Abstract
An audio playing device and an operation method thereof are applied to the audio playing device, and the operation method comprises the following steps: the host is electrically coupled with the host through a bus; selecting first audio playing device information corresponding to the first bus transmission specification to respond to the host according to the state description element request of the host; judging whether an audio control function description element request instruction is received from a host or not; when the host receives the audio control function description element request instruction, the state description element request of the host is responded continuously; and when the host does not receive the audio control function description element request instruction, judging that the host does not support the first bus transmission specification, and is electrically coupled with the host again through the bus, responding to the host by using second audio playing device information corresponding to the second bus transmission specification according to the state description element request of the host, and continuously responding to the state description element request of the host when the host receives the audio control function description element request instruction.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to audio playback technology, and in particular, to an audio playback apparatus and an operating method thereof.
Background
Analog audio earphone terminals used in many electronic goods such as smart phones, computers, tablet computers, etc. are facing the trend of digital conversion. The universal serial bus Type C (USB Type-C) is more popular in digital audio playing devices. However, the operating system of some hosts may not support the latest bus transmission specification, so that the digital audio playing device cannot operate with the host.
Therefore, how to design a new audio playing device and its operation method to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks is a problem to be solved in the industry.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention aims to provide an operation method of an audio playing device, which is applied to the audio playing device and comprises the following steps: the host is electrically coupled with the host through a bus; selecting first audio playing device information corresponding to the first bus transmission specification to respond to the host according to the state description element request of the host; judging whether an audio control function description element request instruction is received from a host or not; when the host receives the audio control function description element request instruction, the state description element request of the host is responded continuously; and when the host does not receive the audio control function description element request instruction, judging that the host does not support the first bus transmission specification, and is electrically coupled with the host again through the bus, responding to the host by using second audio playing device information corresponding to the second bus transmission specification according to the state description element request of the host, and continuously responding to the state description element request of the host when the host receives the audio control function description element request instruction.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an audio playing device, comprising: a storage unit and a processing unit. The storage unit is configured to store a plurality of audio playback device information and application programs corresponding to a plurality of bus transmission specifications. The processing unit is electrically coupled to the storage unit and configured to acquire an application program to execute an audio playing device operation method, where the audio playing device operation method includes: the host is electrically coupled with the host through a bus; selecting first audio playing device information corresponding to the first bus transmission specification to respond to the host according to the state description element request of the host; judging whether an audio control function description element request instruction is received from a host or not; when the host receives the audio control function description element request instruction, the state description element request of the host is responded continuously; and when the host does not receive the audio control function description element request instruction, judging that the host does not support the specific bus transmission specification, and is electrically coupled with the host again through the bus, responding to the host by using second audio playing device information corresponding to the second bus transmission specification according to the state description element request of the host, and continuously responding to the state description element request of the host when the host receives the audio control function description element request instruction.
The invention has the advantages that the audio playing device can detect whether the host supports the specific bus transmission specification or not by the audio playing device and the operation method of the audio playing device, and responds to the host by other bus transmission specifications when the host does not support the host, thereby solving the problem of compatibility.

Detailed Description
Please refer to fig. 1. Fig. 1 is a block diagram of an audio playback device 10 and a host 12 according to an embodiment of the invention.
In one embodiment, the audio playing device 10 may be, for example, but not limited to, a headset or a speaker, etc. that may be used to receive and play audio data (not shown) from the host 12. The host 12 may be, for example, but not limited to, a desktop computer, a notebook computer, or a handheld electronic device such as a smart phone, a tablet computer, etc. that may be used to provide audio data.
In one embodiment, the audio playing device 10 is electrically coupled to the host 12 through the bus 14. In more detail, the bus 14 may be any connection interface that can provide physical and electrical coupling of the audio playback device 10 and the host 12, and transfer data and instructions. In one embodiment, bus 14 may be a universal serial bus.
The audio playback apparatus 10 includes: a memory unit 100 and a processing unit 102.
The storage unit 100 is configured to store first audio playback device information 101, second audio playback device information 103, and an application program 105. In one embodiment, the memory cell 100 may be a flash memory, a programmable read-only memory (PROM), or an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM). In other embodiments, the memory unit 100 may be implemented by other types of memory, or may be a composite memory unit including a plurality of different types of memory.
The first audio playback device information 101 corresponds to a first bus transmission specification, and the second audio playback device information 103 corresponds to a second bus transmission specification different from the first bus transmission specification. In one embodiment, when the bus 14 is a USB, the first bus transmission specification may be, for example, but not limited to, a USB audio playback device class definition second version (universal serial bus device class definition for audio devices v 2.0), and the second bus transmission specification may be, for example, but not limited to, a USB audio playback device class definition first version (universal serial bus device class definition for audio devices v 1.0).
It should be noted that the type of the bus 14 and the first audio playing device information 101 and the second audio playing device information 103 are just one embodiment. In other embodiments, the bus 14 may be another type of bus, and the first audio playing device information 101 and the second audio playing device information 103 may be corresponding types of buses 14, respectively.
The processing unit 102 is electrically coupled to the memory unit 100 and is configured to access the memory unit 100. In one embodiment, the application program 105 stored in the storage unit 100 may be, for example, but not limited to, firmware, and execute related operation programs after being acquired by the processing unit 102.
Please refer to fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a flowchart of a method 200 for operating an audio playing device according to an embodiment of the present invention. The audio playing device operation method 200 can be applied to the audio playing device 10 of fig. 1. In more detail, in an embodiment, the processing unit 102 of the audio playing device 10 may execute the application 105 after acquiring the application 105 stored in the storage unit 100, so as to further execute the audio playing device operation method 200.
The method 200 for operating an audio playing device includes the following steps (it should be understood that the steps mentioned in this embodiment may be performed simultaneously or partially simultaneously, and the order of the steps may be adjusted according to the actual needs, except for those specifically mentioned in the present embodiment.
In step 201, the audio playing device 10 is electrically coupled to the host 12 through the bus 14.
In step 202, the audio playback device 10 selects the first audio playback device information 101 to respond to the host 12 according to the state descriptor request of the host 12. In one embodiment, the first audio playback device information 101 includes, for example, but is not limited to, device description meta information (device descriptor)
Meta information is described in a generalized configuration.
Please refer to fig. 3 at the same time. Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating a communication procedure between the host 12 and the audio playback device 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, the communication procedure shown in fig. 3 is used to implement step 202 in fig. 2.
First, the audio playback device 10 will receive a device descriptor request command 301 from the host 12. The audio playback device 10 will transmit the device description meta-information 303 to the host 12. In one embodiment, the host 12 sends a device descriptor request 301 to the audio playback device 10 at address 0. The audio playing device 10 performs bus enumeration (bus enumeration) by transmitting the device description meta information 303.
The audio playback device 10 will then receive the address setting instruction 305 from the host 12. In one embodiment, before the host 12 transmits the address setting command 305, the audio playback device 10 is reset, and then the address setting command 305 is transmitted to assign a new address to the audio playback device 10 instead of the address 0.
The audio playback device 10 will again receive the device description meta-request command 301 'from the host 12 and again transmit the device description meta-information 303' to the host 12. In one embodiment, the host 12 sends the device descriptor request 301' according to the newly set address.
Next, the audio playing device 10 receives the generalized configuration description meta-request 307 from the host 12, and transmits the generalized configuration description meta-information 309 to the host 12 accordingly. In one embodiment, the generalized configuration description meta-information 309 includes information corresponding to a first bus transmission specification. In detail, the generalized configuration description meta information 309 includes, for example, but is not limited to, configuration description meta information, interface joint description meta information, audio control interface header description meta information, audio control clock source unit description meta information, audio control input port description meta information, audio control output port description meta information, endpoint description meta information, audio stream interface description meta information, audio stream format description meta information, audio data endpoint description meta information, or a combination thereof.
After the audio playing device 10 selects the first audio playing device information 101 according to the state descriptor request of the host 12 to respond to the host 12, in step 203, the audio playing device 10 determines whether to receive an audio control function descriptor request command (not shown) from the host 12.
When the audio playing device 10 receives the audio control function descriptor request instruction from the host 12, the audio playing device 10 will determine that the host 12 supports the first bus transmission specification. Thus, in step 204, the audio playback device 10 will continue to respond to the status descriptor request from the host 12.
In one embodiment, the audio playback device 10 responds to audio control function description meta information (not shown) to the host 12. In one embodiment, the audio control function description meta information includes, for example, but not limited to, a current state of the mute control function, a minimum volume of the volume control function, a maximum volume of the volume control function, a phase adjustment of the volume control function, or a combination thereof. And, the audio data transmission between the audio playing device 10 and the host 12 can be performed in response to a request from the host 12 to play audio.
When the audio playing device 10 does not receive the audio control function descriptor request instruction from the host 12, the audio playing device 10 will determine that the host 12 does not support the first bus transmission specification.
Therefore, in step 205, the audio playing device 10 is electrically coupled with the host 12 through the bus 14 again. In one embodiment, the audio playing device 10 disconnects the electrical coupling between the bus 14 and the host 12, and then electrically couples with the host 12 again through the bus 14. Further, the audio playing device 10 selects or changes to respond to the host 12 with the second audio playing device information 103 according to the request of the host 12, and continues to respond to the state descriptor request of the host 12 when receiving the audio control function descriptor request instruction from the host 12.
In one embodiment, the second bus transmission specification has a poorer transmission capability than the first bus transmission specification. For example, the second bus transmission specification has a lower bandwidth than the first bus transmission specification. In other embodiments, the second bus transmission specification has a lower transmission rate than the first bus transmission specification.
In the prior art, when the host 12 does not support the supported partial bus transmission specification of the audio playing device 10, compatibility problem is caused, so that the audio playing device 10 cannot operate smoothly with the host 12. By the audio playing device 10 and the operation method 200 of the audio playing device of the present invention, the audio playing device 10 can detect whether the host 12 supports the specific bus transmission specification, and respond to the host 12 with other bus transmission specifications when the host 12 is not supported, so as to solve the problem of compatibility.
In the above embodiment, the storage unit 100 is taken as an example to store two audio playing device information corresponding to two bus transmission specifications. In other embodiments, the storage unit 100 may store more than two audio playback device information, and correspond to more than two bus transmission specifications, and determine whether each bus transmission specification is supported by the host 12, so as to adjust the adopted bus transmission specification accordingly.
The above description is only of the preferred embodiments of the present invention and is not intended to limit the present invention, and any modifications, equivalent substitutions and improvements made within the principle of the present invention should be included in the scope of the present invention.
Claims (10)
1. An audio playing device operation method is applied to an audio playing device and comprises the following steps:
electrically coupled to the host via a bus;
selecting a first audio playing device information corresponding to a first bus transmission specification to respond to the host according to a state descriptor request of the host;
judging whether an audio control function description element request instruction is received from the host;
when receiving the audio control function description element request instruction from the host, continuing to respond to the state description element request of the host; and
when the audio control function description element request instruction is not received from the host, the host is judged to not support the first bus transmission specification, and is electrically coupled with the host again through the bus, and according to the state description element request of the host, the host is responded by a second audio playing device information corresponding to a second bus transmission specification, and when the audio control function description element request instruction is received from the host, the state description element request of the host is responded continuously.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first audio playing device information and the second audio playing device information respectively include a device description meta information and a generalized configuration description meta information, and the step of selecting the first audio playing device information and the second audio playing device information to respond to the host further respectively includes:
receiving a device descriptor request command from the host;
transmitting the device description meta information to the host;
receiving an address setting instruction from the host;
receiving the device descriptor request command from the host again;
transmitting the device description meta information to the host again;
receiving a generalized configuration descriptor request command from the host; and
transmitting the generalized configuration description meta information to the host.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein the generalized configuration description meta-information includes information corresponding to the first bus transmission specification when the first audio playback device information is selected in response to the host, and the generalized configuration description meta-information includes information corresponding to the second bus transmission specification when the second audio playback device information is selected in response to the host.
4. The method of claim 2, wherein the generalized configuration description meta-information includes a configuration description meta-information, an interface association description meta-information, an audio control interface header description meta-information, an audio control clock source unit description meta-information, an audio control input port description meta-information, an audio control output port description meta-information, an endpoint description meta-information, an audio stream interface description meta-information, an audio stream format description meta-information, an audio data endpoint description meta-information, or a combination thereof.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein a bandwidth of the second bus transmission specification is lower than the first bus transmission specification.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of responding to the state descriptor request of the host further comprises:
responding to the description meta information of an audio control function; and
and transmitting audio data with the host.
7. The method of claim 6, wherein the audio control function description metadata includes a mute control function current status, a volume control function minimum volume, a volume control function maximum volume, a volume control function stage adjustment, or a combination thereof.
8. The method of claim 1, wherein the first bus transmission specification defines a second version for a usb audio player class, and the second bus transmission specification defines a first version for a usb audio player class.
9. The method of claim 1, wherein when the audio control function descriptor request command is not received from the host, further comprising:
the electrical coupling between the bus and the host is disconnected, and then the electrical coupling between the bus and the host is re-performed.
10. An audio playing device, comprising:
the storage unit is configured to store a plurality of audio playing device information corresponding to a plurality of bus transmission specifications and an application program; and
the processing unit is electrically coupled to the storage unit and is configured to acquire the application program so as to execute an operation method of the audio playing device, and the operation method of the audio playing device comprises the following steps:
electrically coupled to the host via a bus;
selecting a first audio playing device information corresponding to a first bus transmission specification to respond to the host according to a state descriptor request of the host;
judging whether an audio control function description element request instruction is received from the host;
when receiving the audio control function description element request instruction from the host, continuing to respond to the state description element request of the host; and
when the audio control function description element request instruction is not received from the host, the host is judged to not support the first bus transmission specification, and is electrically coupled with the host again through the bus, and according to the state description element request of the host, the host is responded by a second audio playing device information corresponding to a second bus transmission specification, and when the audio control function description element request instruction is received from the host, the state description element request of the host is responded continuously.
