Blow molding is divided into extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding.
Blow molding is used in plastic bottle production lines primarily for the production of thin-walled hollow plastic products, such as water or soda bottles, pipes, automobile bumpers and the like. Most thermoplastics include materials such as PET, PS, and PC that can be processed by blow molding, as well as glass. For the production of asymmetric parts, extrusion blow molding is commonly used. In a production line process, injection molding is performed on a parison that is then moved to a blow molding machine for injection blow molding.
The blow molding process of the existing production line comprises the following four standard steps:
1) the parison is mounted on the blow head of the machine and then placed in a mold, which is divided into two halves.
2) The hot air is blown through the blowing head to form a blank, which is expanded to the shape of the mold.
3) Cooling in the mold for a few seconds, cooling before demolding.
4) Removing additional material from both ends to complete the article.
The existing production line has the following defects: 1. before the blow molding step, a parison needs to be manufactured firstly, so that the production steps are increased, the equipment cost of a production line is increased, however, for plastic bottles with large bottle mouths and short bottle bodies, the plastic bottles can be directly blown into bottle shapes from plates without manufacturing the parison, and at present, equipment for direct blow molding from plate bodies is not found; 2. the parison needs to be placed in the mold before the blow molding process, and the structure of the mold becomes complicated and the production efficiency becomes low to achieve this step.
