The power supply monitoring method provided by the application can be applied to an application environment shown in fig. 1. Wherein the BMC101 communicates with a power supply 102. Wherein, the corresponding status register, input type register, rated output power consumption register, rated input register, etc. can be set for the power supply 102, in this embodiment, the BMC obtains the in-place or out-of-place status of the power supply through the status register of the power supply; the BMC obtains whether the power supply is direct current input or alternating current input through an input type register; the BMC obtains rated power parameters of the power supply through the rated output power consumption register and the rated input register, which is not limited in this embodiment.
The following will specifically describe the technical solutions of the present application and how the technical solutions of the present application solve the above technical problems by means of examples and with reference to the accompanying drawings. The following embodiments may be combined with each other, and the same or similar concepts or processes may not be described in detail in some embodiments. It should be noted that, in the power monitoring method provided in the embodiments of fig. 2 to 10 of the present application, the execution body is a BMC, and the power monitoring device may also be a power monitoring device, where the power monitoring device may be a part or all of the BMC through software, hardware, or a combination of software and hardware. In the following method embodiments, the execution subject is a BMC.
In one embodiment, as shown in fig. 2, a power monitoring method is provided, which relates to a process of reading rated power parameters of a power supply in a target device, determining a type of the power supply based on the rated power parameters of the power supply, determining an operation parameter threshold of the power supply according to the type of the power supply, and determining whether to output abnormal power supply alarm information according to a comparison result of an actual operation parameter and the operation parameter threshold of the power supply in the process of operating the power supply, and comprises the following steps:
s201, reading rated power supply parameters of a power supply in the target equipment, and determining the type of the power supply based on the rated power supply parameters of the power supply.
The target device refers to a device where a current power supply is located, and the device is any kind of computer device with a built-in power supply and a baseboard management controller. The rated power supply parameters of the power supply include a rated input voltage, a rated output power consumption, or other rated parameters. The type of the power supply refers to power supplies of different types delivered by different manufacturers, and the power supplies of different types correspond to different rated input voltages, rated output power consumption or other rated parameters.
In this embodiment, the BMC reads the rated power supply parameter of the power supply, alternatively, the BMC may read the corresponding rated power supply parameter from the corresponding rated power supply parameter register, for example, the BMC reads the corresponding rated output power consumption through the rated output power consumption register of the power supply, obtains the rated input voltage of the power supply through the rated input register, and reads other rated parameters of the corresponding power supply through other custom registers. After the BMC reads the rated power supply parameters of the current power supply, the power supply type corresponding to the rated power supply parameters can be queried from a database of the BMC, and the power supply type of the current power supply is determined; or after the BMC reads the rated power supply parameter, the BMC may further perform data analysis on the rated power supply parameter to determine the power supply type of the current power supply, which is not limited in this embodiment.
S202, determining an operation parameter threshold of the power supply according to the type of the power supply.
The operating parameter threshold of the power supply refers to a threshold corresponding to the operating parameter of the power supply, wherein the operating parameter of the power supply includes parameters such as temperature, voltage, power consumption, and the like, and the threshold includes a plurality of values, for example, a high unrecoverable value, a high serious value, a high non-serious value, a low unrecoverable value, and the like of each parameter. The high unrecoverable value indicates a value causing an unrecoverable condition of the power supply, the high serious value indicates a value exceeding the rated value of the power supply and easily causing an abnormality of the power supply, and the high non-serious value indicates a value exceeding the rated value of the power supply but not causing an abnormality of the power supply, and the severity thereof is that the high unrecoverable value is greater than the high serious value, the high serious value is greater than the high non-serious value, and three values of the lower position are similar to three values of the upper position, and are not repeated herein.
In this embodiment, after determining the type of the power supply, the BMC may query, according to the type of the power supply, an operation parameter threshold set corresponding to the type of the power supply from its own database; or after determining the type of the power supply, the BMC may determine the operating parameter threshold corresponding to the current power supply according to the type of the power supply and the corresponding relationship between the type of the power supply and the operating parameter threshold, or alternatively, the BMC may store the determined operating parameter threshold of the current power supply in the corresponding first storage space, which is not limited in this embodiment.
S203, acquiring actual operation parameters of the power supply in the power supply operation process.
In this embodiment, after the BMC determines the operation parameter threshold of the current power supply, it monitors whether the power supply is in an operation state, that is, whether each operation parameter starts to change, and when detecting that each operation parameter starts to change, the BMC may acquire the actual operation parameter of the current power supply according to a preset monitoring period; for example, the BMC may obtain actual parameters such as an actual temperature, an actual voltage, and an actual power consumption of the power supply every 2 seconds, and store the obtained actual operation parameters in the corresponding second storage space in real time, which is not limited in this embodiment.
S204, determining whether to output power supply abnormality warning information according to a comparison result of the actual operation parameter and the operation parameter threshold of the power supply.
The BMC can acquire an operation parameter threshold value of the current power supply from the first storage space, acquire an actual operation parameter of the current power supply from the second storage space, compare the actual operation parameter with the operation parameter threshold value, and determine whether an abnormal condition occurs in the operation state of the power supply. Alternatively, as described in the above examples, the operation parameter threshold may include a plurality of thresholds, for example, the operation parameter threshold includes a high unrecoverable value, a high serious value, a high non-serious value, a low unrecoverable value, and the like, and the BMC may determine the operation state of the current power supply by performing polling comparison between the actual operation participation and each threshold according to the severity, which is not limited in the present embodiment.
In the power monitoring method, the BMC reads rated power supply parameters of the power supply in the target equipment, determines the type of the power supply based on the rated power supply parameters of the power supply, determines an operation parameter threshold of the power supply according to the type of the power supply, acquires actual operation parameters of the power supply in the process of power supply operation, and determines whether to output power supply abnormality warning information according to a comparison result of the actual operation parameters and the operation parameter threshold of the power supply. In the method, the BMC can determine the model of the power supply according to the rated power supply parameters of the power supply, so that the related operation parameter threshold of the current power supply is determined according to the model of the power supply, the accuracy of monitoring the power supply parameters is improved in a self-adaptive mode of matching the operation parameter threshold of the power supply, and the power supplies of different models are subjected to parameter monitoring without replacing the BMC, so that the self-adaptive monitoring of the power supplies of different models can be realized, the universality and the compatibility of BMC firmware are greatly improved, and the development cost of the BMC firmware and the time cost of after-sales operation and maintenance personnel are reduced.
In the prior art, for each operation parameter of the power supply, data is generally read through a data processing rule or a data processing method, if there are multiple operation parameters with large orders of magnitude difference, the same data processing method is used to cause distortion of data precision in the process of reading the operation parameters, for this case, in the process of reading each operation parameter, the BMC in this embodiment performs data processing according to the corresponding irrecoverable mode of each operation parameter, so as to preserve the data precision of each operation parameter, and in one embodiment, as shown in fig. 3, the above-mentioned obtaining the actual operation parameter of the power supply includes:
S301, for each operation parameter of the power supply, reading an intermediate operation parameter from a register corresponding to the power supply, wherein the intermediate operation parameter is obtained by performing precision processing on the measured initial operation parameter of the power supply according to an unrecoverable value corresponding to the operation parameter, and storing the initial operation parameter into the register, wherein the unrecoverable value is an operation parameter threshold value which causes irreversible damage to the power supply.
The intermediate operation parameters refer to operation parameters stored in the registers, the intermediate operation parameters are obtained by performing precision processing according to initial operation parameters, the initial operation parameters refer to operation parameters of a power supply directly acquired by the BMC, and when the BMC acquires the operation parameters of the power supply, the operation parameters need to be stored in the corresponding registers so as to read the corresponding operation parameters according to a reading instruction. In this embodiment, the BMC may receive a read instruction of an operation parameter, and aggregate the corresponding operation parameter according to the read instruction, and determine the corresponding intermediate operation parameter, so as to obtain the intermediate operation parameter from the register.
S302, converting the intermediate operation parameters based on the unrecoverable value to obtain actual operation parameters.
In this embodiment, the BMC performs data reverse processing on the intermediate operation parameter according to the unrecoverable value corresponding to the current intermediate operation parameter to obtain an actual operation parameter after data processing, or alternatively, the BMC may receive a read instruction of the operation parameter, so as to perform conversion processing on the corresponding intermediate operation parameter according to the read instruction, and further use the converted data as the actual operation parameter and respond to the read instruction.
In this embodiment, the BMC obtains the intermediate operation parameter from the register, and performs data reverse processing on the intermediate operation parameter according to the preset data processing manner and the corresponding unrecoverable value thereof, so that the data accuracy of the data read from the register can be ensured to a certain extent.
In the process of storing the initial operation parameters into the register, because the initial operation parameters are too large, data precision processing needs to be performed on the initial operation parameters, in the prior art, for each operation parameter of the power supply, data is generally stored through a data processing rule or a data processing method, if multiple operation parameters with large order of magnitude difference exist, during the process of storing the operation parameters, the same data processing method can cause distortion of data precision, and for this case, in the process of storing each operation parameter, the BMC in this embodiment performs data processing according to the corresponding irrecoverable mode of each operation parameter, so as to preserve the data precision of the operation parameter, and in one embodiment, as shown in fig. 4, the process of the precision processing includes:
s401, calculating the precision processing intermediate parameters according to the unrecoverable value and the size of the storage space of the register.
In this embodiment, the BMC obtains the corresponding unrecoverable value according to each operation parameter, calculates the intermediate variable according to the determined unrecoverable value and the size of the storage space of the register, and for example, the unrecoverable value may be a high unrecoverable value, and the intermediate parameter M may be calculated in the following manner:
Figure BDA0002725795250000101
wherein, max is a high unrecoverable value, 255 is the maximum length of the storage space of the register.
S402, performing binary conversion processing on the initial operation parameters according to the precision processing intermediate parameters to obtain intermediate operation parameters.
In this embodiment, the BMC performs calculation processing on the initial operation parameter according to the intermediate parameter obtained by the calculation, to obtain an intermediate operation parameter Storage, where the calculation mode may be:
Figure BDA0002725795250000102
wherein input is an initial operation parameter, and M is an intermediate parameter.
In this embodiment, the BMC may calculate, according to the unrecoverable value corresponding to each operation parameter, the precision processing intermediate parameter corresponding to each operation parameter, and implement data conversion of the actual operation parameter, so that each operation parameter maintains the maximum precision in the storage process, and reduces the distortion rate when each operation parameter is stored.
Accordingly, the BMC performs data precision processing on the initial operation parameter when storing the initial operation parameter, and needs to perform inverse processing when reading the operation parameter, and in one embodiment, as shown in fig. 5, the converting processing is performed on the intermediate operation parameter based on the unrecoverable value, to obtain an actual operation parameter, which includes:
S501, calculating an accuracy processing intermediate parameter according to the unrecoverable value and the size of the storage space of the register.
In this embodiment, similarly to the embodiment provided in the step S401, by way of example, taking a high unrecoverable value as an example, the intermediate parameter M may be calculated in the following manner:
Figure BDA0002725795250000103
wherein, max is a high unrecoverable value, 255 is the maximum length of the storage space of the register.
S502, performing decimal conversion processing on the intermediate operation parameters according to the precision processing intermediate parameters to obtain actual operation parameters.
In this embodiment, the BMC performs data reverse processing according to the calculated intermediate parameter M and the read intermediate operating parameter Storage to obtain an actual operating parameter output, where the calculation mode may be:
output=Storage*M
in this embodiment, the BMC may calculate the precision processing intermediate parameter corresponding to each operation parameter according to the unrecoverable value corresponding to each operation parameter, and implement data conversion of the actual operation parameter, so that each operation parameter maintains the maximum precision in the reading process, and reduces the distortion rate when each operation parameter is read.
During operation of the power supply, or each time the power supply enters an operation state, the BMC needs to confirm the threshold value and the type of the current power supply, and in one embodiment, before reading the rated power supply parameters of the power supply in the target device, as shown in fig. 6, the method further includes:
S601, monitoring the power supply working state of the target equipment.
In this embodiment, the BMC may detect the working state of the power supply in the target device in real time. Optionally, the power operating state includes at least one of a power running state and a power input state.
The power supply operation state comprises a power supply in-place state and a power supply out-of-place state, and the power supply input state comprises a direct current input state and an alternating current input state. In this embodiment, the BMC may obtain the running state of the power supply through the status register of the power supply, for example; the BMC obtains the power input state of the power supply through the input type register.
Correspondingly, reading target rated power supply parameters of a power supply in the target equipment, including:
s602, if the power supply working state of the target equipment changes, the rated power supply parameters of the power supply in the target equipment are read.
In this embodiment, if the BMC monitors that the running state of the power supply is changed from in-place to out-of-place, or from out-of-place to in-place, or that the power supply has hot plug, at this time, the BMC does not determine whether the current power supply is the power supply before the state change, and then needs to re-read the rated power supply parameter of the current power supply, and then determines the type of the current power supply and the running parameter threshold value again; similarly, if the BMC monitors that the input state of the power supply changes from ac to dc or from dc to ac, in order to ensure accuracy of the monitored data, the BMC still needs to re-read the rated power supply parameter of the current power supply, and determine the type of the current power supply and the operating parameter threshold again, which is not limited in this implementation.
In this embodiment, the BMC monitors that the working state of the power supply changes, which means that the current power supply may be replaced or other situations occur, so that in order to ensure the accuracy of the monitoring result, the BMC needs to determine the type and the threshold value of the current power supply again, thereby improving the accuracy of monitoring the operating parameters of the power supply.
Optionally, when determining the type of the power supply according to the rated power supply parameter of the power supply, the BMC may determine the type of the power supply according to a preset correspondence relationship, and in one embodiment, as shown in fig. 7, the power supply monitoring method is used in the BMC, and the determining the type of the power supply based on the rated power supply parameter of the power supply includes:
s701, inquiring a power supply type database preset in the BMC based on rated power supply parameters of a power supply, wherein the power supply type database stores a plurality of corresponding relations between the rated power supply parameters and the power supply types.
In this embodiment, according to expert experience, the correspondence between different power types and their corresponding rated power parameters may be set in a power type database built in the BMC, so after the BMC monitors the current power, the BMC reads the rated power parameters corresponding to the current power from the corresponding registers of the power, and queries, according to the rated power parameters, the rated power parameters consistent with the obtained rated power parameters from the power type database, where the query mode may be polling, which is not limited in this embodiment.
S702, determining the type of the power supply according to the query result.
In this embodiment, the rated power supply parameters consistent with the obtained rated power supply parameters are queried from the power supply type database, and the power supply type of the current power supply is determined according to the power supply type corresponding to the queried rated power supply parameters, which is not limited in this embodiment.
In this embodiment, the BMC may adaptively determine the power type according to a preset power type database and a rated power parameter of the current power, so that the BMC performs corresponding monitoring on the power type, thereby improving accuracy of power monitoring.
