The application may be a game, an application, or some other application associated with a computer system or other device that may be run on the smart television. The application center may obtain these applications from different sources, store them in local storage, and then be executable on the display device 200.
The live channel program information includes Electronic Program Guide (EPG), forward-EPG (Forward EPG) and Backward-EPG (Backward EPG). Forward-EPG information is extracted from a code stream of a live channel and represents program information scheduled to be played by each channel on display equipment in a period of time in the future; the background-EPG information represents program information which is played on each channel on the display device within a period of time and is reversely pushed from the current time point, and the information is generally required to be acquired from a cloud server providing data service; whether Forward-EPG information or Backward-EPG information includes the program name, genre, belonging channel, playing time period and other basic information, and particularly, if the Backward-EPG information is to be viewed, a corresponding browser or a third-party application needs to be started to implement the viewing.
In many countries and regions, a display device has a PVR (Personal Video Record) function, which can help a user to Record a program that the user is interested in into a storage medium such as a hard disk built in the display device or an external hard disk/U disk. After the recording is finished, the recorded video can be selected to be played and watched in the display device at any time. This PVR function is a relatively conventional function in current display devices.
However, when playing a video recorded by a user, the current display device only plays video content, and if the user wants to know other content related to the video content, the user cannot find related recommendations or find other content entries from the current display screen, which causes the current display device to have certain limitations when playing the recorded video, and is difficult to meet the user experience requirements.
Based on the above content, the embodiment of the application provides a program recommendation method, a display device and a server, the display device can obtain some recommended content of the currently played pre-stored video from the server, when a user watches the pre-stored video, the user can see some other recommended content on the display device, and the recommended content provides more watching choices for the user.
In this embodiment, the display device 200 may be an intelligent device with a program playing function, such as an intelligent television. The pre-stored video is a video obtained by recording a program being played in the smart television, where the program being played may be a program played on a specific television channel or live broadcast, or a program played in third-party application software in the smart television, for example, a tv play being played in certain video playing software.
Fig. 6 is a schematic diagram illustrating an interaction between the display device 200 and the server 400 according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in fig. 6, in this embodiment of the application, the main process of the display device 200 interacting with the server 400 includes: when the user wants to play the pre-stored video, the display device 200 requests the server 400 for the recommended content associated with the pre-stored video, the server 400 sends the recommended content back to the display device 200 after matching the recommended content according to the video information of the pre-stored video, and the display device 200 displays the recommended content on the screen together with the pre-stored video.
In the solution of the embodiment of the present application, a display device 200 and a server 400 are provided, where the display device 200 and the server 400 are respectively provided with a controller, and the respective controllers respectively complete respective processing flows.
A display 275 is also provided in the display device 200, and the display 275 is used to display the program content broadcast by each tv channel or channel in the application software.
If the user wants to watch a live game on a certain channel of the display device 200 but there is no time, in this case, the user can record the live game using the PVR function of the display device 200 to generate a pre-stored video for watching on the fly.
It should be noted that the channels mentioned in the embodiments of the present application do not only refer to the channels of the television programs displayed during actual viewing, but different application software may also be regarded as providing different channels of the programs.
After the pre-stored video is stored in the display device 200, the user can watch the pre-stored video at any time, and while watching the pre-stored video, in order to give more recommendations and selections to the user, the controller in the display device 200 may send video information corresponding to the pre-stored video to the server 400 in response to a pre-stored video playing request of the user.
Wherein, the pre-stored video is used to represent the recorded video of the program stored in the display device 200; the video information is used for representing the program type corresponding to the pre-stored video and the channel information of the program.
The type of the program of the pre-stored video is the type of the program currently played when the pre-stored video is recorded, for example, the display device 200 currently plays a movie "XXX", so the type of the program may be a love movie, a domestic movie, an action movie, and the like, and the channel to which the program belongs may be a movie channel, and the like.
The channel information specifically includes an identification of the channel, a name of the channel, a genre of the channel, and the like. The channel information of a channel only contains the unique identification of the channel for representing the uniqueness of the channel, and also contains the specific name of the channel and the type of the channel. Generally, at least one channel type may be included in one channel information, for example, a certain channel may belong to an entertainment channel, a movie channel, or the like.
After the server 400 receives the video information, the recommended content associated with the pre-stored video matched in the server 400 by the controller in the server 400 according to the video information is sent back to the display apparatus 200.
After the controller of the display apparatus 200 receives the recommended content, the recommended content is presented on the display 275 while the display apparatus 200 plays the pre-stored video, so that the user can view and make a selection of the recommended content.
In some embodiments, the process of recording the pre-stored video by the display device 200 may also be controlled by a controller, where the controller is specifically configured to perform: recording the program content currently played by the display device 200 in response to a video recording request of a user; the recorded content is stored in the display device 200 as a pre-stored video, and the program type of the currently played program and the channel information of the channel to which the program belongs are correspondingly stored.
Generally, when a user needs to use the PVR function, the user sends an instruction to the display device 200, and the instruction may be sent by operating the display device 200 by the user, and specifically, the display device 200 may have a video recording function key for implementing the PVR function, and the user may send a video recording request by clicking the video recording function key.
The recorded pre-stored video may be stored in a database or video file of the display apparatus 200, and may be found from the database or video file if the user wants to watch the pre-stored video.
In addition, after the pre-stored video is recorded, the program type corresponding to the pre-stored video and the channel information of the channel to which the program belongs need to be correspondingly stored in a database or a video file.
Fig. 7 is a schematic diagram illustrating a display device 200 displaying recommended content according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in fig. 7, in some embodiments, the display apparatus 200 may sequentially display a reduced image of recommended content below the display screen while playing a pre-stored video.
In some embodiments, the recommended content sent back by the server 400 may include both the recommended channel and the recommended program. However, not all recommended channels may be played by the display apparatus 200, for example, the display apparatus 200 is currently located in city a of province a, but the recommended channels include a local channel of city B of province B, which is not playable by the display apparatus 200 of city a of province a.
Therefore, in some embodiments, when the recommended content includes the recommended channel, in the display device 200, the controller further needs to filter out channels that cannot be currently played, and display the remaining channels on the display 275 together as the selectable channel and the recommended program, as shown in fig. 8, where fig. 8 is a schematic diagram of displaying the recommended content by the second display device 200 shown in this embodiment of the present application.
The user may simultaneously view the selectable channel and the recommended program associated with the currently playing pre-stored video, and the controller may also control the display 275 to display the program content corresponding to a selectable channel in the case that the user selects to view the selectable channel; or control the display 275 to display the content of a recommended program when the user selects to view the recommended program.
In some embodiments, the recommended content sent back by the server 400 may only include recommended programs, and at this time, in the display device 200, the controller only needs to sequentially display the recommended programs on the display 275, as shown in fig. 9, where fig. 9 is a schematic diagram of the third display device 200 shown in this embodiment of the present application displaying the recommended content.
However, recommended programs sometimes differ from recommended channels, which may require the display device 200 to be networked for viewing over a network. Therefore, in some embodiments, no matter whether the recommended content includes a recommended channel, in the display device 200, as long as the user selects to watch the recommended program, the controller needs to detect whether the display device 200 is currently networked, and only under the networking condition, the controller will select the corresponding application software to play the recommended program according to the play source information of the recommended program; if the display device 200 is not networked, the user needs to be prompted to perform networking operations on the display device 200.
Of course, if the recommended channel indicates a specific application software, when the user selects such recommended channel, the controller may also detect whether the display device 200 is currently networked, and only under the networking condition, the controller may use the corresponding application software, or when the user is not networked, the controller opens the application software and then displays a prompt such as "no network connection".
In general, when the server 400 sends back the recommended programs and recommended channels to the display device 200, it also sends back information of the respective recommended programs and recommended channels at the same time. The program information of the recommended program mainly includes the identification, name, genre, and the affiliated broadcasting source of the program. Wherein, a program information may also include a plurality of program types, that is, one program may correspond to a plurality of types, for example, one program "XX" may correspond to a variety type, and may also correspond to an entertainment type, etc. The play source to which the recommended program belongs refers to which application software the recommended program is provided by, and the application software may be that the display apparatus 200 already exists or is downloaded, or may be that the display apparatus 200 is not currently installed. If the broadcast source exists on the display device 200, the corresponding application software can be directly selected to broadcast the recommended program, and if the broadcast source does not exist on the display device 200, a browser is required to open a web page to broadcast the recommended program through the corresponding application program on the web page.
In some embodiments, in order to provide richer recommended content to the user, the display device 200 may also display a channel to which an original program corresponding to the currently played pre-stored video belongs while displaying the recommended content. Fig. 10 is a schematic diagram illustrating that the fourth display device 200 displays recommended content according to the embodiment of the present application, and as shown in fig. 10, an option button of "view channel" is further provided above the reduced image that displays each recommended content, and if the channel to which the original program belongs is the channel a, the user clicks the option button, and then the controller may directly control the display 275 to display the content being played in the channel a.
In the server 400 provided in the embodiment of the present application, after receiving video information corresponding to a pre-stored video sent by the display device 200, the controller matches recommended content associated with the pre-stored video according to the video information, and then sends the recommended content to the display device 200.
In some embodiments, the controller in the server 400 needs to acquire different types of alternative channels associated with the channel to which the pre-stored video belongs according to the channel information in the video information. Since one channel information includes at least one channel type, a plurality of types corresponding to the channel to which the pre-stored video belongs can be acquired according to the channel information. For example, the channel to which the pre-stored video belongs is the channel a, and the type corresponding to the channel a is the movie and the movie, and at this time, all channels belonging to the movie type and the movie type can be used as the alternative channels.
A channel may contain at least one genre of program, for example, a genre of movie may include a love movie, a domestic movie, a comedy movie, an action movie, and the like. In the server 400, the controller further needs to acquire different types of programs in each alternative channel as programs to be recommended, where the program type of the program to be recommended is the type to be recommended.
After the program to be recommended is obtained, in the server 400, the controller matches the program type in the video information with the type to be recommended to obtain a recommended program associated with the pre-stored video. For example, if the type of the program of the pre-stored video is a love movie, then the type to be recommended may be combined to match the corresponding love movies from the domestic movie, the comedy movie, and the action movie, respectively, so as to obtain at least one domestic love movie program, comedy love movie program, and/or action love movie program.
In some embodiments, since the server 400 has a wide range of matching resources, the number of matched recommended programs should be many, but the recommended content that can be displayed on the display device 200 is limited, in order to screen the most representative recommended programs from a large number of matching results, in the server 400, the controller further needs to screen the recommended programs according to a preset screening manner, where the preset screening manner may be to sort the recommended programs according to the popularity, click rate, freshness, number of purchased times, and the like of the recommended programs, and screen the top few recommended programs in the sequence as the final recommended programs.
In addition, in the server 400, the controller needs to determine, according to the channels to which the filtered recommended programs belong, recommended channels associated with the pre-stored video, for example, two filtered recommended programs are provided, the channel to which the recommended program 1 belongs is a, B, and C, the channel to which the recommended program 2 belongs is channels B, D, and E, and in combination with the channels to which the recommended program 1 and the recommended program 2 belong, it can be found that the two programs can belong to the channel B at the same time, and then the channel B can be used as the recommended channel at this time.
The controller finally sends the filtered recommended programs and recommended channels to the display device 200.
In some embodiments, if the recommended program 1 and the recommended program 2 do not have a channel commonly owned to them, the server 400 may not transmit the recommended channel to the display apparatus 200. Alternatively, the display apparatus 200 does not require the server 400 to recommend an associated channel thereto, and the server 400 may not transmit the recommended channel to the display apparatus 200.
In practical applications, there are many specific recommendation manners for screening recommended programs and determining recommended channels in the embodiments of the present application, and the methods are not limited to the above manners.
Fig. 11 is another interaction diagram between a display device 200 and a server 400 according to an embodiment of the present application, where an interaction process in fig. 11 mainly includes processes of recording a program, storing information, determining recommended content and user selection, and displaying the recommended content in the display device 200, and a process of matching the recommended content in the server 400.
As can be seen from the above contents, in the embodiment of the present application, in the communication process between the display device 200 and the server 400, when the user watches the pre-stored video, some recommended contents related to the preset video can be seen on the display device 200, and the recommended contents provide more watching choices for the user.
In addition, the technical scheme of the application utilizes the characteristics that the PVR file has the program type and the attribution channel, and the recommended content is calculated or matched at the server 400.
Fig. 12 is a flowchart of a program recommendation method shown in this embodiment of the application, where the method is applied to the display device 200, and specifically includes the following steps:
step S101, in response to a pre-stored video playing request of a user, sending video information corresponding to a pre-stored video to the server 400. Wherein, the pre-stored video is used to represent the recorded video of the program stored in the display device 200; the video information is used for representing the program type corresponding to the pre-stored video and the channel information of the program.
In step S102, the recommended content transmitted by the server 400 is received. Wherein, the recommended content is used for representing the content matched by the server 400 according to the video information and associated with the pre-stored video.
