In laser emission, irradiation of the main laser light or the stray light onto the optical element may generate a large amount of aerosol and particulate contaminants, which may adhere to the optical element. When strong laser interacts with particulate contaminants on the surface of the optical element, thermal damage is caused, the optical element is seriously damaged, the quality of light beams is reduced, and laser emission failure is caused. The large-caliber optical element is very expensive, the production and processing period is long, and the cost for replacing the optical element is high. Therefore, the surface cleaning work for the large-caliber optical element is very critical and is an important measure for ensuring the long-term stable operation of the laser device.
At present, a laser device employs a clean air knife purge technique, a clean gas laminar flow replacement technique, an electrostatic adsorption technique, and the like to keep the environment around an optical element clean. However, the above measures do not remove macroscopic contaminating particles. Wiping clean, i.e., mechanical force is used to strip contaminants from the surface of the optical element for larger particle contaminants.
