Detailed Description
Hereinafter, the first to fourth embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Note that, in the second embodiment and the following embodiments, the same matters as those in the previous embodiments will be omitted as appropriate.
(first embodiment)
Fig. 1 is an overall configuration diagram of an information processing system S according to a first embodiment. The information processing system S includes an information processing device 1 and a plurality of digital broadcast receivers 2. The digital broadcast receiver 2 receives a television broadcast signal, displays a television program on a display unit (not shown), and transmits a viewing history (viewing log) which is a history of the television program viewed by a user to the information processing apparatus 1. The information processing apparatus 1 is communicably connected to a plurality of digital broadcast receivers 2 via a network N such as the internet.
The television program is, for example, content played back by terrestrial digital broadcasting, satellite broadcasting (BS broadcasting, CS broadcasting, etc.), cable television (cable broadcasting), and the like.
The information processing device 1 includes a processing unit 11, a storage unit 12, an input unit 13, and a display unit 14. Although the information processing apparatus 1 also includes a communication interface, illustration and description thereof are omitted for simplicity of description. The information Processing apparatus 1 is constituted by a computer (such as a server) including a hardware processor such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit), a memory, and an HDD (Hard Disk Drive). In addition, the information processing apparatus 1 may be realized by a cloud server. In this case, for example, the input unit 13 or the display unit 14 may be implemented by another device via a communication network.
The storage unit 12 stores a program information DB121 (program information storage unit), a viewing history DB122 (viewing history storage unit), various data, and various programs.
The program information DB121 stores program information. Here, an example of the program information stored in the program information DB121 will be described with reference to fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a diagram showing an example of program information according to the first embodiment. The program information is composed of information on items of broadcast date and time (time slot about television program), channel, program id (identifier), program name and Genre (Genre). The program information does not need to include information of all items described above, and may include at least information of a broadcast date and time and a channel. Specifically, the Program information is, for example, an Electronic Program Guide (EPG). The processing unit 11 stores program information received via the internet or the like in the program information DB121 in advance.
Returning to fig. 1, the viewing history DB122 stores viewing histories. Here, an example of the viewing history stored in the viewing history DB122 will be described with reference to fig. 3. Fig. 3 is a diagram showing an example of the viewing history according to the first embodiment. The viewing history is composed of information of items such as a receiver ID (ID of the digital broadcast receiver 2), viewing date and time, channel, and program ID. The viewing history does not need to include information of all items described above, and may include at least information of a receiver ID, a viewing date and time, and a channel. From this viewing history, it is known which channel is viewed from when to when by which digital broadcast receiver 2.
Returning to fig. 1, the processing unit 11 includes an acquisition unit 111, a transition determination unit 112, a viewing determination unit 113, and an index value calculation unit 114. The functions of each unit 111 to 114 are realized by, for example, a CPU executing a program. In addition, part or all of the functions of each of the units 111 to 114 can be realized by a dedicated hardware circuit. Hereinafter, the main operation body of the processing unit 11 is referred to as "processing unit 11" with respect to the processing other than the units 111 to 114.
The acquisition unit 111 acquires the viewing histories from the respective digital broadcast receivers 2, and stores the acquired viewing histories in the viewing history DB 122.
The conversion determination unit 112 determines that, when a first television program is viewed and a second television program related to the first television program is viewed, for each digital broadcast receiver 2, a conversion indicating that the purpose related to the first television program is achieved because the second television program is viewed, based on the viewing history stored in the viewing history DB122 and the program information stored in the program information DB121, and generates conversion history information including the determination result.
Here, for example, the first television program is a pay program in a pay broadcasting service, and the second television program is a free program for the purpose of promoting participation in the pay broadcasting service for viewing the pay program. In the following, this case is taken as an example, but in addition to this, the first television program may be a predetermined target television program, and the second television program may be a promotion program for the purpose of prompting the target television program to be viewed.
The conversion determination unit 112 determines that the pay program and the free program have been viewed, for example, when the pay program and the free program are viewed for a predetermined time or more. The conversion determination unit 112 can determine the viewing of the pay program and the free program by associating the broadcast date and time and the channel in the program information with the viewing date and time and the channel in the viewing history. The conversion history information created by the conversion determination unit 112 includes the receiver ID of the digital broadcast receiver 2 and the information of the conversion date and time.
Note that the viewing method may be either of live viewing and playback viewing. The method of calculating the viewing time during playback viewing may be either a method based on a "effective range (reach)" time excluding a time period during which viewing is repeated or a method based on a "total" time which is totally included without such exclusion. Also, the above-mentioned prescribed time may be a fixed time or may be a value of a certain ratio with respect to the playing time. When a value of a certain ratio to the broadcast time is used, for example, the ratio is set to 0.5, and when the broadcast time is 1 hour, it is determined that the viewing is performed for 30 minutes or more, and when the broadcast time is 10 minutes, it is determined that the viewing is performed for 5 minutes or more. This prevents a television program having a long broadcast time from being easily determined to be watched as compared with a television program having a short broadcast time.
In general, when the pay broadcast service is not added, a screen or the like for promoting the addition of the pay broadcast service is displayed on a channel of the pay program instead of the pay program. The possibility that the user continues to watch such a picture for a long time is low. Therefore, the length of the predetermined time period may be set in consideration of this point. Further, the presence or absence of transition can be determined using information on the fact that the user has joined or not joined the pay broadcasting service based on the receiver ID of the viewing history and the customer information held by the pay broadcasting operator.
The viewing determination unit 113 determines the viewing of a free program (second television program) for each digital broadcast receiver 2 based on the viewing history stored in the viewing history DB122 and the program information stored in the program information DB121, and creates viewing history information including the determination result. The viewing determination unit 113 can determine viewing of a free program by linking the broadcast date and time and the channel in the program information with the viewing date and time and the channel in the viewing history.
In addition, when determining the viewing of the free program, the viewing determination unit 113 may determine that the free program has already been viewed, for example, when there is viewing for a predetermined time or more. The viewing history information created by the viewing determination unit 113 includes information of the receiver ID, the viewing date and time, and the program ID of the digital broadcast receiver 2.
The index value calculation unit 114 calculates an index value indicating a degree of contribution to viewing of the pay program (first television program) with respect to the free program (second television program) based on the conversion history information created by the conversion determination unit 112 and the viewing history information created by the viewing determination unit 113. For example, the index value is the number of digital broadcast receivers 2 that are viewed during a certain period before the conversion.
The input unit 13 is a means for inputting information by a user, and is, for example, a keyboard or a mouse. The Display unit 14 is a means for displaying information, and is, for example, an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display).
Here, an example of the first index value calculation will be described with reference to fig. 4. Fig. 4 is an explanatory diagram of a first index value calculation example according to the first embodiment. In this example, the digital broadcast receivers a to c are taken as an example of the digital broadcast receiver 2. Further, as the free programs associated with the pay programs, programs a to f are exemplified. Then, the number of digital broadcast receivers 2 that were viewed before the conversion is used as an index value for each free program.
In addition, a month in which there is a conversion (i.e., a user joins a charged play service) with respect to the digital broadcast receivers a, b is referred to as a converted month. With respect to the digital broadcast receiver a, there was viewing of the programs a, b in the last month, and a converted month was added. Also, with the digital broadcast receiver b, there are viewing of programs a, c, d in the last month, and join after there is viewing of program f in the converted month. With regard to the digital broadcast receiver c, there was participation after the viewing of the programs e, c in the last month.
In such a case, when the index values are calculated by summarizing the digital broadcast receivers 2 added (converted) to the converted month, the digital broadcast receiver c is not targeted first, and therefore the index values of the programs e and c viewed by the digital broadcast receiver c are not added.
In addition, since the programs a and b received and viewed by the digital broadcast receiver a are received and viewed within a predetermined period before the addition (a period of a double arrow denoted by reference numeral P in the figure, for example, about 1 month), 1 is added to each index value. In addition, since the programs c, d, and f received and viewed by the digital broadcast receiver b are received and viewed during a predetermined period before joining, 1 is added to each index value. Note that, since the program a is not viewed within a predetermined period before the addition, the index value is not added.
In this way, the index value calculation unit 114 can calculate, as an index value, the number of digital broadcast receivers 2 that are viewed during a certain period before conversion, for each free program.
Next, an example of calculating the second index value will be described with reference to fig. 5. Fig. 5 is an explanatory diagram of a second example of the calculation of the index value according to the first embodiment. The point different from the case of fig. 4 is that the index value is calculated by summarizing the programs played in the playing month of fig. 5.
In the case of fig. 5, since the programs a and b viewed by the digital broadcast receiver a are viewed in the broadcast month for a predetermined period before joining, 1 is added to each index value. In addition, since the programs c and d received by the digital broadcast receiver b are viewed in the broadcast month and within a predetermined period before the addition, 1 is added to the index value of each program. In the program a, the viewing is not within a predetermined period before the addition although the viewing is a broadcast month, and therefore, there is no addition of the index value. Further, since the viewing of the program f is not a broadcast month, there is no addition of the index value. In addition, since the programs e and c received by the digital broadcast receiver c are viewed in the broadcast month and within a predetermined period before the addition, 1 is added to each index value.
In this way, the index value calculation unit 114 can calculate, as the index value, the number of digital broadcast receivers 2 that were viewed before the conversion, based on the broadcast month, for each free program.
Next, the processing performed by the information processing apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to fig. 6. Fig. 6 is a flowchart showing a process performed by the information processing apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment. First, in step S1, the conversion determination unit 112 determines that the conversion is to be performed when the respective digital broadcast receivers 2 view the free program and view the charged program related to the free program based on the viewing history and the program information, and creates conversion history information including the determination result.
Next, in step S2, the viewing determination unit 113 determines the viewing of the free program for each digital broadcast receiver 2 based on the viewing history and the program information, and creates viewing history information including the determination result.
Next, in step S3, the index value calculation unit 114 calculates an index value indicating the degree of contribution to the viewing of the pay program for each free program based on the conversion history information and the viewing history information.
Next, in step S4, the processing unit 11 displays the index value calculated in step S3 on the display unit 14.
In this way, according to the information processing system S of the first embodiment, the conversion can be quantitatively grasped with respect to the television program. That is, since the index value indicating the degree of contribution to viewing the pay program is calculated for each of the free programs, if the index value for each of the free programs is displayed on the display unit 14, the user can easily and quantitatively grasp the degree of contribution to the pay program for each of the free programs.
For example, if the advertisement is a Web advertisement, the conversion can be grasped quantitatively because there is a click operation. However, in the case of a television program, since there is no operation such as a click operation, it has not been possible to grasp a conversion quantitatively. According to the first embodiment, since the conversion of the television program can be quantitatively grasped, it is possible to provide an index value useful for, for example, a broadcasting station, a video distributor, an advertisement agency, and the like that desire the maximum result for a limited promotion budget or a time limit.
(second embodiment)
Next, a second embodiment will be explained. In the first embodiment, "1" is added to the index value for each free program and for each digital broadcast receiver 2 that is currently viewed. In the second embodiment, the index value calculation unit 114 adds "1/(the number of free programs viewed by the digital broadcast receiver 2)" to the index value for each free program for each digital broadcast receiver 2 that is currently viewed.
Here, it is assumed that there are a plurality of free programs related to the pay program (the same applies to the third and fourth embodiments). Then, when the index value is calculated for each free program (second television program), the index value calculation unit 114 calculates the index value using the information on the number of free programs (second television programs) that have been received and viewed before conversion for each digital broadcast receiver 2. A specific example will be described below with reference to fig. 7 and 8 (the same items as those in fig. 4 and 5 will not be described).
Fig. 7 is an explanatory diagram of a third example of index value calculation according to the second embodiment. Unlike the case of fig. 4, the programs a and b viewed by the digital broadcast receiver a have the index value "1/2" added thereto.
In addition, unlike the case of fig. 4, "1/3" is added to each index value of programs c, d, and f viewed by the digital broadcast receiver b.
The index values are thereby normalized, and the total of the index values of all the free programs matches the number of converted digital broadcast receivers 2. This makes it possible to suppress a decrease in reliability of the index value even if the number of free programs to be viewed differs for each digital broadcast receiver 2. Therefore, for example, with respect to a free program, it is possible to maintain high reliability of the result when the index value is compared and analyzed by addition and subtraction in genre units, playback period units, or the like.
The following description will be made by using the numerical expression. The index value S of the free program can be calculated by the following equation (1).
[ mathematical formula 1 ]
Figure PCTCN2019110396-APPB-000001
Here, Wi is the number of free programs that are watched before conversion is performed by the digital broadcast receiver 2 that has converted after the viewing of the free programs. N is the number of digital broadcast receivers 2 that have been converted after viewing of the free program.
Fig. 8 is an explanatory diagram of a fourth example of index value calculation according to the second embodiment. Unlike the case of fig. 5, the programs a and b viewed by the digital broadcast receiver a have their index values added to "1/2".
In addition, unlike the case of fig. 5, "1/2" is added to each index value of programs c and d viewed by the digital broadcast receiver b. Further, unlike the case of fig. 5, "1/2" is added to each index value of programs e and c viewed by the digital broadcast receiver c.
Therefore, the index value calculation unit 114 can calculate the index value for the program c to 1/2+1/2 equal to 1, for example.
As described above, according to the second embodiment, when the index value is added for each free program, the index value with higher reliability can be obtained by adding "1/the number of free programs viewed through the digital broadcast receiver 2".
(third embodiment)
Next, a third embodiment will be explained. In the third embodiment, when the index value is calculated for each free program (second television program), the index value calculation unit 114 calculates the index value such that the shorter the time from the viewing of the free program (second television program) to the conversion, the higher the index value.
This is based on the following assumptions: when there are a plurality of free programs contributing to the conversion, for example, a free program watched the day before the conversion and a free program watched the month before the conversion have a higher probability of contributing to the conversion than a new free program on the day before from the viewpoint of memory or impression of the user.
An example of a method in which the index value is increased linearly as the number of days elapsed from the day when the free program is viewed to the day of conversion is smaller is shown below. When a free program viewed from the converted day to M days before the maximum is an evaluation target, the index value calculation unit 114 calculates an evaluation index value S' of a certain free program by the following expression (2).
[ mathematical formula 2 ]
Figure PCTCN2019110396-APPB-000002
Here, TiIs the number of elapsed days from the day the free program was viewed through the digital broadcast receiver 2 (ith) to the converted day. And, TijIs the number of elapsed days from the day the free program (jth) was viewed through the digital broadcast receiver 2 (ith) to the converted day. And, miIs free of charge that was watched by the digital broadcast receiver 2 (ith) before the converted dayThe number of programs. N is the number of digital broadcast receivers 2 that have been converted after viewing of the free program.
By subtracting the number of days elapsed after viewing from MiTo obtain a value M-T as a basis of the index valuei". The value "M-Ti"divided by all of the free programs received through the digital broadcast receiver 2 (ith) M-Ti"the sum of (and the molecule" M-T "in the formula (2))i"corresponding denominator"), whereby the sum of the addition values to the index value of each of the free programs that have been received and viewed by the digital broadcast receiver 2 (i-th) becomes "1".
For example, setting M to 10 (days), with respect to a certain digital broadcast receiver 2 (ith), there is a free program a 4 days before the conversion1There is a free program A2 days ago2And free program A3There is a free program A1 day ago4In the case of viewing, the free program a generated by the digital broadcast receiver 2 (ith) is1~A 4The addition value to the index value of (2) is shown in the bottom stage of table 1 below.
[ TABLE 1 ]
Figure PCTCN2019110396-APPB-000003
As can be seen from table 1, the total of the addition values of the index values of the digital broadcast receivers 2 is 6/31+8/31+8/31+9/31 equal to 1. By thus making the sum of the addition values "1", the total of the index values of all the free programs matches the number of converted digital broadcast receivers 2, and the reliability of the index values, the results of comparison and analysis using the index values, and the like can be maintained at a high level, as in the case of the second embodiment.
When the time distance between the time when the free program is viewed and the time when the free program is converted is reflected in the index value, the linear distance is not limited to the aboveIn addition to the model, a nonlinear model such as a forgetting curve may be used. In the case of using a forgetting curve, instead of "M-T" as described abovei"and the memory retention rates (saving rates) at the time points of t days after the viewing are used.
As described above, according to the third embodiment, the shorter the time until the transition from the reception of the free program, the higher the index value, and thus the index value with higher reliability reflecting the reality of the user who has viewed the free program, such as the memory and impression, can be obtained.
(fourth embodiment)
Next, a fourth embodiment will be explained. In the fourth embodiment, when the index value is calculated for each free program (second television program), the index value calculation unit 114 calculates the index value using information on the viewing time of the free program. Hereinafter, the description will be specifically made.
Fig. 9 is a graph showing a relationship between the viewing time and the index value according to the fourth embodiment. In fig. 9, the ordinate represents the index value (the addition value of the index value), and the abscissa represents the viewing time. For example, the relation line L1 is linear, and the index value increases as the viewing time is longer. This is based on the following assumptions: the longer the free program is viewed, the more easily it is left in the memory of the user who has viewed, and the greater the degree of contribution to the conversion. For example, if the viewing time of the free program is 5 minutes and 60 minutes, the index value of the free program for which the viewing time is 60 minutes is increased. As can be seen from this, the index value in the present embodiment is an index value in consideration of the viewing time of the free program.
The relation line L2 is nonlinear, and if the viewing time is longer than a certain level, the index value becomes constant (index value V). This is based on the assumption that the contribution degree to the transition is saturated if the viewing time is long to some extent. For example, if the viewing time of the free program is 3 hours and 4 hours, there is no difference in the index value. As can be seen from this, the index value in the present embodiment is an index value in consideration of the saturation of the contribution degree described above.
Although the embodiment of the present invention has been described, the embodiment is presented as an example, and does not limit the scope of the invention. The new embodiment can be implemented in other various ways, and various omissions, substitutions, and changes can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. These embodiments and modifications thereof are included in the scope and gist of the invention, and are included in the invention described in the claims and the equivalent scope thereof.
For example, in the above embodiments, the first television program is a premium program and the second television program is a free program. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and for example, the first television program may be a predetermined target television program, and the second television program may be a promotional program thereof, or other combinations.
In addition, although the display by the display unit 14 is described as an example of a method of outputting the calculated index value in the information processing device 1, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the calculated index value may be outputted by voice or may be outputted as digital data to an external device via a communication interface.
