Description

User route updating method and device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of wireless communications technologies, and in particular, to a user routing update method and device.
Background
At present, SUPI (Subscription persistent Identifier) in a 5G system is not transmitted over an air interface, and an initial registration request message for interaction between a UE (User Equipment) and a network employs sui (Subscription conditional Identifier), where sui is encrypted SUPI, and both sui and SUPI are used to identify a User. In the Authentication process, the AUSF (Authentication Unit selection Function) entity returns SUPI to the Access and mobility management Function (Access and mobility management Function) entity, in the subsequent flow, the UE is identified by using SUPI inside the 5G core network, for example, the access and mobility Management Function entity selects a Unified Data Management Function (Unified Data Management Function) entity according to SUPI, the session Management Function (session Management Function) entity selects a Unified Data Management Function entity according to SUPI, and at the air interface, the UE is identified by using Temporary Identifier (5G-GUTI (5G global uniform Temporary Identifier, 5G user global Unique Temporary Identifier)) or 5G-S-TMSI (5G-5G S-Temporary Mobile subscriber Identifier)). The SUCI includes a routing field for routing the UE to a corresponding unified data management function entity, and particularly, when a large operator has a plurality of sub-unified data management function entities, the unified data management function entity is often determined by routing assistance.
At present, according to the needs of operators, there is a scenario that a user database of a part of users needs to be moved from an accessed unified data management function entity to another unified data management function entity. Therefore, how to implement automatic updating of user routing becomes an urgent problem to be solved.

the user equipment determines SUCI containing the updated routing information according to the updated routing information; and the user equipment initiates an initial registration process through the SUCI containing the updated routing information.
When the method provided by the embodiment of the invention is adopted, the unified data management functional entity needs to send the updated routing information to the user equipment through the first information.
It should be noted that, in the process of initiating initial registration, the user equipment in the embodiment of the present invention adopts the sui containing the updated routing information; in addition, the initial registration process performed by the user equipment using the sui including the updated routing information is the same as the initial registration process initiated by the user equipment in the prior art, and is not described in detail herein.
The user route updating method provided by the embodiment of the invention is suitable for updating the user route in the registration process of the user equipment, and is also suitable for updating the user route after the registration of the user equipment is finished, and the following description is respectively combined with different processes.
Firstly, user routing updating is carried out in the registration process of user equipment.
With reference to fig. 3, a flow of performing user route update in a user equipment registration process according to an embodiment of the present invention is described.
The unified data management functional entity selected by the authentication service functional entity before the route is updated is assumed to be a first unified data management functional entity, and the unified data management functional entity accessed by the user equipment after the route is updated is assumed to be a second unified data management functional entity.
Step 301, user equipment initiates an initial registration request; wherein, the user identifier carried in the initial registration request is SUCI.
Step 302, the access and mobility management functional entity selects a proper authentication service functional entity according to the PLMN (Public Land mobile network) and the routing information in the SUCI.
Step 303, the network side authenticates the user, in the authentication and authorization process, the authentication service functional entity selects a proper unified data management functional entity according to the PLMN and routing information in the SUCI, and after the authentication process is completed, the authentication service functional entity returns the SUPI information of the user to the access and mobility management functional entity. The access and mobility management functions establish a 5GMM context for the user equipment indexed by SUPI.
And step 304, the access and mobility management functional entity and the first unified data management functional entity complete user registration, acquire subscription data for user subscription and other operations according to the SUPI information, and update the 5GMM context of the UE.
Step 305, the first unified data management functional entity determines that the route of the user equipment needs to be updated, and the first unified data management functional entity sends first information for notifying the user equipment of triggering the route update to the access and mobility management functional entity;
it should be noted that, after the first unified data management functional entity sends the first information to the access and mobility management functional entity, the access and mobility management functional entity needs to forward the first information to the user equipment.
Step 306, the access and mobility management functional entity allocates 5G-GUTI for the user equipment, stores the relevant information in the 5GMM context of the UE, and sends a registration acceptance message containing the 5G-GUTI and the first information to the UE to complete the registration process;
the first information includes updated routing information, an indication indicating whether a response of the user equipment is required, and an indication indicating that the user equipment is required to initiate a de-registration and a registration process.
Step 307, the user equipment initiates a de-registration process after receiving a registration acceptance message containing the first information;
specifically, the information associated with the first unified data management function entity before updating is deleted from the core network of the user equipment; e.g. 5GMM context, 5GSM context of the user equipment.
Step 308, the user equipment initiates an initial registration process by using the SUCI containing the updated routing information, and establishes a 5GMM context associated with the second unified data management function entity;
it should be noted that, when the user equipment needs to establish a session, a corresponding session is established for the user equipment and associated with the second unified data management function entity.
And secondly, updating the user route after the user equipment completes registration.
With reference to fig. 4, a flow of updating a user route after the user equipment completes registration according to an embodiment of the present invention is described.
The unified data management function entity accessed by the user equipment before route updating is assumed to be a first unified data management function entity, and the unified data management function entity accessed by the user equipment after route updating is assumed to be a second unified data management function entity.
Step 401, the first unified data management functional entity sends first information for notifying the user equipment to trigger the routing update to the access and mobility management functional entity;
after determining a unified data management functional entity which needs to update the user equipment access, the first unified data management functional entity sends the first information to the access and mobility management functional entity; for example, if an operator needs to move a user database of the user equipment, the first unified data management functional entity sends the first information for notifying the user equipment of triggering the routing update to the access and mobility management functional entity.
Step 402, the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the first information to the user equipment;
specifically, the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the first information to the user equipment in a NAS transport message manner;
the first information includes updated routing information, an indication indicating whether a response of the user equipment is required, and an indication indicating that the user equipment is required to initiate a de-registration and a registration process.
Step 403, the user equipment records the updated routing information and returns a response message to the access and mobility management functional entity;
when the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the first information to the user equipment in a DL NAS transport message mode, the user equipment returns a response to the access and mobility management functional entity through UL NAS transport.
Step 404, the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the response message returned by the user equipment to the first unified data management functional entity.
Step 405, the user equipment initiates a de-registration process;
specifically, the user equipment initiates a de-registration process, wherein the de-registration process carries 5G-GUTI, the access and mobility management functional entity finds out the context and the related information related to the user equipment through the 5G-GUTI, further, the access and mobility management functional entity deletes the information related to the user equipment and the first uniform data management functional entity before updating, and if the user equipment already establishes a session, the access and mobility management functional entity triggers the related session management functional entity recorded in the context thereof to delete the information related to the user equipment. I.e. the relevant information of the user equipment in the core network is deleted, including for example the 5GMM context, 5GSM context of the user equipment.
Step 406, the user equipment initiates an initial registration process by using the SUCI containing the updated routing information, and establishes a 5GMM context associated with the second unified data management function entity;
it should be noted that, when the user equipment needs to establish a session, a corresponding session is established for the user equipment and associated with the second unified data management function entity.

Optionally, the first information includes part or all of the following information:
updated routing information, an indication indicating whether a user equipment response is required, an indication indicating that a user equipment initiation of a de-registration and registration procedure is required.
As shown in fig. 11, a second user route updating system according to the embodiment of the present invention includes: user equipment 110, an access and mobility management function entity 111 and a unified data management function entity 112.
A unified data management function entity 112, configured to send, to the ue through an access and mobility management function entity, first information for notifying the ue to trigger a routing update, so that the ue initiates a registration update procedure after receiving the first information;
the user equipment 110 is configured to receive first information, which is sent by a unified data management functional entity through an access and mobility management functional entity and used for notifying the user equipment of route update; after receiving the first information, sending a registration updating request containing a first route updating indication to the access and mobility management functional entity, so that the access and mobility management functional entity performs unified data management functional entity selection after receiving the first route updating indication;
and the access and mobility management functional entity 111 is configured to receive a registration update request including a first route update instruction sent by the user equipment, and perform unified data management functional entity selection.
The unified data management functional entity sends first information to the access and mobility management functional entity after determining that the routing of the user equipment needs to be updated, and the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the first information to the user equipment after receiving the first information.
It should be noted that, in the embodiment of the present invention, the UE route update may also be referred to as a route update on the UE side, and the core network may also be referred to as a route update, and may also be referred to as a change of a unified data management function entity, where both the route update and the change of the unified data management function entity may indicate that a unified data management function entity accessed by the UE changes.
Specifically, when initiating a registration update operation, the user equipment in the embodiment of the present invention sends a registration update request including a first route update instruction to an access and mobility management functional entity; the first route updating indication is used for triggering the access and mobility management functional entity to select the unified data management functional entity.
Optionally, the first route update instruction is used to trigger the access and mobility management functional entity to perform unified data management functional entity selection and further perform route update when receiving the registration update request.
In an implementation, the first routing update indication information may be represented in the registration update request in the form of:
1. represented by an extended registration type.
Adding a registration type on the basis of the existing registration type, specifically adding a registration type of 'update parameter registration update'; when the registration type in the registration request message is an update parameter type, because various parameters capable of being updated exist; therefore, when this representation is adopted, it is also necessary to carry an indication that the updated parameter is a route in the registration update request.
For example, the existing registration types include an initial registration type, a mobile registration update type, a periodic registration update type, and an emergency registration type; expanding the registration type of 'updating parameter registration updating' on the basis of the existing registration type; as shown in fig. 12, three bits are used to indicate the registration type, where 000 indicates an initial registration type, 010 indicates a mobile registration update type, 011 indicates a periodic registration update type, 100 indicates an emergency registration type, and 111 indicates an update parameter registration update type.
When the bit indicating the registration type is 111, indicating that the current registration update request is used for updating the parameter; when the updated parameter carried in the registration update request is the indication of the route, the access and mobility management functional entity can determine that the registration update request is used for route update.
2. The first route updating indication information is represented by a specific parameter;
specifically, a specific parameter is carried in the registration update request, and when the registration update request includes the specific parameter, the registration update request is used for route update.
And after receiving a registration updating request which is sent by user equipment and contains a first route updating instruction, the access and mobility management functional entity selects the unified data management functional entity.
Specifically, the access and mobility management functional entity performs unified data management functional entity selection according to the SUPI corresponding to the user equipment.
In the embodiment of the invention, the access and mobility management functional entity records a unified data management functional entity accessed by user equipment before route updating, after the access and mobility management functional entity selects the unified data management functional entity according to SUPI, the recorded unified data management functional entity and the selected target unified data management functional entity are compared, and if the recorded unified data management functional entity is different from the target unified data management functional entity, the access and mobility management function determines that the accessed unified data management functional entity is changed.
It should be noted here that, after the unified data management function entity determines that the routing update of the user equipment needs to be triggered, the configuration parameters of the user equipment may be modified through the background, assuming that the user equipment is accessed to the first unified data management function entity before the routing update, and after determining that the routing update of the user equipment needs to be triggered, the unified data management function entity accessed by the user equipment may be modified to the second unified data management function entity; then, after receiving the registration update request sent by the ue, the access and mobility management functional entity determines that the unified data management functional entity accessed by the ue changes according to the unified data management functional entity selected by the SUPI of the ue as the second unified data management functional entity.
Optionally, after determining that the unified data management functional entity changes, the access and mobility management functional entity disassociates from the unified data management functional entity accessed before updating.
In implementation, the access and mobility management functional entities disassociate from the unified data management functional entity accessed before updating through a specific de-registration procedure or de-subscription procedure.
Optionally, the access and mobility management functional entity determines a target unified data management functional entity accessed by the updated user equipment according to the SUPI of the user equipment, and associates the target unified data management functional entity with the target unified data management function;
in implementation, the access and mobility management function entity is associated with the target unified data management function through a specific registration flow or a subscription flow, and because the access and mobility management function has context information related to the user equipment, association with the target unified data management function can be completed only by updating the binding between the access and mobility management function and the target unified data management function without acquiring the subscription data of the user equipment from the unified data management function. The access and mobility management functions may also, according to the registration procedure, retrieve subscription data for the user equipment from the target unified data management function and complete the associated subscription.
It should be noted that, after the access and mobility management functional entity is associated with the target unified data management functional entity, the access and mobility management functional entity changes the recorded unified data management functional entity into the target unified data management functional entity.
When route updating occurs after the user equipment establishes a session, after the access and mobility management functional entity and the unified data management functional entity accessed before updating are disassociated and associated to the target unified data management functional entity, the access and mobility management functional entity also needs to inform the session management functional entity of the user equipment route updating;
optionally, the access and mobility management functional entity sends a second route update instruction to the session management functional entity, so that the session management functional entity determines, after receiving the second route update instruction, a target unified data management functional entity to which the user equipment is accessed after route update, and disassociates from the unified data management functional entity accessed before update and from the selected target unified data management functional entity.
In implementation, the access and mobility management functional entity determines an associated session management functional entity according to the 5GMM context information of the user equipment, and sends a second route updating indication to the session management functional entity; wherein the second route update indication is for representing a route update of the user equipment;
correspondingly, after receiving the second route updating instruction, the session management functional entity selects a target unified data management functional entity according to the SUPI of the user equipment; comparing the recorded unified data management functional entity with the target unified data management functional entity, and determining that the unified data management function changes when the recorded unified data management functional entity is different from the target unified data management functional entity;
the second route updating instruction received by the session management functional entity may further include target unified data management function related information, and the session management functional entity may directly determine the target unified data management functional entity to which the updated user equipment is accessed according to the second route updating instruction; comparing the recorded unified data management functional entity with the target unified data management functional entity, and determining that the unified data management functional entity changes when the recorded unified data management functional entity is different from the target unified data management functional entity; the related information of the target unified data management function entity can be an IP address or identification information of the target unified data management function entity selected by the access and mobility management function entities.
And after determining that the unified data management function is changed, the session management function entity releases the association with the unified data management function entity accessed before updating and associates the unified data management function entity with the selected target unified data management function entity. In implementation, the session management functional entity disassociates from the unified data management functional entity accessed before updating through a specific de-registration flow or a de-subscription flow, the session management functional entity associates to the target unified data management functional entity through a specific registration flow or a subscription flow, and because the session management functional entity already has context information related to the user equipment, the association with the target unified data management functional entity can be completed only by binding the update access and mobility management functional entity and the target unified data management functional entity without acquiring the subscription data of the user equipment from the unified data management functional entity again. The session management functional entity may also perform processing according to the registration procedure, specifically including re-acquiring the subscription data of the user equipment from the target unified data management functional entity and completing the related subscription.
It should be noted that, after the session management functional entity is associated with the target unified data management functional entity, the session management functional entity changes the recorded unified data management functional entity into the target unified data management functional entity.
13, a flow of performing user route update in a user equipment registration process according to an embodiment of the present invention is described.
Assuming that the unified data management function entity selected by the authentication service function entity before the route is updated is a first unified data management function entity, and the target unified data management function entity accessed by the user equipment after the route is updated is a second unified data management function entity.
Step 1301, the user equipment initiates an initial registration request; wherein, the user identifier carried in the initial registration request is SUCI.
Step 1302, the access and mobility management functional entity selects a suitable authentication service functional entity according to a PLMN (Public Land mobile network) in the suii and the routing information.
Step 1303, the network side authenticates the user, in the authentication and authorization process, the authentication service functional entity selects a proper unified data management functional entity according to the PLMN and routing information in the SUCI, and after the authentication process is completed, the authentication service functional entity returns the SUPI information of the user to the access and mobility management functional entity. The access and mobility management functions establish a 5GMM context for the UE indexed by SUPI.
And step 1304, the access and mobility management functional entity and the first unified data management functional entity complete user registration, acquire subscription data for user subscription and other operations according to the SUPI information, and update the 5GMM context of the UE.
Step 1305, the first unified data management functional entity determines that the route of the user equipment needs to be updated, and the first unified data management functional entity sends second information for notifying the user equipment of triggering the route update to the access and mobility management functional entity;
it should be noted that, after the first unified data management functional entity sends the second information to the access and mobility management functional entity, the access and mobility management functional entity needs to forward the second information to the user equipment.
Step 1306, the access and mobility management functional entity allocates 5G-GUTI to the UE, stores the relevant information in the 5GMM context of the UE, and sends a registration accept message containing the 5G-GUTI and the second information to the UE, thereby completing the registration procedure.
Step 1307, after receiving the registration acceptance message containing the second information, the user equipment sends a registration update request containing the first route update indication to the access and mobility management functional entity;
the first route update indication may be through a separate parameter or included in another parameter, and its purpose is to trigger the access and mobility management functional entity to trigger the unified data management functional entity to select after receiving the registration request. For example, the registration update type of parameter update can be increased by expanding the registration type, and the indication that the update parameter is the route is carried; or directly carry a parameter to indicate the registration update to be used for route update, etc. The updated route may also be carried in the indication information.
Step 1308, the access and mobility management functional entity selects a unified data management functional entity and determines that the unified data management function changes;
specifically, the access and mobility management functional entity selects according to the SUPI of the user equipment, and selects a second unified data management functional entity; and if the access and mobility management functional entity determines that the recorded first unified data management functional entity is different from the selected second unified data management functional entity, the access and mobility management functional entity determines that the unified data management functional entity is changed.
If the unified data management functional entity is not changed after the access and mobility management functional entity judges, the subsequent steps are ignored, namely, the association with the first unified data management functional entity and the processing associated to the second unified data management functional entity are not needed to be contacted.
Step 1309, the access and mobility management functional entity disassociates from the first unified data management functional entity according to the recorded first unified data management functional entity.
Step 1310, the access and mobility management function entity is associated to a second unified data management function entity and the recorded unified data management function entity is changed to the second unified data management function entity.
It should be noted that, when the user equipment needs to establish a session, a corresponding session is established for the user equipment and associated with the second unified data management function entity.
And secondly, updating the user route after the user equipment completes registration.
With reference to fig. 14, a flow of performing a user route update after the user equipment completes registration according to an embodiment of the present invention is described.
Assuming that the unified data management function entity selected by the authentication service function entity before the route is updated is a first unified data management function entity, and the target unified data management function entity accessed by the user equipment after the route is updated is a second unified data management function entity.
1401, the first unified data management function entity sends second information for notifying the user equipment to trigger the routing update to the access and mobility management function entity;
after determining the unified data management functional entity which needs to update the user equipment access, the first unified data management functional entity sends the second information to the access and mobility management functional entity; for example, if the operator needs to move the user database of the user equipment, the first unified data management functional entity sends the second information for notifying the user equipment of triggering the routing update to the access and mobility management functional entity.
Step 1402, the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the second information to the user equipment;
specifically, the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the second information to the user equipment in a NAS transport message manner;
alternatively, the access and mobility management functions may also forward the second information to the user equipment OTA.
Step 1403, the user equipment records the updated routing information and returns a response message to the access and mobility management functional entity;
and when the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the second information to the user equipment in an NAS transport message mode, the user equipment returns a response to the access and mobility management functional entity through the NAS transport.
Step 1404, the access and mobility management functional entity forwards the response message returned by the user equipment to the first unified data management functional entity.
Step 1405, the access and mobility management functional entity sends a registration update request containing the first route update indication to the access and mobility management functional entity;
the first route update indication may be through a separate parameter or included in another parameter, and its purpose is to trigger the access and mobility management functional entity to trigger the unified data management functional entity to select after receiving the registration request. For example, the registration update type of parameter update can be increased by expanding the registration type, and the indication that the update parameter is the route is carried; or directly carry a parameter to indicate the registration update to be used for route update, etc. The updated route may also be carried in the indication information.
Step 1406, the access and mobility management functional entity selects the unified data management functional entity and determines that the unified data management functional entity changes;
specifically, the access and mobility management functional entity selects according to the SUPI of the user equipment, and selects a second unified data management functional entity; and if the access and mobility management functional entity determines that the recorded first unified data management functional entity is different from the selected second unified data management functional entity, the access and mobility management functional entity determines that the unified data management functional entity is changed.
If the unified data management functional entity is not changed after the access and mobility management functional entity judges, the subsequent steps are ignored, namely, the association with the first unified data management functional entity and the processing associated to the second unified data management functional entity are not required to be contacted, and the routing updating processing of the session management functional entity is not required to be initiated.
Step 1407, the access and mobility management functional entity disassociates from the first unified data management functional entity according to the recorded first unified data management functional entity.
Step 1408, the access and mobility management function entity is associated to the second unified data management function entity and the recorded unified data management function entity is changed to the second unified data management function entity.
Step 1409, the access and mobility management functional entity determines the associated session management functional entity according to the 5GMM context information of the user equipment, and sends a second route update instruction to the session management functional entity;
wherein the second route update indication is used to represent a route update of the user equipment.
Step 1410, after receiving the second route updating instruction, the session management functional entity determines a target unified data management functional entity of the user equipment;
the determination of the target unified data management function entity may be that the session management function entity triggers selection according to the SUPI after receiving the second route update indication, or that the access and mobility management function entity notifies the session management function entity.
Step 1411, the session management functional entity determines that the unified data management function changes, and the session management functional entity releases the association with the first unified data management functional entity;
the session management functional entity compares the recorded first uniform data management functional entity with the selected second uniform data management functional entity according to the determined target uniform data management function, namely the second uniform data management functional entity, and determines that the uniform data management function changes;
and the session management functional entity disassociates the unified data management functional entity accessed before updating through a specific de-registration process or a de-subscription process.
And step 1412, the session management function entity is associated to the second unified data management function entity, and the recorded unified data management function entity is changed into the second unified data management function entity.
The session management functional entity is associated to the target unified data management function through a specific registration flow or subscription flow, and because the session management functional entity already has context information related to the user equipment, the association with the target unified data management functional entity can be realized without acquiring the subscription data of the user equipment from the source unified data management functional entity again, and only the access and mobility management functional entity and the target unified data management functional entity are updated to be bound to complete the subscription to the target unified data management functional entity. The session management functional entity may also perform processing according to the registration procedure, including re-acquiring the subscription data of the user equipment from the target unified data management functional entity and completing the related subscription.
