Abstract
本发明提供了一种可应用于调光器件的液晶组合物,所述液晶组合物包含:由一种或多种选自通式I的化合物组成的第一组分,由一种或多种选自通式II的化合物组成的第二组分;以及由一种或多种手性化合物组成的第三组分。本发明还提供了包含所述液晶组合物的调光器件。本发明公开的液晶组合物可以应用于双稳态的调光器件,所述液晶组合物具有较高的电学性能的稳定性,能够使调光器件在保持超高雾态雾度的同时具有显著降低的透过态雾度,并提升调光器件的电学性能的稳定性,从而提高调光器件的光学性能的稳定性。R1‑MG1‑X‑MG2‑R2 I
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及液晶领域,具体涉及液晶组合物及其调光器件。
背景技术
液晶基调光装置作为一种应用光电效应的装置,主要是由透明基材和液晶材料组成,其通过外加电场的方式调控液晶分子的排列状态,从而实现全透明与不透明之间的转换。由于此独特的调光特性,液晶基调光器件(如智能玻璃)被广泛应用于建筑、家居、汽车等行业,以用于实现调节光透过率、增加隐私性及阻隔紫外线或红外线等功能。其中,双稳态或多稳态的调光玻璃由于无需电场维持的特点又兼具节能安全性,因而具有更广阔的应用前景。
以胆甾相液晶为基础的双稳态调光玻璃一般具有两个零电场稳定的状态:透明的透过态和不透明的雾态。由于其透过态清澈度高、雾态雾度高、且无视角问题等特点,双稳态胆甾相液晶调光玻璃已成为一种具有市场潜力的调光玻璃。通常在此类调光玻璃中,胆甾相液晶呈周期性螺旋结构,但是这种结构受界面条件及外界环境的影响较大,在使用中经常因为外界环境(如长时间光照、温度变化、暴露在水汽中等)的影响,造成液晶材料的不稳定,从而导致液晶材料分子内部电子云分布异常,引起以液晶材料为基础的调光玻璃的电学性能的变化,最终造成调光玻璃的光学性能的整体均匀性变差,不仅影响产品外观,更易造成隐私的泄露,从而限制了调光玻璃的进一步应用。
因此,需要一种液晶组合物,由其制备的双稳态调光器件在保持雾态的高雾度和透过态的低雾度的同时,更能增加液晶组合物的稳定性,从而提高调光玻璃的电子性能的稳定性。
发明内容
发明目的:针对现有技术的缺陷,本发明的目的在于提供一种可以应用于调光器件的液晶组合物以及由此制备的调光器件,所述液晶组合物具有较高的电学性能的稳定性,能够应用于双稳态调光器件,使得调光器件在保持超高雾态雾度的同时具有显著降低的透过态雾度,并提升调光器件的电学性能的稳定性,从而提高调光器件的光学性能的稳定性。
本发明的技术方案:
为了实现上述发明目的,本发明的一个方面提供一种应用于调光器件的液晶组合物,所述液晶组合物包含:
第一组分,由一种或多种选自通式I的化合物组成
R1-MG1-X-MG2-R2 I;
第二组分,由一种或多种选自通式II的化合物组成
第三组分,由一种或多种手性化合物组成,
其中,
R1、R2、R3和R4各自独立地表示-H、-F、-Cl或者C原子数为1-25的链烷基,其中,所述C原子数为1-25的链烷基中的一个或多个H原子可以各自独立地被卤素取代,所述C原子数为1-25的链烷基中的一个或多个不相邻的-CH2-可以各自独立地被-O-、-CH=CH-、-CH=CF-或-CF=CF-替代;
MG1和MG2各自独立地表示介晶基元;
X为C原子数为3-40的直链或支链亚烷基基团,其中,所述C原子数为3-40的直链或支链亚烷基基团中的一个或多个-CH2-可以各自独立地被-O-、-CH(F)-、-CH(Cl)-或-CH=CH-替代,所述替代的方式不包含两个-O-彼此相邻或两个双键彼此相邻;
A1和A2各自独立地表示-CF2O-、-OCF2-、-CH2O-、-OCH2-、-CH=CH-、-CF2CF2-、-CF=CF-、-CH=CF-、单键或-(CH2)a-,其中a为2至10的偶数;
m是0、1或2,n是1、2或3,o是1或2,且m+n+o不大于5。
第二组分用以调整液晶组合物的整体性能,如液晶组合物的光学各向异性、工作温度范围、溶解度、弹性系数和粘滞系数等,所以其含量不宜太低。优选地,第二组分占液晶组合物的质量百分比大于40%,优选为40%-95%(不包括40%)。
手性化合物可以诱导向列相液晶螺旋扭曲,以形成手性向列相液晶(其相当于胆甾相液晶)。优选地,手性化合物选自由以下化合物组成的组:
在优选实施方案中,介晶基元各自独立地选自由通式III的介晶基元组成的组
其中,
H4、H5、H6和H7各自独立地表示环状结构,所述环状结构选自由 及其镜像结构组成的组,其中所述环状结构中的一个或多个H原子可以各自独立地被卤素或C原子数为1-7的链烷基取代,所述C原子数为1-7的链烷基中的一个或多个不相邻的-CH2-可以被-O-替代,所述C原子数为1-7的链烷基中的一个或多个H原子可以被-F或-Cl取代;
A3、A4和A5各自独立地表示-CF2O-、-OCF2-、-CH2O-、-OCH2-、-CH2CH2-、-CF2CF2-、-CH=CH-、-CF=CF-、-CH=CF-或单键;
p和q各自独立地表示0或1。
在优选实施方案中,介晶基元各自独立地包含至少2个六元环。
在优选实施方案中,介晶基元各自独立地选自由 及其镜像结构组成的组,其中六元环中1-4个H原子可以各自独立地被-F、-Cl或C原子数为1-7的链烷基取代,所述C原子数为1-7的链烷基中的一个或多个不相邻的-CH2-可以被-O-替代,所述C原子数为1-7的链烷基中的一个或多个H原子可以被-F取代。在更优选实施方案中,六元环中1-4个H原子可以各自独立地被-F、-Cl、-CH3或-OCH3取代。
在优选实施方案中,X为C原子数为5-25的直链或支链亚烷基基团,其中,C原子数为5-40的直链或支链亚烷基基团中的一个或多个-CH2-可以各自独立地被-O-、-CH(F)-、-CH(Cl)-或-CH=CH-替代,所述替代的方式不包含两个-O-彼此相邻或两个双键彼此相邻。在更优选实施方案中,X为C原子数为5-15的直链或支链亚烷基基团。
在优选实施方案中,X选自由通式IV的基团组成的组
其中,Y1和Y2各自独立地表示-O-或单键,s为3至13的奇数。
在优选实施方案中,R1和R2各自独立地表示-H、-F、-Cl、-OCF3、-OCHF2、-CF3、或未被取代的C原子数为1-10的直链烷基或直链烷氧基。在更优选实施方案中,R1和R2各自独立地表示-F、-Cl、-OCF3、或未被取代的C原子数为1-5的直链烷基或直链烷氧基。
在优选实施方案中,通式I的化合物选自由如下化合物组成的组:
在一些实施方案中,通式I的化合物进一步优选自由式I-2到式I-7的化合物组成的组。

本发明另一方面提供一种包含上述液晶组合物的调光器件,所述调光器件包含两个零电场稳定的状态:使入射光基本上透射的透过态,以及使入射光基本上散射的雾态,透过态和雾态之间的转换可通过施加外部电场实现。
在优选实施方案中,第一组分占液晶组合物总质量的1%-60%。在更优选实施方案中,第一组分占液晶组合物总质量的10%-50%。
有益效果:
本发明提供了一种可应用于调光器件的液晶组合物,所述液晶组合物通过采用通式I和通式II的化合物以及手性化合物可以应用于双稳态的调光器件,所述液晶组合物具有较高的电学性能的稳定性,能够使调光器件在保持超高雾态雾度的同时具有显著降低的透过态雾度,并提升调光器件的电学性能的稳定性,从而提高调光器件的光学性能的稳定性。

具体实施方式
在以下的描述中,为了达到解释说明的目的以对本发明具有全面的认识,因此阐述了大量的具体细节。然而,对本领域技术人员而言,无需这些具体细节显然也可以实现本发明。所举的说明性的示例实施方案仅为了说明,并不对本发明造成限制。因此,本发明的保护范围并不受下列具体实施方案的限制,仅以所附的权利要求书的范围为准。
在以下的实施例中所采用的各成分,均可以通过公知的方法进行合成,或者通过商业途径获得。这些合成技术是常规的,所得到各液晶化合物经测试符合电子类化合物标准。
按照以下实施例规定的各液晶组合物的配比,制备液晶组合物。液晶组合物的制备是按照本领域的常规方法进行的。先按照相应的质量百分比称量各组分化合物并且混合成液晶组合物,将液晶组合物放置于玻璃样品瓶中,加入磁力搅拌子,置于加热磁力搅拌器上,加热搅拌至样品瓶中的液晶组合物完全熔解,形成各向同性的透明溶液。此时的温度已达到液晶组合物的清亮点。若液晶组合物中包含对光敏感的可聚合单体,则根据相应的质量百分比继续称量可聚合单体,加入磁力搅拌子,密封后,避光加热至液晶组合物的清亮点。维持此温度,继续加热搅拌30分钟,以确保样品混合均匀。停止加热,继续搅拌2小时。为了确保液晶组合物充分而稳定的混溶,且在合适的温度范围内具有液晶态,液晶组合物中第二组分占液晶组合物的质量百分比需大于40%,优选为40%-95%(不包括40%)。
然后将混合均匀的液晶组合物通过真空法灌注到按照各种设计要求制作的空液晶盒中,UV胶封口固化后,制成调光器件。调光器件具有两个稳定状态:透过态和雾态。在透过态时,手性向列相液晶(即胆甾相液晶)分子基本上平行于器件基板,其螺旋轴与器件基板相垂直,形成胆甾相液晶的平面态织构。在此状态下,入射光基本上不受影响地透射而通过调光器件。在雾态时,胆甾相液晶分子形成焦锥态织构,此时入射光基本上被散射,形成雾度较大的状态。通过选取适合的驱动电压,可使调光器件在透过态和雾态之间转变,这两个状态的雾度使用WGT-S型雾度仪测量,从而测定其光学性能。
调光器件的结构如图1所示,包括第一透明基板101和第二透明基板102,其材质可分别为透明玻璃或透明聚合物材料(如PET、PEN、PC、PP、PMMA、PBT、PVC、PI、纤维素等)。然而,本发明不限于此,亦可采用透过率符合要求的其他材料。液晶层103设置在第一透明基板101和第二透明基板102之间,液晶层103包含液晶组合物。在第一透明基板101和液晶层103之间及第二透明基板102和液晶层103之间分别设置有第一透明电极104和第二透明电极105,透明电极按导电材料分类可以为碳系导电薄膜、金属纳米线导电薄膜、金属氧化物导电薄膜等。在本发明的实施方案中,第一透明电极104和第二透明电极105均采用ITO镀层。液晶层103的厚度为5~60微米。
如图2所示,第一透明电极104和液晶层103之间可以包括第一配向层106。配向层106用于给液晶层103中的液晶分子进行配向,使液晶分子按照预设的模式进行排列。在一些实施方案中,如图3所示,在第二透明电极105和液晶103之间进一步包括第二配向层107。根据预倾角(即液晶分子在配向层表面有序排列时,分子长轴方向与配向层表面所形成的夹角)的不同,第一配向层106和/或第二配向层107可为基本平面取向型,即配向层表面的液晶分子长轴基本上平行于配向层表面,如IPS、TN、STN型;也可为基本垂直取向型,即液晶分子长轴基本上垂直于配向层表面,如VA型。
液晶材料在外界环境(如长时间UV光照、极端温度变化、接触水气或尘埃等)的影响下易分解并释放离子,过多的离子电荷会降低液晶材料的电压保持率(VHR)和电阻率,从而影响液晶材料的电子性能。同时,过多的离子电荷堆积在液晶层和配向层的接触面,使液晶分子实际接受到的有效电压随着离子电荷的累积而降低,使液晶分子在电压切换的瞬间无法变化旋转,从而影响包含有液晶材料的调光器件光学性能的稳定性和均一性。在本发明的实施方案中,液晶组合物的电学稳定性通过测量液晶组合物的电阻率降幅来体现,分别测试液晶组合物在初始状态、UV照射(波长:365nm,强度:85mW/cm2,时间:1小时)后以及热处理(150℃烘烤1小时)后的电阻率,测试仪器为美国INSTEC的ALCT-HR1电阻仪。
下面将结合具体实施例,对液晶组合物的成分、包含液晶组合物的调光器件的光学性能以及液晶组合物电学性能的稳定性进行详细说明。在以下实施例中,第一透明基板101和第二透明基板102均为透明玻璃,而第一透明电极104和第二透明电极105均为ITO镀层。配向层为双层,类型均为VA型。
为便于表达,以下各实施例中,液晶组合物的基团结构用表1所列的代码表示,作为第三组分的手性化合物的代码和结构也在表2中列出。液晶组合物的比例都采用质量百分比。

通过以上实施例1-7和对比例1可知,由本发明的液晶组合物制成的调光器件明显具有较低的透过态雾度,同时具有超高的雾态雾度,从而在提供高透光率的同时还可提供足够的隐私隔离性。同时,经UV照射后或热处理后,实施例1-7中液晶组合物的电阻率降幅明显小于对比例1中常用胆甾型液晶组合物的电阻率降幅,表明实施例1-7中液晶组合物电学性能的稳定性得到了提升。
尽管已经在上面以细节描述了数个示例性实施方案,但是所公开的实施方案仅是示例性而非限制性的,并且本领域技术人员将容易意识到,在示例性实施方案中很多其他修改、改动和/或替换是可能的,而不实质偏离本公开的新颖性教导和优点。因此,所有这些修改、改动和/或替换意图被包括在如所附权利要求书所限定的本公开的范围内。
Claims (10)
1.一种应用于调光器件的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述液晶组合物包含:
第一组分,由一种或多种选自通式I的化合物组成
R1-MG1-X-MG2-R2 I;
第二组分,由一种或多种选自通式II的化合物组成
第三组分,由一种或多种手性化合物组成,
其中,
R1、R2、R3和R4各自独立地表示-H、-F、-Cl或者C原子数为1-25的链烷基,其中,所述C原子数为1-25的链烷基中的一个或多个H原子可以各自独立地被卤素取代,所述C原子数为1-25的链烷基中的一个或多个不相邻的-CH2-可以各自独立地被-O-、-CH=CH-、-CH=CF-或-CF=CF-替代;
MG1和MG2各自独立地表示介晶基元;
X为C原子数为3-40的直链或支链亚烷基基团,其中,所述C原子数为3-40的直链或支链亚烷基基团中的一个或多个-CH2-可以各自独立地被-O-、-CH(F)-、-CH(Cl)-或-CH=CH-替代,所述替代的方式不包含两个-O-彼此相邻或两个双键彼此相邻;

4.如权利要求3所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述介晶基元各自独立地包含至少2个六元环。
7.如权利要求1或2所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,R1和R2各自独立地表示-H、-F、-Cl、-OCF3、-OCHF2、-CF3、或未被取代的C原子数为1-10的直链烷基或直链烷氧基。
9.一种包含如权利要求1-8中任一项所述的液晶组合物的调光器件,其特征在于,所述调光器件包含两个零电场稳定的状态:使入射光基本上透射的透过态,以及使入射光基本上散射的雾态。
10.如权利要求9所述的调光器件,其特征在于,其中所述第一组分占所述液晶组合物总质量的1%-60%。
