本发明涉及一种用于制备由钢或铸钢组成的活塞环的方法。
在由钢或铸钢形成的活塞环处可以通过热处理过程在氮气氛下产生耐磨的氮化层,由于工艺而造成所述氮化层出现在活塞环的所有自由表面处。与具有铬化工作面的未氮化的钢或铸钢基础材料相比,后续铬化的经氮化表面且尤其经氮化边缘被评价为对断裂和撕裂更敏感。
DE 10 2006 003 480 B3公开了一种活塞环,所述活塞环具有工作面、上侧壁、下侧壁以及内周向面,其中上侧壁至少部分朝向内周向面梯形地变窄并且下侧壁设置有通过氮化产生的表面层,设计为使得上侧壁的梯形区域形成为无氮化层,其中通过匹配氮化层厚度产生了在工作状态下一定程度的扭转。在设置有氮化层的工作面上施加耐磨损的工作面涂层,所述涂层通过电镀、化学或物理沉积产生。

通过本发明的方法,即通过在工作面与相应的侧壁区之间形成无氮化层的过渡区,产生了在这些区域中对断裂和撕裂不敏感的活塞环。
电镀施加的第一铬层有利地形成为具有最大15μm的层厚度。在削除工作面上的这个层之后,从现在无覆层的工作面向相应侧壁区的过渡区中的层保持不变。

在第一制造步骤(图5)中,用具有10μm的层厚度的第一铬层10来覆盖工作面4以及从工作面4到相应侧壁区6、7的过渡区8、9。
在第二制造步骤中,仅在工作面4的区域中通过适当的工具将铬层10削除到基体1'的基础材料(图6),使得仅在过渡区8、9中保留原始的铬层10。
从图7可以看出,基体1'的工作面4设置有厚度为10μm的氮化层11,其中过渡区8、9及仍然位于其上的铬层10保持没有氮化层。
图8示出最终的制造步骤,即,向工作面4及氮化层11以及在过渡区8、9中设置的铬层部分上电镀沉积具有15μm的层厚度的另一个铬层12。
如此制成的活塞环可以用作压缩活塞环,例如在内燃机领域中。通过尤其在工作面4向相应侧壁区6、7的过渡区8、9中的针对性的层构造,可以避免在工作状态下在这些过渡区8、9中的断裂和撕裂。
在图8中还显示,侧壁区6、7以及内周向面5设置有额外的环绕的氮化层13,其中氮化层13在进入相应的过渡区8、9之前终止。

Claims (6)

1.用于制备由钢或铸钢组成的活塞环(1,2,3)的方法,通过如下进行:提供基体(1',2',3'),所述基体包含工作面(4)、内周向面(5)、上侧壁区(6)和下侧壁区(7)以及所述工作面(4)向相应的侧壁区(6,7)中的过渡区(8,9),用第一铬层(10)覆盖所述工作面(4)、包括所述过渡区(8,9),将所述第一铬层(10)在所述工作面(4)的区域中削除至所述基体(1',2',3')的基础材料,至少使无覆层的基体(1',2',3')的工作面(4)设置有氮化层(11)并且最终用至少一个另外的铬层(12)覆盖所述工作面(4)以及所述过渡区(8,9),其中所述第一铬层(10)以最大15μm的层厚度形成,所述氮化层(11)具有>0至30μm的层厚度。
