Description

Paint container with optimized closed member
The present invention relates to a container containing a liquid spray product and comprising a spray system, device or apparatus, suitable for use in the general technical field. The container is generally used for packaging, manufacturing and painting operations with a paint gun or spray gun, as well as for storing, using, temporarily storing a product of the mixture type comprising at least two components.
More particularly, the present invention relates to a material cartridge or disposable material cartridge that stores two or more components to be mixed in a separated manner to be used after being mounted on a spray gun through an adapter fitting.
In the field of products which are painted, sprayed or sprayed with two or more components, even more commonly with a plurality of components, such as paints, primers, varnishes, etc., the two or more components of the final product should be packaged separately. These ingredients are not mixed until use because the spray or spray paint has time-limiting properties, e.g. they can adsorb a large amount of impurities, harden or become pasty. In addition, these compositions are typically sensitive to air and/or light and must be packaged separately in sealed and/or opaque containers.
When a product containing two or more components is to be sprayed, the operator typically needs to premix the product components and then transfer the mixture to a container suitable for his spray tool, each of the product components being individually pre-contained in a respective container.
The preparation of such spray products containing two or more components has a number of disadvantages, among which special attention is paid:
commercial packaging of two-component products is cumbersome and expensive, since each component must be individually packaged in a separate container;
risks of spillage and loss of ingredients or product during the preparation of the product to be sprayed, due to the need to carry out several transfer operations between the containers;
improper dosage may result from manual handling during the preparation of the product to be sprayed, thereby affecting the effectiveness of the two-component product produced;
after the mixing is completed, the container for holding the component materials emptied from the storage portion needs a large space,
the remaining ingredient material stored in the partially emptied container deteriorates when exposed to air;
the rising preparation time and labor costs required to mix ingredients has prompted employers to seek solutions to increase job speed.
In the field of painting or spraying with tools such as gravity guns, suction apparatus or the like, there are only a few two-component packages for single use.
In order to make painting or spraying work more convenient, reliable and quick and at the same time more economical in terms of product and equipment investment, the invention aims to provide a novel packaging operation container which can be mounted on a spraying tool and can serve as a hopper.
It is another object of the present invention to simplify the process of removing the inner tube from a container containing additional ingredients.
The object of the invention is achieved by a disposable container, which can contain at least one liquid component such as paint, varnish or cleaning product, and which has a bottom, at least one peripheral side wall extending from the bottom to an upper peripheral edge forming an open, spaced connection end facing said bottom, said connection end being closed by a closure, characterized in that:
at least one rigid removable partition inside the container; and is
The closure member is a sealing membrane fixed to the upper edge of the peripheral side wall, and to the upper end of the rigid removable partition, by means of gluing and/or heat sealing.
The vehicle brakes, such as a truck, tractor or trailer, may be cleaned using the cleaning product.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the sealing membrane, depending on its shape, has at least one clip projecting above the upper edge of the side wall. The sealing membrane may also have two, three or four clips.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the sealing film comprises a layer of aluminium foil covering one side of a plastic material which can be heat-welded to the constituent material of said container.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the at least one rigid removable partition engages with the lower end in a gullet formed in the bottom to construct at least one sealed compartment for storing and isolating the at least one additional ingredient.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the rigid removable spacers can define the inner pipe position.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the upper end of the rigid removable partition is provided with a flat element having a total area greater than the total area of the upper edge of the lateral wall, to which the sealing membrane is attached, corresponding to the height at which the sealing membrane extends along the upper edge of the lateral wall.
The sealing membrane may be removed or detached.
According to an exemplary embodiment, the bottom is provided with an air vent having an opening in the bottom to define an air passageway.
According to an embodiment, the aeration device is provided with a rotary valve mounted on the outer surface of the bottom part at the extension of the opening for closing and opening the air passage.
The container produced according to the invention can be pre-filled with at least one spray product.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the container comprises a reinforcement fastened to the bottom and a portion of the retaining gullet extending to a projection of the outer surface of the bottom.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the side wall is provided with a reinforcing rib or a threaded ring on its outer edge, close to its connecting end.
The object of the invention is also achieved by a liquid spraying device comprising a gravity gun and a storage tank containing the disposable container, a removable lid. The cover is arranged at the opening end of the container to facilitate opening and closing, and is characterized in that: the bottom of the container (also called base) is provided with a closable opening (also called air vent); the container is made of semitransparent plastic, so that the content of the container can be conveniently checked, and the side wall of one side or a plurality of sides is/are marked to determine the content capacity; the cover is provided with a hole, also called a discharge hole, for conveying liquid from the storage tank to a feed port of the spray gun; the filter is capable of filtering liquid drawn from the storage tank through a discharge port in the lid, the filter being located in the lid.
The object of the present invention can be achieved by a liquid ejection apparatus including a spray gun and a storage tank that stores liquid to be sprayed. The reservoir comprises the container described and a removable lid which is fitted to the open end (also known as the mouth) of the container for closing, and which has an aperture (also known as the outlet) to which a spray gun can be connected for spraying liquid from the reservoir in use.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the spray gun comprises an integrated connection means which is adapted to co-operate with a mating connector means on the lid to form a non-screwed engagement by which the reservoir can be removably secured to the spray gun.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the spray gun comprises an integrated spigot for engagement without threaded engagement with a connector device comprising a compression member adjustable by depressing the spigot, the tubular coupling member being made up of two parts, a first part providing a fluid tight connection between the coupling member and the spigot and a second part being cooperable with the spray gun, the spray being applied externally of the spigot to prevent rotation of the coupling member within said spigot without restricting relative axial movement between the coupling member and said spigot to engage/disengage the coupling member.
The term "non-screwing" means that all forms of detachable connection between two connectors are used, which can be engaged/disengaged by axial movement and/or relative angular movement of less than one revolution about the connecting axis.
The invention may also be practiced by making and using a liquid spray system characterized as follows:
-a) using the container described above,
-b) separating at least one liquid component using a container sealing membrane,
-c) mounting the lid on the container to form a spray can,
-d) connecting the storage tank to the spray gun,
-e) spraying the liquid component.
According to one embodiment, the method of the present invention is: after step a) and before step b), removing the inner tube containing the other component from the container, tearing off the sealing film attached to the inner tube and mixing the components.
According to the invention, the inner bottom of the container should be flat, without any raised elements on the surface that could interfere with the stirring operation of the stirring rod.
The container produced according to the present invention has good sealability due to the use of a sealing film as a closure member.
The use of a sealing membrane also saves on the material required for closing the container produced according to the invention.
In addition, when the container contains two components, the pulling-out operation is easier before mixing the components because the sealing film has stronger viscosity and the pulling-out force is needed to pull out the central tube.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a container 1 produced according to an example of the invention. The container is generally cylindrical or frusto-conical in appearance with its outer sidewall 2 extending from the base 3 to the open end 4. The latter is shown more precisely in fig. 2.
Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of the container 1 provided with an internal compartment delimited by an internal tube 1 a. When the container 1 is filled with one or more products, the open end 4 (also called the connecting end) will preferably be sealed by a sealing membrane 5.
Fig. 3 is a top view of the sealing membrane 5 not attached to the container 1. The sealing membrane 5 comprises one or more jaws 5a in contact with the surroundings to allow better gripping when it is removed from the container 1.
The container 1 is also fitted with a closable venting device 6 at the centre or by-centre of the outer surface 3a of the bottom 3. The latter closed and open states are shown, for example, in fig. 1 and 3, respectively.
The closable vent 6 comprises an opening 7 in the bottom 3 to form an air passage. The opening 7 is shown highlighted in fig. 9, 11, 12 and 13.
The closable vent 6 also comprises a rotary valve 8, a first embodiment of which is shown in detail in fig. 4 and 5, and a second embodiment of which is shown in detail in fig. 6 to 8. A rotary valve 8 is mounted on the outer surface 3a of the bottom 3 and is located in the extension of the opening 7. For details, reference may be made to fig. 9, 11, 12 and 13.
The rotary valve 8 is provided with a rotary shaft 8a which extends in a plane parallel to the outer surface 3a and is tightly mounted in the clamp 9. The clamps 9 are present in pairs, at projections on the outer surface 3 a.
The rotary valve 8 comprises an operating lever 8b for toggling said rotary valve 8 between two adjacent positions constituting a limit switch. These two adjacent positions correspond to the open and closed states of the opening 7, respectively.
The rotary valve 8 is also provided with a central cylindrical part 8 c. The latter is in contact with the outer surface 3a of the bottom 3 and ends on each side from both the transverse and longitudinal directions by means of a shaft end of smaller diameter, thus constituting a rotation shaft 8a engaged in the respective clamp 9.
According to a first embodiment of the rotary valve 8, the cylindrical part 8c is also provided with a radial conduit 8d and is able to open the air passage, either to put the opening 7 in communication with the outside or to close said opening 7, depending on the rotary position of the rotary valve 8. Such a rotary valve 8 is shown in fig. 4 and 5.
According to a second embodiment of the rotary valve 8, the cylindrical part 8c is also provided with a groove 8e which is open to the outside, for example in a position of at least a quarter turn on the cylindrical part 8c, so that depending on the rotational position of the rotary valve 8 the air passage is opened, allowing the opening 7 to communicate with the outside or closing said opening 7. Such a rotary valve 8 is shown in fig. 6 and 8.
For example: in fig. 9 a rotary valve 8 according to the first embodiment is shown in an open position; while in figures 11, 12 or 13 the rotary valve is shown in the closed position.
The container 1 and the gripper 9 can be formed separately as another part, for example by injection molding plastic.
The rotary shaft 8 and the cylindrical part 8c can be separately formed as another part, for example by injection molding plastic.
For example, as shown in fig. 1, a container 1 produced according to the invention is pre-filled with at least one lacquer product, varnish or detergent and comprises a closing element constituted by a sealing film 5.
As shown in fig. 2, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 17, the embodiment of the container 1 produced according to the invention is intended for a multiple use as a two-component container 1, capable of storing two different material components separately and individually. These material components are mixed prior to the spraying operation.
Thus, as shown in fig. 2, the container 1 internally comprises a tube 1a, the lower end 1c of which engages in a gullet 10 in the bottom 3, for example a gullet of circular shape and rectangular cross-section. The upper end of the tube 1a is normally mounted adjacent to the flat face 1b to facilitate the adhesion of the sealing membrane 5. For details, reference is made to fig. 11.
The gullet 10 is formed by a U-shaped bottom 3, for example maintaining a radially conical appearance inside or outside the gullet to secure or enhance sealing performance. According to other embodiments, the seal can be mounted radially on one side, provided with a sealing lip, able to be locked, engaged or snap-fitted elastically (tightly engaged with the element in which it is inserted), if necessary, using a seal of different material.
Axial guide ribs may be mounted on the inner tube or in the gullets having axial seals at the bottom.
The upper region 2a of the side wall 2 illustrates that its contact surface is smaller than that of the flat region 1 b. This makes the fit between the sealing membrane 5 and the tube 1a stronger than the fit between the sealing membrane 5 and the upper region 2a of the container 1. Thus, when pulling the sealing film 5, the tube 1a can be easily removed from the container 1, more precisely from the sealing joint in the gullet 10 of the bottom 3, and the tube 1a is then sucked onto said sealing film 5. As shown in fig. 12.
Fig. 13 shows an embodiment example of a container 1 produced according to the invention, containing only one component. Therefore, there is neither the pipe 1a nor the partition installed inside the container 1 or engaged in the spline 10.
Figure 14 is an example of a two component container 1 produced according to the present invention. It is necessary to take out the inner tube 1a in order to mix together the ingredients stored inside said tube 1a and around said tube 1a in the container 1, respectively. The latter may be in an eccentric position in the container 1.
The container 1 is made of a translucent or opaque plastic material, depending on the product or products contained in the container, since it may be sensitive to light, in particular ultraviolet radiation.
It is preferred to operate with a hollow stirring rod 12 as shown in fig. 14 and 15, which is provided with a male flange 12a at one end and a positioning recess 12b at the other end. Therefore, the use of the hollow stirring rod 12 for support, in particular by means of one notch 12b at the upper region 2a, engages the flange 12a under the flat 1b of the inner tube 1a, which is a necessary operation. Similarly, the tube 1a is lifted or withdrawn from the container 1 or from the gullet 10 by a lever effect.
Once the inner tube 1a is removed from the container 1, it is advisable to mix the two components inside said container 1 using a stirring rod 12. For this purpose, the stirring rod is provided with a plurality of holes 12c for the mixing operation.
The upper and outer sides of the peripheral side wall 2 of the container 1 are provided with helical rib 13 members constituting attachment means to enable attachment to a spray gun 14. Obviously, the connection is made by means of a cover 15, provided with a spout associated with the adapter. The lid 15 comprises mounting means complementary to the rib member 13, able to be mounted or screwed on the container 1. An adapter mounted on the spout may connect the storage tank to the spray gun 14. The filter 16 is integrally mounted in the cover 15.
According to the invention, the storage tank comprises a container 1 and a lid 15 for mounting on a painting or spraying tool, such as a spray gun 14.
This specification primarily describes the use of two-component or single-component products. Increasing the number of components will result in a corresponding doubling of the additional volume of each component stored in the container 1.
If the final product to be mixed for spraying or jetting is a paint-like product, a primer, a paint or a varnish, the first component may be a solvent or an adhesive and the second component may be a filler or a hardener.
The lid 15 is provided with a part or adapter for connecting the storage tank assembly of the present invention to a spraying tool. The disposable assembly 1 described in the present invention can be mounted on a gravity spray gun 14, in which case the part or the adapter part comprises a distribution cone or a special technical form for the feeding of the spray gun 14, as shown in fig. 16. The assembly comprising the container 1 and the lid 15 (also called storage tank) also constitutes a practically usable disposable hopper.
As shown in fig. 17, the container 1 comprises a reinforcing element 17 fastened to the bottom 3 and a zone 10a projecting from the outer surface 3a and able to retain the tooth socket 10. For example, the three reinforcements 17 present a triangular shape and are distributed in a star shape along the area 10 a. The reinforcing element 17 also extends on both sides of the expanded circular area 10 a. The reinforcement 17 thus contributes to reducing or eliminating the deformation of the bottom 3, in particular during the closing or sealing of the container 1, which is subjected to a certain amount of mechanical stress.
It is clear that the invention is not limited to the preferred embodiments described above and shown in the various figures, to which a person skilled in the art can make numerous modifications, other variants being envisaged, without departing from the scope and framework of the invention.
