The present disclosure provides a method for performing decoding rate adaptation in a payment device, receiving actual transmission capability information of a cloud management platform adapted for payment device management; and allocating the decoding rate of the payment equipment according to the actual transmission capacity information and the decoding rate of the payment equipment, which is sent and decoded by the cloud management platform. The method can safely, quickly and efficiently finish the account checking operation of the merchant, ensure the accuracy of the account checking result, reduce the labor cost required in the account checking operation, and has the usability and feasibility of the operation.
