Description

Connection assembly and wire arranging device thereof
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a cable management device, and more particularly, to a cable management device for a slide rail.
Background
Generally, in a rack system of electronic equipment, an electronic equipment is usually mounted to a rack (rack) by a rail assembly, so that the electronic equipment can be pulled out of the rack from the inside of the rack or pushed into the rack from the outside of the rack through the rail of the rail assembly. Because the electronic device has the cable, the cable of the electronic device needs to be supported or arranged through a cable arranging device.
For example, U.S. patent publication No. US6,715,718B1 discloses an adjustable bracket device. Further, as shown in fig. 5 of the present disclosure, when the wire arranging arm (30) having a predetermined length is applied to the rack (10) having a short depth, the wire arranging arm (30) can be attached to the case (20) and the adjustable bracket (40) through the positioning plate (51) and the fixing member (52), so that the wire arranging arm (30) can be selectively positioned at the rear position (a) of the adjustable bracket (40); alternatively, when the wire arranging arm (30) is applied to a machine frame (10') with a long depth, the wire arranging arm (30) can be selectively positioned at the front position (b) of the adjustable bracket (40). Therefore, the wire management arm (30) can be applied to racks with different depth specifications through the adjustable bracket (40). Furthermore, an adjustable device for a wire management arm is disclosed in, for example, U.S. Pat. No. US 9,281,676B 2. Specifically, the wire management arm (20) can be connected to two posts (22,24) of the frame via two adjustment devices (16, 18). Wherein, the length of the two adjusting devices (16,18) can be adjusted, so that the wire arranging arm (20) can be adapted to the frames with different depths. Both of the above-mentioned patents are hereby incorporated by reference.

The first member 26 is directly or indirectly pivoted relative to the first wire management arm 22. Here, the first member 26 is pivoted to the first end 22a of the adjacent first wire arranging arm 22 through a first pivot 38, but the embodiment is not limited thereto.
The second member 28 is displaceable relative to the first member 26. Preferably, the second member 28 and the first member 26 are movably mounted relative to each other through a passage 40. For example, the second member 28 has a first wall 42a, a second wall 42b and a middle wall 44 connected between the first wall 42a and the second wall 42b, and the first wall 42a, the second wall 42b and the middle wall 44 of the second member 28 together define the channel 40 for receiving the first member 26. Preferably, the first member 26 includes a first guide feature 46 and the second member 28 is configured with a first projection 48. The second member 28 is able to displace within a limited range relative to the first member 26 by the first projection 48 passing through a portion of the first guide feature 46. In this embodiment, the first guide feature 46 is a bounded slot or slot, and the first projection 48 has a body portion 48a and a head portion 48 b. Wherein the body portion 48a is connected to the second member 28 through a portion of the first guide feature 46; the head portion 48b is sized larger than the body portion 48a to block one side of the first member 26.
The first latch 30 is disposed on one of the first member 26 and the second member 28, and the first latch 30 is disposed on the first member 26 for example. Preferably, the first engaging member 30 has a first fixing portion 30a, a first elastic arm 30b and a first engaging portion 30 c. Wherein the first fixing portion 30a is connected to the first member 26; the first elastic arm 30b extends from the first fixing portion 30 a; the first latch portion 30c is disposed on the first elastic arm 30 b. The first engaging portion 30c is, for example, a protrusion (or a hook) for engaging different portions of the second member 28, e.g., the first engaging portion 30c is for engaging a first feature 28a or a second feature 28b of the second member 28. Preferably, the first feature 28a and the second feature 28b are holes or slots.
The first connector 32 is arranged to the second member 28. In this embodiment, the first connecting member 32 is pivotally connected to the second member 28, for example, the first connecting member 32 is pivotally connected to an end position adjacent to the second member 28 through a second pivot 50, but the embodiment is not limited thereto.
Preferably, the wire management device 20 further includes a third member 52, a fourth member 54 and a second latch 56. Preferably, a second connector 58 is also included.
The third member 52 is directly or indirectly pivoted with respect to the second wire management arm 24. Here, the third member 52 is pivoted to the first end 24a of the adjacent second wire arranging arm 24 through a third pivot 60, but the embodiment is not limited thereto.
The fourth member 54 is displaceable relative to the third member 52. Preferably, the fourth member 54 and the third member 52 are movably mounted relative to each other through a passage 62. Here, for example, the fourth member 54 has a first wall 64a, a second wall 64b and a middle wall 66 connected between the first wall 64a and the second wall 64b, and the first wall 64a, the second wall 64b and the middle wall 66 of the fourth member 54 together define the channel 62 for receiving the third member 52. Preferably, the third member 52 includes a second guide feature 68 and the fourth member 54 is configured with a second projection 70. The fourth member 54 is able to displace within a limited range relative to the third member 52 by the second projection 70 passing through a portion of the second guide feature 68. In this embodiment, the second guide feature 68 is a bounded slot or slot, and the second projection 70 has a body portion 70a and a head portion 70 b. Wherein the body portion 70a is connected to the fourth member 54 through a portion of the second guide feature 68; the head portion 70b is larger than the body portion 70a to block one side of the third member 52.
The second latch 56 is disposed on one of the third member 52 and the fourth member 54, and the second latch 56 is disposed on the third member 52 for example. The second engaging member 56 is used to engage with the other one of the third member 52 and the fourth member 54, and the second engaging member 56 is used to engage with the fourth member 54. Preferably, the second latch 56 has a second fixing portion 56a, a second elastic arm 56b and a second latch portion 56 c. Wherein the second fixing portion 56a is connected to the third member 52; the second elastic arm 56b extends from the second fixing portion 56 a; the second latch portion 56c is disposed on the second elastic arm 56 b. The second engaging portion 56c is, for example, a protrusion (or a hook) for engaging different portions of the fourth component 54, and the second engaging portion 56c is, for example, for engaging a first feature 54a or a second feature 54b of the fourth component 54. Preferably, the first feature 54a and the second feature 54b are holes or slots.
The second connector 58 is arranged to the fourth member 54. In this embodiment, the second connecting member 58 is pivotally connected to the fourth member 54, for example, the second connecting member 58 is pivotally connected to an end position adjacent to the fourth member 54 through a fourth pivot 72, but the embodiment is not limited thereto.
Preferably, the wire management device 20 further includes a support 74, a mounting seat 76 and a third connecting member 78.
The supporting member 74 has a predetermined length, and the supporting member 74 is movably disposed at the bottom of the first wire arranging arm 22 and the second wire arranging arm 24 for supporting one of the first wire arranging arm 22 and the second wire arranging arm 24. Here, the supporting member 74 is connected to the bottom of the pivot seat 34 for example; on the other hand, the mounting seat 76 is pivotally connected to a supporting seat 75 connected to the supporting member 74 through a mounting member 81; and, the third connecting member 78 is displaceable relative to the mounting block 76. Preferably, the mount 76 includes at least one third guide feature 80, and the third connector 78 is configured with at least one third protrusion 82. The third connector 78 is able to displace within a limited range relative to the mount 76 by passing the at least one third projection 82 through a portion of the at least one third guide feature 80. In this embodiment, the at least one third guide feature 80 is a bounded slot or slot, and the at least one third projection 82 has a body 82a and a head 82 b. Wherein the body portion 82a is connected to the third connector 78 through a portion of the at least one third guide feature 80; the head portion 82b is larger than the body portion 82a to block one side of the mounting seat 76.
Preferably, the wire management device 20 further includes a third engaging member 84. The third latch 84 is disposed on one of the mounting seat 76 and the third connecting member 78, and the third latch 84 is disposed on the mounting seat 76 for example. The third engaging member 84 is used for engaging the other of the mounting seat 76 and the third connecting member 78, and the third engaging member 84 is used for engaging the third connecting member 78. Preferably, the third engaging member 84 has a third fixing portion 84a, a third elastic arm 84b and a third engaging portion 84 c. Wherein the third fixing portion 84a is connected to the mounting seat 76; the third elastic arm 84b extends from the third fixing portion 84 a; the third catch portion 84c is disposed at the third elastic arm 84 b. The third latching portion 84c is, for example, a bump (or a hook) for latching different portions of the third connecting member 78, for example, the third latching portion 84c is used for latching at least one first feature 78a or at least one second feature 78b of the third connecting member 78. Preferably, the at least one first feature 78a and the at least one second feature 78b are holes or slots. It should be noted that since the mounting base 76, the first member 26 and the third member 52 are all pivotable, all three can be oriented in the same direction.
As shown in fig. 2, the second member 28 (and the first connector 32) can be in a first position P1 (this portion can be seen with reference to fig. 3) relative to the first member 26; the fourth member 54 (and the second connector 58) can be in a first position P1 relative to the third member 52; the third connecting member 78 can be located at a first position P1 relative to the mounting seat 76.
As shown in fig. 3 and 4, the second member 28 (and the first link 32) is displaceable relative to the first member 26 from a first position P1 to a second position P2; similarly, the fourth member 54 (and the second connector 58) as shown in fig. 2 can be displaced from the first position P1 to a second position (not shown) relative to the third member 52.
It should be noted that the first detent 30 can detent the second member 28, such that the second member 28 (and the first connector 32) can be held in different positions relative to the first member 26. For example, when the second member 28 (and the first connector 32) is in the first position P1 relative to the first member 26, the first detent portion 30c of the first detent 30 can detent the first feature 28a of the second member 28, such that the second member 28 is maintained in the first position P1 (shown in fig. 3). Alternatively, when the second member 28 (and the first connector 32) is in the second position P2 relative to the first member 26, the first detent portion 30c of the first detent 30 can detent the second feature 28b of the second member 28, such that the second member 28 is maintained in the second position P2 (shown in fig. 4).
It is noted that when the second member 28 is in the first position P1 relative to the first member 26, the second member 28 and the first member 26 define a first length L1 (shown in fig. 3). Herein, since the first link 32 is arranged to the second member 28, the first length L1 is indicated between the front end of the first link 32 and the rear end of the first member 26 as an example. And, when the second member 28 is in the second position P2 relative to the first member 26, the second member 28 and the first member 26 define a second length L2 (shown in fig. 4), wherein the second length L2 is different from the first length L1. Herein, since the first link 32 is arranged to the second member 28, the second length L2 is indicated between the front end of the first link 32 and the rear end of the first member 26 as an example. And the second length L2 is greater than the first length L1.
Similarly, the fourth member 54 (and the second connecting member 58) can be maintained at the first position P1 or the second position with respect to the third member 52 by the second latching portion 56c of the second latching member 56 being able to latch the first feature 54a or the second feature 54b of the fourth member 54. And the fourth member 54 has a different length than the third member 52 when the fourth member 54 is displaced relative to the third member 52 from the first position P1 to the second position (or from the second position to the first position).
As shown in fig. 2, 5 and 6, the third connecting member 78 can be displaced from the first position P1 to a second position P2 relative to the mounting seat 76. When the third connecting member 78 is at the first position P1, the third engaging portion 84c of the third engaging member 84 can engage the at least one first feature 78a of the third connecting member 78 to maintain the third connecting member 78 at the first position P1, and a first length E1 is defined between the front end of the third connecting member 78 and the rear end of the mounting seat 76; alternatively, when the third connecting member 78 is at the second position P2, the at least one second feature 78b of the third connecting member 78 can be engaged by the third engaging portion 84c of the third engaging member 84 to maintain the third connecting member 78 at the second position P2, and a second length E2 between the front end of the third connecting member 78 and the rear end of the mounting seat 76 is different from the first length E1. Herein, the second length E2 is greater than the first length E1.
As shown in fig. 7, a rack system includes the wire management device 20, a first rail assembly 86 (also referred to as a rail assembly) and a second rail assembly 88 (also referred to as another rail assembly). Wherein, the wire arranging device 20 and the slide rail assembly 86 form a connecting assembly. The first slide assembly 86 includes a first rail 90 and a second rail 92. The second rail 92 is longitudinally displaceable relative to the first rail 90. The first rail 90 is, for example, a first post 94a and a second post 94b fixed to a frame, and the second rail 92 is displaceable relative to the first rail 90. Preferably, an intermediate rail 96 is movably mounted between the first rail 90 and the second rail 92 for increasing the displacement stroke of the second rail 92 relative to the first rail 90. Similarly, the second slide assembly 88 includes a third rail 98 and a fourth rail 100, the third rail 98 being fixed to another first column 94c and another second column 94d of the rack, for example, and the fourth rail 100 being displaceable relative to the third rail 98.
Wherein, the first wire arranging arm 22 of the wire arranging device 20 is connected to the first rail 90 (or the first object) of the first slide rail assembly 86 through the first connecting member 32, for example, connected to the rear end of the first rail 90; the second wire management arm 24 is configured to be connected to a second rail 92 of the first slide rail assembly 86, where the second wire management arm 24 is connected to the second rail 92 (or a second object) of the first slide rail assembly 86 through the second connecting member 58, such as to a rear end of the second rail 92. On the other hand, the supporting member 74 includes a first supporting portion 74a and a second supporting portion 74b that can be extended and retracted relatively. The third connecting member 78 is configured to be connected to a third rail 98 (or a third object) of the second rail assembly 88, for example, to a rear end of the third rail 98.
An electronic device 102 (or chassis) is mounted between the first rail assembly 86 and the second rail assembly 88, and the electronic device 102 can be pulled out of the rack through the second rail 92 and the fourth rail 100 in a first direction D1 to be displaced out of the rack. The second wire management arm 24 is deployable relative to the first wire management arm 22 in response to displacement of the second rail 92 (or the electronic device 102) of the first slide assembly 86 in the first direction D1. The wire receiving features 37 can be used for receiving a cable behind the electronic device 102 (for simplicity, the description is omitted here), and the supporting member 74 can be used for supporting the first wire management arm 22 or the second wire management arm 24.
As shown in fig. 8, the electronic device 102 can be pushed into the rack from outside the rack in a second direction D2, wherein the second wire management arm 24 can be moved closer to the first wire management arm 22 in response to the second rail 92 of the first rail assembly 86 (or the electronic device 102) moving in the second direction D2, and the support 74 can be used to support the first wire management arm 22 or the second wire management arm 24.
Further, the first wire management arm 22 is in a closed state relative to the second wire management arm 24. When the second member 28 (and the first connector 32) is located at the first position P1 relative to the first member 26, the fourth member 54 (and the second connector 58) can be located at the first position P1 relative to the third member 52, and/or the third connector 78 is located at the first position P1 relative to the mounting seat 76, a first space S1 is defined between the rear of the electronic device 102 and (the second wire management arm 24 of) the wire management device 20. It should be noted that the first space S1 may be too narrow, which may not be enough for the cable behind the electronic device 102, or may cause inconvenience in the cable winding operation by the operator.
As shown in fig. 9, the first wire management arm 22 is in a closed position relative to the second wire management arm 24. Wherein, when the second member 28 (and the first connecting member 32) is located at the second position P2 relative to the first member 26, the fourth member 54 (and the second connecting member 58) can be located at the second position P2 relative to the third member 52, and/or the third connecting member 78 is located at the second position P2 relative to the mounting seat 76, the connecting length of the wire management device 20 can be extended, that is, the connecting length between the wire management device 20 and the slide rail assemblies 86 and 88 is extended. Accordingly, a second space S2 is defined between the rear of the electronic device 102 and (the second wire management arm 24 of) the wire management device 20, and the second space S2 is larger than the first space S1. Therefore, the second space S2 facilitates the spatial use of the cable behind the electronic device 102, and for example, the operator can also facilitate the cable winding operation.
From the above description, it can be seen that the enhanced efficacy and advantages of the present invention are:
a. the wire management device 20 can change the connection length through a mechanism (or a telescopic mechanism) that the second member 28 (and the first connecting member 32) can change the position relative to the first member 26, the fourth member 54 (and the second connecting member 58) can change the position relative to the third member 52, and/or the third connecting member 78 can change the position relative to the mounting seat 76, so as to improve the space problem.
b. The first detent 30 can be used to maintain the position of the second member 28 (and the first connector 32) relative to the first member 26; the second latch 56 for maintaining the position of the fourth member 54 (and the second connector 58) relative to the third member 52; the third detent 84 can be used to maintain the position of the third connecting member 78 relative to the mounting seat 76.
c. If the specifications and sizes of the chassis are not consistent, for example, different long and short chassis specifications exist, through the adjustment, the invention can also meet the use requirement.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to the present specific embodiments, it will be recognized by those skilled in the art that the above embodiments are illustrative only, and various equivalent changes and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention, and therefore, it is intended to cover in the appended claims all such changes and modifications as fall within the true spirit of the invention.
