Description

Separating drum
Technical Field
The invention relates to a rotatable separating drum which is suitable for separating different components, in particular for separating injection-molded parts and cast parts.
Background
A device for separating individual components of different shapes and sizes by machine is known, for example, from DE 2637851C 1. The device is formed by a rotatably and tiltably mounted roller cylinder which is open at both end sides, the outer surface of which is formed by longitudinal bars which are arranged at a distance from one another and are mounted in two side rings so as to be rotatable about the longitudinal axis thereof. The longitudinal bars are configured as sleeve rollers which rotate counter to the direction of rotation of the drum cylinder.
Another device for separating parts of different shapes and sizes, in particular injection-molded parts and cast parts, is disclosed in EP 0265543 a 1. The separating device has a first set of longitudinal bars, which are fixedly supported on two disks, i.e. lateral rings. Furthermore, the separating device has a second set of longitudinal bars, the position of which relative to the discs is adjustable compared to the first set. When rotating in the separating drum, all the longitudinal bars rotate counter to the general direction of rotation of the drum. The second set of longitudinal bars is coupled with the first set of longitudinal bars via a planet plate. The position of the second set of longitudinal bars relative to the first set of longitudinal bars can be changed by means of an endless chain. This enables the spacing between the longitudinal bars to be set quickly.
Another separating drum with cylindrical separating elements, which are arranged parallel to the drum axis, is described in EP 0332195B 1. In this case, an adjustable separating gap is formed between the pivotable separating element and a separating sheet which is fixedly mounted on the drum.
A separating device is known from EP 2415513B 1, the separating device comprising a removal device. The removal device serves to empty the effective cross section of the separating chute in at least one position when the separating drum is rotating. The separating chute is formed by stepped wall sections, wherein at least one wall section of the separating chute is movably formed.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a separating drum which is improved over the prior art, is of simple design and can be operated and used in a wide variety of applications, and which is particularly suitable for use in injection molding machines.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a separating drum having the features of claim 1. The separating drum comprises a substantially cylindrical separating chassis rotatable about an axis. The plurality of replacement sections can be selectively connected to or disconnected from the split chassis without damage. Once the replacement section is secured to the split chassis, there is no relative movement between the replacement section and the split chassis. The opening for separating the different types of components, in particular for separating the injection-molded part and the cast part, is formed only by the replacement section. Thus eliminating the need to separate the adjustment mechanism of the chassis. In order to switch the separating drum from the first separating task to the second separating task, only the replacement section is replaced, which in a preferred embodiment can be carried out without tools. The replacement section has a very low weight compared to the separating chassis, which makes retrofitting of the separating drum easier compared to replacement of the complete drum.
The separating chassis which can be used for different separating tasks preferably has a polygonal cross section. For example, the split chassis is shown in cross-section as a polygon having at least six corners and at most sixteen corners, such as a dodecagon. The number of replacement sections preferably corresponds to the number of sides of the polygon. An embodiment that can be realized in principle is that the replacement sections are not fastened to each side of the polygonal separating chassis, so that the number of replacement sections is smaller than the number of sides of the polygon. In these cases, the remaining sides of the polygon can either be closed wall sections embodied in advance or can be closed by a cover, so that the remaining sides have no separating function.
The individual replacement sections preferably each have a longitudinally extending rectangular basic shape, wherein they are each intended to be supported on a strip-shaped wall section of the separating chassis having a longitudinally extending opening. The replacement section is preferably placed flat on the wall section outside the longitudinally extending opening, so that the replacement section does not cause hooking of the parts in the corresponding region. According to a possible embodiment, the replacement section is designed as a push-in section for fastening to the separating chassis, wherein the connection between the chassis and the push-in section can be established and released by a slight movement of the push-in section in the longitudinal direction of the chassis.
In order to establish and release a fixed connection between the separating chassis and the individual replacement section, different connection techniques are suitable, which either require the assistance of tools or are designed as tool-free mechanisms. For example, there are a lock portion of the magnet, a ball fixing portion, and a snap lock portion.
In contrast to the wall sections of the separating chassis, which in the preferred embodiment each have only a single longitudinally extending opening, it is preferred to have a plurality of openings, for example in the form of circular recesses, in any alternative section, in particular in the push-in section. The openings in the replacement section are arranged, for example, in a single row or in a plurality of rows parallel to the central axis of the separating chassis.
The advantage of the invention is, in particular, that the individual separating drum can remain in the separating device, in particular belonging to the injection molding machine, for a long time and for a plurality of alternative separating tasks. It is merely necessary to combine replacement sections of different sets, in particular in the form of push-in sections, which can be stored in a very small space and can be handled in a simple manner, with a separating chassis, i.e. a rotatable drum.
Drawings
Embodiments of the present invention are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In which is shown:
figure 1 shows the separator drum in an incompletely assembled state,
fig. 2 shows a push-in section suitable for use in the separating drum according to fig. 1.
Detailed Description
A separating drum, generally designated by reference numeral 1, is used to separate the cast parts and the conforming parts ejected from the injection molding machine. Reference is made to the prior art cited at the outset for the principle function of the separating drum 1. The separating drum 1 has a cylindrical basic shape and can rotate about its own longitudinal axis. The two connecting regions 2, 3 at the end sides of the separating drum 1 serve to embed the separating drum 1 in a peripheral structure, not shown. The connecting regions 2, 3 are connected via rings 4, 5 to a central drum region 6, which assumes a predetermined separating function.
The central drum region 6 is formed by strip-shaped wall sections 7, each of which has a longitudinally extending opening 8 extending approximately over the entire drum region 6. In the depicted exemplary embodiment, there are a total of twelve strip-shaped wall sections 7, which together form a dodecagon. The dodecagon basic shape of the separating drum 1 extends into the connecting regions 2, 3. The connecting regions 2, 3, the rings 4, 5 and the central drum region 6 together form a separate chassis 10 which is rigid in itself. If the compartment is of such a size that it cannot fall through the opening 8 into the strip-shaped wall section 7, the separating chassis 10 can be used as the separating drum 1. In practice, however, additional insertion sections 9 are often required, which are placed onto the respective strip-shaped wall section 7 and are fastened thereto. In the arrangement depicted in fig. 1, a single insertion section 9, generally referred to as a replacement section, is placed on one of the twelve strip-shaped wall sections 7 in total. In order to fulfill the function of the separating drum 1, the further eleven wall sections 7 can also be covered by a respective push-in section 9.
In fig. 2, a separate insertion section 9 is shown. The respective circular openings 11, which perform the desired separating function, are arranged within the insertion section 9 in a row parallel to the center axis, i.e. the axis of rotation, of the separating chassis 10. Depending on the separation task, multiple rows of openings 11 can also be provided in the insertion section 9.
Regardless of the number and arrangement of the openings 11, each push-in section 9 has a fastening contour 12 which corresponds to a mating contour on the side of the separating chassis 10 and enables a simple and at the same time stable mounting of the push-in section 9 on the separating chassis 10. In order to detach the insertion sections 9 from the separating chassis 10, each insertion section 9 is moved slightly in the longitudinal direction of the separating chassis 10 on the central drum region 6. According to a variant, the push-in section 9 is pushed from the end face of the separating chassis 10 through the slot-like openings in the rings 4, 5 in each case toward the central drum region 6 and fastened there. In this case, the push-in section 9 can be detached from the separating chassis 10 in a corresponding manner. In both cases, different groups of push-in sections 9 can be stored with little space requirement in the vicinity of the injection molding machine to which the separating drum 1 belongs.
