Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The body frame 2 of the motorcycle 1 includes a main frame 3 extending rearward of the vehicle body from the head pipe 44 and bent downward and having a center in the vehicle width direction. A pivot shaft 56 for pivotally supporting the swing arm 21 in a freely swingable manner is provided at the lower end portion of the main frame 3.
A steering rod, not shown, is rotatably supported by the head pipe 44, and a top beam 10 and a bottom beam 45 that support the pair of left and right front forks 16 are fixed to the upper and lower sides of the steering rod. A steering handle 5 having a handle bar 7 of a bilaterally symmetrical shape is fixed to the roof beam 10, and a pair of left and right mirrors 6 are attached to the steering handle 5. A front wheel WF is rotatably supported by a lower end portion of the front fork 16, and a front fender 15 covering an upper side of the front wheel WF is disposed at an intermediate position of the front fork 16.
A pair of left and right upper seat frames 28 and a pair of lower seat frames 29 are mounted on the upper rear portion of the main frame 3. A power unit P formed by integrating a single-cylinder four-stroke engine and a transmission is mounted on the lower portion of the main frame 3. Swing arm 21 pivotally supported on pivot shaft 56 so as to be swingable is suspended from lower seat frame 29 by a pair of right and left rear cushions 22.
The rotational driving force of the power unit P is transmitted to the rear wheel WR via a transmission chain, not shown, covered with the chain cover 20. A throttle body 48 including a throttle valve and a fuel injection device is attached to the rear surface side of the power unit P, and the combustion gas of the power unit P is guided to a muffler behind the vehicle body via an exhaust pipe 17. A front cover 8 for supporting the windshield 9 and the headlamps 12 is attached to the front of the head pipe 44. A pair of right and left front turn signal lamp devices 11 are disposed on the vehicle width direction outer side of the front cover 8, and a holding member 14 for supporting a front license plate 13 is attached to the lower end portion of the front cover 8.
A fuel tank 43 is disposed on the upper portion of the main frame 3. A pair of left and right side hoods 4 are attached to the fuel tank 43 at positions near the front, and a seat 54 having a front seat and a rear seat integrally formed is disposed behind the fuel tank 43. A pair of left and right side covers 55 that cover both sides in the vehicle width direction of an air cleaner box (not shown) connected to the rear of the throttle body 48 is disposed below the fuel tank 43. A rear cover 57 covering the upper seat frame 28 and the lower seat frame 29 is disposed behind the side cover 55.
A grab bar 27 is disposed at the rear upper portion of the rear cover 57, and a tail lamp 26 is attached to the rear end portion of the rear cover 57. A rear fender 24 for supporting the pair of right and left rear turn signal lamp devices 25 and the rear license plate 23 is fixed to a lower portion of the rear cover 57.
Fig. 2 is an enlarged front view of a part of the motorcycle 1. Fig. 3 is an enlarged left side view of a part of the motorcycle 1. A front wheel brake lever 31 is swingably attached to the steering handle 5 on the right side in the vehicle width direction, and a clutch lever 32 is swingably attached to the steering handle 5 on the left side in the vehicle width direction. The meter device 40 is disposed in front of the handle bar 7 constituting the steering handle 5 in the vehicle body and on the rear side of the windshield 9 in the vehicle body. The front license plate 13 is fixed to a holding member 14 attached to the lower portion of the front cover 8 by a fastening member 13 a.
Fig. 4 is a plan view showing a structure around the meter device 40 viewed from the driver's line of sight. The handle bar 7 constituting the steering handle 5 is fixed to the upper portion of the roof rail 10 via a clamp member 10 a. The roof rail 10 is fixed to the upper end of the front fork 16 at a position on the outside in the vehicle width direction, and is fixed to a steering rod, not shown, by a stem nut 37 at the center in the vehicle width direction toward the rear.
A front cover 8 covering the periphery of the headlight 12 is disposed in front of the roof rail 10 in the vehicle body. An inner cover 78 for supporting the meter device 40 is attached to the inside of the front cover 8, and a key cylinder 38 of an ignition switch is disposed behind the meter device 40.
Fig. 5 is a front view of the meter device 40. The meter device 40 is configured such that a cover member 60 (hatched portion) formed of a colored opaque resin or the like is attached to a display device provided with a display surface 74 for displaying various information on the vehicle. A selection switch 66 and a determination switch 67 for display items are disposed on the left and right sides of the cover member 60 in the vehicle width direction.
The display surface 74 is provided with a clock 70 of a segment display type, an odometer 71, an engine speed meter 72, a speedometer 73, a shift indicator 75, and a fuel gauge 76, and a pair of left and right turn blinkers 61, an oil warning lamp 62, an idle lamp 63, an engine warning lamp 64, and a high beam 65 are disposed at positions near the upper side. An ECO display unit 80 for displaying fuel efficiency information is provided at a position near the center and above the display surface 74 in the vehicle width direction.
In the meter device 40 of the present embodiment, the ECO display portion 80 is disposed at the center in the vehicle width direction and at a position close to the upper side in the front view of the display surface 74, and therefore, even in a motorcycle type saddle-ride type vehicle in which the distance from the driver to the meter device 40 is likely to increase, the ECO display portion 80 can be easily seen by slightly shifting the line of sight toward the front of the vehicle body downward during traveling. Thus, even if the line of sight is not changed greatly during traveling, the ECO display unit 80 can be easily checked, and the driving mode with low fuel consumption can be more easily observed.
In the present embodiment, a surrounding portion 90 is provided around the ECO display portion 80 to separate the region where the ECO display portion 80 is provided from other regions. This makes the ECO display portion 80 stand out, thereby improving the visibility of the ECO display portion 80. The enclosure portion 90 is formed of an upper frame 90a contacting the upper edge of the ECO display portion 80, a left frame 90b contacting the left edge of the ECO display portion 80, a right frame 90c contacting the right edge of the ECO display portion 80, and a lower frame 90d contacting the lower edge of the ECO display portion 80. The ECO display portion 80 is actually provided on the same plane as the display surface 74 on which the speedometer 73 and various warning lamps are provided, but by providing the surrounding portion 90, the ECO display portion 80 can be made visible independently of the other portions of the display surface 74.
The containment portion 90 is integrally formed with the cover member 60. In other words, the enclosure portion 90 is coupled to the cover member 60 in the upper frame 90 a. The ECO display unit 80 is configured such that the vehicle width direction dimension on the upper side is larger than the vehicle width direction dimension on the lower side in the front view of the display surface 74. Fig. 6 is a first display example of the ECO display section 80. The first display example is a mode in which the fuel consumption is small or the display range increases from the center left-right symmetrically as the fuel consumption measurement value increases. Fig. 11 shows a sixth display example of the ECO display unit 80. A sixth display example is a mode in which the fuel consumption measurement value is directly digitally displayed. In this example, the average fuel consumption measurement is shown on the left and the current instantaneous fuel consumption measurement is shown on the right. Even in the case of directly displaying the numerical value as described above, the ECO display unit 80 is disposed at a position near the center and upper side in the vehicle width direction of the display surface, and a specific fuel consumption measurement value can be seen only by slightly shifting the line of sight toward the front of the vehicle body during traveling.
