In the prior art, a System-on Chip of a motherboard supplies power to a display panel in a System Boot (Boot) stage, and polls a state of a short-circuit Detection (which may also be denoted as Error _ DET or Error _ Detect) pin at regular intervals in a thread at a Kernel (Kernel) stage, referring to fig. 1, which is a schematic diagram of short-circuit Detection of a display panel in the prior art, a System-on Chip (SOC) Chip of the motherboard supplies power to a logic control power supply pin (VDD) of the display panel at a time t1, supplies power to a display drive power supply pin (EVDD) of the display panel at a time t2, polls the Error _ Detect pin for the first time in the Kernel stage at a time t3, a time interval greater than 1 second exists between t2 and t3, and if the Error _ Detect pin is wrong in a short time after the EVDD is powered on in the Kernel stage, the Error _ Detect pin is only able to enter the Kernel stage and then find that the Error _ Detect pin is abnormal, therefore, the power failure of the display panel cannot be timely caused, and the display panel is easily burnt.
In view of the above problems, the short circuit detection device for a display panel according to the present invention can comprehensively monitor whether a short circuit exists in the display panel.
The short circuit detection device of the display panel provided by the invention is explained by several specific embodiments.
The short circuit detection device of the display panel in the scheme can be applied to any terminal equipment with a display screen, such as a mobile phone, a flat panel, a television, a personal computer, a notebook, a wearable device and the like, and can also be applied to industrial equipment, medical equipment and the like.
Fig. 2 is a schematic structural diagram of an embodiment of a short circuit detection device for a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 2, the short circuit detection device for a display panel includes: the main board 01 is connected with the display panel 02, specifically, the main board is connected with at least a display driving power supply pin P1 and a short-circuit Detection pin P2 of the display panel, in some embodiments, the main board is further connected with a logic Control power supply pin P3 of the display panel, specifically, a first output pin a1 of an SOC chip of the main board is connected with an EVDD P1 on a screen driving (Time Control, TCON) board of the display panel, an input pin A3 of the SOC is connected with an Error _ Detection P3 pin, and in some embodiments, a second output pin a2 of the SOC is further connected with a VDD P2. The mainboard supplies power to the display panel through a display drive power supply pin P1 and a logic control power supply pin P3, the display panel receives power supply voltage provided by the mainboard through a display drive power supply pin P1 to control the display panel to light, whether the display panel has a short circuit is detected through a short circuit Detection pin P2, the voltage state of the short circuit Detection pin is used for indicating whether the short circuit Detection pin P2 has an abnormality, the voltage state comprises a first voltage state and/or a second voltage state, generally speaking, an Error _ Detection pin P2 is a pin of the display panel, and when the display panel has a short circuit, an Error _ Detection pin P2 is at a high level.
Optionally, the first output pin a1, the input pin a2, and the second output pin A3 are all General-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins of the SOC.
Specifically, the main board 01 is configured to detect a first voltage state of a short detection pin of the display panel after executing a first preset time delay, and determine that the display panel has no short circuit if the first voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is not abnormal.
The motherboard 01 provides a supply voltage for the EVDD pin P1, so that the display panel 02 is powered on.
Generally, before providing a supply voltage to the EVDD pin P1, the main board 01 also provides a supply voltage to the VDD pin P3, and VDD and EVDD have different timing requirements according to specification information of different products, fig. 3 is a possible design, and fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of a power-on timing sequence and a power-off timing sequence of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, where voltage needs to be provided to the VDD pin P3 first, and voltage needs to be provided to the EVDD pin P1 after 500ms, as can be seen in fig. 1, an interval time between times t1 and t2 is 500 ms.
When the first preset time delay is executed, the main board 01 detects the first voltage state of the short detection pin P2 of the display panel 02, and determines the first voltage state according to the voltage level of the short detection pin P2, for example, if the short detection pin P2 is at a high level, it indicates that there is an abnormality in the short detection pin P2, and if the short detection pin P2 is at a low level, it indicates that there is no abnormality in the short detection pin P2.
In a specific implementation, the first predetermined time delay may be 100 ms.
If the first voltage state indicates that the short detection pin P2 is not abnormal, it is determined that the display panel 02 is not short-circuited, so as to perform the next process, for example, normally start the Kernel, and end the short detection process for the display panel 02 in the Boot stage.
The short circuit detection device of the display panel provided by the embodiment of the invention comprises a mainboard 01 and a display panel 02, wherein the display panel 02 is connected with a first output pin A1 of the mainboard 01 through a display drive power supply pin P1, and the display panel 02 is connected with an input pin A2 of the mainboard 01 through a short circuit detection pin P2; the display panel 02 receives a power supply voltage provided by the mainboard 01 through a display driving power supply pin P1 to control the display panel 02 to be lighted, the voltage state of a short circuit detection pin P2 is used for indicating whether the short circuit detection pin is abnormal or not, the voltage state comprises a first voltage state, the power supply voltage is provided for a display driving power supply pin P1 of the display panel 02, the first voltage state of the short circuit detection pin P2 of the display panel is detected after a first preset time delay is executed, if the first voltage state indicates that the short circuit detection pin P2 is not abnormal, the display panel is determined not to be short-circuited, the scheme starts a detection process for the short circuit detection pin of the display panel immediately after the EVDD is powered on, so that a next process is carried out after the current display panel is determined not to be short-circuited, for example, a Kernel stage is entered, and seamless butt joint of the short circuit detection pin detection from a Boot stage to the Kernel stage is realized, the screen burning result caused by the lack of short circuit detection pin detection in the Boot stage is prevented.
Fig. 4(a), fig. 4(b) and fig. 4(c) are schematic voltage status diagrams of a short detection pin according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 4(a) to 4(c), when there is no short circuit on the display panel 02, as shown in fig. 4(a), the Error _ Detection pin P2 is at a low level, for example, when the voltage of the Error _ Detection pin P2 is 0V; the Error _ Detection pin P2 shown in fig. 4(b) is high, i.e., the voltage of the Error _ Detection pin P2 is not zero and continues to be high for a period of time, which may be a period of time less than 1s or longer; as shown in fig. 4(c), the glitch is only one voltage of the Error _ Detection pin P2, and it can be seen that the level of the Error _ Detection pin P2 is a non-continuous high level in this case.
In the scheme, the possibility of misjudging that the display panel 02 has a short circuit due to detecting the non-continuous high level of the Error _ Detection pin P2 is avoided, and when the first voltage state indicates that the Error _ Detection pin P2 has abnormality, the second Detection is continuously performed on the Error _ Detection pin P2 of the display panel 02.
With reference to fig. 4(a) to 4(c), when the first voltage state indicates that the Error _ Detection pin P2 is abnormal, that is, when the Error _ Detection pin P2 is detected to be at a high level, the motherboard 01 needs to further determine whether the high level of the Error _ Detection pin P2 is a continuous high level, and then execute a second preset time delay, unlike the prior art that the Error _ Detection pin P2 is a high level obtained by a single Detection, and then determine that the display panel is short-circuited, the present scheme is to prevent the display panel 02 from being erroneously determined to have a short-circuit due to the detected high level being only a burr phenomenon, and needs to execute a second Detection, before which, a certain preset time delay needs to be provided to determine that the high level of the Error _ Detection pin P2 is continuous.
Optionally, the second preset time is 60 ms.
After the second preset time delay is executed, the main board detects a second voltage state of the Error _ Detection pin P2 of the display panel, and the second voltage state is determined according to the voltage level of the Error _ Detection pin P2, specifically, if the Error _ Detection pin P2 is a high level, it indicates that the level of the Error _ Detection pin P2 is a continuous high level, that is, the display panel has a short circuit, and if the Error _ Detection pin P2 is a low level, it indicates that the display panel does not have a short circuit.
In this embodiment, when the first voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is abnormal, the motherboard executes a second preset time delay, and detects a second voltage state of the short detection pin of the display panel, and if the second voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is abnormal, the motherboard determines that the display panel is short-circuited.
On the basis of the above embodiment, if the main board 01 determines that the display panel 02 has a short circuit, it needs to control the power down of the display panel 02 in time, and specifically, the display driving power supply pin P1 and the logic control power supply pin P3 of the display panel 02 may be controlled to be powered down according to a preset time sequence.
According to different display panels and different application scenarios, different preset time sequences can be provided, taking the power-down time sequence of the display panel shown in fig. 3 as an example, the main board controls the power-down of the display panel 02, and the method specifically includes: the EVDD pin P1 is controlled to be powered down firstly, and the VDD pin P2 is controlled to be powered down after 30 ms.
Then, the value of the environment variable (ErrorTimes) is added by 1, and the value of the environment variable is used to determine whether to provide the power supply voltage to the display driving power supply pin P1 of the display panel 02. When detecting that display panel 02 has the short circuit, add 1 to errorTimes to save, when the value accumulation of errorTimes exceeded the default, the mainboard was not to the EVDD power supply.
In a specific implementation manner, the method for detecting a short circuit of a display panel, before providing a supply voltage to the display driving supply pin P1 of the display panel 02, further includes: if the value of the environment variable is less than or equal to the preset value, a power supply voltage is provided for a display driving power supply pin P1 of the display panel 02. For example, if the start-up condition required by the specification of the product is that ErrorTimes is less than 3, after the supply voltage is provided to the VDD pin P3, it is determined whether the value of ErrorTimes is less than 3, if so, the supply voltage is provided to the EVDD pin P1, and the display panel is lit; if not, no power supply voltage is provided for the EVDD pin P1, so that the display panel is in a black screen state to prevent the display panel from being burnt.
The present invention provides a method for detecting a short circuit of a display panel, which is applied to the device described in the above embodiments, and the following specific embodiments are provided to explain the method for detecting a short circuit of a display panel provided by the present invention.
Fig. 5 is a schematic flowchart of a short-circuit detection method of a display panel according to a first embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 5, the method for detecting a short circuit of a display panel includes:
s101: and supplying a power supply voltage to a display driving power supply pin of the display panel.
In this step, the motherboard provides a supply voltage to the EVDD pin, so that the display panel is powered on.
S102: after the first preset time delay is executed, a first voltage state of a short circuit detection pin of the display panel is detected.
After the power supply voltage is provided to the display driving power supply pin in step S101, a first preset time delay is executed, and after the time delay, the main board detects a first voltage state of an Error _ Detection pin of the display panel, and determines the first voltage state according to a voltage level of the Error _ Detection pin.
In a specific implementation, the first predetermined time delay may be 100 ms.
S103: and if the first voltage state indicates that the short-circuit detection pin is not abnormal, determining that the display panel is not short-circuited.
And if the first voltage state indicates that the short-circuit detection pin is not abnormal, determining that the display surface is not short-circuited, performing the next process, for example, normally starting a Kernel, and ending the short-circuit detection process for the display panel in the Boot stage.
According to the short circuit detection method of the display panel, the power supply voltage is provided for the display drive power supply pin of the display panel, the first voltage state of the short circuit detection pin of the display panel is detected after the first preset time delay is executed, if the first voltage state indicates that the short circuit detection pin is not abnormal, the display panel is determined not to have a short circuit, the detection process is started immediately for the short circuit detection pin of the display panel after the EVDD is powered on, seamless butt joint of the short circuit detection pin detection from the Boot stage to the Kernel stage is achieved, and the screen burning effect caused by lack of detection for the short circuit detection pin in the Boot stage is prevented.
On the basis of the embodiment shown in fig. 5, fig. 6 is a schematic flowchart of a second embodiment of a short circuit detection method for a display panel according to the embodiment of the present invention; the scheme is to avoid the possibility of misjudging that the display panel has a short circuit due to detecting the non-continuous high level of the Error _ Detection pin, and when the first voltage state indicates that the display panel has the short circuit, the second Detection is continuously carried out on the Error _ Detection pin of the display panel.
The method for detecting a short circuit of the display panel shown in fig. 6 further includes:
s104: and if the first voltage state indicates that the short-circuit detection pin is abnormal, executing second preset time delay.
In this step, if the first voltage state indicates that the short Detection pin is abnormal, that is, when the Error _ Detection pin is detected to be at a high level, it is necessary to further determine whether the high level of the Error _ Detection pin is a persistent high level, and then execute a second preset time delay, which is different from the case where the Error _ Detection pin is obtained as a high level only by a single Detection in the prior art, and it is determined that the display panel is short-circuited.
Optionally, the second preset time is 60 ms.
S105: and detecting a second voltage state of a short-circuit detection pin of the display panel.
After executing the second preset time delay, the mainboard detects the second voltage state of the Error _ Detection pin of the display panel, determines the second voltage state according to the voltage level of the Error _ Detection pin, and is specific, if the Error _ Detection pin is a high level, the level of the Error _ Detection pin is a continuous high level, namely, the short-circuit Detection pin is abnormal, and if the Error _ Detection pin is a low level, the short-circuit Detection pin is not abnormal.
S106: and if the second voltage state indicates that the short-circuit detection pin is abnormal, determining that the display panel has a short circuit.
In this step, if the second voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is abnormal, indicating that the short detection pin is at a continuous high level, it is determined that the display panel has a short circuit.
S107: and if the second voltage state indicates that the short-circuit detection pin is not abnormal, determining that the display panel is not short-circuited.
In this step, if the second voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is not abnormal, indicating that the short detection pin is at a non-continuous high level, for example, a voltage glitch, it is determined that the display panel is not short-circuited.
In a specific implementation manner, after it is determined that the display panel has a short circuit, the power down of the display panel needs to be controlled in time, and specifically, the power down of the display driving power supply pin and the logic control power supply pin of the display panel can be controlled according to a preset time sequence.
According to different display panels and different application scenarios, different preset time sequences may be provided, and taking the power down time sequence of the display panel shown in fig. 3 as an example, the method specifically includes: and controlling the EVDD pin to be powered down firstly, and controlling the VDD pin to be powered down after 30 ms.
The value of the environment variable (ErrorTimes) is used to determine whether to provide a supply voltage for a display driver supply pin of the display panel. When detecting that the display panel has a short circuit, add 1 to errorTimes to save, when the value accumulation of errorTimes exceeds the default, the mainboard does not supply power to the EVDD.
And if the display panel is determined not to have the short circuit, performing the next process, for example, normally starting the Kernel, and ending the short circuit detection process for the display panel in the Boot stage.
In this embodiment, when the first voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is abnormal, a second preset time delay is executed, and a second voltage state of the short detection pin of the display panel is detected, if the second voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is abnormal, a short circuit of the display panel is determined, and 1 is further added to a value of an environment variable, where the value of the environment variable is used to determine whether to provide a power supply voltage for a display driving power supply pin of the display panel, and when the first voltage state indicates that the short detection pin is abnormal, it is further determined whether the abnormality is an abnormality caused by a short circuit of the display panel, so as to ensure that an accurate determination is performed on whether the short circuit exists in the display panel, and prevent an erroneous determination of the short circuit of the display panel under a normal condition of the display panel.
