Description

Pivoting fitting and piece of furniture
Technical Field
The invention relates to a pivot fitting according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a piece of furniture having such a pivot fitting.
Background
A common type of pivot fitting has two levers which can be fixed relative to one another by means of a clamping mechanism, by means of which they can be fixed in different angular positions relative to one another within a predetermined angle against a torque acting in the resetting direction, and which can be pivoted in the resetting direction upon release of the clamping mechanism.
Such a universal pivot fitting is known, for example, from DE 102011017301B 4. Such a pivot fitting has proven useful in practice.
In order to avoid damage due to overloading of such a pivot fitting, in the pivot fitting according to DE 102011017301B 4 the toothed disk of the clamping mechanism is held between two friction disks.
The toothed disc itself has an external toothing into which the pawl engages, by means of which the pivot fitting can be latched in a predetermined position.
If the pivot fitting is overloaded, the toothed plate can move in the resetting direction relative to the two clamping plates, despite being latched by the pawl, when one lever pivots due to overcoming the friction force.
In this prior art described above, it has proved disadvantageous that the release torque of such a friction-bound solution for overload protection is very low, in particular in the range of 8Nm to 15Nm, which often leads to an undesired release of the pivot fitting.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the invention to further develop a pivot fitting such that it has an improved overload protection.
Another object of the invention is to provide a piece of furniture by means of which the function of the movable part on the piece of furniture is improved.
The first object is achieved by a pivot fitting having the features of claim 1.
The second object is achieved by a piece of furniture having the features of claim 15.
The pivot fitting according to the invention, in particular for a movable furniture part on a piece of furniture, has a first lever and a second lever which are mounted so as to be pivotable relative to one another about a pivot axis in a predetermined angle in an adjustment direction and in a return direction away from a basic position.
The pivot fitting also has a clamping mechanism by means of which the two levers can be fixed in different angular positions relative to one another within a predetermined angle against a torque acting in the resetting direction and can be pivoted in the resetting direction when the clamping mechanism is released.
The pivot fitting also has an overload coupling, the first lever being pivotable relative to the second lever in a reset direction when a predetermined torque is exceeded when the clamping mechanism is actuated.
The overload coupling is designed as a claw coupling which is arranged as a structural unit between the first rod and the second rod.
By mounting such a claw coupling between the first rod and the second rod, a reliable overload protection is ensured.
Such a claw coupling is characterized in particular in that it releases only at relatively high release torques, in particular at release torques of the order of at least 60Nm, so that accidental release is largely avoided.
A further feature of this claw coupling is that it can be used for constructing different pivot fittings, since it is not directly integrated in the clamping or latching mechanism of the pivot fitting.
Advantageous embodiment variants of the invention form the subject matter of the dependent claims.
According to an advantageous embodiment variant, the claw coupling has: a housing; at least one spring element, which is designed in particular as a cup spring; a first pawl plate coupled to a first one of the levers in a manner to rotate with the first one; and a second claw plate coupled to a second one of the levers in a manner to rotate together with the second one; and a respective connecting element for axially connecting the respective rod to the claw plate.
The spring element, the claw plate and part of the connecting element are housed in a housing, wherein a respective end piece of the connecting element protrudes from the housing and is coupled to a respective one of the levers.
According to one embodiment variant, the claw plates have respective projections and recesses on the annular surfaces facing each other in the assembled state.
The projections and recesses are shaped such that, in the latched position, the projection of one of the claw plates is located in the recess of the other claw plate and, by rotating the claw plates relative to each other about the pivot axis, the projection of one of the claw plates abuts against the annular surface in immediate vicinity of the recess.
According to another embodiment variant, the coding of the projections and recesses is chosen such that when the claw plates are in angular positions spaced apart from one another by 180 °, the latching position can be taken up, which enables the released claw coupling to be easily latched again.
According to another embodiment variant of the invention, the first claw plate has a central aperture with a polygonal or serrated inner edge, in which central aperture a polygonal or external serrated dowel shaft held in the lever head of the first lever is received in the assembled state, which ensures an easy connection of the claw coupling to the first lever.
According to another embodiment variant, the axially extending force transmission shaft with a polygonal or serrated side surface extends from the annular surface of the second claw plate away from the first claw plate and, in the assembled state, engages in a polygonal or internal serrated aperture formed in the rod head of the second rod.
This ensures that the force transmission shaft protruding from the first pin is connected to the second pin with the claw coupling interposed therebetween.
Particularly preferably, the force transmission shaft on the second claw plate is formed integrally with the second claw plate. The claw plate is in particular constructed as a sintered component.
According to another embodiment variant of the invention, the housing of the claw coupling has a cylindrical side surface, from whose edge facing the first rod the flexible tongue extends axially before assembly of the claw coupling, the flexible tongue being bent radially inwards after the at least one spring element, the claw plate and the connecting element, so that the claw plates are pressed against one another under pretension by the at least one spring element.
By means of these tongues bent radially inwards, the torque required for releasing the claw coupling latch can be easily obtained.
In order to ensure a defined rotation of only one of the claw plates, according to another preferred embodiment variant, the annular surface of the first claw plate facing away from the second claw plate is provided with a plurality of recesses in which the radially inwardly curved tongues of the housing are located.
The first claw plate is thus coupled in a rotationally fixed manner to the housing of the claw coupling, so that the second claw plate can be rotated out of the latched position in the event of an overload.
For the axial connection of the claw plates to the respective rod, connecting elements are provided, which are preferably designed as rivets.
Preferably, the rivet heads of the connecting element are received in the cutouts of the second claw plate in such a way that they bear against one another and support one another.
The piece of furniture according to the invention is characterized by at least one pivoting fitting as described above.

Detailed Description
In the following description of the drawings, terms such as top, bottom, left, right, front, rear, etc. refer only to exemplary representations and positions of pivot fittings, levers, claw couplings, claw plates, housings, etc. selected in the corresponding drawings. These terms should not be construed as limiting, that is, these references may vary due to different working positions or mirror symmetrical arrangements, etc.
In fig. 1-4, reference numeral 1 generally designates an embodiment variant of a pivot fitting according to the invention. Such a pivot fitting 1 is used in particular for the purpose of effecting a pivoting movement of a movable furniture part on a piece of furniture, such as, for example, an armrest 103 or a backrest, a headrest or a footrest of a piece of furniture 100 configured as a piece of furniture for sitting or lying down, as shown in fig. 11 to 13.
As shown in fig. 1 to 4, the pivot fitting 1 has a first lever 2 and a second lever 3. The two levers 2, 3 are mounted so as to be able to pivot relative to each other about a pivot axis D away from the basic position in the adjustment direction V and the return direction R by a predetermined angle α.
The clamping or latching mechanism 23 of the pivot fitting 1, which is arranged here between the two lever heads 22a and 22b, is configured such that the two levers 2, 3 can be fixed in different angular positions relative to one another within a predetermined angle α against a torque acting in the reset direction R, and the two levers 2, 3 can be pivoted in the reset direction R when the clamping or latching mechanism 23 is released.
This enables, for example, the adjustment of an armrest 103 or a headrest of the piece of furniture 100, wherein the armrest 103 or headrest is connected to the second lever 3 in order to pivot it into a position which is comfortable for the user and to lock it in a desired position.
In order to protect the pivot fitting 1 and the furniture part from any overload that may occur and any corresponding damage or destruction, the pivot fitting 1 has an overload coupling via which the first rod 2 can be pivoted in the resetting direction R relative to the second rod 3 when a predetermined torque is exceeded when the clamping or latching mechanism 24 is actuated.
As shown in fig. 1 and 4, the overload coupling is designed as a claw coupling 4, which claw coupling 4 is arranged as a structural unit between the first rod 2 and the second rod 3.
As shown in fig. 4 to 10b, the claw coupling portion 4 has: a housing 41, which housing 41 accommodates two spring elements 42, preferably designed as disk springs; two claw-shaped plates; and a connecting element 45, 46 for axially connecting the respective rod 2, 3 to one of the claw plates 43, 44.
The end pieces of the connecting elements 45, 46 protrude from the housing 41.
The first claw plate 43 is coupled to the force transmission shaft 24 in such a way as to rotate together with the force transmission shaft 24, which is coupled to the clamping mechanism 23.
The second claw plate 44, shown in detail in fig. 10a and 10b, is coupled to the second lever 3 in a manner to rotate together with the second lever 3.
It is also conceivable that only one or more than two such spring elements 42 are accommodated in the housing 41.
The housing 41 of the claw coupling 4 is shown in detail in fig. 8. As shown in fig. 8, the housing 41 of the claw coupling 4 has a cylindrical side surface 411, and before assembling the claw coupling, a flexible tongue 414 extends axially from the edge of the cylindrical side surface 411 facing towards the first rod 2. Fig. 8 shows such a state before the claw coupling portion 4 is assembled.
After the insertion of the spring element 42, the claw plates 43, 44 and the connecting elements 45, 46, the flexible tongues 414 are bent radially inward, so that the claw plates 43, 44 are pressed against one another by the spring element 42 under pretension.
By bending the tongues 414 to a greater or lesser extent, the amount of torque that must be applied to rotate the claw plates 43, 44 out of one latching position and to the final latching position can be adjusted.
Preferably, the claw coupling 4 is adjusted so that the torque to be applied is in the range of 60Nm to 120 Nm.
A central opening 413, through which a coupling 449 coupling the second claw plate 43 to the second rod 3 can be inserted, is provided in the bottom surface 412, and a cylindrical side surface 411 protrudes from the bottom surface 412.
The two claw plates 43, 44 are shown in detail in fig. 9a, 9b and 10a and 10 b.
As shown in fig. 9a and 9b, the first claw plate 43 has a plurality of protrusions 432, 433 on an annular surface 431 facing the second claw plate 44. The projections 432, 433 have radial side edges.
The widths of the projections 432, 433 in the circumferential direction of the annular surface 431 are different from each other. Thus, the projections 432, 433 are coded such that in the exemplary embodiment shown here, the latched position of the claw plates 43, 44 relative to each other can only be taken up when the claw plates 43, 44 are in angular positions that are spaced apart from each other by 180 °.
The second claw plate 44 has recesses 442, 443 corresponding to the size of the projections 432, 433 such that in the latched position the projections 432, 433 of the first claw plate 43 are located in the recesses 442, 443 of the second claw plate 44.
By rotating the claw plates relative to each other, as occurs when the pivot fitting 1 is overloaded, the two claw plates 43, 44 are moved axially apart against the spring force by the overlapping size of the claws and are rotated relative to each other about the pivot axis D such that the projections 432, 433 abut against the annular surface 441 in the immediate vicinity of the recesses 442, 443 of the second claw plate 44.
The radial side edges of the projections 432, 433 and of the recesses 442, 443 are preferably chamfered and/or rounded.
In order to establish a rotationally fixed connection between one of the claw plates 43, 44 and the housing 41, the annular surface 435 of the first claw plate 43 facing away from the second claw plate 44 has a plurality of recesses 436 in which the radially inwardly bent tongues 414 of the housing 41 are located.
Furthermore, as shown in fig. 9a and 9b, the first claw plate 43 has a central aperture 437 having a polygonal or serrated inner edge, the polygonal or outer serrated dowel shaft 24 held in the lever head 22 of the first lever 2 being received in the central aperture 437 in an assembled state.
In the embodiment variant of the second claw plate 44 shown here, as shown in fig. 10a and 10b, an axially extending force transmission shaft 447 with a polygonal or serrated side surface extends from the annular surface 445 of the second claw plate 43 away from the first claw plate 43 and, in the assembled state, engages in a polygonal or internal serrated hole formed in the rod head 32 of the second rod 3, as shown in fig. 3 and 4.
The connecting elements 45, 46 serve to axially fix the claw coupling 4 to the two rods 2, 3. The connecting elements 45, 46 are preferably configured as rivets.
As shown in fig. 4, 6 and 8, in the assembled state, the rivet heads 452, 462 of the connecting elements 45, 46 bear against one another and support one another.
In the embodiment variant shown here, the rivet heads 452, 462 are located in the cutout 444 of the second claw plate 44.
The ends of the connecting elements 45, 46 remote from one another are riveted at the ends of rivet necks 451, 461, which rivet necks 451, 461 extend in one case through the first claw plate 43 and the force transmission shaft 24 and in the second case through the second claw plate 44 and the force transmission shaft 447 attached to the second claw plate 44 or integrally formed on the second claw plate 44.
Instead of rivets, the use of screws or other connecting elements is also conceivable. For example, bolts with a groove and a locking ring can also be used as connecting elements.
Each of the connecting elements may also be integrally formed with one of the claw plates 43, 44.
The two claw plates 43, 44 are preferably constructed as sintered components.
The force transmission shaft 447 of the second claw plate 44 is preferably provided with a cylindrical neck part 446, on which the spring element 42 is screwed in the assembled state.
Instead of the second lever 3 of the pivot fitting 1, the first lever 2 can also be coupled directly to the movable furniture part by means of a claw coupling 4.
This is particularly useful in the case of furniture using metal profiles, for example made of steel pipes. In this case, the tab or profile of the movable furniture part is coupled to the force transmission shaft 447 instead of the second rod 3 and is fixed by the connecting element 45.
