A firmware update method of peripheral component interconnect express switch is implemented by a firmware update system connected to a host computer, the firmware update system includes a baseboard management unit connected to the host computer and a peripheral component interconnect express switch connected to the baseboard management unit, including: (A) the baseboard management unit transmits a firmware update file received from the host computer to the peripheral component fast interconnection switcher; (B) the PCI express switch transmitting a receipt success reply to the BMC; (C) the baseboard management unit transmits an update command to the PCI express switch; (D) the peripheral component fast interconnection switcher updates according to the firmware update file; (E) the PCI express switch reboots and executes the firmware update file.

Technical Field

Background

(D) updating according to the firmware update file after receiving the update command by the peripheral component fast interconnection switcher; and
(E) by means of the peripheral component fast interconnection switcher, after the updating of the firmware updating file is completed, the firmware updating file is restarted and executed.
2. The firmware update method of PCI express switch of claim 1, wherein said step (B) comprises the steps of:
(B-1) determining whether the firmware update file is damaged during transmission by the peripheral component interconnect express switch after receiving the firmware update file; and
(B-2) when the PCI express switch determines that the firmware update file is not damaged during transmission, the PCI express switch generates and transmits the reception success reply to the BMC.

The firmware update method of PCI express switch of claim 2, wherein in said step (A), said baseboard management unit generates and transmits an information request related to said firmware update file to said host computer after receiving an update request from said host computer indicating that said PCI express switch needs to be updated, so that said host computer transmits said firmware update file to said baseboard management unit.

The firmware update method of PCI express switch of claim 3, wherein in said step (A), said baseboard management unit detects whether a corresponding management network communication port of said baseboard management unit receives said update request from said host computer, and generates and transmits said information request to said host computer after detecting that said corresponding management network communication port receives said update request, so that said host computer transmits said firmware update file to said baseboard management unit.
