Detailed Description
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiments, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. When the following description refers to the accompanying drawings, like numbers in different drawings represent the same or similar elements unless otherwise indicated. The implementations described in the exemplary embodiments below are not intended to represent all implementations consistent with the present disclosure. Rather, they are merely examples of apparatus and methods consistent with certain aspects of the present disclosure, as detailed in the appended claims.
Fig. 1 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating a display control method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The method shown in this embodiment can be applied to a display panel that is a foldable display panel, such as an OLED (organic light emitting diode) display panel.
The display panel may be folded once or may be folded multiple times, and the following embodiments are mainly exemplified in the case of being folded once. After the display panel is folded, the display screen displayed before the display panel is folded may be reduced to be displayed on the folded side.
As shown in fig. 1, the display control method may include the steps of:
in step S1, recording angle information of a corner of an original boundary of a display screen in the display panel before folding;
in step S2, in the folded display panel, the corner of the boundary of the display screen newly generated is set according to the angle information.
In one embodiment, the corner of the original boundary may be a right angle or a rounded corner, wherein the rounded corner replaces the original right angle with a section of circular arc tangent to two sides of the right angle, the angle information of the right angle may be represented by the angle of the right angle, and the angle information of the rounded corner may be represented by the radius of the circular arc corresponding to the rounded corner. The following description is mainly given by way of example in the case where corners of the original boundary are rounded.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating a display panel before folding according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating a folded display panel according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
As shown in fig. 2, in the display panel before folding, a corner 2 of an original boundary of the display screen a is rounded in order to make the display screen more beautiful. In the related art, if the display panel is folded, corners of a boundary of a display screen at a fold line in the folded display panel are right angles, which may cause asymmetry of the display screen due to two corners being rounded corners and two corners being right angles among four corners of the boundary of the display screen, and when a user views an asymmetric target, the user may inadvertently pay attention to an asymmetric position, which may seriously affect the viewing effect of the display screen.
According to the embodiment of the present disclosure, in the folded display panel, the corner 3 of the boundary of the display screen newly generated may be set according to the angle information of the corner 2 of the original boundary in the display panel before folding, for example, as shown in fig. 3, the corner 3 may be set to be the same as the corner 2, and accordingly, four corners of the display screen in the folded display panel may be the same, which is beneficial to ensuring the viewing effect of the display screen.
Fig. 4 is a schematic flow chart diagram illustrating another display control method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 4, on the basis of the embodiment shown in fig. 1, the method further includes:
in step S3, a first distance from an original border of a display screen in the display panel before folding to a frame of the display panel (the frame herein refers to a frame closest to the border) is recorded;
in step S4, in the folded display panel, a second distance from the newly generated boundary of the display screen to the folding line is set according to the first distance.
In an embodiment, when the display screen is processed according to the embodiment shown in fig. 3, the newly generated boundary of the display screen is overlapped with the broken line, and there is a certain degree of asymmetry in this case, that is, there is a distance, hereinafter referred to as a first distance d1, between the original boundary of the display screen and the frame, and there is no distance between the newly generated boundary of the display screen and the broken line, which may cause the newly generated boundary of the display screen to be very obtrusive to view, and when a user views content at the newly generated boundary of the display screen, the user may easily view something other than the display panel, which may affect the viewing effect.
Fig. 5 is a schematic view of another folded display panel according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
According to the embodiment of the disclosure, the second distance from the newly generated boundary of the display picture to the folding line can be set according to the first distance from the original boundary of the display picture in the display panel before folding to the frame of the display panel, for example, as shown in fig. 5, the second distance d2 from the newly generated boundary of the display picture to the folding line is set to be equal to the first distance d1, so that the overall symmetry of the folded display panel can be further ensured, and because the newly generated boundary of the display picture has a certain distance to the folding line, when a user views the content at the newly generated boundary of the display picture, the user cannot easily view something beyond the display panel, which is beneficial to ensuring the viewing effect.
In one embodiment, the corners comprise right angles and/or rounded corners.
It should be noted that, corners of the boundary of the display interface may be all right angles, or all round angles, or may be partially right angles, or partially round angles.
Fig. 6 is a schematic flow chart illustrating a method for adjusting a corner of a display screen near a boundary of a polyline according to the angle information, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 6, the corner includes a rounded corner, and the adjusting the corner of the display screen near the boundary of the polyline according to the angle information includes:
in step S21, the corner of the original boundary of the display screen in the folded display panel is narrowed;
in step S22, the corner of the boundary newly generated on the angle information adjustment display screen is set based on the angle information of the corner of the reduced original boundary.
In one embodiment, the corner of the display frame boundary is set as a round corner, which is beneficial to improve the viewing effect, but most of the frames are rectangular at present, and the round corner replaces the original right angle with a circular arc tangent to two sides of the right angle, which results in that the area of the display frame with the round corner is smaller than that of the display frame with the right angle, thereby resulting in that the displayed content is partially lost.
In the display panel before folding, since the area of the display screen is large, the rounded corner can be set to be large (that is, the radius of the circular arc corresponding to the rounded corner is large), and in this case, the ratio of the missing content displayed is not large. However, the area of the display screen in the folded display panel is small, and if the round corner of the display screen in the display panel before folding is still used as the corner, the ratio of the missing content of the display is large, and the normal viewing of the user may be affected.
Fig. 7 is a schematic view illustrating still another folded display panel according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
According to the embodiment of the present disclosure, as shown in fig. 7, after the display panel is folded, the corner of the original boundary of the display picture in the folded display panel can be reduced (for example, compared with the embodiment shown in fig. 5), and the specific reduction amount can be set as required, and then the corner of the boundary newly generated by the angle information adjustment display picture is set according to the angle information of the reduced corner of the original boundary, so that the fillet of the boundary of the display picture in the folded display panel is small, which is beneficial to avoiding the loss of the display content, and further ensuring the viewing effect.
Corresponding to the embodiment of the display control method, the disclosure also provides an embodiment of a display control device.
Fig. 8 is a schematic block diagram illustrating a display control apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The device shown in this embodiment can be applied to a display panel which is a foldable display panel, such as an OLED (organic light emitting diode) display panel.
As shown in fig. 8, the display control apparatus includes:
an angle recording module 1 configured to record angle information of a corner of an original boundary of a display screen in a display panel before folding;
and an angle setting module 2 configured to set a corner of a newly generated boundary of the display screen in the folded display panel according to the angle information.
Fig. 9 is a schematic block diagram illustrating another display control apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in fig. 9, on the basis of the embodiment shown in fig. 8, the apparatus further includes:
the distance recording module 3 is configured to record a first distance from an original boundary of a display picture in the display panel before folding to a frame of the display panel;
and the distance setting module 4 is configured to set a second distance from the newly generated boundary of the display screen to the fold line according to the first distance in the folded display panel.
Optionally, the corner comprises a right angle and/or a rounded corner.
