Detailed Description
Example one
Referring to fig. 1, the touch display device 10 provided in the present embodiment includes a touch structure 20, a display panel 30, and a cover plate 50 located on a side of the touch structure 20 away from the display panel 30. In the present embodiment, the touch structure 20 is stacked on the display panel 30 as a structure independent from the display panel 30, in other embodiments, the touch structure 20 may be embedded in the display panel 30, and the embodiments of the present invention do not limit the structures of the touch structure 20 and the display panel 30. The touch structure 20 is used for realizing touch operation, the display panel 30 is used for displaying images, the surface 51 of the cover plate 50 away from the touch structure 20 is used as a touch surface during touch operation, and the surface 51 is also used for displaying images displayed by the display panel 30. The touch display device 10 provided in this embodiment can be, for example, a touch display, a smart phone, a tablet computer, a smart appliance, or the like, which has both a touch function and a display function.
Referring to fig. 1, a display area 31 and a non-display area 32 are defined on a surface of the display panel 30 adjacent to the touch structure 20, wherein the non-display area 32 is disposed around the display area 31 and is adjacent to the display area 31; the display area 31 is used to display an image, and the non-display area 32 does not display an image. A touch area 211 and a non-touch area 212 are defined on the touch structure 20, wherein the non-touch area 212 is disposed around the touch area 211 and is adjacent to the touch area 211; the touch area 211 can sense the touch operation of the user by providing a structure such as a touch electrode, and the non-touch area 212 cannot sense the touch operation of the user without providing the structure. The cover plate 50 defines a transparent region 52 and a non-transparent region 53, wherein the non-transparent region 53 is disposed around the transparent region 52 and is adjacent to the transparent region 52; the light-transmitting region 52 allows light of the display panel 30 displaying an image to pass therethrough so that a user can view the image through the light-transmitting region, and the non-light-transmitting region 53 is provided with a material layer such as ink for shielding a structure under the cover plate 50 from the user.
In this embodiment, the orthographic projection of the touch area 211 on the display panel 30 is located inside the display area 31, that is, the orthographic projection of the touch area 211 on the display panel 30 is smaller than the area of the display area 31; and the orthographic projection of the display area 31 on the cover 50 is inside the light-transmitting area 52, i.e., the light-transmitting area 52 is larger than the orthographic projection area of the display area 31 on the cover 50. In other embodiments, the forward projection area of the touch area 211 on the display panel 30 is greater than or equal to the area of the display area 31; and the orthographic projection of the display area 31 on the cover plate 50 is equal to the size and shape of the light-transmitting area 52. In this embodiment, the light-transmitting area 52 is larger than the orthographic projection of the display area 31 on the cover 50, so that the light of the display area 31 is fully utilized.
Referring to fig. 2, in the present embodiment, the touch structure 20 includes a substrate 21, and a plurality of touch electrodes 22, a plurality of electrical connection lines 23 and a driver 24 located on a surface of the substrate 21, where the electrical connection lines 23 are electrically connected to the touch electrodes 22 and the driver 24, respectively.
Referring to fig. 1 and fig. 2, in the present embodiment, a touch area 211 and a non-touch area 212 surrounding the touch area 211 and adjacent to the touch area 211 are defined on the surface of the substrate 21 to form the surface.
Referring to fig. 2, in the present embodiment, each touch electrode 22 is a strip electrode, and the touch electrodes 22 are parallel to each other and are separately arranged in the touch area 211 of the substrate 21; each touch electrode 22 is formed of a transparent conductive material, and in the present embodiment, each touch electrode 22 is indium tin oxide. In other embodiments, each touch electrode 22 may have other shapes, such as a block electrode, a diamond electrode, etc.; each touch electrode 22 may also be made of other transparent conductive materials, such as metal mesh, silver nanowire, polyethylene dioxythiophene (PEDOT), Carbon Nanotube (CNT), conductive carbon paste (CNB), or Transparent Conductive Transfer Film (TCTF).
Referring to fig. 2, the electrical connection lines 23 are equal in number to the touch electrodes 22 and are electrically connected to the touch electrodes 22 in a one-to-one correspondence manner, each electrical connection line 23 is used for electrically connecting one touch electrode 22 with the driver 24, so that the driver 24 can perform signal transmission with each touch electrode 22 through each electrical connection line 23, where the signals include a touch driving signal sent by the driver 24 to each touch electrode 22, a touch sensing signal returned by each touch electrode 22 according to the touch driving signal, and the like.
With reference to fig. 2, each electrical connection line 23 includes a first extension 231 located in the touch region 211 and a second extension 232 located in the non-touch region 212. The first extension 231 and the second extension 232 are electrically connected to each other, and in this embodiment, the first extension 231 and the second extension 232 are electrically connected to each other. In this embodiment, the first extension portion 231 is made of a transparent conductive material, and the first extension portion 231 is made of the same material as the touch electrode 22, i.e., indium tin oxide, in other embodiments, the first extension portion 231 may be made of a transparent conductive material different from the touch electrode 22, such as a metal mesh, a silver nanowire, polyethylene dioxythiophene (PEDOT), a Carbon Nanotube (CNT), a conductive carbon paste (CNB), or a Transparent Conductive Transfer Film (TCTF). In this embodiment, by providing the first extension portion 231 with the same material as the touch electrode 22, the first extension portion 231 and the touch electrode 22 can be formed simultaneously in one step by patterning the same material layer once. When the first extension 231 and the touch electrode 22 are made of different materials, the conductivity at the joint of the first extension 231 and the touch electrode 22 may be affected to a certain extent, and in the embodiment, the first extension 231 and the touch electrode 22 are formed simultaneously in one step by patterning the same material layer at one time, and there is no joint between the first extension 231 and the touch electrode 22, so that the problem of the conductivity at the joint of different materials being affected can be effectively avoided.
Referring to fig. 2, the second extension 232 of each electrical connection line 23 is made of a metal material, and in the present embodiment, the second extension 232 is made of copper. Referring to fig. 1 and fig. 2, the second extending portion 232 is located in the non-touch region 212 of the touch structure 20, and further, a projection of the second extending portion 232 on the cover plate 50 is located in the non-transparent region 53. Since the second extension 232 is made of copper, i.e. a non-transparent material, it needs to be covered by the non-transparent region 53 of the cover plate 50 to avoid being observed. In this embodiment, a projection of a boundary between the first extension 231 and the second extension 232 on the cover 50 is just located on a boundary between the transparent region 52 and the non-transparent region 53 of the cover 50, that is, a projection of the first extension 231 on the cover 50 is completely located on the transparent region 52; in other embodiments, the projection of the first extension 231 on the cover plate 50 may also be partially located in the non-light-transmitting region 53, which is beneficial to avoid the problem that the actual installation area of the light-transmitting region 52 is larger than that in design due to installation tolerance, so that the second extension 232 is partially located in the light-transmitting region 52 and can be observed.
With reference to fig. 2, the second extension 232 further includes an electrical contact region 2321 and an extension region 2322 electrically connected to each other, the electrical contact region 2321 is located between the first extension 231 and the extension region 2322, and the width of the electrical contact region 2321 is greater than the width of the extension region 2322. In this embodiment, since the electrical contact region 2321 in the second extension portion 232 is copper, and the material of the first extension portion 231 in direct electrical contact with the electrical contact region 2321 is indium tin oxide, the electrical conductivity at the junction of the two different materials may be affected, in order to improve the electrical conductivity stability to a certain extent, in this embodiment, the portion of the second extension portion 232 close to the first extension portion 231 is defined as the electrical contact region 2321, and the width of the electrical contact region 2321 is increased (compared with the extension region 2322) to increase the electrical contact area at the junction of the electrical contact region 2321 and the first extension portion 231; on this basis, since the width of the extension region 2322 is not increased, the requirement for controlling the routing area can be satisfied. It is understood that, in other embodiments, the electrical contact region 2321 may not be defined by the second extension portion 232, that is, in other embodiments, the second extension portion 232 has an equal width throughout.
The touch structure 20 provided in this embodiment is configured to recognize a touch operation of a user, and output a touch driving signal to each touch electrode 22 through the driver 24 and receive a touch sensing signal returned by each touch electrode 22 to determine a touch coordinate of the current user. When the user touches the touch structure with a finger to perform a touch operation, the projection of the finger and the touch electrode 22 at the touch position have an overlapping area, and the driver 24 has a recognizable minimum touch area (determined by the performance and parameters of the driver 24 itself), and when the overlapping area of the projection of the finger and the touch electrode 22 is smaller than the minimum touch area, the driver 24 does not respond to the touch operation of the finger. Therefore, in the embodiment, although the first extending portion 231 of each electrical connection wire 23 is located in the touch-sensing area 211, as long as the area of the projection of the finger overlapped with the first extending portion 231 is smaller than the minimum touch-sensing area recognizable by the driver 24 when the finger touches the position of the first extending portion 231, the touch-sensing function of the touch-sensing electrode 22 will not be affected. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the width and the length of the first extending portion 231 located in the touch area 211 in each electrical connection line 23 can be set according to the minimum touch area recognizable by the driver 24 and the projection area of the finger when the finger touches the touch area 211.
In one embodiment, the width of the first extension 231 is less than 1000 μm, and the width of the extension 2322 in the second extension 232 is less than 500 μm. Within this range, the ideal conductive stability can be achieved and the area occupied by the wire can be controlled within a certain numerical range.
The following will describe a process of manufacturing the touch structure 20 in fig. 2:
referring to fig. 3, a transparent conductive material layer 25 is formed on the substrate 21, the transparent conductive material layer 25 covers the entire surface of the substrate 21, that is, the transparent conductive material layer 25 covers the touch area 211 and the non-touch area 212 of the substrate 21; in this embodiment, the transparent conductive material layer 25 is indium tin oxide. Referring to fig. 4, the transparent conductive material layer 25 is etched to form each touch electrode 22 and first extending portions 231 electrically connected to the touch electrodes 22 in a one-to-one correspondence manner. Then, a second extension portion 232 made of copper and electrically connected to the first extension portion 231 is formed on the substrate 21, so as to form the structure of the touch structure 20 shown in fig. 2 (mainly for explaining the manufacturing process of the touch electrode 22 and the electrical connection wire 23, the description of the driver 24 is omitted).
In the structure of the touch structure 20, the first extending portions 231 of the electrical connection wires 23 are made of a transparent conductive material, so that the first extending portions 231 of the electrical connection wires 23 can be disposed in the touch region 211, and the routing area of the electrical connection wires 23 in the non-touch region 212 is increased on the basis of not affecting the image display of the display panel 30. Since the non-touch area 212 of the touch structure 20 generally corresponds to the frame area of the touch display device 10, the touch structure 20 is further beneficial to reduce the frame area of the touch display device 10 where the touch structure 20 is located, so as to achieve a better display effect.
Example two
Referring to fig. 5, the touch structure 40 provided in the present embodiment is mainly different from the first embodiment in that the second extending portion 432 is a double-layer structure of a transparent conductive material and a metal. Only the above-described differences will be described in detail below:
referring to fig. 6, the second extending portion 432 of the electrical connection line 43 includes a metal layer 4321 and a transparent conductive layer 4322, which are stacked, wherein the transparent conductive layer 4322 is located between the substrate 41 and the metal layer 4321. In this embodiment, the transparent conductive layer 4322, the first extending portion 431 and the touch electrode 42 are made of the same material, i.e., indium tin oxide; metal layer 4321 is copper.
The following will describe a process of manufacturing the touch structure 40 in fig. 6:
referring to fig. 7, a substrate 45 is formed on the substrate 41, the substrate 45 includes a first material layer 451 (in the embodiment, ito) and a second material layer 452 (in the embodiment, cu), and the substrate 45 covers the entire surface of the substrate 41, i.e., the substrate 45 covers the display area 411 and the non-display area 412 of the substrate 41. Substrate 45 is etched, referring to fig. 8A-8B, to form a first material sublayer 4511 and a second material sublayer 4521. Then, the second material sub-layer 4521 located in the display area 411 is removed, so as to form the structure of the touch structure 40 in fig. 6 (mainly used to illustrate the manufacturing process of the touch electrode 42 and the electrical connection line 43, and the description of the driver 44 is omitted), wherein the first material sub-layer 4511 corresponds to the touch electrode 22, the first extension portion 431, and the transparent conductive layer 4322, and the remaining portion of the second material sub-layer 4521 after the portion located in the display area 411 is removed corresponds to the metal layer 4321.
It should be understood that the touch structure 40 provided in the present embodiment can achieve all the advantages described in the first embodiment, and on the basis that in the present embodiment, the transparent conductive layer 4322 of the second extending portion 432 and the first extending portion 431 are formed by the same material layer in one patterning step, compared to the electrical contact of the ito and the cu in the embodiment, the transparent conductive layer 4322 and the first extending portion 431 in the present embodiment have no junction of different materials, so the electrical conductivity of the electrical connection line 43 is more stable.
It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the above embodiments are illustrative only and not intended to be limiting, and that suitable modifications and variations may be made to the above embodiments without departing from the true spirit and scope of the invention.
