Description

Battery, battery pack and electronic device
Technical Field
The present disclosure relates to battery technologies, and particularly to a battery, a battery pack including the battery, and an electronic device including the battery.
Background
With the development of battery technology, batteries are widely used in electronic devices such as electronic mobile devices, electric tools, and electric automobiles. When the battery is in use, the protection plate of the battery head is easily subjected to external force impact to cause failure when the battery is subjected to mechanical abuse (such as collision, extrusion, drop and the like). Therefore, it is generally necessary to wrap an insulating tape or an injection-molded plastic frame around the battery head.
However, the insulating tape needs to be cut according to the surface shape of the protective plate, the production efficiency is low, the adhesive strength of the insulating tape is limited, and the reliability is poor. The plastic injection frame can be fully attached to the surface of the protection board, and the bonding reliability between the plastic injection frame and the protection board is improved, but the plastic injection frame occupies the volume of the head of the battery cell, so that the capacity of the battery cell is reduced. In addition, the mode of wrapping the insulating adhesive tape or the injection molding adhesive frame is not beneficial to heat dissipation of the protection board.

The printed circuit board includes a first edge opposite the first surface. The protective body covers the printed circuit board. The protective body includes an upper surface opposite the first surface, at least a portion of the first edge being exposed to the upper surface. One end of the flexible circuit board is electrically connected with the printed circuit board, and the other end extends out of the protective body.
In one possible implementation, the first edge is entirely exposed to the upper surface and is flush with the upper surface.
In one possible implementation, the vertical distance D from the upper surface to the first edge ranges from: d is more than or equal to 0 and less than or equal to 10mm.

The application also provides a battery pack comprising a plurality of the above batteries.
In one possible implementation, a plurality of cells are stacked or arranged side by side.
The application also provides an electronic device comprising the battery.
The projection of the printed circuit board on the plane where the first surface is located in the range of the first surface, so that the protection body does not exceed the battery core along the width direction and the thickness direction of the battery core; moreover, the vertical distance D between the upper surface of the protective body and the first edge of the printed circuit board is controlled within a certain range, so that the size of the protective body is smaller along the length direction of the battery cell, and the protective body improves the safety and reliability of the battery and reduces the capacity reduction of the battery cell; in addition, the arrangement that the first edge is exposed to the protective body is also beneficial to heat dissipation of the printed circuit board, and the heat dissipation performance of the battery core is improved.

Detailed Description
The following description of the embodiments of the present application will be made clearly and fully with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which it is evident that the embodiments described are only some, but not all, of the embodiments of the present application.
Unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which this application belongs. The terminology used herein in the description of the application is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of the application.
Some embodiments of the present application are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The following embodiments and features of the embodiments may be combined with each other without conflict.
Referring to fig. 1 to 4, an embodiment of the present application provides a battery 100, which includes a battery cell 10, a printed circuit board 20, a protection body 30, and a flexible circuit board 40.
The cell 10 includes a first surface 101, a second surface 102 opposite the first surface 101, and a side 103 connected between the first surface 101 and the second surface 102. In one embodiment, the battery cell 10 includes a case 11, an electrode assembly and an electrolyte (not shown) disposed in the case 11, and a tab 12 electrically connected to the electrode assembly, the tab 12 protruding from the case 11. More specifically, the casing 11 may be a package bag obtained by packaging with an aluminum plastic film, that is, the battery cell 10 may be a soft package battery cell. At this time, the case 11 includes a case body 110 for accommodating the electrode assembly and the electrolyte, a top sealing rim 111 and a side sealing rim 112 connected to the case body 110, and the tab 12 protrudes from the top sealing rim 111. The surface of the housing body 110 connected to the top sealing edge 111 is the first surface 101. It is understood that the battery cell 10 is not limited to the soft package battery cell, but may be a steel-shell battery cell or an aluminum-shell battery cell, etc., and the present application is not limited thereto.
The printed circuit board 20 is electrically connected to the battery cell 10. Specifically, the printed circuit board 20 may be provided with an electrical connector 210, and the printed circuit board 20 is electrically connected to the tab 12 of the battery cell 10 through the electrical connector 210 (e.g. nickel plate). The printed circuit board 20 is vertically disposed on the first surface 101, and the projection of the printed circuit board 20 on the plane of the first surface 101 is all located in the range of the first surface 101. In another embodiment, the printed circuit board 20 may be disposed obliquely to the first surface 101, and the included angle between the printed circuit board 20 and the first surface 101 is smaller than 90 degrees.
The protective body 30 covers the printed circuit board 20. Wherein the printed circuit board 20 comprises a first edge 201 facing away from the first surface 101 and a second edge 202 facing the first surface 101. The protective body 30 comprises an upper surface 301 facing away from the first surface 101, at least part of the first edge 201 being exposed to the upper surface 301. Specifically, the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30 is recessed inward to form a through groove or a countersink for exposing at least a portion of the first edge 201, and an extending direction of the through groove or countersink may be parallel to an extending direction of the printed circuit board 20.
One end of the flexible circuit board 40 is electrically connected to the printed circuit board 20, and the other end extends out of the protective body 30 and is used for electrical connection with an external element (not shown). In one embodiment, the flexible circuit board 40 is provided with a connector 420, and the flexible circuit board 40 is used to electrically connect the battery cell 10 with an external element through the connector 420.
Taking a soft package battery cell as an example, when manufacturing the battery cell 10, the electrode assembly is first packaged in the case 11, the case 11 is formed into a case body 110 for accommodating the electrode assembly, and a top seal edge 111 and a side seal edge 112 connected to the case body 110, and the tab 12 is protruded from the top seal edge 111. Then, the printed circuit board 20 is electrically connected with the tab 12, and the printed circuit board 20 is folded into the accommodating space formed by the first surface 101 and the top sealing edge 111, so that the printed circuit board 20 is vertically arranged or obliquely arranged on the first surface 101. Then, the protective body 30 is formed on the surface of the printed circuit board 20 by molding an insulating material by low pressure injection and curing. The material of the protective body 30 may be an insulating resin such as a silicone gel, a hot melt adhesive, or an epoxy resin.
Wherein, the vertical distance D from the upper surface 301 to the first edge 201 ranges from: d is more than or equal to 0 and less than or equal to 10mm. As shown in fig. 4, in one embodiment, the vertical distance D from the upper surface 301 to the first edge 201 ranges from: d is more than 0 and less than or equal to 10mm. Wherein, a rib for supporting the printed circuit board 20 may be disposed on the inner surface of the mold (not shown), and after molding and opening, the rib forms a corresponding through groove or sink groove on the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30, so as to expose at least a portion of the first edge 201 of the printed circuit board 20 in the protective body 30. Wherein the vertical distance D between the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30 and the first edge 201 of the printed circuit board 20 can be controlled by setting the height of the ribs.
Referring to fig. 3 to 5 in combination, the protection body 30 has a first dimension D1, a second dimension D2, and a third dimension D3 along the length, width, and thickness directions of the battery cell 10, respectively. Wherein the first dimension D1 is a sum of the distance between the first edge 201 of the printed circuit board 20 and the first surface 101 and the vertical distance D. Thus, the vertical distance D is controlled within a certain range, which is advantageous in reducing the first dimension D1 of the protection body 30. Since the projection of the printed circuit board 20 on the plane of the first surface 101 is all located in the range of the first surface 101, the second dimension D2 does not exceed the width of the battery cell 10 and the third dimension D3 does not exceed the thickness of the battery cell 10, i.e. the second dimension D2 and the third dimension D3 are advantageously reduced. Meanwhile, the second dimension D2 and the third dimension D3 are also required to enable the protective body 30 to cover the top sealing edge 111 and the printed circuit board 20 at the same time.
In another embodiment, as shown in fig. 5, the first edge 201 is entirely exposed to the upper surface 301 and is flush with the upper surface 301. That is, the vertical distance D between the upper surface 301 of the protector 30 and the first edge 201 of the printed circuit board 20 is equal to 0. Correspondingly, the inner surface of the mold for supporting the printed circuit board 20 is not provided with the convex rib, i.e. the inner surface is a plane. At this time, i.e., along the length direction of the battery cell 10, the protecting body 30 does not exceed the first edge 201 of the printed circuit board 20, so that the first dimension D1 of the protecting body 30 is further reduced, and the capacity of the battery cell 10 is prevented from being reduced.
This application sets up protection body 30 cladding printed circuit board 20, consequently, when battery 100 receives mechanical abuse (such as collision, extrusion, fall etc.), the existence of protection body 30 can play certain cushioning effect, is favorable to reducing the outside impact that electric core 10 head and printed circuit board 20 received, avoids electric core 10 shell 11 damage and weeping, avoids electric core 10 inefficacy problem to improve the security and the reliability of battery 100.
Secondly, the projection of the printed circuit board 20 on the plane where the first surface 101 is located is all located in the range of the first surface 101, so that the protective body 30 does not exceed the cell 10 along the width direction and the thickness direction of the cell 10, i.e. the second dimension D2 and the third dimension D3 of the protective body 30 are smaller. Again, by controlling the vertical distance D between the upper surface 301 of the protection body 30 and the first edge 201 of the printed circuit board 20 to be within a certain range, the first dimension D1 of the protection body 30 is also smaller along the length direction of the cell 10. Therefore, the protection body 30 improves the safety and reliability of the battery 100, and reduces the capacity reduction of the battery cell 10 due to the smaller sizes of the three directions (it will be understood that, in the case that the whole volume of the battery 100 is constant, if the protection body 30 is large, the volume of the battery cell 10 needs to be correspondingly reduced, so that the capacity of the battery cell 10 is greatly reduced).
In addition, since the printed circuit board 20 is generally provided with a heating element, the arrangement that the first edge 201 is exposed to the protecting body 30 is also beneficial to heat dissipation of the printed circuit board 20, and improves the heat dissipation performance of the battery cell 10.
In one embodiment, the battery 100 further includes a first insulating member 50, and the first insulating member 50 covers the protective body 30 and covers the first edge 201. The first insulating member 50 is used for fixing the protection body 30 to the battery cell 10, so as to improve the stability of the protection body 30. Wherein the insulating member may be an insulating tape.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the battery 100 may further include a second insulating member 60 and a third insulating member 70, the second insulating member 60 covering the second surface 102 of the cell 10. The third insulator 70 encases the side 103 of the cell 10. The second insulator 60 and the third insulator 70 serve to provide insulation protection for the second surface 102 and the side 103 of the cell 10, respectively, and to protect the second surface 102 and the side 103 from abrasion by external forces.
As shown in fig. 2 and 3, in an embodiment, the protection body 30 is provided with a groove 31, and the flexible circuit board 40 includes a first portion 41 located inside the protection body 30, a second portion 42 located outside the protection body 30, and a bending portion 43 connected between the first portion 41 and the second portion 42, and the bending portion 43 is located in the groove 31. The flexible circuit board 40 is electrically connected to the printed circuit board 20 by a first subsection 41. The connector 420 is disposed on the second section 42. More specifically, the first portion 41 is exposed to the first insulating member 50.
Referring to fig. 6 and 7, another embodiment of the present application further provides a battery 200. Unlike the battery 100 described above, the upper surface 301 of the protection body 30 of the battery 200 is provided with a plurality of positioning grooves 3010, and a portion of the first edge 201 is exposed to the positioning grooves 3010. As shown, the number of the positioning grooves 3010 may be two, and the arrangement direction of the two positioning grooves 3010 is parallel to the extending direction of the printed circuit board 20.
The protruding ribs arranged on the inner surface of the mold can be changed into a plurality of protruding blocks, and after the mold is formed and opened, a plurality of corresponding positioning grooves 3010 are formed on the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30 by the plurality of protruding blocks. Also, the vertical distance D between the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30 and the first edge 201 of the printed circuit board 20 may be controlled by setting the height of the bump.
As shown in fig. 7, in one embodiment, the vertical distance D from the upper surface 301 to the first edge 201 ranges from: d is more than 0 and less than or equal to 10mm.
Referring to fig. 8, a battery 300 is also provided in accordance with yet another embodiment of the present application. The difference from the above-mentioned battery 200 is that the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30 of the battery 300 is provided with a plurality of marks 3012, and the marks 3012 contain identification information corresponding to the battery cells 10. Wherein the identification 3012 can include at least one of numbers, text, and graphics.
In one embodiment, the indicia 3012 are recessed grooves formed by depressions in the upper surface 301. Correspondingly, a relief for supporting the printed circuit board 20 may be provided on the inner surface of the mold, and when the mold is formed and opened, the relief forms a corresponding mark 3012 on the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30. Because the mark 3012 is recessed compared to the upper surface 301 of the protective body 30, the first dimension D1 of the protective body 30 is not increased by the mark 3012, so that the decrease of the length of the battery cell 10 due to the increase of the first dimension D1 of the protective body 30 is avoided, and the decrease of the capacity of the battery cell 10 is avoided.
Referring to fig. 9 and 10, the present application further provides a battery pack 1. The battery pack 1 includes a plurality of batteries 100. Wherein a plurality of the cells 100 may be arranged in the thickness or width direction of the battery cell 10. As shown in fig. 9, a plurality of batteries 100 may be arranged in the thickness direction of the battery cell 10, i.e., a plurality of batteries 100 are stacked. As shown in fig. 10, a plurality of batteries 100 are arranged in the width direction of the battery cells 10, that is, a plurality of battery cells 10 are arranged side by side.
Referring to fig. 11, the present application further provides an electronic device 2, where the electronic device 2 includes the battery 100 (or the batteries 200 and 300) as described above. In one embodiment, the electronic device 2 of the present application may be, but is not limited to, a notebook computer, a pen-input computer, a mobile computer, an electronic book player, a portable telephone, a portable facsimile machine, a portable copier, a portable printer, a headset, a video recorder, a liquid crystal television, a portable cleaner, a portable CD-player, a mini-compact disc, a transceiver, an electronic notepad, a calculator, a memory card, a portable audio recorder, a radio, a stand-by power supply, a motor, an automobile, a motorcycle, a bicycle, a light fixture, a toy, a game machine, a clock, an electric tool, a flash lamp, a camera, a household large-sized battery, a lithium ion capacitor, and the like.
The above embodiments are only for illustrating the technical solution of the present application and not for limiting, and although the present application has been described in detail with reference to the preferred embodiments, it should be understood by those skilled in the art that the technical solution of the present application may be modified or equivalently replaced without departing from the spirit and essence of the technical solution of the present application.
