Fig. 6b illustrates a playing screen, which is the screen content input by the set-top box to the display device.
In some implementation scenarios, a display device supporting 4K resolution display accesses a high definition set top box. In these implementations, if the output resolution of the set-top box is not the best resolution to match the display device, it will result in a display that is not sharp.
In order to solve the above problem, the present application provides a display device, when a controller thereof detects that a signal is input to an HDMI channel connected to a set-top box, an output resolution of the set-top box is obtained from the input signal (i.e., an output signal of the set-top box), and is compared with a preset resolution threshold to determine whether the output resolution of the set-top box is an optimal resolution matching the display device.
In some possible implementation manners, the display device is turned on when accessing an HDMI channel of the set-top box, and after the communicator of the display device is connected to the internet, a resolution threshold preset by the server is obtained from the server, where the resolution threshold may be a value that matches the output resolution of the set-top box with the display performance of the display device. For example, when the display device supports image display of 4K resolution and the set-top box supports output of 4K and below resolution, the resolution threshold may be 4K.
In some embodiments, when the output resolution of the set-top box is less than a preset resolution threshold, an interface prompt is presented on the display indicating an adjustment to the output resolution. Therefore, the user can obtain the prompt of adjusting the output resolution of the set top box, and further can operate the set top box according to the requirement to adjust the output resolution.
Fig. 7 illustrates a user interface including the above-described interface prompt. As shown in fig. 7, the interface prompt 701 is displayed floating above the playback screen 702, and in order to avoid the interface prompt 701 obstructing the playback screen 702, the interface prompt 701 is displayed close to the top of the user interface view area.
In some embodiments, an item for triggering display of target operation information and/or an item for indicating to cancel the interface prompt are displayed in the interface prompt shown in fig. 7, where the target operation information is operation flow information for adjusting the output resolution.
For the sake of convenience of distinction, the present embodiment refers to an item for triggering display of the target operation information as a first item, and refers to an item for cancelling the interface prompt as a second item.
For example, the first item and the second item are non-operable items, and the user is prompted to enter an instruction indicating that the target operation information is displayed by pressing a key (e.g., a menu key) designated on the control device using the non-operable first item, and is prompted to enter an instruction indicating that the interface prompt is cancelled by pressing a key (e.g., a return key) designated on the control device using the non-operable second item. For example, as shown in fig. 7, the first item is "view operation details by pressing a menu key" displayed in the interface prompt 701, and the second item is "no more prompt by pressing a return key" displayed in the interface prompt 701.
As another example, the first item and the second item are operable items, and the user may operate the first item or the second item by operating the control device to input a corresponding instruction. For example, as shown in fig. 8, the first item is "view operation details" 7011 in the interface prompt 701, and the second item is "no more prompt" 7012 in the interface prompt 701.
As another example, the user may input the above instruction by inputting voice.
As can also be seen in fig. 7 and 8, the current output resolution of the set-top box may also be displayed in the interface prompt 701.
When the display displays an interface prompt as shown in fig. 7 or fig. 8, the user can input an instruction indicating to display target operation information by operating the control device, the controller receives the instruction, and in response to the instruction, presents a page including the target operation information on the display. The target operation information refers to operation flow information for adjusting the output resolution of the set top box. Specifically, the model of the connected set top box is obtained in advance; acquiring target operation information according to the model of the connected set top box; when the target operation information needs to be presented on the display, the pre-acquired target operation information is read and presented on the display.
Fig. 9 exemplarily shows a page including the target operation information, and as shown in fig. 9, the page specifically shows an operation flow for adjusting the output resolution of the set-top box, and further, the user can adjust the output resolution of the set-top box according to the shown operation flow.
In addition, since there may be differences in the operation flow of adjusting the output resolution of set-top boxes or smart boxes of different brands/models, in some embodiments, the page including the target operation information as shown in fig. 9 further includes a third item for triggering display of operation information corresponding to set-top boxes of different models, for example, the "go view" shown in fig. 10.
When the display displays the page as shown in fig. 10, the user may drop the selector into the third item and confirm by operating the control device to input an instruction indicating to display operation information corresponding to different models of set-top boxes. The controller receives the instruction and responds to the instruction to present the operation information corresponding to the set top boxes with different models on the display.
In some embodiments, the operation information corresponding to different models of set top boxes may be drawn into a picture file, and the picture file is displayed on the display to present the operation information corresponding to different models of set top boxes, for example, the picture shown in fig. 11.
It should be noted that the picture file containing the operation information corresponding to the set top boxes of different models is generated and updated by the server. In some possible implementation manners, the display device is turned on in an HDMI channel connected to the set-top box, and after the communicator of the display device is connected to the internet, the picture file or the picture file download address is obtained from the server. In addition, whether the picture file is updated or not can be judged by comparing the picture file download addresses acquired before and after the picture file is updated, when the picture file is judged to be updated, the picture file is downloaded again according to the download address acquired at the next time, and otherwise, the picture file does not need to be downloaded again.
As can be seen from the above examples, when a signal is input in an HDMI channel connected to a set top box, a controller obtains an output resolution of the set top box from the input signal (i.e., an output signal of the set top box), when the output resolution is smaller than a preset resolution threshold, an interface prompt indicating to adjust the output resolution is presented on a display, a first item capable of triggering display of target operation information is provided in the interface prompt, when an instruction indicating to display the target operation information is received, which is input according to the first item, a page including the target operation information is presented on the display, and then a user can adjust the output resolution of the set top box according to the prompt of the target operation information, so as to improve image quality.
In some embodiments, the set-top box may receive the compressed digital signal and user input; the set-top box analyzes the digital signals received by the set-top box to obtain output signals which can be input to the display device, and the output signals of the set-top box comprise the output resolution of the set-top box.
In some embodiments, the set-top box may also receive user input, such as a user entering operating instructions for the set-top box by operating a set-top box remote control. When the set-top box receives an instruction indicating to display a set-top box setting interface, a display signal of the set-top box setting interface is output to the display device in response to the instruction, so that the set-top box setting interface is displayed on a display of the display device.
In some embodiments, the set-top box settings interface includes an item for adjusting the output resolution of the set-top box; the user can input the operation of the item by operating the remote controller of the set top box; the set-top box then adjusts its output resolution in response to the operation.
Correspondingly, on the side of the display device, the controller receives a display signal of a set top box setting interface input by the set top box, and the set top box setting interface is presented on the display and at least comprises an item for adjusting the output resolution of the set top box.
The embodiment of the present application also provides a display method, which is applied to the display devices shown in fig. 1 to 11, but is not limited thereto. Fig. 12 is a flowchart of a display method exemplarily illustrated in the present application, and as shown in fig. 12, the method may include:
