Detailed Description
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiments, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. When the following description refers to the accompanying drawings, like numbers in different drawings represent the same or similar elements unless otherwise indicated. The implementations described in the exemplary embodiments below are not intended to represent all implementations consistent with the present disclosure. Rather, they are merely examples of apparatus and methods consistent with certain aspects of the present disclosure, as detailed in the appended claims.
Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram illustrating a display control method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The display control method shown in this embodiment may be applied to a display panel, where the display panel may be a liquid crystal display panel or an organic light emitting diode display panel, and the display panel includes a plurality of regions.
As shown in fig. 1, the display control method may include the steps of:
in step S1, detecting at least one target area of the plurality of areas, where the target area is displayed according to a preset display signal with a brightness different from a preset brightness;
in step S2, obtaining difference information between the brightness displayed by the target area according to a preset display signal and a preset brightness;
determining a target gamma curve among a plurality of gamma (gamma) curves associated with the target region according to the difference information in step S3;
in step S4, the target region is controlled to display an image according to the target gamma curve.
In one embodiment, a set of gamma curves may be configured for each region in the display panel, each region being associated with a set of gamma curves, each set of gamma curves including a plurality of gamma curves. The gamma curve is a curve representing the relationship between gray scale and brightness.
In one embodiment, the same display signal, for example, the same electrical signal such as current, voltage, etc., may be input to each pixel unit of the display panel, and ideally, the brightness displayed by all the regions according to the display signal is equal to the preset brightness, but due to some reason, the brightness displayed by some regions is different from the preset brightness.
According to the embodiment of the disclosure, the difference information between the brightness displayed by the target area according to the preset display signal and the preset brightness can be acquired, and then the target gamma curve is determined in the plurality of gamma curves associated with the target area according to the difference information, so as to display the image according to the target gamma curve. The brightness of the image displayed in the target area can be consistent with the ideal condition, so that the brightness uniformity of the image displayed on the whole display panel is ensured, and a good display effect is realized.
In one embodiment, the difference information may be a difference value or a ratio value.
Taking the difference information as an example, for example, the preset brightness is 100 nits, the brightness displayed in the area a is 80 nits, and the brightness displayed in the area B is 120 nits, then the difference information between the brightness displayed in the area a and the preset brightness is-20 nits, and the difference information between the brightness displayed in the area B and the preset brightness is 20 nits.
That is, based on the gray level corresponding to the received display signal, such as the gray level 127, the A region is according to the currently used gamma curve L1The output brightness is lower than the ideal brightness by 20 nits, and the B area is according to the current gamma curve D1The output brightness is 20 nits higher than ideal.
Wherein, the gamma curve associated with the A area is L1To LnN gamma curves in total, and the gamma curve associated with the B area is D1To DmThere are m gamma curves.
According to the difference information-20 nits between the brightness displayed in the area A and the preset brightness, the target gamma curve of the area A can be determined in the n gamma curves, so that the brightness output by the area A according to the target gamma curve when the gray scale is 127 is 20 nits higher than the brightness output by the area A according to the currently used gamma curve when the gray scale is 127, and when the area A receives the display signal corresponding to the gray scale of 127 again, the brightness which is 20 nits higher than the original brightness can be output. Therefore, the image is displayed according to the target gamma curve, the brightness displayed in the area A is as same as the ideal condition as possible, and the brightness deviation when the image is displayed in the area A is further reduced.
According to the difference information 20 nits between the brightness displayed in the B area and the preset brightness, the target gamma curve of the B area can be determined in the m gamma curves, so that the brightness output by the B area according to the target gamma curve when the gray scale is 127 is lower than the brightness output by the currently used gamma curve when the gray scale is 127 by 20 nits, and when the B area receives a display signal corresponding to 127 gray scale again, the brightness lower than the original brightness by 20 nits can be output. Therefore, the image is displayed according to the target gamma curve, the brightness displayed in the B area is as same as the ideal condition as possible, and the brightness deviation when the image is displayed in the B area is further reduced.
It should be noted that, according to the target gamma curve display image determined in this embodiment, the brightness deviation can be completely compensated when the gray scale is a certain value, but in practical cases, the number of the gamma curves associated with the target region is limited, and in the gamma curves associated with the target region, there is no gamma curve that can completely compensate the brightness deviation when the gray scale is a certain value, and then the gamma curve that makes the absolute value of the brightness deviation as small as possible can be determined as the target gamma curve.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating a determination of a target gamma curve among a plurality of gamma curves associated with the target region according to the difference information, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 2, the determining of the target gamma curve from the plurality of gamma curves associated with the target region according to the difference information includes:
in step S31, determining an adjustment coefficient based on the transmittance of the target region;
in step S32, adjusting the difference information according to the adjustment coefficient;
in step S33, a target gamma curve is determined among the plurality of gamma curves associated with the target region according to the adjusted difference information.
In one embodiment, since the transmittance of at least one region is different from the transmittance of the other regions, the different transmittances affect the visual effect of the user, and the effect of each transmittance on the visual effect of the user is different.
When the target gamma curve is determined according to the difference information, the transmittance of the target area can be determined, the adjustment coefficient is determined according to the transmittance, the difference information is adjusted according to the adjustment coefficient, and the target gamma curve is determined according to the adjusted difference information. Therefore, on the basis of fully considering the influence of the transmittance on the visual effect, the difference information is adjusted through the adjusting coefficient corresponding to the transmittance (for example, the difference information is multiplied by the adjusting coefficient), the target gamma curve is determined based on the adjusted difference information, the target area displays an image according to the target gamma curve, the displayed brightness can adapt to the transmittance of the target area, the user can sense the uniform brightness on the visual effect of watching, and good user experience is guaranteed.
The influence of the transmittance on the brightness and the transmittance may be in a positive correlation or a negative correlation, and may be determined according to the setting. Taking the positive correlation between the transmittance and the influence of the transmittance on the brightness as an example, the larger the transmittance is, the larger the adjustment coefficient is, that is, for two regions with the larger transmittance and the smaller transmittance, under the condition that the difference information is the same, the target function determined in the region with the larger transmittance compensates the brightness more when displaying the image.
In one embodiment, the difference information includes at least one of:
difference and ratio.
In one embodiment, the display panel is suitable for a terminal, and the method is implemented by a driving chip in the display panel, or by a digital signal processing chip in the terminal, or by an application processor of the terminal.
