Technical Field
The present invention relates to a trim panel for a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle having an openable region for passing light, sound and/or air.
Background
"trim panel" refers to a planar surface or plate-like, flat or uneven member that circumscribes the passenger compartment that is itself visible and touchable by a passenger of the motor vehicle in the motor vehicle. However, the trim panel can also be arranged in an invisible and/or inaccessible location in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle.

Disclosure of Invention
The object of the invention is to provide a trim panel for a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, which trim panel has an openable region for the passage of light, sound and/or air, which region has an unusual visual effect in the open state.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of claim 1.
The trim panel according to the invention has an openable region in which the trim panel has a slit. The gaps are arranged on imaginary lines, the course of which is arbitrary in principle, wherein the distance between adjacent lines is constant or variable. For example, the line can be straight, angled, curved, circular or annular with an annular shape other than circular or multi-deformed. The annular lines preferably surround one another, wherein the rings can be concentric or eccentric.
The slits are arranged in succession in their longitudinal direction on an imaginary line and side by side on adjacent lines. The slit preferably extends in the direction of the line at least when the slit is closed, the slit being arranged on the line, however the slit can also be arranged at an acute angle, preferably at an angle of no more than 30 °, 20 ° or 10 °, to the line.
The slits arranged successively on the line have a pitch from each other. The slits on adjacent wires have a misalignment in their longitudinal direction or in the longitudinal direction of the wires on which the slits are arranged. A first slit arranged on a first line, seen transversely to the line, covers the space between a second slit and a third slit, which are arranged next to each other (i.e. without a further slit between them) on a second line, which is adjacent to the first line. In other words, the slits are arranged next to one another and offset in the longitudinal direction thereof in such a way that they are widened into openings when the openable region of the decorative panel is widened transversely to the imaginary line or transversely to the slits.
In order to open and/or close the gap, the decorative plate has an actuator with which the decorative plate can be deformed in the openable region perpendicular to or oblique to the surface of the decorative plate. Thereby expanding or compressing the openable region of the trim panel and opening or closing the slit, and thereby opening or closing the openable region. The openable area can also be understood to be open if the slit is open. An actuator can be understood as a device that produces a mechanical movement. The actuator can produce the movement, for example, electromechanically (e.g., with an electric motor, an electromagnet, a piezoelectric element), pneumatically, hydraulically, or with a shaped memory alloy. The actuator can also be driven manually (e.g., via a control element and a transmission).
The invention provides a trim panel for a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, having an openable region for passing light, sound and/or air, which region can be embodied so as to be invisible or hardly visible when the region is closed, and/or which region has an unusual visual effect when the region is open. Although a sealed closure of the gap is possible, in principle this is not the case, and even an incomplete closure of the gap is possible.
In one embodiment of the invention, the slit forms a hexagonal opening or a diamond-shaped opening when the slit is open.
A configuration of the invention provides that the openable region is dome-shaped when opened and expands its arch when opened. "dome" refers to a plane that is curved in two dimensions in one direction (i.e., concave or convex depending on the viewing direction). When the openable region is closed, the openable region can be flat or also dome-shaped, but with a smaller arch than when it is opened.
The decorative panel is preferably thinner in the openable region than in the region surrounding the openable region, so that only the openable region is deformed when opened and closed, or at least the openable region is deformed to a degree several times greater than the region surrounding the openable region.
In one embodiment of the invention, the decorative panel is no thicker than about 10% or 5% of the distance between two consecutive slits in the openable region, the two consecutive slits being arranged next to one another on a line.
Preferably, the trim panel is made of plastic and/or is elastically deformable in the openable region.

Fig. 1 shows a dashboard of a motor vehicle, the remainder of which is not shown, the dashboard or the upper side of the dashboard forming a trim panel 1 according to the invention for the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. On the upper side of the partition, the decorative panel 1 has an openable region 2 which is circular in the view, wherein the openable region 2 can have another shape. Instead of the instrument panel, other decorative or interior parts of the motor vehicle (for example door trim panels, center consoles or trim panels on the rear side of the motor vehicle front seat) can also have an openable region and form a trim panel (not shown) according to the invention.
In the openable region 2, the decorative panel 1 is provided with slits 3 which, when the slits 3 and the openable region 2 are opened, expand into hexagonal, diamond-shaped or similarly shaped openings 4. Fig. 1 shows an openable region 2 which is open and has an open slit 3.
When the slit 3 is closed, as can be seen in fig. 2, the slit is arranged on an imaginary line which is circular and which runs concentrically to one another, wherein the slit 3 extends in the direction of the imaginary line. On the line, the slits 3 are arranged one after the other at a distance from each other. On adjacent lines, the slits 3 are arranged side by side, wherein the slits 3 arranged side by side on adjacent lines are offset from each other in the longitudinal direction of the slits, which is also the longitudinal direction of the lines. The first slits 3a on the first line are located in the area of the space between the second slits 3b and the third slits 3c on the adjacent lines, respectively, seen transversely to the imaginary lines and slits 3. Here, the slits 3 are longer than the spacing between the slits 3, so that the first slits 3a on the first line cover the spacing between the second slits 3b and the third slits 3c on the adjacent second line, and the ends of the second slits 3b and the third slits 3c facing each other overlap as seen transversely to the lines and slits 3. It is thereby possible to expand the slit 3 into the opening 4 by expanding the openable region 2 of the trim panel 1 transversely to an imaginary line (on which the slit 3 is arranged) which in this embodiment is circular, and thus transversely to the slit 3.
The imaginary line and/or the openable region 2, in which the slit 3 is arranged, can have a shape and layout that is different from the shape and layout described and shown.
On the underside or rear side facing away from the passenger compartment, the trim panel 1 has an actuator 5 for opening and closing the gap 3 and thus the openable region 2. Fig. 3 and 4 show cross sections of the openable section 2 of the trim panel 1 in the closed state (fig. 3) and in the open state (4), in fig. 3 and 4 the actuator 5 being symbolized by an electromagnet. The actuator 5 is a device which is operated, for example, by means of electric current, compressed air or hydraulically, and which produces a mechanical movement. In this embodiment, the lifting lever 6 of the actuator 5 acts in the centre of the openable region 2 and moves said openable region perpendicular to its surface.
For opening, the actuator 5 moves the center of the openable region 2 from the surface of the trim panel 1 into the passenger compartment, whereby the openable region 2 arches in a dome shape from the surface of the trim panel 1 as can be seen in fig. 1 and 4. The surface of the openable region 2 is enlarged by a dome-shaped arch, whereby the openable region 2 is expanded transversely to an imaginary line in which the slit 3 is arranged and transversely to the slit 3, whereby the slit 3 is expanded into a hexagonal, diamond-shaped or similarly shaped opening 4.
In the closed state, as can be seen in fig. 2 and 3, the slit 3 is closed and the openable region 2 forms a coherent, flat or slightly outwardly or inwardly arched surface which is flush with the surface of the decorative panel 1.
At the lifting lever 6 of the actuator 5, a light source 7 (e.g. LED), a microphone 8 and a loudspeaker 9 are arranged on the underside or back side of the trim panel 1. When the openable region 2 of the trim panel 1 is opened, acoustic signals and voice can be output into the passenger compartment using the loudspeaker 9, and voice can be received from the passenger compartment using the microphone 8. The openable region 2 can be illuminated from the underside or from the back side by means of the light source 7, i.e. the slit 3 which extends into the opening 4 can be backlit (Hinterleuchtung). Illumination or backlighting can be achieved with different colors, for example representing signal output or speech output or receiving preparation.
As can be seen in particular in the cross section of fig. 3, the decorative panel 1 is thicker outside the openable region 2 or at least in the region surrounding the openable region 2 than in the openable region 2. In the openable region 2, the decorative panel 1 is no thicker than about 10% or 5% of the distance between two slits 3 arranged one after the other in one of the imaginary lines.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the decorative panel 1 is made of plastic and is elastic in the openable region 2, so that the decorative panel dome can be arched for opening as described and thus the slit 3 can be expanded into the opening 4. Outside the openable region 2, the trim panel 1 is so thick that it can be regarded as rigid.
