The technical scheme of the invention will be described in detail by a specific embodiment in combination with the network equipment from the point of view of the terminal equipment.
Example 1
Referring to fig. 1, fig. 1 is a flow chart of a method for reducing power consumption of a terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 1, the method for reducing power consumption of a terminal device may include:
101. and when the terminal equipment establishes Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection with the network equipment, acquiring a target reason for establishing the RRC connection.
When the terminal device uses a network (such as information transmission, network voice call, etc.), the terminal device needs to complete data interaction with the network device. For example, the embodiment of the invention can be applied to a radio access network, wherein the radio access network comprises at least one network device, and the network device can correspond to one cell and only provide service for the corresponding cell. The terminal equipment resides in a certain cell and needs to complete data interaction with the network equipment serving the resident cell.
As an alternative implementation manner, when the terminal device needs to perform data interaction with the network device, an RRC connection establishment request is sent to the network device, and a message returned by the network device to agree to establish an RRC connection is received, so as to establish the RRC connection between the terminal device and the network device.
Further, after obtaining a message returned by the network device and agreeing to establish the RRC connection, the terminal device completes the establishment of the RRC connection between the terminal device and the network device, and simultaneously obtains a target reason for establishing the RRC connection. It will be appreciated that the reasons for establishing an RRC connection include signaling, voice calls, video calls, short message transmissions, etc.
As an alternative implementation manner, when the target cause is not the first specific cause, the terminal device will start the first timer when establishing the RRC connection, where the first timer may be used to calculate the time given in the network protocol for releasing the RRC connection, for example, it may take 10 seconds for the general network to release the RRC connection after establishing the RRC connection, so in the embodiment of the present invention, the first timer may be set for a similar time, and the timing value of the first timer may be set correspondingly, for example, N2 seconds, for example, N2 may take a value of 10.
102. The terminal device starts a first timing when the target cause is not a first specific cause, wherein the first specific cause is indicated to be used for realizing the voice call or the video call, and the second specific cause is indicated to be used for transmitting signaling.
It will be appreciated that when the terminal device needs to communicate with voice or video, it needs to keep the RRC connection in a connected state for a long time, and this may not be used as special processing.
Wherein, starting the first item of timing may be to start a third timer, and set a timing value of the third timer, and set the timing value of the third timer to a first preset value.
As an alternative implementation manner, if the target is for a second specific reason, a second timer is started when receiving a TAU accept message or an attach accept message (such as an attach/TAU accept message) sent by the network device; and performing the step of transmitting an RRC connection release request to the network device when the timing value of the second timer satisfies the timing value of the second timer. In this embodiment, for establishing an RRC connection for signaling, after receiving a tracking area update accept message or an attach accept message sent by a network device, a corresponding timer is set for timing release of the RRC connection, so as to increase a standby duration of the terminal device. Wherein the timing value of the second timer is smaller than the timing value of the first timer.
The timing value is set corresponding to the timer and is used for triggering a corresponding event, for example, the timing value of the first timer is N1, for example, N1 is 10 seconds, that is, after the first timer is started to count, if the timing value of the first timer meets 10 seconds, that is, reaches the timing value, the corresponding event is triggered, in this embodiment, the event that triggers the terminal device to release the RRC link is triggered, so as to reduce power consumption of the terminal device and improve the service duration.
103. And the terminal equipment sends an RRC connection release request to the network equipment when the timing value of the first timing meets a first preset value.
As an optional implementation manner, when the timing value of the first timing meets the first preset value, the terminal device further monitors the data traffic of the RRC connection, if no data traffic is monitored on the RRC connection or no data traffic is monitored on the RRC connection within a preset duration, an RRC connection release request is sent to the network device.
Further, in order to meet the transmission reliability requirement of the service, the terminal device may be connected with at least two network devices simultaneously, that is, the terminal device establishes an RRC connection with the first network device and the terminal device establishes an RRC connection with the second network device, where the RRC connection established by the terminal device and the first network device is a primary RRC connection, and the RRC connection established by the terminal device and the second network device is a standby RRC connection, where the standby RRC connection is used to perform data interaction by adopting the standby RRC connection when the primary RRC connection fails, so as to improve transmission reliability. Because the terminal device establishes the RRC connection with the first network device and the second network device at the same time, the first timer is used for simultaneously counting the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection, and when the count value of the first timer meets a first preset value, the terminal device monitors whether there is data traffic on the primary RRC connection, if not, further monitors whether there is data traffic on the standby RRC connection, and when there is no data traffic on the standby RRC connection, sends an RRC connection release request to the network device. In this embodiment, when the primary RRC connection fails and data exchange is performed using the backup RRC connection, the failure of the primary RRC connection can be detected in time, and the RRC connection can be released in time. If the primary RRC connection and the backup RRC connection are established at the same time, the primary RRC connection and the backup RRC connection need to be released at the same time after the RRC connection release message is received.
As another alternative embodiment, if there is a primary RRC connection and a standby RRC connection, the first timer is used to time the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection at the same time, and when the timer value of the first timer satisfies the preset value, the terminal device monitors whether there is no data traffic in both the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection, and when there is no data traffic in both the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection, sends an RRC connection release request to the network device.
104. And the terminal equipment receives the RRC connection release message returned by the network equipment aiming at the RRC connection release request.
The terminal device may send an ESR message to the network device to request release of the RRC connection, or send the RRC connection release request to the terminal device with the ESR message.
As an optional implementation manner, after the terminal device sends the RRC connection release request to the network device, a value of a local register is set to 1, so as to be used for marking that the terminal device actively initiates the RRC connection release request to the network device, if the value of the register is 0, it is indicated that the terminal device does not actively initiate the RRC connection release request to the network device, and then the network device controls release of the RRC connection.
Correspondingly, after receiving the RRC connection release message, the terminal device further detects the value of the register, if the value is 1, it indicates that the RRC connection release message is returned by the RRC connection release request actively initiated by the corresponding terminal device, step 105 is executed, and other contents in the RRC connection release message may be ignored, and only the RRC connection is released, where other contents are redirected to the 2G or 3G network for communication, otherwise, it indicates that the received RRC connection release message is actively sent by the network device and redirected to the 2G or 3G network for communication.
105. And the terminal equipment releases the RRC connection according to the RRC connection release message.
If the first timing is implemented by using the third timer, after the RRC connection is released, the timing of the third timer is stopped and a clear operation is performed on the third timer.
By implementing the above embodiment, when the RRC connection is established between the terminal device and the network device, by analyzing the reason for establishing the RRC connection, if the reason is not the first specific reason for implementing the voice call or the video call, the first timing is started, if the timing value of the first timing meets the first preset value, the RRC connection release request is actively sent to the network device to request the network device to send the RRC connection release message to release the RRC connection.
Example two
Referring to fig. 2, fig. 2 is a flowchart of a method for reducing power consumption of a terminal device according to another embodiment of the present invention; in this embodiment, taking the first term of timing implemented by the third timer and the second term of timing implemented by the second timer as an example, as shown in fig. 2, the method for reducing power consumption of the terminal device may include:
201. when the terminal equipment establishes the RRC connection with the network equipment, the terminal equipment acquires the target reason for establishing the RRC connection.
As an alternative embodiment, the terminal device sends an RRC connection establishment request to the first network device, and also sends an RRC connection establishment request to the second network device, a primary RRC connection is established between the terminal device and the first network device, and a standby RRC connection is established between the terminal device and the second network device. In the process of data interaction between the terminal equipment and the network equipment, the terminal equipment performs data interaction through the main RRC connection, performs fault monitoring on the main RRC connection, and when the main RRC connection is monitored to be faulty, the terminal equipment sends a link modification request to the second network equipment through the standby RRC connection, and performs data interaction by adopting the standby RRC connection after receiving an approval modification message returned by the second network equipment. In addition, the second network device will also notify the first network device after receiving the link modification request.
202. The terminal equipment judges whether the target reason is a first specific reason or not, the first specific reason indicates that the target reason is used for realizing voice call or video call, and if the target reason is the first specific reason, no processing is carried out; if not, the process proceeds to step 203.
When the target is the first specific reason, the process can be ended without any processing.
203. The terminal equipment detects whether the first timer is in an activated state; wherein, when the first timer is not in an active state, turning to step 204; while the first timer is in the active state, the process proceeds to step 206.
Wherein the first timer being in an active state means that the first timer has been started.
204. The terminal device starts a first timer and sets a timing value of the first timer.
205. The terminal device releases the RRC connection when the timing value of the first timer satisfies its timing value.
After the RRC connection is released, the terminal device will also stop the timing of the first timer, and perform a zero clearing operation on the first timer. It should be further noted that, at this time, if the second timer and/or the third timer are also in the on state, then it is further required to stop the operation of the second timer and/or the third timer, and perform a zero clearing operation on the second timer and/or the third timer, so as to ensure that timing from zero can be started after the next start.
206. The terminal device determines whether the target cause is a second specific cause. Wherein, when the target cause is not the second specific cause, turning to step 207; when the target cause is the second specific cause, the process proceeds to step 214.
207. The terminal device starts the third timer and sets the timing value of the third timer.
208. The terminal device determines whether the timing value of the third timer meets the timing value of the third timer, wherein if yes, the step 209 is shifted; otherwise, go to step 208.
209. The terminal device sets the register to a value of 1.
210. The terminal device sends an ESR message to the network device.
211. And the terminal equipment receives the RRC connection release message returned by the network equipment.
212. And when the value of the register is 1, the terminal equipment releases the RRC connection according to the RRC connection release message.
After the RRC is released, if the second timer and/or the third timer are still in the working state, timing of the second timer and/or the third timer will be stopped, and a clear operation is performed on the second timer and/or the third timer.
213. And when the value of the register is 0, the terminal equipment redirects to 2G or 3G for data transmission.
After step 213 is performed, if the second timer and/or the third timer are still in the working state, the timing of the second timer and/or the third timer is stopped, and a zero clearing operation is performed on the second timer and/or the third timer. It should also be noted that if the first timer is still in an on state at this time, the first timer will also be stopped and a zero clearing operation will be performed on the first timer.
214. And the terminal equipment starts a second timer when receiving the TAU acceptance message or the attachment acceptance message sent by the network equipment, and sets the timing value of the second timer.
215. The terminal device determines whether the timing value of the second timer meets the timing value of the second timer, wherein if yes, the step 209 is turned to, otherwise, the step 215 is turned to.
By implementing the embodiment, the terminal device analyzes the reason of the establishment of the RRC connection, when the voice call or the video call which is not required to keep the RRC connection for a long time is not required, sends the ESR message to trigger the network device to send the RRC connection release message, so that the RRC connection is disconnected in time, the purpose of saving the power consumption of the terminal device is achieved, the standby capability of the terminal device is improved, namely the use time of the terminal device is prolonged, meanwhile, the synchronization of the terminal device and the network device can be kept, the paging information of the network device can be received in time, and the user experience is improved.
Referring to fig. 3, fig. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method for reducing power consumption of a terminal device according to another embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 3, the method for reducing power consumption of the terminal device may include:
301. the terminal device establishes an RRC connection with the network device.
302. The terminal equipment judges whether a voice call or video call instruction is received.
When a voice call or a video call command is received, the RRC connection is considered to be used to implement the voice call or the video call, and the process may be ended without any processing. When the voice call or video call instruction is not received, the process goes to step 303.
303. The terminal equipment judges whether the first timer T1 is in an activated state or not; wherein, when not in the activated state, go to step 304; while in the active state, the process proceeds to step 306.
304. The terminal device starts the first timer T1 and sets the timing value of T1 to N1 seconds.
305. And when the timing value of T1 meets N1 seconds, the terminal equipment releases the RRC connection.
After the RRC connection is released, the terminal device will also stop timing of T1 and perform a clear operation on T1. It should be further noted that, at this time, if the second timer and/or the third timer are also in the on state, then it is further required to stop the operation of the second timer and/or the third timer, and perform a zero clearing operation on the second timer and/or the third timer, so as to ensure that timing from zero can be started after the next start.
306. The terminal device determines whether the reason for establishing the RRC connection is for implementing signaling transmission. If it is for signaling, the process goes to step 307, otherwise, the process goes to step 309.
307. When receiving the TAU accept message or the attach message, the terminal device starts a second timer T2, and sets the timing value of T2 to N2 seconds.
308. The terminal device determines whether the timing value of T2 satisfies N2 seconds, and if N2 seconds are satisfied, the process goes to step 311, otherwise, the process goes to step 308.
309. The terminal device starts a third timer T3 and sets the timing value of T3 to N3 seconds.
310. The terminal device determines whether the timing value of T3 satisfies N3 seconds, wherein, if satisfied, it goes to step 311, otherwise it goes to step 310.
311. The terminal device sets the value of the enable_ esr _flag register to 1.
It will be appreciated that an enable_ ESR _flag register is set corresponding to the ESR of the terminal device, and the enable_ ESR _flag register is enabled when an ESR request is sent to the network device to request release of the RRC connection, i.e., the enable_ ESR _flag register is set to 1. The enable_ esr _flag register is used for marking whether the terminal device actively requests to release the RRC connection or whether the second timer is satisfied to release the RRC connection initiated by the network device.
312. The terminal device sends an ESR message to the network device.
313. And the terminal equipment receives the RRC connection release message returned by the network equipment.
314. The terminal device releases the RRC connection when the current value of the enable_ esr _flag register is 1.
After the RRC is released, if T2 and/or T3 are still in the working state, timing of T2 and/or T3 is stopped, and a clear operation is performed on T2 and/or T3. It should also be noted that if T1 is still on at this time, T1 will also be stopped and a clear operation will be performed on T1.
315. And when the current value of the enable_ esr _flag register is 0, the terminal equipment redirects to a 2G or 3G network for data transmission.
By implementing the embodiment, the terminal equipment sends the ESR message to the network equipment through the timer trigger by setting the timer, thereby triggering the network equipment to send the RRC connection release message, so as to disconnect the RRC connection in time, achieve the purpose of saving the power consumption of the terminal equipment, improve the standby capability of the terminal equipment, namely prolong the service time of the terminal equipment, simultaneously keep the synchronization of the terminal equipment and the network equipment, receive the paging information of the network equipment in time, and improve the user experience.
Example IV
Referring to fig. 4, fig. 4 is a schematic structural diagram of a terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 4, the terminal device may include:
an obtaining unit 410, configured to obtain a target cause of establishing an RRC connection when establishing a radio resource control RRC connection between a terminal device and a network device;
a timing unit 420, configured to start a first timer if the target cause is not a first specific cause and is not a second specific cause, where the first specific cause indicates that the voice call or the video call is to be implemented, and the second specific cause indicates that the signaling is to be transmitted;
a communication unit 430, configured to send an RRC connection release request to the network device when the timing value of the first timer meets a preset value; the preset value is the timing value of the first timer;
the communication unit 430 is further configured to receive an RRC connection release message returned by the network device for the RRC connection release request;
the link release unit 440 is configured to release the RRC connection according to the RRC connection release message.
In the above embodiment, when the RRC connection is established between the terminal device and the network device, by analyzing the reason for establishing the RRC connection, if the reason is not for implementing a voice call or a video call, the first timing is started, if the timing value of the first timing meets the preset value, the RRC connection release request is actively sent to the network device to request the network device to send the RRC connection release message to release the RRC connection.
As an optional implementation manner, the terminal device further includes an establishing unit, where the establishing unit is configured to, when the terminal device needs to perform data interaction with the network device, establish an RRC connection between the terminal device and the network device by sending an RRC connection establishment request to the network device and receiving a message returned by the network device to agree to establish the RRC connection.
Further, after obtaining the message returned by the network device to agree to establish the RRC connection, the establishing unit completes the establishment of the RRC connection between the terminal device and the network device, and at the same time, the obtaining unit 410 obtains the target reason for establishing the RRC connection. It will be appreciated that the reasons for establishing an RRC connection include signaling, voice calls, video calls, short message transmissions, etc.
As an optional implementation manner, the above-mentioned timing unit 420 is further configured to start a second timer when the RRC connection is established between the terminal device and the network device, where a timing value of the second timer is greater than a timing value of the first timer. When the target cause is not the first specific cause, the timer unit 420 starts a first timer when the RRC connection is established, where the first timer may be used to calculate a time given in the network protocol for releasing the RRC connection, for example, it may take 10 seconds for the network to release the RRC connection after the RRC connection is established, so in an embodiment of the present invention, the first timer may be set for a similar time, and a timer value of the first timer may be set correspondingly, for example, N2 seconds, for example, N2 may be set to be 10.
As an optional implementation manner, the terminal device further includes a setting unit, after sending the RRC connection release request to the network device through the communication unit 430, the setting unit further sets a value of a local register to 1, so as to be used for marking that the terminal device actively initiates the RRC connection release request to the network device, if the value of the register is 0, which indicates that the terminal device does not actively initiate the RRC connection release request to the network device, and the network device controls release of the RRC connection.
Correspondingly, after receiving the RRC connection release message, the communication unit 430 further detects the value of the register, and if the value is 1, it indicates that the RRC connection is released corresponding to the RRC connection release message returned by the RRC connection release request initiated by the terminal device, and may ignore other contents in the RRC connection release message, and only release the RRC connection, where other contents are redirected to the 2G or 3G network for data transmission, otherwise, it indicates that the received RRC connection release message is sent by the network device, and at this time, not only releases the RRC connection, but also performs other indications in the RRC connection release message, such as redirecting to the 2G or 3G network for call.
Example five
Referring to fig. 5, fig. 5 is a schematic structural diagram of a terminal device according to another embodiment of the present invention; the terminal device shown in fig. 5 is obtained by optimizing on the basis of the terminal device shown in fig. 4, and the terminal device shown in fig. 5 further includes: a judging unit 510 and a monitoring unit 520.
As an optional implementation manner, the determining unit 510 is configured to determine, if the target cause is not the first specific cause, whether the target cause is the second specific cause, where the second specific cause indicates that signaling is to be transmitted; and triggering the timing unit 420 to perform the step of starting the first item of timing when the target cause is not the second specific cause.
The communication unit 430 is further configured to determine whether a tracking area update TAU accept message or an attach accept message sent by the network device is received when the target cause is a second specific cause;
the timing unit 420 is further configured to start a second timing when the communication unit 430 receives a TAU accept message or an attach accept message;
the determining unit 510 is further configured to determine whether the timing value of the second timing meets a second preset value; and triggering the communication unit 430 to perform a step of sending an RRC connection release request to the network device when the timing value of the second timing satisfies a second preset value.
Further, the determining unit 510 is further configured to detect whether the first timer is in an activated state when the target cause is not the first specific cause; and executing a step of judging whether the target cause is a second specific cause when the first timer is in an activated state;

the link release unit 440 is further configured to release the RRC connection when the timing value of the first timer satisfies the timing value.
As an optional implementation manner, the monitoring unit 520 is configured to monitor data traffic of the RRC connection before the communication unit 430 sends the RRC connection release request to the network device when the timing value of the first timing meets a first preset value; and triggering the communication unit 430 to perform a step of transmitting an RRC connection release request to the network device when no data traffic is monitored on the RRC connection.
In the above embodiment, if the timing value of the first timing meets the preset value and there is no data traffic on the RRC connection, the RRC connection may be released to release network resources, so as to improve the standby duration of the terminal device, and meanwhile, the terminal device actively initiates an RRC connection release request, so that the network device may be notified to ensure synchronization between the terminal device and the network device.

Since the terminal device establishes RRC connection with the first network device and the second network device at the same time, the first timer is used to time the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection at the same time, when the timing value of the first timer satisfies the preset value, the monitoring unit 520 monitors whether there is data traffic on the primary RRC connection, if not, further monitors whether there is data traffic on the standby RRC connection, and when there is no data traffic on the standby RRC connection, sends an RRC connection release request to the network device through the communication unit 430.
As another alternative embodiment, if there is a primary RRC connection and a standby RRC connection, the first timer is configured to count the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection at the same time, and when the count value of the first timer satisfies the preset value, the monitoring unit 520 monitors whether there is no data traffic in both the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection at the same time, and when there is no data traffic in both the primary RRC connection and the standby RRC connection, sends an RRC connection release request to the network device through the communication unit 430.
Further, the establishing unit sends an RRC connection establishment request to the first network device, and also sends an RRC connection establishment request to the second network device, a primary RRC connection is established between the terminal device and the first network device, and a standby RRC connection is established between the terminal device and the second network device. In the process of data interaction between the terminal device and the network device, the terminal device performs data interaction through the primary RRC connection, the monitoring unit 520 monitors the failure of the primary RRC connection, when the failure of the primary RRC connection is monitored, the communication unit 430 sends a link modification request to the second network device through the standby RRC connection, and after receiving an approval modification message returned by the second network device, the communication unit 430 performs data interaction through the standby RRC connection. In addition, the second network device will also notify the first network device after receiving the link modification request.
