M of a single data packet in the first coverage mode are smaller than the maximum repeated sending times N of the single data packet in the second coverage mode;
if the current selected MCS order is 0 order, judging whether the rate estimation condition corresponding to the second coverage mode is met according to the current transmission state parameter, if so, calculating the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode according to the current selected MCS order, the repetition times and the error rate, and calculating the estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode according to the current selected MCS order, the maximum repeated sending times M and the target error rate of the first coverage mode;
if the estimated rate corresponding to the second coverage mode is smaller than the estimated rate corresponding to the first coverage mode, determining that the current coverage mode needs to be switched to the first coverage mode; otherwise, determining that the coverage mode does not need to be switched currently.
Preferably, the rate estimation condition corresponding to the second coverage mode includes:
the current number of repetitions is equal to or greater than RjOr less than the difference between N and a preset first adjustment coefficient offset 1; the number of repetitions RjThe offset1 is greater than or equal to 0 for the preset repetition times which are greater than M and the minimum gear;
the current error rate is greater than the difference value between the preset error rate threshold and the preset second adjustment coefficient offset2, and the offset2 is greater than or equal to 0;
and the current reference signal received power is greater than the sum of the preset reference signal received power threshold and the preset third adjustment coefficient offset3, wherein the offset3 is greater than or equal to 0.
Preferably, the terminal performs the real-time monitoring and statistics according to a preset statistics period.
Preferably, the terminal is an enhanced machine type communication (eMTC) terminal; the first overlay mode is a modeA mode; the second overlay mode is a modeB mode.
