The invention discloses an indoor formaldehyde scavenger and a preparation method thereof, wherein the indoor formaldehyde scavenger comprises water, color paste, an antifreezing agent, a thickening agent, a defoaming agent, an adsorption composition, titanium dioxide, amino acid and triethylene tetramine, and the components in parts by weight of the raw materials are as follows: 50-80 parts of water, 1-3 parts of color paste, 4-6 parts of an anti-freezing agent, 4-6 parts of a thickening agent, 4-6 parts of a defoaming agent, 20-30 parts of an adsorption composition, 10-16 parts of titanium dioxide, 4-8 parts of amino acid and 4-8 parts of triethylene tetramine, wherein the titanium dioxide rotates titanium dioxide of all crystal phases, the amino acid is selected from one of aspartic acid, lysine, glutamic acid, arginine and the like, the adsorption composition comprises a mixture of tourmaline, bentonite, sepiolite and active carbon, and the mixing ratio is set to be 3: 3: 2: 2. the indoor formaldehyde scavenger and the preparation method thereof can treat formaldehyde from two aspects of physics and chemistry, and accelerate the treatment effect and efficiency of formaldehyde.
