一种通信方法及设备,用于解决现有技术中存在的上行免调度传输过程中UE的TA不太准确的问题。该方法包括:终端设备获取时间提前量TA。所述终端设备基于设置的规则和第一信息判断所述TA是否有效,所述第一信息包括第一参数,所述第一参数为与所述终端设备的位置相关的信息。所述TA无效时,所述终端设备确定不能进行上行数据传输。所述TA有效时,所述终端设备确定所述TA能够用于上行数据传输。本申请实施例提供的方法和设备提高了网络的覆盖能力,可以应用于物联网,例如MTC、IoT、LTE‑M、M2M等。
